Tesco Cafe in Cardiff

Nice and cosy place to spent time. We visit 3-4 times a week. So nice after gym or swimming.

Great value for money! And incredible food. Would recomend the bacon waffles, very good!

Edit Nov 2024- I can only assume the staff read my initial review & remembered the customer who sent her food back (very politely & apologetically I might add) because this afternoon I came in with my daughter to order a meal to share. I had a very pleasant interaction with Marie when ordering. When my food was ready the server came up to the table from behind me & tossed my plate down in front of me without so much as a heads up, she did not even look at me or give me a chance to move anything on the table to make space, She just threw my meal down & disappeared. In case you do happen to read this review (lady with the very high, slicked back bun who has worked there for yonks) I want you to know I was having a TERRIBLE day, I was doing everything in my power to keep it together for my little girl. But your behavior absolutely finished me off. If my daughter hadn't been hungry I was ready to grab my things and just walk straight out. I had to stop myself daughter seeing me start to cry. I saw you serve other tables politely & with respect so I'm not chalking this up to just being busy / stressed. I felt very unwelcome. You have no idea what someone is going through & in your line of work it's important to keep that in mind. I don't know how much of this encounter Marie saw or heard about but id like to thank you so much. Your act of kindness when I was desperately trying to hold it together for my baby was hugely appreciated. Thank you ever so much! What a kind, beautiful person you are. I've left my original review below. Most of the staff are always super friendly & helpful. Coffee is always lovely. I've visited quite a few times but this most recent visit I had to send my food back & ask for a refund. They do seem to be understaffed as every visit there are always a lot of tables that haven't been cleared/ cleaned.

Food was alright for the price you pay, but the other customers were absolutely feral. There was a father encouraging and joining in with his primary aged children shouting "we want food" and "we're number 14", which was loudly audible across the whole cafe. Staff did nothing to tell them to act appropriately. I can only assume they were there because of the free children's meals in half term. I finished eating and left as quickly as I could, as my ears were starting to bleed.

Lazy staff. Never at the till. Continually skiving.

Tesco’s cafe’s a nice, airy space. It’s on the first floor and accessible by a set of stairs or a lift. It’s much quieter than the ground-floor Costa Coffee is in the mornings (I’m assuming because it’s out of the way). It’s also handy for the Community Room in Tesco (great to see this is open again). The customer service is great - Marie was so helpful when my toddler got awkwardly stuck in their toddler seat (thank you!). The tea cakes we had were really nice so I’d happily call in here again.

Friendly staff and quick service. Don't recommend jacket potato, they are dry and beans and cheese option is mostly beans. Last time I went baby leaf salad was actually beginning to go bad and tomatoes were off. I usually have veggie breakfast which is quite good. Hubby says fish and chips are good too.

Went up there at 4:20pm. Server told us they close at 5pm so they’ve turned everything off!! How can they be allowed to close the cafe earlier than the times specified?

Never had a problem previously. Who ever was cooking on this day though clearly couldn't cook. Twice a fried egg was over cooked and poached eggs were still hard even after sending them back anf items missing from my meal.

Delicious all-day breakfast and a wide range of other menu options. Good cup of tea and extra hot water provided!

Disappointed with the standard of food.

Super nettes Personal! Unsere Baguettes wurden uns netterweise auch für Take Away warm gemacht. Leckere Croissants und Muffins. Der Kaffee ist auch super.

Staff are friendly, prices are cheap, food is abysmal.

Hoy mi esposa y yo desayunamos en Tesco qué maduro en mi opinión tuve un gran desayuno 1 salchicha 1; tocino algunos frijoles horneados y huevo escarchado y medio tomate + papas fritas No me gustan las papas fritas, las cambian por tocino / salchichas. ¿Decir decepcionado? ¿Es un eufemismo muy poco huevo revuelto muy pocos frijoles sin tomate? salchicha muy buen tocino? mucha grasa. Mi ascensor está deshabilitado y está fuera de servicio para acceder al café. Está usando una escalera mecánica empinada, subiendo bien, pero bajarla es abrumador para mí. Me congelé y no pude dar el paso. Necesitaba ayuda y el amable personal consiguió que una de las universidades ayudara a mi esposa a bajar y la otra me acompañó a las escaleras del personal. Me gustaría agradecer al personal

First time eating here, lovely decor. Had the vegan breakfast which was fab, everything on the plate was delicious. My server Dan was very friendly. Tables were clean, only improvement I'd suggest is making sure chairs/booths are clean too.

Lovely friendly staff, always make you feel welcome and great food.

Will never visit again due to the poor service and terrible staff. The place was disgusting, cannot recommenced enough to avoid this place
