Tesco Cafe in Caerphilly

Food is decent, but the service has gone downhill since they introduced only being only being able to order at a machine. Firstly, I've been told my clubcard can't work with the machines, so if I want the points, I have to take my receipt to customer services afterwards to get them added to my account. One time I couldn't get the free child's meal deal without a clubcard being used, so the member of staff used somebody else's card for my order! It doesn't seem a very satisfactory answer to the problem! Today I visited and felt the service was poor. I ordered a cooked breakfast with sourdough toast and scrambled eggs. First I got my drink, which was fine, but I asked for a teaspoon, which was never brought to me (I had already looked if there was cutlery anywhere I could help myself to, and there wasn't). Then my food arrived with normal white toast, not sourdough, and fried eggs instead of scrambled. I told a member of staff, who just said she would "let them know" (no apology), but nothing ever happened. These are minor problems but irritating - why give options with the cooked breakfast if you're not going to be given what you've chosen? As a busy mum, I don't get many chances to eat out, so this was supposed to be a treat for me. Disappointed. This isn't a criticism of individual staff because they all seem to work very hard and be rushing around constantly, but the system doesn't seem to work very well and customers should be looked after better.

Lovely place for a quick breakfast and coffee, it is just a Tesco cafe but nice all the same 🙂

Had to waiting queue for 20 mins staff behind counterwere busy laughing and chatting to them selves .this is not a one off .been in cafe .3 times lately .and walked out after being in queue for over 15 mins ..

Today ordered breakfast not as good as usual very long wait and hash browns wernt cooked still solid and cold burnt on the outside

Lovely food, friendly staff. Often stop here for a coffee as good value for money and lovely tasting. Always busy which says a lot about it

Had a nice cooked breakfast here, if I had to “complain” about one thing it would be the bacon being a bit under done. But I’m not going to complain because it’s a supermarket cafe not The Ritz! Tasty, good value, friendly staff, what more can people want from a cafe!

Had the ultimate breakfast bap for breakfast and was absolutely packed amazing bap if your gonna have breakfast have the bap it's amazing only waited for about 5 minutes lovely staff aswell really friendl

Went for coffee after a shop and the woman that served me well she was not interested seemed like I was putter her out by asking for a coffee no smile nothing felt like telling her if it was going to be too much trouble not to bother will not be visiting again and will do my main shop else where from now on

food today was very flimsy suppose to be a tescos finest burger and chips with onion rings. the onion ring was burnt and beef burger might as well of been for veggie.

Came here for breakfast. The hashbrowns were still raw. Sausages toast and beans are freezing. And eggs were overcooked, crispy instead of runny

Yet again only paper cups for drinks, when you ask for a pot of tea you dont expect a tea bag floating in a paper cup, was undrinkable but wouldn't replace with something else, and don't get me started on the cost to the environment, when you sit down in a cafe you don't expect a paper cup

Exceptionally expensive prices for poor portion sizes and the drinks too are the best part of £4 for two bottles. The food options to be polite are limited. I feel sorry for the staff having to present this "food" I know this is only a supermarket cafe. However Tesco once upon a time had a good care with many options and even cheap prices.

Paid for a Veggie Sausage Bloomer Breakfast Sandwich to have a Veggie sausage slapped between 2 slices of cheap sliced bread! Told staff who shrugged and walked off no offer of a refund nothing left the sandwich and my custom from tesco there on the table. Will no be visiting the store again

This branch of the Tesco chain is positively the worst I have ever experienced. Really bad choices and when you do ask if they stock something, it always comes out with "no demand for it here". Well, obviously there is if someone is asking! If you can I would recommend using any other local store or the Tesco in Risca....much better.

I appreciate this is a cheap place but customer service and health and safety should in my opinion still exist. The young lady on the till was extremely pleasant but the remainder of my experience was not good. I had to take a table that had the previous customers’ dirty dishes left on it. I naively assumed that the member of staff would clear those away when she brought my drink. She didn’t! She was walking away when I asked her to clear the table and although this was done, it was with bad grace. A nearby table was left dirty with chips on the floor for a long time. The cafe seems to be frequented generally by elderly people, who may not spot this hazard. Tesco, I suggest if your staff are too busy to attend to basic issues, you employ more.

Breakfast was cold and waiting time was over 20 mins but food was cold
