Mr Chippy (Traditional Fish & Chips & Kebabs) in Caerphilly

What a shocking service...ordered £30 worth of food..it came missing half the delivery...wrong stuff on the food....was told after half hour trying yo get hold of them it was wrong...they said it would be 15 min for my proper order...with never turned up...joke ....never ordered from Mr chippy is my advice

Only customer in shop and 20 mins to finish getting served. Only ordered 1 chips and 4 sausages with sauces. Large chip portion was very small, the homemade curry sauce was half oil and the rest watery and inedible. Definitely wouldn’t recommend or return

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! This place NEEDS to be shut town. It took 1 hour 45 mins for a 5 mile drive and 5 portions of chips. We paid for 5 portions of chips and received 4.But was so hungry that we just ate. I would never ever come again. We called multiple times and they were just taking the mic. When it finally arrived the man just laughed. Terrible

Never in my life have I ever and I mean EVER had such poor service like I’m not being funny but 1 houre and 45 minutes!?! Back in my day it would take 3-8 minutes,honestly me and my family was waiting all that time and when we called they would say 5-10 minutes,and was it 5-10 minutes?NO IT WAS NOT , never ever get from them ever plus terrible people xoxo hope you guys get taken down 🙄

Absolute Joke. Took 1 hour and 45 minutes for 5 portions of chips and only revived 4 portions. When the delivery man arrived he just laughed and then apologised. Chips were nothing special and was not worth the wait. My family called multiple times with terrible Customer service. Would not recommend.

It was horrendous. I ordered an hour and 40 minutes ago and it still hasn’t arrived. We called them six times and they haven’t given us any information on where it is.

Would give 0 if it would let me. Ordered meals for 3 people. We didn't receive the sausage in batter and the chicken curry half and half had tiny bits of chicken scraps on the top. Phoned to complain and were told I'd get a discount next time. Made it clear I wanted what I paid for. Was eventually told I'd have new food in 20minutes. Half hour later nothing had arrived so phoned them again. Was told driver had left 5 or 6 minutes ago. 20 minutes later still nothing. Phoned again to be told if we wanted new food we'd have to collect it (thought the driver was on his way with?) Not happy I had to drive there and get it when I'd paid for delivery and I took the trash that was supposed to be chicken curry half and half back to them. Found it very disrespectful when the manager was speaking with the female cook about the food and she would only respond in her own language.

WOULD GIVE 0 STAR REVIEW IF I COULD went straight in the bin swimming in grease and the rude person kept hanging up the phone AVOID AT ALL COST

Very care free attitude from the staff,you don't know how long the food has been standing before you get it

It was absolutely disgusting, I placed an order at 22.19 and they said they could deliver it. So I only ordered 2 burger meals, they didn't arrive with the food until 23.30 and the food was disgusting my burger was solid as in the bun and the chips was absolutely terrible, they were nothing but grease inside and out. Never order from there again. Appalling

Today is my 50th birthday. I've not used Mr Chippy for a few months. Tonight on the way home from pub I decided to get an Extra Large Doner kebab because it's my favourite treat and I don't have it often. So tonight I was really looking forward to getting home and tucking in. But after opening the box I was so disappointed. It was the smallest kebab I've ever had, more like an Extra Small kebab. By the time I took the salad off ... I was only left with with a few small strands of meat. Absolute appalling service from what was once my once favourite chippy. The people serving weren't friendly either. It's not the same Mr chippy anymore. What a shame. I won't go there again and definitely won't recommend them to anyone.

We ordered 2 x large chips, 2 x pies, curry sauce, kebab and 2 kebab wraps.. The food was delivered an hour late but still got asked for a good review.. all the food was cold. The curry sauce was like WATER, pie wasn't cooked and the kebab didn't taste right.. I called them up to explain and the manger was very rude to speak to, he called me a liar and said he wouldn't do anything about it.. he said I was the first person ever to call and complain but that's a lie.. after reading the reviews aswel omg.. I will never order from here again and I will be letting all family and friends know.. really bad customer service and very rude considering.. will never return... Don't know how they are still going.. disgusting food and service.

Ordered from here through just eat, they refused to honour the deal we had, only sent one pizza which wasn't the one we ordered, it was undercooked, the deliver driver demanded "good comments" and when I called the shop I got told "they don't know" very rude!!

Not bad food, standard chip shop wait was a bit long though food arrived an hour after the time assigned.

Such a beautiful polite lady delivered our food nice and hot. Her service was Amazing. We would love you to deliver to us everytime. Very quick. Lovely smile with wonderful manners. Thank you lovely lady.

awful service, chips are mid, high prices, smells bad

We ordered from here for the final time last week. Every so often the service is OK...but then there are very bad days. The biggest problem is usually portion size and this time was no exception... We had two chicken curry with rice, neither of which were a full portion. There was more food in our daughter's kids meal. There was also a portion of chips missing...and all of it was cold. But the best part was the state of the food... We can only assume the delivery driver was in fact a stunt driver, because both curries had lost all their sauce which had emptied into the bag and then filled the tray containing my doner kebab AND the kids meal. Needless to say, the meal was ruined... Sorry Mr Chippy, but you lost a customer. I don't recommend this place, especially if you are very hungry because you are not guaranteed to eat the food that turns up, which after a 90 minute wait could mean it is too late to order from another takeaway!

Absolutely shocking service. I ordered around 8pm and didn't have the food until an hour and a half later. When I received the food, there were items missing and when I phoned the shop to tell them, the worker put the phone down on me and was very rude. I received my missing items and it was very undercooked. I then had to drive down to the shop (while i had already paid for all of the food to be delivered) and the worker was still very rude and refused to give me any sort of refund and was still continuously rude. I finally did get a small amount of money back but still not happy.

Absolutely disgusting food , chips weren't even chips they're were all smushed together, chesse burger was rank couldnt even hold it bread was dripping in sauce and grease. the burger it self was full of fat and tasted horrible and the onion ring were also dripping in oil and were tough 🤮

Utter horrid food, had ordered fish and chips, one bit of the fish tasted really horrid, left bad taste in my mouth, something tells me the fish was likely left out and then they cooked it, because i have never had that taste from a fish, but lucky it didnt make me ill, not recommended.

I wish I had read the reviews b4 I ordered food last night. The food was inedible, I had cod and chips, but it wasn’t cod, dont know what it was but it stunk, lots of bones aswell, the chips was all ends and very skinney, fruity curry sauce was like water, was very disappointed as it wasn’t cheap either, also had a mixed kebab, the mint sauce looked gone off, the meat was awful. I highly recommend NOBODY orders food from here and they won’t refund us any money back either, not happy at all 😡😡😡

Just ordered from Just Eat.... JUST DON'T. The large cod was the size of a small, it was inedible because of the amount of bones inside (one piece seriously looked like a piece of plastic). The chips are skinny and overcooked.. Also cold! Battered sausage tasted horrible and certainly was not fresh! Won't be ordering from here again.

Always get the order wrong. Takes forever to get delivered anyways let alone replaced aswell.

I bought my girlfriend n myself a kebab 2nite it was rank I wouldn't recommend anyone 2 eat frm this place when I phoned em bk today thy told me thy can only give me 1 free kebab when the 2 kebabs was rank it cost me 16.00 n thy want me 2 pay for the next delivery I wouldn't give a homeless guy a kebab frm there.people wants 2 watch thy don't ave food poison from mr chippy no wonder people give them 1 star its the worst kebab shop in caerphilly trading standards should go in there thy will soon close them down the food is absolutely stinking.

Chips are always a thousand years old and the chicken tikka is so salty i tried to shake it over my jesus aged chips

Pizza was cold, overcooked, bland and greasy. Also order was wrong. Food is inedible and customer service is horrendous. These people shouldn't even have a license, worse place I've ever encountered. BEWARE!!

Ordered a 'large' donnar kebab with chips. What they did was put the chips into a carton and placed the meat and salad on top. Cut a long story short ..virtually NO MEAT. Considering this was a 'large' one I would have expected a carton full of meat and salad and a bag of chips seperate. Lovely taste, just penny pinching by stuffing full of chips and verbally no meat. Disappointing.

These great reviews must have been left by the owners relatives. By far the worst food I've ever had delivered. As if the food weren't bad enough and the delivery driver claimed he couldn't give the 80p change from a £20 note.. When we complained, they wouldn't replace the terrible fish and chips. Child's Cheeseburger almost made her sick. And items were left out of the order.They refused a refund and their customer service is pathetic! Absolute joke of a takeaway! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS DUMP!

Have been using this site for the last 2 years Always fresh if you go and collect. Otherwise a 90 minute wait for a 5 minute delivery and always missing something. I've called several times to discuss with the owner but more interested in defending their delivery times than the quality of their food! Strongly recommend other services for better food!

By far the best Fish and Chips in Caerphilly. I order via Just Eat app as a treat. The delivery is always quick, the food is piping hot and cooked to perfection. The homemade curry sauce is truly yummy. I highly recommend this chippy.

Me and my friends were looking for a new fish and chips to try. Today we decided to check out Mr chippy and loved it! The staff are super friendly and polite and the food was great. Will definitely be going there again in the future ☺️

Missed the drinks off our order however with a little call got my drinks and a replacement chips to make up for the inconvenience.

Lovely food! I've ordered here a few times now and each Time its been great! Lovely staff I've spoken to over the phone. Delivery Time is always accurate or earlier than expected. Overall lovely customer service and delicious food ! Highly reccomend. :)

Three times we have ordered with mr chippy for delivery and every time we have had to wait more than two hours for our food and last time when the food got here it was cold, called them and it doesnt matter what day it is i get the same excuse " sorry mate we have been really busy", i can understand that at the weekends but in mid-week really ???? Seems like someone is taking the piss a bit. goes without saying we wont be having mr chippy again unless we can really help it.

I usually have fish and chips, the fish is always cooked to order. Plenty of menu choices, but have yet to try the pizza, kebab options.

Ordered through Just Eat, firstly was given wrong order, then when our order turned up it was disgusting, not fresh, lukewarm and it was definitely overpriced for the quality of the food, will never order from there again! Not a proper chip shop! Apparently they only score a 1 for food hygiene too! If I'd known that before ordering I would have avoided!

Awful food ordered fish and chips needed a hammer to get through the batter and the chips were stone cold when it come to the curry sauce it tasted like soap rang shop didnt give to toots aragant man,, after I dished it out I thought this stuff wasn't fit to eat rang the shop back said please can you send someone to pick up this food as it was disgusting and I wanted my money back got to the shop because they wouldn't come out because I taken it out of the chip shop wrappers and put curry on my food they wouldn't give money back either what a waste I would never ever use them again stay clear of them aggressive rude people I wouldn't of even have given them 1 star totally shocking how can customers me treated like this 😡😡😡😡😡

Order was wrong. Pizza was soggy, tasteless and undercooked. Onion rings tasted like cardboard. Definitely won’t be returning.

Usually great food, however several times my order has been wrong or left items out. First, was a pizza that was supposed to have chicken and had spicy chicken instead, not a big deal I get it. Second, missing a can of Pepsi max from a meal deal even after I told him there was supposed to be three cans with the order. Third, onion rings tasted like soap. Won’t be returning again.

The only reason for 1 star is because I couldn't leave zero.. New owners have a very aggressive attitude refused to re-send missing food then refused a refund so when I went to the shop to ask for a refund the owner got very nasty complaining it was only a couple of quid then threatened me saying he had my address from delivery. police were called because of his aggression he was made to pay money back but please don't risk ordering from this place more hassle than its worth especially if your order is wrong or they owe you money
