Mr Chippy (Traditional Fish & Chips & Kebabs) in Caerphilly

Ordered from here for the family. All 3 of us ended up with food poising which caused 1 of the family members (my father) to be admitted to hospital. The food tasted awful! The kebab meat tasted like it had been left out for a week and then reheated in the microwave before being slapped in a box with what seems like a whole bottle of oil tipped all over the top. I will NEVER order food from here again and I suggest people look at the reviews and the food hygiene rating before buying from here themselves. I can see why the hygiene rating is 1 and shows as significant improvement needed. I won’t be surprised if this establishment gets closed because of their poor excuse of food.

Food was fresh, warm and tasty. It did take much longer than the JustEat estimate which was a shame, delivered approximately 1hr 25mins after ordering. Good value for money with app discount this weekend - would consider re-ordering and recommend MrChippy 🤙🏼

Never again. Hard, greasy chips, tasted as if cooked twice after left standing. Large curry sauce was less than half a carton full. Pizza was also not very nice. Dough base tasted undercooked. Total waste of money. Will never order again. Not even worth 1 star.

Would give a 0, must be under new management, use to be my go too and any problems where swiftly rectified. Ordered food for 4 kids and 2 adults. One kids meal arrived with 4 drinks half of myewl arrived and my partner's meal didn't show. Told me they would sort it, rang multiple times to be left ringing or hung up on me, 20 mins later answered my partner's number and said manger said we received full order.. and won't send more out (wouldn't have rang them if we received full order). Won't be using this shop ever again! Spent £50 for £25 worth of food disgusting

Fair play since 1cock up with order/ delivery about 12 months ago, any orders we've had have been spot on

wrong pizza delivered, put the wrong toppings on it, they added mushrooms and peppers when my partner is allergic to mushrooms and then refused to replace the pizza or give the money back. absolutely diabolical, argued over the phone with us stating that the BBQ base we ordered also contained mushrooms and peppers so we ordered it apparently.

Food was not edible. Not sure what meat was in the 'lamb' doner but it sure wasn't lamb.

Worst Experience Ever Experienced. Was Promised a full refund from the owners, but Just Eat have refused. My food was delivered to the wrong address after waiting 1.5h, then 3h later (10pm) food arrives at my doorby the owner? that I refused as we were due to go to Bed, but they insisted we accept along with a full refund. Really annoyed with this not only as we had to bin the food but now no promisedrefund? Restaurant I would appreciate a response and reason why thiswas promosed but now refused

The food was late but it is a Saturday evening and the driver was absolutely lovely so made up for it. The food quantity was excellent also. The pizzas are huge and are square so fit the whole box!

Usually Mr Chippy is excellent. We often order from them, this time 2 fish were inedible (tasted, smelt and looked like reheated from morning or night before), chips overcooked/reheated. 1st night of Euros to blame? Very disappointing

Meal was absolutely disgusting, chips were not cooked, really white and cold. The chicken look like it had been cooked 5 days ago, onion rings was soggy, overall really disappointing and had to order other food. Will not be returning

ordered a kebab and chips. what turned up was the most rancid thing ive ever seen, with PUDDLES of grease leaking through the container and paper. totally inedible

the chips were probably the only good thing about our meal the burgers were undercooked , the gravey tasted like they just used Oxo cube and boiling water and there was next to no cheese on the garlic bread... very disappointed to say the least

Fish was huge, kebab meat both lamb and chicken were good. only 1 small thing was the salad with with the lamb kebab was poor, I asked for all salad minus the onions, which was correct, but the lettuce was realistically non existent, but that alone would not stop me from ordering again.

Fruity curry sauce was horrific and the batter on the fish, soft and tasted of oil. Will never use again.

I ordered a kebab wrap with salad it came soaked in grease tub of curry and it was weirdly lumpy like potatoes in it chips were like solid my child's chicken nuggets were soggy never again!!

If I could leave a minus score I would! Food was late & warm...at best. Worst part for the chips is that the 'large' chips ordered and paid for must have eaten themselves on the way, probably starving as it took so long. The chicken and mushroom apparently pie was lacking filling, but the lid could be doubled up as a discus, so bonus if you take part in the olympics. The fruity curry sauce, we could only determine it was that because of the other 2 shocking sauces we ordered. It was a car crash of a chippy tea!
