Teapot Bistro in Neath Port Talbot

Fab quirky little place (off the beaten track so you need to find it first) but great friendly service and reasonably priced tasty cafe food. Came here as a group of 10 cyclists and they managed to serve the whole group with cooked food (bacon rolls) within 15 minutes.

Interesting place, with friendly, welcoming service, and good value for money. Shame there are no healthy options on the menu, but otherwise can recommend

Absolute gem of a place. It's almost hidden, in what appears to be old squash courts behind Cwmafan FC. We went there for breakfast on a long bike ride. The café is upstairs, and we hadn't brought locks with us so were reluctant to leave the bikes outside. They very kindly made room for our bikes inside even though it was a little awkward for them to find the space. Generous, extremely good value full breakfasts including seemingly unlimited cafetière coffee, plus some mini Jammie Dodgers to go in the back pocket for a cycling snack later. Although there appears to be not much on the menu for vegetarians, they will build a good bespoke veggie breakfast by swapping in plenty of whatever else you want instead of the meaty bits, and they make an effort to cook and serve things how you ask for them. You get loads of toast and a generous pot of real butter. The whole place is a fantastic community hub with a 24-hour gym, a climbing centre, and probably lots more besides - you go up past the viewing gallery for the old courts to get to the café, which is characterful and cosy and full of hundreds of novelty tea-pots and all manner of interesting artefacts. Every village/small town needs a place like this - long may it thrive.

My mate and I were mountain biking at Afan and wanted to find somewhere for breakfast (Afan cafe was closed for some reason). We found the tea pot cafe, and what a find. Lovely lovely people running it, proper characterful place and spot on food. Really interesting and quirky inside. So pleased we found this place and it will be our “go to” breakfast place from now on when in Afan.

I stumbled across this beautiful place by luck and I am SO pleased I did. You would never expect it to be situated where it is. Absolutely lovely inside- you will never get bored of things to look at! The food and service were both amazing. I cannot fault anything. Warm and friendly staff. Along with being very reasonably priced! You will not be disappointed if you visit and I would highly recommend you try this place out. Me, my partner and 3 children left with full bellys and smiling faces..... Thankyou for such a pleasant experience.

A place full of character with an excellent afternoon tea, lots of choice and plenty of it all served in delightful china. Not the easiest place to find and the access let's it down but worth the effort.

First time visiting for afternoon tea brought my sister in law and niece.. So much food that we ended up taking some home. The triffle was really good. The service was great👍

We always eat at the Teapot every time we come here. The service is always excellent. Staff and friendly and efficient. The food is always good. And so is the price. You deserve more than 5 but that's all I can give you. Stunning x

Absolutely lovely place! Food is typical everyday cafe food cooked to perfection! The ambience of the place is just so relaxing and perfect. Who doesn’t like a bit of Frank Sinatra playing in the background! The Bistro is above Cwmavon football club and the main entrance is stairs but there is a stairlift if required

My daughter sent 2 picnic boxes for my birthday yesterday for my sister a I wow was all we could say each full of delicious food a large selection of savoury and 2 sweet we only managed to eat half will continue today for lunch, I can highly recommend this ladies food trays 10 out of 10

After walking around Neath shops for over an hour we decided to have a cuppa and cake somewhere on the way back to the car park and found this gem up a lane next to W H Smith's

Breakfast served all day... BONUS We've been there a few times now and are working our way through the menu... So far we've genuinely enjoyed everything... however, it's so hard to choose a favourite as the breakfast, steak and ale pie and chicken curry were so amazing, you really should have them all and decide for yourself ... Fantastic prices too and kids meals are lovely too. Best thing is, it's good quality and there's an onsite gym should you decide to burn off those calories. Check out the club's for the kids and adults too. Nice community feel and so welcoming. Really a home from home!!!...

Have eaten breakfast on several occasion at the Teapot and without doubt the best breakfasts I've ever had anywhere. Food is prepared and cooked to order and no matter what you want they will mix up the menu to suit your requirements. Staff and service are second to none the price is jokingly cheap and the premises clean and i can only describe as very comfortable quaint. Can not recommend highly enough

We went there as a family for afternoon tea. There were 4 adults and 2 children. The food that we had was more than enough for us all and we even had some cakes to take home with us. The cost was very reasonable I would recommend it to everyone

I came across this place while visiting afan argoed some walkers told me about it I was mountain biking in the afan Valley it is a beautiful clean cafe bistro food is amazing and the owners Phil ,& dawn were so friendly a lovely warm welcome,there is a gym downstairs and upstairs is the cafe bistro if anyone is visiting afan afford or port Talbot I'd recommend you call in this Hidden gem of a place and have food ect they welcome anyone they were excellent with my 2 children I will definitely be coming again when I visit port Talbot on our bikes 5 star service.kind regards Darren & family.

Really friendly staff and delightfully served drinks. The food is good value, this is a hidden gem. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the menu is predominantly (albeit very nice) greasy spoon or stodgy dinners. Being attached to a gym it would be nice to see some much healthier options.

This place is a hidden gem. When you climb the stairs and turn right the Teapot Bistro is not at all what you would expect as you enter the building. There are beautiful China teapots and comfortable seats all around. The owners are very friendly and can't do enough for you. They brought my 5 year old daughter a colouring pad and a huge choice of pencils without being asked which was a big help. The breakfasts were all fantastic with every item on the plate tasting absolutely wonderful. The bacon was almost as thick as gammon and cooked perfectly. We couldn't believe how little the bill came to. It was fantastic value and I can't recommend this place highly enough.

You wouldn't know this lovely place was here but having found it we will be going back again. Our first visit was for afternoon tea, lovely sandwiches, lots of different cakes and scones and jam with proper cream, yummy, choice of hot or cold drinks, We loved seeing all the teapots and what a friendly lady serving us.

This Bistro is a local secret - tucked away behind the Cwmafan Football Club - it is run by Dawn and Phil Spence - and my wife and I enjoy breakfast there almost every day-and breakfast is available all day - £3.50 gets you Egg (how you like it), Bacon, Baked Beans, Sausage, Mushrooms, Tomato, Hash Browns & Black Pudding. It comes with toast, a preserve and tea or coffee! If you haven't eaten for days you can spend an extra £1 and double it!!! Great, friendly banter -highly recommended for hikers and bikers (its right on the Afan Valley Cycle track).

It's not the place you would normally think to visit. It's in an old building that was squash courts next to the football field. I actually didn't believe my friend when she said there was a cafe here. Thought it was going to be awful......but it wasn't at all! The furniture is a bit dated but it doesn't matter. They have teapots everywhere! All different shapes and styles. We only had coffee but they do cakes and even breakfasts. They were busy for customers on a rainy Weds morning so it's obviously a well kept secret. We will be back the kids will love it.
