Tean's Thai Kitchen in Teignbridge

What an amazing place! The food is fantastic, really tasty and vibrant. The atmosphere is great, the restaurant is very well decorated and exceptionally clean. To the lady managing the service, you are so beautiful and elegant. Thank you! Will definitely be back.

Wonderful staff, food & atmosphere.

First visit to Teans Thi Kitchen and we absolutely loved it. Great restaurant - super clean and a stylish dining area. Service was excellent. Quick and friendly. The food was excellent. Great presentation and really tasty. Portion size was generous and I was particularly pleased with the number of prawns in my green curry. Our one criticism was the curries were too sweet and not quite spicy enough. The waitress said that was to accommodate UK tastes which is probably accurate! But next time we are going to ask for a more Thai taste experience with less palm suger and more of the good stuff! Anyway all in all we loved our visit and will definitely be back. Very friendly staff and delicious food, though primarily a restaurant, they do offer takeaway service - hands down the best takeaway in Newton abbot. The only negative feedback I’d give, is that at £17.30 for red chicken curry and sticky rice it’s by far the most expensive takeaway in Newton - fine in itself, it’s probably also the best, as such representing value and I’m happy to pay. However, the portion of sticky rice that individually costs £4 is minuscule, especially in comparison to the size of the curry - a generous portion (as pictured). Though it bugs me every time I order, I still do keep going back😁! although if truth be told, probably less than if every time I order, Im left with a whole load of curry and no remaining accompaniment!

Excellent food. Loved it, 10/10. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try thai food or anyone else who just simply loves Thai. My tastebuds were exquisitely satisfied.

Food is tasty but expensive for what it is. The ladies who run the place are really nice. I am reducing 1 start because we went at around 5 pm and they only had yellow curry on menu. They said they are going to make other curries (green, panang etc) but I'll need to come back later. I felt this was too late to start a business which relies on daytime tourists who park their cars and want to grab a takeaway. That said, it was a hot day and I excuse the lovely ladies as I wouldn't want to be cooking in that heat either. I thank them for their service and food.

Amazing atmosphere and fantastic service by the waitress. Food was served hastily and tasted superb. The restaurant decoration had character and the music was subtle whilst relaxing. However, I would say the lighting was a little bright and would have been more atmospheric if the spotlights were dimmed. Other than that, five stars guaranteed.

Have been here a few times now on my travels south & it never disappoints. Staff always very friendly & the food brings back memories of visiting Thailand, the fresh food is just a joy to taste. Well worth the effort to make a small detour to experience the delights of Tean’s Thai

Staff were polite and. Really disappointed with food, the chicken and prawn texture were dry. Green Thai curry was more oily than creamy. My pad Thai also was greasy no lime or nuts with it. Myself and partner enjoy Thai food because it feels light normally rather than greasy will not be back.

Really good meal and great experience

We stopped for a Saturday lunch, great food (lunch time special, 2 course for £13.75), fast friendly service, spotless loos. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely lunch platter on a Saturday lunch time. The food was very tasty and good value at £13.95 for 2 courses. Service was excellent and the toilets were exceptional. I don't live locally but this would be my go to Thai if I did.

First time we went there we had a takeaway, the food was delicious and full with flavour.

As a thai person who lives in the UK , this restaurant is so so so good , I visited here with my husband on 14th Feb 24 and we will back again and more for sure, all staff were so friendly and best service ❤️ , I feel like home again, very happy .... MADE MY DAY

We had a birthday table for 8 and found the service very friendly and efficient and the food delicious. Very extensive menu, food beautifully presented. They also went the extra mile in helping with choices for one of our guests who needed more information about ingredients. My first visit and hope to return soon, thank you.

Absolutely gorgeous food, I order Thai Red curry Thai style, pad Thai and chicken satay's. (Think I spelt that right). Had 1 bit and the taste took me back to Thailand. Has to be the best Thai food I've had. Hightly recommend. Also excellent customer service. Very friendly staff and got taught a few word in Thai.

We are currently on holiday and found Tean’s Thai kitchen online, the food was absolutely amazing and the staff were very friendly. Newton Abbot is lucky to have this lovely restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely return.

Amazing experience and amazing staff

Had my first takeaway from here this evening - food was outstanding, couldn't fault it. Would definitely recommend Tean's.

My partner and I were visiting her sister and they took us to Tean's Thai Kitchen. I was very impressed with the food and the service. Our waiter was Tanyaporn, she was fantastic! The kitchen has an open section were you can see the chefs working away on our food. I made sure to thank them for the delicious meal. We also purchased a beer tower which was a nice addition to our meal. I will definitely be returning next time I'm visiting my partners sisters family. Highly recommended. Great authentic experience.

Was a party of 7, and they did a really good job. The service was great with one being very funny. They forgot my main but the man brought it out and made a joke out of it. That went down well and made the eleventh more enjoyable. I wish I knew his name. Food was very tasty and the starter looked amazing. With carrot flowers ).

My partner and I attended a dinner with friends at Tean Thai on Saturday night. The restaurant was extremely busy (full to capacity) yet we were made to feel very welcome as all the staff couldn't do enough to help us. The food was fantastic as always, we are regulars at the restaurant and to be honest it's the best place to eat in town. All the food is cooked fresh to a very high standard, our favourite is the Tom Yum soup! We had a great evening, good food, good service and always with a smile. We will definitely be going again and would recommend the restaurant to anyone. Thanks again, see you soon Mark and Ness :)

Cant fault it at all, food was amazing. So tasty so much flavour. Group of 6 and every single one of us enjoyed it soo much, even the fussy ones!! Service was amazing, on top of refilling our drinks and water. Gorgeous resturaunt, lovely decor.

Visited last week and was so disappointed compared to the last time we came. The fish cakes were rubbery and oily and the main course was very oily too. My husbands beef salad and the coconut rice were nice

What a wonderful restaurant this is. Clean, welcoming, fresh food and very good value for money. Me & my friend had the set menu, a lot of choice and was very yummy. Will be here again to enjoy more of the wonderful menu.

First time here, fully booked on a Tuesday, always a good sign. Staff friendly, smiling, efficient and all reasonably priced. Amazing authentic food would recommend 100%.

The food was lovely and good sized portions. Service was good and staff were attentive. Shame there was a customer there that had to be extremely explicit and rude (very loud and obviously didn't mind everyone hearing his business) which ruined the atmosphere somewhat but we will definitely be back.

We visted this restaurant while in the area on holiday, such a shame we are not local. We would be back regularly. The food was amazing, as soon as we walked in we were made to feel very welcome, all the staff were very nice and could not do enough for us. Newton Abbot you are very lucky to have such an Amazing Thai Restaurant.

Best restaurant and takeaway in Newton Abbot by a mile, possibly best Thai restaurant in South Devon.

Absolutely first class Thai food. The restaurant has an authentic feel, really nicely decorated. Service was good and the food was top notch with everything cooked to perfection and perfectly sized portions. Prices were on the mark for what you get. We really couldn't find fault with anything. We will definitely visit again and highly recommend for a taste of Thailand's wonderful cuisine and an authentic experience.

Horrible food, overpriced ....don't know why it has good reviews ,small portions rip off....I wouldn't want to return if you paid me . I don't touch the pad Thai and I told you I didn't like it so why would you charge someone that makes no sense . Why would I pay for something that tasted awful. Yes that is not to my taste so why should I pay ...never heard of anywhere that charges someone if they don't touch a meal and send it back. I was not aggressive at all your approach was aggressive when I said I didn't like the pad Thai ...I have a right to say I don't like something so don't expect me to pay either . I am the most humble person going but your service was very unprofessional . You charged £7 for some prawn crackers and we had about 10 crackers ....my husband was actually disgusted by you but he could see you was aggressive and not friendly so didn't want drama with you ....you know nothing about me to make such silly remarks .my husband would not want to return he hated the food to and the unprofessional manner in which you approached is when we challenged paying for a meal we didn't have ....the other customers didn't not see or hear what you did so it could good in your favour ...the food was rank and I don't normally complain ..wouldn't have complained if you didn't charge is for the uneaten food

They've got really good Thai food, would definitely recommend. Had their green curry and enjoyed it so much.. the chicken satay was quite underwhelming, but the green curry definitely made up for it. Service and atmosphere was impeccable.

Amazing Thai restaurant, great atmosphere and friendly and welcoming staff.

The staff here couldn't do enough to make sure we had what we wanted. My wife's illnesses makes it hard to eat some ingredients but the staff bent over backwards to make her order so she could enjoy it, nothing was too much trouble. I recommend Teams Thai Kitchen to everyone.

As one of the ‘meat eaters’ mentioned in a previous review, I can happily confirm the food was fabulous! Our good friends took us here and I can see why they are regulars! We mix and matched some chicken and vegetarian dishes between us and I couldn’t fault any of it. My favourite was the Thai green curry! The restaurant was busy but the service to our large group was very good and always completed with a smile. Can’t wait to come back next time we visit Devon.

Lovely resturant I visited here when we and my partner stayed in torquay excellent staff really friendly food was excellent cant fault it really clean nice decor like it u get starter and main meal on one plate at lunchtime session really nice and tasty meal will be visiting again when come down again thank u to all the staff wud highly recommend this thai restaurant

Me and my other half visit Teans every other month or so we love it so much. The food is authentic, delish, fresh, wide range of choice and the staff are brilliant if you have questions on any of it. We are always welcomed in with open arms and service is always top notch. We have never been disappointed, we take our friends there (as well as recommend to others) and they have all loved it too. I can’t rave about Tean’s enough! Their Singha beer tower is great fun to have as well!

Review is for Takeaway, not eating in, we've eaten in before and been very pleased! Takeaway Pad Thai was bland and the sauce was clearly a packet sauce as it hadn't been mixed properly and was clumpy...not exactly authentic cuisine. No bean sprouts in there either.. just seemed like someone put it all together in a rush. Unfortunately we won't be ordering takeaway from here again.
