Taza Restaurant in Dundee City

Taza restaurant is type of buffet which offers variety of foods like lamb curry,. Good starter which includes pakora and all stuff, there is no refill drinks but price is good mostly 1.60 - 2.50 for drinks and about 24 per person. Especially the river view is amazing near to dundee train station about 9-11 minutes walk.

I went to Taza… once in July and once in September. We parked our car in front of restaurant assuming it was restaurant parking which is a common sense. For customers restaurants buy parking space. But nearly after 8 months from September I received a notice today that i parked in illegal space and i have to pay 510 pounds. Even the staff didn’t tell us that it was not their parking. Do not go there if you own a car. This is so stupid… not providing parking space to the customers and we parked literally in front of the restaurant. If we had any idea or we had received the notice earlier when we went there for the first time we would have never done that.

I completely forgot i had a good review to type up! I had a booking of 5 people on Tuesday past at 12:30pm. Got seen almost 30mins early by a warm welcome (short lady with the black/ brown hair). I've seen her before with a welcoming smile and great service. For 3 of the Party it was their first time at Taza with one of us having a Mushroom allergy. He luckily had a good amount of items available due to up to date and easy allergen signage. We were served by another very attentive and lovely Waitress named Denny. (Sorry if I got spelling wrong!)... we had a few fun tales to trade, her winning smile I could come back to and her service too. All in all a fabulous experience leaving us comfortably full. The first timers were definitely will be back!. Thank you ♥️

Great buffet with a vast selection of food, nice attentive service and good central location with parking (paid).

As always the taza is the number one choice for a meal out always consistently good, very welcoming staff, not to noisy to take friends or family great selection of starters and mains the freshly cooked kebab section brought to your table can't ask for better and there desert section is also fab. There deliverys are also spot on all the time

Eaten here many times, decided time to give thoughts. Food is amazing each time, I can never resist going back for a few starters then sample 3-4 curry dishes. Love the garlic naan. Desserts are a huge selection of cakes sweets street food and ice cream. I'm usually rolled home afterwards as eaten too much but like many, can't help it. The staff are all very friendly and they get to know the regulars and ask how the family is, how work is. They know their customers well and like to look after them. The dining area host, some young guy with looks to kill will come over and speak to you, see all ok, point out the specials, regale you with stories. He's a delight to be served by and adds to the atmosphere. I'd eat here every night if I could! Well worth the money and always leave a generous tip to express my gratitude.

Taza is a Restaurant in the old fashioned style with no commitment to the customer's needs and taste. We don't think they cook food with fresh herbs and spices. The smell of the food really has irritated us. The atmosphere is very unpleasant. Seating arrangements are not ideal for customers to eat comfortably. You keep bumping into the customers over and over again. It's really annoying when customers can't take their seats properly and eat comfortably. The restaurant has a smaller buffet with fewer items with 'No Taste' at all. The meal is certainly not good value ...

Starters, Curries and desserts are all amazing including the grill that’s cooked fresh and delivered to your table. Have been going for years and is our little lads fav. Staff are always great.

I’ve had many experiences dining in and deliveries, staff are amazing and helpful. My favourite starters that is a must try are fish pakoras, onion bhajis and there chunky chips, for mains can’t go wrong with the chicken/lamb on the bone homestyle biryani. Taza is the best buffet in Dundee by far, all the food is really fresh and full of flavour. Staff is super friendly and the manager shohaib is a top bloke always goes above and beyond for us whenever we go in.

Always a safe choice when eating out with a big group of family, especially for the kids. Highly recommend if visiting Dundee and looking for authentic Indian food.

Not worth the money for the selection and quality of food on offer. They have the same prices if not more as some of the elite buffets found in England e.g Royal Nawab, who justify the price point with the selection of food on offer. No lamb chops, no prawns, no authentic curries or rice dishes, the list goes on. Sure, if you just wanna shovel down sub standard curries this is the place for you.

I have visited three times there for Buffet at both for dinner and lunch, and once for evening snacks in transit. Food taste is really good and must visiting place for Asian people who wants to have a good moment with good food.

Manager is disrespectful , unprofessional and doesn’t know how to speak with customers. If you ask anything fresh , he is like everyone eating same you have to eat what we display. Not happy with his service.

Visited with friends really disappointed with the behaviour of management no fresh nan bread we ask they say everyone eating 😂 we can't serve fresh nan we ask roti they say we charging very low price for buffet we can't serve roti so we paid separately for roti and lamb was finished and the manager keep saying it's not finishedn 😂 😂 😂 I showed him and he was still non serious attitude and refilled with not properly unfreeze after 10 to 15 mins definitely not recommended.

Called in here for an evening meal. Was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. We only had the vegetarian choices but there were plenty to choose from. It's worth checking the pricing policy before you go as it varies on different days and also different times.

First time at this place, and it did not disappoint. The food was hot. Rice wasn't dry. The pakora batter was nice and soft. The curries were delicious. Tried the chilli naan bread, and that was so tasty (I'd never had it before). Pricing was decent too. Will definitely be back 😋

Very nice place but I ended up with food poisoning

Second time visiting and this place is fault less ! The food is delicious as well as the cocktails… I recommend the mocktail with rose syrup 😍there is lot of staff available and they are all very professional and friendly ! I love this place and you really get a 5 stars experience for a very fair price. We paid around 67 for 3 people and we had 2 drinks 🍹 each and coffee … I believe it is very fair for the quality we received.

For an Indian-style buffet, the restaurant can be a good option. Some of the buffet items were really delicious, while others were average. However, I was a bit disappointed with the variety of dishes and their limited biryani options. The kebab items were good, but you have ask them to prepare and they will bring them to your table. The staff inside the restaurant were very helpful and friendly. The booking system online was also very easy.

Fantastic buffet with huge selection of dishes. Will have to go back to try the dishes I couldn't manage to try this time. Good for kids we had 5 adults 4 kids age 4 to 9 everyone found something to enjoy. Especially when it came to dessert kids went back for more icecream and goodies.

Prices have gone up, and they’ve added a student discount, but the food’s still the same. Bit disappointing, to be honest. Would be better if they upped the student discount or knocked a bit off the buffet price

Great variety and the price is right too, the madras was hot enough to scratch that itch for heat, thank you.

If you are a vegetarian you will not find anything to eat here. And food test is very poor.

This name is TAZA( fresh ), but your food is literally bad, and yogurt products had a stinky smell and hard to eat. This is really disappointing for today's food. Taza(fresh) wasn't TAZA today.

We had best halwa poori.. the chana and halwa both were delicious and they have very good customer service.

Taza is our family's favourite of all time. Gluten free safe staff very knowledgeable and helpful.

We were all very impressed with the amount of choice in this buffet. Chicken tikka and other meat were also available to order freshly from the counter which was a great touch. Food was great. Pudding was lovely too.

Great place. Indian Buffet with great labelling of allergens. Many starters and all the mains were Gluten Free. There was even something for desert which was brought to my table .

The service and atmosphere was good, but seeing a member of the food prep team, elbow deep, without gloves for any PPE on in a large bowl of batter(infront of all the customers), mixing and coating the chicken pakora. At least I know where the hair in my food came from.

Visited on Saturday afternoon. Service, when needed (drinks etc) was quick. The food was self service style. There was plenty of options to choose from which was great because I love Indian food, so it was a good way to try different dishes. All the food was hot and tasty and the food areas were really clean. Excellent value for money! We will be back the next time we visit Dundee. We wish you were closer si we could come more often.

We had a buffet and 2 beers for around £30 each. Very helpful staff. I did find myself getting a bit of everything which blended into 1. Nice curries and choices. Closed by 9.30 pm so last ones in there.

If you don't eat much, not worth the money. Advertised £10-20 Actual for one small plate £24.50 Will never use again!

Absolutely love Taza, especially their authentic dishes, they're so unlike anything I can find anywhere else. Also, freshest tasting naan and just Indian food in general in Dundee and honestly wonderful staff and incredible food.

Overall atmosphere is nice. Customer service is average. They do have wide selection of dishes. However, food is average.

Small selection of Starters, soggy batter on the chicken pakora. The main meals were tasteless and the chicken was like rubber. To top it off it’s £24.99. Never again

Wow this has the very best Indian cuisine I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. I have traveled the world and spent time in India and the is easy the equal of all the tastes and variations. Full marks Taza and keep up your amazing standard

First visit to Taza and we’ll definitely return, the food on offer was delicious, fresh and had obviously not been sitting around. The staff members were helpful, well mannered and we didn’t feel rushed at all. The cleanliness is second to none in ever area of the restaurant. Value for money is obvious and the drinks were reasonably priced also. Keep up the good work!

What a great buffet. The staff were lovely and even offered a birthday sing song for my daughter. I cannot recommend this place enough.

We travelled from Glasgow to Dundee for the weekend and visited Taza for the second time and we were definitely not disappointed. The selection of food was amazing and everything right down to the service was second to none. Even although it was very busy all the staff were very attentive and worked diligently. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem. Keep up the great work!!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taza an all halal buffet Indian restaurant with my friends and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm and friendly service that made us feel right at home. The buffet spread was impressive, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I was particularly impressed with the quality and taste of the food. Each dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, the biryani was fragrant and flavorful, and the naan bread was soft and fluffy. I've been here twice and it was amazing both times! The mocktails are the best I've had hands down, and I really appreciate that the price of the drinks are reasonable and they don't fill the cup to the brim with ice so you're only getting two sips. I felt the price was very good and the quality of the food and the options were exceptional. Customer service was top notch, the owner was there working just as hard as his staff members. Love this place and will be back again and again!

The food was brilliant. The staff were very helpful, kind and approachable. My fav was the dessert section. I had starters with mains, I also had dessert mixed in between. Everyone was free to choose what they wanted and how they wanted it.

I absolutely adore the seating, especially when I get one by the lake. I've been there twice now, and each time has been fantastic. The waitstaff is absolutely wonderful and so friendly. I love this restaurant, they offer such a wide variety of food, from an Indian buffet to a street food buffet, and even a salad and sweet buffet! It's such a great experience sitting by the lake, I just can't get enough

We were here at Easter this year,and it didn't dissapoint,it was mobbed,excellent food and draught lager,booked again on 1/9/24 and what a difference half empty,cold starters and bottled beer(rip off),we were asked for more drinks 4 times,when glassies were awash,they even asked if I wanted to leave a tip(which I normally do)but not this time,won't be back😡

My partner & I have ordered a few times from Taza with no issues. However our last order on 13/08/24 was exceptionally poor. The curries did not taste or look anything like previous orders. Both were overly salty with layer of grease on top. Lacked a balance of Indian flavours & portion significantly smaller. The meat was very dry & tough in both curries, with some inedible. The chips, pakora and naan arrived soaking from condensation and/or grease thus soggy. Tried to raise with just eat to no avail. On a positive note the delivery time was accurate. ** The restaurant did provide a new meal and the chicken makhani was considerably better (new one as described on menu with mince and what we experienced from ordering in the past) however other curries were bland, lacked flavour/ seasoning/ spice and were similar to curry base gravy/ watery. We did appreciate the restaurant attempting to rectify. Just a shame the standard seems to be down at the moment.

Had a take away from here it was horrible. The curry’s were watery and veg raw. The nan tasted stale. And it was overpriced.

Absolute favourite place for food!

Eating curry here is like eating curry in purgatory. One mouthful of one curry and you've tasted them all, but you've paid an evening price so you need to keep eating. Utter bilge, decent Naan breads and the tap water was on point.

In Dundee for the weekend and came across this gem of a place! Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and wonderful staff! Food so fresh and no nasty food colourings! I will be back and of you haven't tried it....what are you waiting for?!

One of the restaurants that was beloved to us during the scholarship days.. It has maintained the same level, method of presentation and location. Years have passed and nothing has changed in it. Its location is beautiful and overlooks the river and my family.. Taza has beautiful memories and special times with friends

Went here for my birthday last week with my boyfriend at around 18:30, when we entered the restaraunt we were immediately told that they were closing the buffet and the restarant early for an event at 7:30 giving us an hour to have our food, which was not mentioned while booking our table. The food itself was ok although my main course got cold within five minutes of getting the food and throughout the meal, we were hurried and rushed due to the event taking place upstairs, even though we were sat downstairs. We did not appreciate being rushed throughout our meal, having being told 3 times that the restaurant was 'closed' even though we were still only on desserts, implying we had overstayed our welcome and according to my boyfriend who is from India, said that the food was rather bland in taste and unauthentic.

First time eating here and really enjoyed it. Plenty of dishes to choose from and they were all delicious. Staff were lovely. Definitely recommend.

First time at Taza. Staff very friendly and helpful. Explained the set up for starters, mains and sweet. We found the food was excellent and reasonably priced for a buffet. We also had cocktails which were great. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

The beauty of the building is by no means a reflection on the restaurant. Ignore the outside. We found this place by walking past it and smelling the food, and we are glad we did. It is a buffet system that works well. A good variety of dishes with an ability to ask for menu items as well. I had the prawns in Tandoori cooked seperarly, and I can say they were lovely and really well spiced. The dishes out themselves are all good and have a good depth of flavour but are not overly spicy. I'm more of a traditionalist and like my food fairly hot 🔥 so some were a bit mild for my liking, but I am sure they have to cater for the masses. There is a good pudding area as well, which has a range of about 20 different cakes and ice cream. OK, so all that aside, our booking was enhanced, no end by the waitress Denni, who was mega attentive throughout. I think restaurants can be as good or bad as they like to a degree as long as they have people like Denni working there. To give an idea when walking past, she noticed my wife's cider had ice in it and offered to have it removed. It was the second glass and a good hour since she had been involved in the first glass. Incredible memory and service! The place is spotless as well, I can imagine it getting very busy for long periods, but the cleaning routine is perfect, not a bit on the floor, and tables were flawless.

Haven't been there un ages but food still great, quality always the same and the thouh different were as helpful and friendly.

Stopped for lunch today. The food is tasty and the staff are pleasant and polite. We both enjoyed our meal.
