Tayer + Elementary in Islington

Fuimos a la Primaria en nuestro último viaje a Londres como siempre hacemos, y esta vez fue invitado a Tayer! El servicio y las bebidas en la Primaria eran increíbles como de costumbre. Genial poder experimentar Tayer. Habíamos entrado en la Primaria el día anterior, y un miembro del equipo nos estaba hablando sobre Tayer y nos preguntó si habíamos estado antes. Dijeron que nos invitarían en nuestra próxima visita. Nos recordaron la noche siguiente y entramos directamente! Seguiré visitando cada vez que vaya a Londres, ya que es mi lugar favorito para tomar cócteles.

Tuvimos suerte con este bar que está cerca de nuestro hotel y que está en la lista de los 50 mejores bares del mundo. Ocupó el puesto #8 cuando fuimos y recordamos haberlo visto en la lista en 2022, pero no lo conseguimos, pero nos alegramos de haberlo logrado finalmente. Tienen una lista de cócteles reimaginados, así como especialidades de verano utilizando una lista de ingredientes regulares, perfeccionados y de temporada. Me gustó mucho mi whisky de cereza sour aquí y ofrecen un menú de aperitivos como patatas fritas de trufa. Algo especial que ofrecen en este bar es el martini de un sorbo con una aceituna de queso azul y estaba muy bueno. El bar en sí solo ofrece taburetes de bar en mesas largas, por lo que puede ser mejor ir con grupos más pequeños de amigos o en pareja para tener una conversación. Su música es muy cool y moderna y tiene un toque industrial al escenario. El personal de servicio es muy amable y rápido para proporcionar servicio. Apreciamos el alambique o agua con gas de cortesía y los pretzels salados. El metro más cercano es la estación de metro de Old Street y hay una serie de autobuses que pasan por aquí también.

Great experience! This is one of the best cocktail bars in the world. Friendly staff, nice service, awesome drinks, I will definitely comeback.

If I can leave 0 stars I would. Drinks are all premade and not the best. Most importantly WORST service I’ve seen in years. For a bar that is ranked in top of the world this was bad. Last call was at 11:55am even when they told us before they close at 1:30am. At 00:15am within a 5min time span 3 people had to tell us to leave. At that point we were only waiting for our friend who was in the bathroom. The first girl who came and told us was nice about it, but then second Bartender (2min later) got extremely rude. When pointing out he said he had to be aggressive which is absolutely not needed in anyway. They 30seconds later security came. Hospitality is far to be found at this bar and would never send people here. Best tip: DONT go here as they are rude and aggressive to leave asap.

We went on a Tuesday so only Elementary was open (the front bar). Dog friendly and great service. The 4 cocktails we tried were very good considering they were bottled/on tap (pre made). Balanced, strong, clean. Very good! The oysters stole the show. Get the oysters. Incredible.

We love trying bars all over the world and usually chose them according the Top 50 evaluation that comes out everywhere. London is a great place to enjoy several of the Top 50 bars and more, that’s why we try to come here at least once per year. This year we tried Swift and Tayer Elementary, both in the Top 100 list in this years rating, Tayer Elementary even made it to the 8th place! We had our first two cocktails in the front section of the bar and loved the two creations we ordered. Then we had the chance to change to the backside of the bar where you can watch the mixologist preparing your drinks. The bar menu is huge, difficult to take the best choice… we had in total 6 different cocktails and loved them all!!! Normally there is one you like less, that just doesn’t matches with your taste… not here! We loved that they served the drinks without any decorations… just focusing on the drink itself, we loved it! Tayer Elementary only allows walk in, we were afraid after getting the 8th place in the Top Bars worldwide they would be a bit snobby or arrogant and were so even more surprised about their warmth and friendly service. A great place where we will spend more time on our next London visit. PD: the food looked delicious too! The next time we will also eat a small plate there.

Went to Elementary twice on my last two day visit to London. Once on the Thursday daytime with another couple, and again just with my husband on the Friday evening. It's my favourite place for cocktails so I wanted to make the most of being able to be there. The service both times was exceptional, everyone is so friendly and happy to talk to you about the drinks and you are never left with an empty glass. None of the staff or the venue itself are pretentious and the owner Alex was lovely, chatty and smiley both times we were there. The cocktails are always perfect. My favourites this time were the banana old fashioned, the strawberry boulevardier and the watermelon negroni. There was a little queue on the Friday evening as I expected but we soon got in and the place was buzzing, such a great atmosphere. Haven't yet been invited into Tayer, but I live in hope, and to be honest I love Elementary so much I'm not really bothered! Can't wait to go again!

Just OK. Pretty much average between good London bars. To say this bar is #2 in the world is borderline disrespectful. I would go somewhere else - London has many better options

The service at this bar was impeccable and this would have been a 4 star review had the drinks dared to be more unique and complex in their flavours. We tried both Tayer, the causal bar and landing space with bottled cocktails, and Elementary, the “fine dining” equivalent back room bar with intimate seating and experimental, weekly changing cocktails. Tayer was a casual drinks-after-work vibe: good cocktails at a decent price. However, nothing extravagant. It shares the same small plates menu as Elementary, which were perhaps the main event of our experience. The croquettes are a 5/5 must try. As for Elementary, while their drinks menu is full of creative ingredients, the end result is somehow impressively flat for World’s No. 2 2022. We would return for the great ambience and hopefully a more exciting drinks menu.

We were really looking forward to this after being announced as No2 in the world... I just don't get it. We sat in Elementary (Tayer didn't open untill 6) ordered our cocktails to then watch the bar team poor it from the bottle... Pre made cocktails? What? Where's the experience? Sadly mine tasted awful, it may aswell have been a shot of tequila... Not to my taste. To then have service charge added to the bill was insulting, they didn't do anything... Very underwhelming, no experience, Pre made cocktails, overpriced... Not for me.

Been looking forward to going to Tayer + Elementary since first trying their bottled cocktails. Greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. Service was very attentive and as soon as we finished a drink we were able to order again. The cocktails were outstanding! Simple but complex at the same time, very high quality and original versions of classic cocktails. As a group we had the frozen yuzu margarita, Sakura gimlet, Bloody Mary, smokey old fashioned, bergamot margarita and more. The One Sip Martini’s were my favourite and I loved them that much I had 4! Really happy to pay the service charge as the service was faultless. Will certainly go again and I’m looking forward to it already!

A friend and I came here after dinner for drinks. Drink presentation is minimal; I think it's all about the taste experience. I particularly liked their green walnut negroni, while my friend enjoyed her frozen yuzu margarita. Friendly wait staff who make sure you don't go ages without service. I'd be interested to try their food another time!

Just an excellent atmosphere. The owner greets you at the door. Very intimate and personal setting. Both owners hold conversation with you along with other mixologist. The drinks OMG healing and takes you down memory lane at times. This is my spot when I visit London. Thank you for the experience.

Stayed only in the room for the premixed drinks, and only had drinks, no food. Excellent drinks, great atmosphere and hospitality. Recommended if you like cocktails you won’t get close to anywhere else, and full of flavor.

I ordered one of their amazing cocktails online - the service was fantastic and the cocktails really are amazing. Really recommend them - and good to support these places with such difficult times

Just gave a go to a new place and absolutely loved this one. Margaritas were just amazing, but the food!! Definitely will go again when around! Simple beauty! Loved that minimalistic modern look, I think it is perfect vibe for designers hahah

I was just standing at the door looking at the menu, and Monica came out straight away to ask me if I would like to sit inside or outside and also offer me a glass of water, nice little chat, and drink came out in 10 seconds, awesome so far, I’ll come back for sure and I’ll suggest to others.

I've been coming here regularly since it opened in mid-2019 and consider it one of the best, if not THE BEST, cocktail bars in the world but with the addition of some of the best bar food in the world (must try the Pork Sando and sausage roll). The 4 cover kitchen table is also magnificent and rightly considered one of the hottest seats in town. The 6 course meal is cooked in front of you and always to the highest quality with imagination and flavour in abundance. This is a destination bar - make sure you visit Tayer (inside) as well as Elementary (outside) and feel free to ask the wonderful team about things. They are a really friendly bunch.
