Tasty house in Bedford

Food was pretty good and reasonable portions size.only excepts cash so be prepare to pull out the moola.loads of parking too which was good.

Ordered my usual Chinese takeaway order, all of which was better than every other Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. Best in Bedford! Only downside is that I didn’t receive a complimentary portion of prawn crackers, as is done in a lot of Chinese takeaways. Good food, Good service … Definitely recommend!

Couldn't recommend it more, are yet to find a better Chinese for us in the UK. Great food, friendly and usually ready in 20 minutes. Only downside is their salt and pepper chips recipe has changed recently and aren't as flavourful. Other than that, can't fault!

Changed owners a while back. Fish and chips are really good. Service can be REALLY slow and they are CASH ONLY. But hey I still go because it’s still great food.

Good place to get fish and chips or Chinese couldn't recommend it more. Only down side it is cash only but there is a free cash point next door so not a big issue.

We have ordered and had deliveries of food over a couple of years, from this fish shop, the food is never hot enough and sometimes it tastes like the chips have been warned up from lunch time,it is so nice to be able to order in, there aren't.many places that deliver to Stevington, if only food was hotter.

The worst food I have ever had!! First, we ordered in the shop and took it home with us, 6 minutes away. There we found out that not everything we ordered was there and what was there was stonecold. The mixed donner was that horrible I wouldnt even give it to my dog. After a phonecall they did send us a new order. Despite the fact I asked for crispy chips, the chips was rubbery, reheated but delivered cold, again. The batter was soggy and the fishcake cold again.their excuse was they were training staff.. they have a long way to go......

Poor kebab salad 3 items, meat ok won’t order in a rush

Great! They offer delivery, Kebab meat seems tinned or boiled, salad ok and I like the fact that you can add it yourself to the meal but very basic lettuce, onion and not much else. Didn't try the chips because although I paid for them they didn't arrive, phoned them as the delivery guy left and they said that they would send them. Never did get them so for the price of Chips and the two curry sauces we couldn't use I have deducted the star rating. Won't use again there is so much better.

We had a large order for a party on Saturday lunchtime. Nothing was too much trouble and the food arrived on time, piping hot and really delicious. We ordered a variety of meals, from fish to pizzas and burgers, and all were perfectly cooked. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Can't wait to order from you again.

Fantastic fish and chips, as always

Food was good however a 10min wait for a sausage, fish cake and chips at 7:45pm on a Saturday was a bit much. Lads taking the orders seemed a bit flustered and quite unorganised but the food was good (small chips were very small).

We had a wedding party for 30 people yesterday and had fish and chips and burger and chips and kids meals delivered and arrived on time, they were all boxed and enormous portions nice and hot to, everyone thoroughly enjoyed them will definitely be going back, thank you

Clapham chippy was closed so we found this place for the first time. Wish we had found it before. Lovely cod and chips and big portions! Phoned ahead and got very prompt service 30 min later despite covid etc.

Ordered via Just Eat. The order was delivered about 20 minutes earlier than advised on the app, however it took over 30 minutes to arrive after the app showed it out for delivery. I have used the Bromham chippy for a long time now and used to be very happy with the quality of the food, however it has been going down hill recently. Today the fish and chips were terrible, the chips were over cooked and so soggy that they were fused into one big lump. The batter on the fish was also soggy and the fish did not taste very nice. The soggy chips and batter could well have been due to the time between being cooked and delivery, but when paying for delivery the retailer should ensure a fast service. The over cooked chips should never have been served! Unfortunately this order was a complete waste of money it ended up in the dustbin.

Just bought a cod and chips from this shop. I am new to Bromham and was very excited to visit the local fish and chip shop. However, I was very surprised at the disgusting service I received by the rather large lady behind the counter. She was very abrupt and ignorant, so much so that I couldn’t help but leave such an awful review. I will certainly not be returning!

Just moved into Bromham and thought we would have some local F&C, what a great place. Ordered which took about an hour (peak time order), arrived with a smile and tasted fantastic. Well priced as well, very happy.

We travel across from Great Denham because the quality of food is always good. Chicken kebabs are great and filling, at a reasonable price. Chips are consistently tasty. Highly recommended.

The chips are fantastic and brilliant portion size. However I find the batter on the fish sticky and I believe needs cooking longer. When you peel it out of the paper it sticks to the paper and not to the fish. Shame really as they are fantastic people and a great laugh.

Chips were dry and dark kept warm for hours and my sausage in batter was disgusting sausage was anemic and batter raw inside

Very good food been using this fish bar for a long time. Expence is not spared top rate food from the fish/chips to the kebab meat musty peas they are the best. I drive past 3 other chippy's to go there and it's worth it.

Appalling customer service, how are they still in business? Was a loyal customer for years but they changed their ordering system and then was told "sorry but we ignored your message and then delivered the wrong order on purpose"

Bought chips from here and have to say they were pretty disgusting. Undercooked and no flavor, you would think the fairly simple process of frying sliced potatoes would be a basic skill a chip shop would master... not this one. I live in the village so very local but this was the last time I will be going to Bromham Fish Shop. Hopefully it changes hands ASAP!!!

Terrible soggy undercooked chips, specifically asked for crispy cod as everytime it is like a soggy old sock.. yet again it was pathetic, curry sauce was lumpy and something you'd find in a new borns nappy, how can you mess up cod and chips! Embarrassing

Best fish and chip's i have had in Bedfordshire. Fish was beautifully cooked and I recommend going for a regular portion of chip's. A large portion would feed 3 people

Always loved it here, but, Wow, bromham chippy just hit a new low, missus goes to get dinner, chicken kebab with garlic mayo and a mixed plain!! Comes home both covered in mayo, ring to say the mixed should of been plain, apparently cant do another one as they have cleared up!! We live a minute away, thats a quick bludie clear up!! But we can have a free one next time, we use it all the time but no thanks wont be back now! Just chips it is then, £5 kebab chucked away then!! Thanks for nothing!! 😡😡😡😡

Lovely food. The chips are always so fresh and cooked perfectly! The fish was nice and crispy and my children especially enjoy the fish cakes. This is now my favourite chip shop and we will become regulars! Staff are also very friendly and have a good laugh with customers waiting in the shop.

Big portions, polite staff, and reasonably priced. Will definitely be eating here again.

Been here a few times in passing and I've always received good customer service and tasty food. The burgers are very nice and so are the pizzas definitely one of my favourite places to get pizza from. The bogof deal is great as not many places offer that. Chips are done just the way I like them. No complaints here :)

Good chips, didn't fancy a kebab

They accepted an order for a large camp at Leslie Sell campsite. The order was delivered late, the last items being 1.5 hours late and incomplete. So I had my chips then half an hour later my fish.

Food is generally good,but will not accept Scottish notes sterling as currency claiming the bank charges to change them.....absolute rubbish

Poor customer service & light portions. Pale chips which seem to be a current theme here are cooked quickly to accommodate the quick turn around. Clapham not too far away is much nicer. Photo is a small portion purchased recently. Feedback was not well received !!

We took our fish and chips back, they vary in quality from there but these were light on chips portion and they were overcooked, as was the batter which was covered in black flecks - so we felt strong enough to drive back and ask for a replacement (1st time in 6 years). The owner accused us of eating half of the chips and that it was wasn't poor and was very confrontational. I don't give my loyalty to shops that call me a liar and give poor service. Shocking. Lost a local family of 4's trade.

chips were soggy, sausages where obviously very very old disgusting customer service, called me a liar when said that fish was soggy and refused to replace or refund.

You get what you pay for. Fish is always quite good and I never had problems with chips. Reasonable prices as well
