Papa John's Pizza in Bedford

ordered a pizza online, delivery driver arrived to discover the restaurant was closed!! after accepting our order.

Ordered pizza. Hour later still no pizza. Tried to call. Number doesn't work. This has happened twice now. They are stealing. Going to report

The offer was buy one get one free! I received 3 pizzas should have been 4! another ham and mushroom was missing!!!

Ordered a pizza and 35 minutes later it still hasn’t been prepped on the tracking so we called up for them to tell us they have no delivery drivers at the moment so they’re waiting for those, and told us to hang on 20 minutes. We waited an additional 30 minutes to call again, for them to tell us to wait another 10 minutes as she is still waiting for the delivery driver who is apparently ‘stuck in traffic’ at 8pm and has been for the last 1 hour 30 minutes. We asked if she had been in communication with the delivery driver to know if it will be an additional 10 minutes and she said no, she will call him, for her to not even bother calling us back. If you are experiencing a shortage with delivery drivers, maybe don’t take orders or make customers aware from the get go rather than pulling numbers out of thin air!

Order came late without any update or notification.

Absolutely the worst! The fact you have to keep saying to them that there’s almost no topping has now just become a joke. I can understand they want to save money, but only having specks of cheese on top is just ridiculous.

I remember when I was down on my luck, I had no job, no money but one day a kind soul offered to buy me a meal, he brought me a pizza from this papa johns and I think I preferred eating nothing

Rang up and was told delivery within half hour, took over an hour, asked for £10 refund good will and never got it, stay away from this crowd

We were delivered completely the wrong pizza. We phoned and we were told that they would return with the correct pizza but wanted proof of the incorrect delivery so not to eat it. An hour later we called to see where the 2nd delivery was and was told that they were too busy to return with the correct order, so now we were left with a cold, pizza that wasnt correct. They refused to refund at first, then after a lot of presuasion agreed to refund £17 off the £50 order. This refund was never processed so they were just lying to get is off the phone. I would never use this terrible company again.

Love pizza from here, It's always hot and delicious. We tend to pick up rather than have it delivered, just a personal choice. The staff are always looking to give the best deal, which is great. One thing I would like to say is that I don't like the fact that the delivery drivers walk through to the area where food is prepared. I think they should stay out of the kitchen and collect orders, customer side. Parking is a pain in the bum, we cheekily park in the garage next door.

Don’t know what happened to this place. Used to order regularly from them then last time I ordered about a year ago the pizza hadn’t arrived after 2 hours so called to find out where it was and they kept hanging up the phone without answering. Eventually after about 30 minutes of constant calling they answered saying they were very busy. By this time I’d had enough and had to go out to work so told them to cancel the order which they said they would. Another 30 minutes later (3 hours after I had placed the order)as I was leaving to go to work the food arrived even though I cancelled it! I refused the delivery told him it was cancelled. 10 days after I still hadn’t received a refund and ended up having to go to the shop to get it done. Stupidly I thought their service that night might have been a one off and gotten better since then so placed an order at 6.37pm this evening. Now 8.23pm and still waiting. Been trying to call them for 30 minutes and rings out and cuts off as before. Food finally arrived at 8.50 no apology from the delivery driver. Gave these monkeys a second chance and nothing has changed still terrible. No more business from again. Will stick to PizzaHut as they are always good and deliver in 20 minutes. Advise everyone to avoid this place. Oh and the food was cold when it arrived.

Since moving locally we've ordered 4 times from this Papa John's and twice they've failed to deliver. Today they failed again, but this time insisted the driver had been at the house 15 minutes - which our ring camera easily disproves. Buyer beware, your probably won't get your pizza and when you ring up to complain the staff (who barely speak English) and rude and ignorant. Save your money and go elsewhere.

They cancelled the delivery 30 minutes into my order. Now I am hungry.

Ordered delivery which was cold and incorrect.(wrong side delivered) Fed back online and received a response saying they were looking into it. After a week of radio silence I get email basically saying because I didn't return the food immediately nothing could be done. I sent all the proof including images etc. I think it's a tad unreasonable to be expected to drive your delivery order back because they got it wrong. Bad form papa John. Domino's for me from now on

Ordered a pizza at 7:20pm they said it would be with me by 8:10pm-8:30pm, it finally arrived at 9pm just about warm. It’s a shame as I live close by. Unfortunately I wont use these guys again not impressed.

I can't believe Papa Johns Kempston just hung up the phone! I ordered online, was not sure if payment had been processed properly, so called on the phone. I asked if I could order by phone instead and the person I was speaking to hung up. A shame, great offers, but I'll order from Dominos instead.

Slightly overpriced and not enough cheese 😔

Ordered a pizza for delivery, after 1hour tried to call; no answer, tried several times, no answer. Drove down there to be told that their delivery driver didn’t want to work that day. Loads of orders had been taken & they clearly had no intention of fulfilling them or cancelling them with customers! After a lot of deliberation, they offered me a refund and said I could take my order. The server signed my receipt stating I would receive a refund. Waited a week, no refund so went back, again after a lot of deliberation and passing of the buck to head office and changing their minds to whom the manager was, they ended up giving me a free pizza with the promise of a refund which had to come from their head office as was an online order. Another week passed and the refund was received. Total shambles!! Order from Dominoes, never had an issue. Only tried here as fancied a change; never again.

What has happened to Papa John's? This was our weekly go to. Ordered today, took over an hour, pizzas were awful, no tomato on base, cold. Wings were terrible and no sauce, cream cheese poppers were cold. Ordered Pepsi, sent us Cherry Pepsi that no one drinks without asking or advising they were changing. Absolutely terrible takeaway, will.never order from them again. Caprinos is the best takeaway pizza shop in Kempston. Make sure you order from there and not Papa John's.

We order from papa johns regularly but never again. Waited 1 hour and 50 minutes tonight, tried ringing several times and had no answer. The driver didn't even apologise for the wait. Ingredients on the pizzas were not fresh, chicken was hard and dry and the pizzas weren't even cut properly.

Taken our money . Waiting nearly two hours for order , won’t answer the phone. Can’t complain or even find out about our order as this place won’t answer the phones. It’s pretty much robbery at this point

Staff said I cannot get pizza but just sides even if I was 30 minutes before closing time.

This restaurant take deliveries at 3am in the morning banging and clattering around and then leave the lorry with its engine running for half hour or so while they do god knows what … seriously no respect for the neighbourhood or anyone else that may need to get up for work .

Garbage. Ordered online and the order was wrong. Tried to explain to the store and nothing was done. Not our problem. Used to love Papa John's but won't be ordering here anymore.

Absolute joke!!!! No toppings and awful service. 2 hours late and forgot a side. It was cold hardly any toppings on both sides and pizza. Called them to cancel as it had taken so long and was told that wasn’t possible. Shocking service won’t be using them again

Thought we would try papa john’s kempston for a change away from domino’s big mistake food took 80mins to turn up it was cold and the cheese had gone hard we couldn’t tell the difference between the works which should have meat and the vegetarian as it had pretty much no meat my kids ate one slice cos it was cold and myself and wife had 2 we through away 1and a half large pizzas if you want to feed your bin then this is the place . SHAME ON PAPA JOHN’s kempston good riddance

Online order and free delivery. Excellent service and food delivered on time and hot. Friendly professional delivery man. I ordered a 2-4-1 offer and ordered 1 medium original chicken club pizza and 1 medium butternut squash base garden party pizza. My only regret is I wish I ordered large as they were so tasty! Highly recommend the butternut squash pizza it's something different and is very similar to normal based pizza. Would be happy to reorder from this branch again. Keep an eye out for offers as I've noted Papa Johns do regular offers available online.

Ordered over the app, waited 1 hour 41 minutes and didn’t receive my complete order, when I tried calling them, I made 27 phone calls over the space of an hour without an answer! Very disappointing

Close on an hour waiting for a Pizza that was promised in 20mins. Still hadn't been started. They refused to give me my money back and told me to email the head office if I wanted it. Refused to give me the contact details of who to get hold of. "Search for it on the internet". Told that the branch was not a franchisee, but that seems inconsistent with Papa John's website. So I only had one option to wait longer for a pizza from an outlet that clearly had customer service issues. Did I eat it, no chance.

Ordered over the app, waited over an hour so had to called them up to be told that have order was not even know the money was taken out of my account (I have the proof). Spoke with the manager she was no help and rude over the phone. I will never be going back there. Very poor system in place.

Unless you're getting something from the deals, its really expensive. I mean 10.99 for a small pizza? And thats cheese and tomato. When you can go to ALL of the competition and get change from a tenner. Sorry. JUST TOO EXPENSIVE. NO VALUE FOR MONEY

Wait 2 hours for a pizza because they cannot speak English then they put you on hold and take other orders halfway through while you're arguing with them and they wonder why the order is wrong joke

Pizza arrived cold, £25 Pizza, toppings were non existent, a joke, the large pizza had 5 slices of pepperoni, 3 bacon and about 1 mushroom over the whole thing, chillies? Found 1 or 2 slithers... what a waste, and no taste, basically a cheese and tomato pizza for £25... Don't wait for my next order you cheap skates
