Great take away the best in the town

The only Chinese takeaway I will use in Guisborough. I have seen the kitchen and it is spotlessly clean. The staff are clean, tidy and knowledgeable about what they serve. The food is always very good and tasty. A very good menu. Ran by a lovely hard working family.

Can’t honestly remember the last time me and my wife enjoyed a Chinese takeaway this much. First time tonight - we will return. Honestly enjoyed every bite 👍🏻

Lady that answer the phone to me was really rude. Asked her to repeat my order and told me ‘ you listen to me’ ‘I have told you already’.

On holiday here and got a takeaway for 9 people tonight. Excellent food. It was so tasty. My veg chow mein was possibly the best I have ever had. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommend. Everyone enjoyed their food. Loads of it and reasonably priced.

The best takeaway I've had in ages. Only visiting on a short holiday, so I'm disappointed I'm unlikely to be able to go again! The lady that served us was delightful, so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely spot on also. Would highly recommend. Thank you tasty cook!

Food is top tier and unreal. Amazing service and never fails to impress. Not extortionate like other places and you get loads for what you order. We got the new large tasty box and it fed 4 of us with salt and pepper ribs, salt and pepper chips, salt and pepper chicken, fried rice, noodles and sauce, and only £18.

Nothing like any Chinese I’ve had and not in a good way. All the usual things I’d order but not how it should be. Crispy chill beef…not crispy and covered in a thick sauce of some kind. Fried onions with everything, not something you usually see in Chinese. Would not recommend.

I cant comment on the food as I didnt get any due to the Service being disgusting. I went in at 7.40pm on a friday placed a small order for a Curry and Sweet n Sour and rice, I was told 35 mins I went back at 8.15 to be told it wasnt ready. But a walk in customer who had been in 10 mins got there order, i was sat in my car watching the shop and they had prioritised people walking in sitting in the shop. Wont go back wont get my business, very poor Service

Guisborough is blessed with some brilliant takeaways, Tasty Cook is one of them. Salt and pepper ribs (no batter) as good as any I've had. Roast pork foo yung delicious,I'd go there again.

G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S food here , delicious fresh tasty and HOT . We've been using our old takeaway for 4 years till we found tasty cook won't be going anywhere else now.AND they deliver ! Got king prawn curry and rice , pork chowmein, salt and pepper chicken chips , and large spring rolls all delivered for £28.40 they also gave us mini spring rolls and prawn crackers for FREE.

Asked why I was charged an extra 70p for my meal and was shown an A4 notice near the counter and told new main menu would cost £200 and was told if I didn’t like it don’t come back, then I was told they had started cooking my meal so I couldn’t change my mind. Although the food is mediocre I would suggest you go to one of the other 3 takeaway Chinese in the town.

Great takeaway, big portions and fresh tasty food!

Ordered a Chinese takeaway which said was going to be an hour for delivery and actually took 2 hours 30 mins. When we phoned after 99 minutes waiting we were told they were waiting for the driver to collect. Eventually came and the driver was very apologetic. They put in 3 spring roles as a way of an apology. Hot and sour soup was amazing but the two curries were cold and tasteless. Definitely wouldn’t recommend

Considering we went for a takeaway, the whole focus on this review is ease of collection and quality of food. Only surprise on collection was cash only and couldn't fault the food, very tasty

Really excellent. Fresh, tasty, hot food using quality ingredients. I rarely get a Chinese takeaway for fear of disappointment but this really was excellent. Great customer service and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Always excellent.... Lovely family serving amazing food. when ever we order we are always treated to free prawn crackers and often some lovely spring rolls aswell. I can honestly say that tasty cook is the only Chinese takeaway we will ever use along as it stays under the current owners. Also ignore any negative reviews and judge for yourself. By far the best around. Thank you all for your hard work and beautiful food.

Used to be best in town but sadly last few meals not been good. Last nights was dreadful. Pork ribs smelt strange and were extremely tough, very under cooked totally inedible! The mixed starters were swimming in oil and soggy. Main dish of ginger and spring onion was nice, sadly hardly any ginger like it used to have. Fried Rice was cold and dry with no flavour, boiled rice ok. Free mini spring rolls were a joke. Used to get 6 mini ones now you get 3 tiny mini ones and are very over cooked. No point adverting them as a free product. Prawn crackers were stale and taste of old oil also again lots of oil sitting in them. Most of it went in the bin, such a waste. No point telephoning them as her English on the phone is dreadful and she can hardly understand. There’s a lovely lady that’s local and is more than helpful with orders but only on at weekends. So dissatisfied this was the best in town. We won’t be using again.

Other people enjoyed their meals but I found my beancurd to be inedible, over cooked and absolutely saturated in oil 🤢. Seaweed was bland and the sweet and sour sauce was a weird colour and very artificial tasting.

Food was delicious! I definitely recommend this place.

Definitely the best Chinese takeaway in the area. Best curry sauce ive tried, very nice battered chicken, chow mein, tasty box very good value - generous amount/variety, all very 'tasty' as per the name. Prompt delivery - much faster than other takeaways, even at busy times, always arrives hot. Lovely owners, a well-liked family business in gboro, with a loyal customer base - largely via recommendation, ppl come again and again due to quality of food and service.

The tasty box is very good, tasty as advertised, it was organised and presented carefully and cooked to perfection, their curry sauce is so nice and tasty, we usually ask for it extra spicy and they deliver on that also! The food is always hot and fresh from here, always give us a reason to come back :)

I cannot believe this chinese take away has never been reviewed before. On holiday in yorkshire, exhausted from hiking/walking so finished our day with a take away. Seems to be a popular take away place as five different locals came in and ordered while we where there. The lady behind the counter was so helpful regarding our order and portion sizes. Food was 10/10 cannot fault the food in any way. Also noticed the food hygiene rating is 5. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend you pay a visit if you fancy take out food

Had my first takeaway from here, I went for the meal for one but swapped out the sweetcorn soup for hot and sour soup, I was glad I did as it was the best I have ever tasted ever!.The prawn toast was sublime, spring rolls delicious and crisp with hot squidgy goodness inside, every single piece of food was beautifully cooked and tasted amazing. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. I will definitely be going back I noticed steamed pork dumplings on the menu and if what I had is anything to go by then I am sure they will be the most amazing dumplings ever. You should try them, if you like fresh authentic Chinese food then you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely appalling. Shocking staff. Ordered shredded beef in szechuan sauce. No beef in it at all just greasy batter. Took it to the shop to complain and I pulled the batter apart to show there was no beef. The lady argued saying there was nothing wrong with it but I've enclosed pictures for proof in this review. It's just white yellow batter the lady said that was beef. I said since when is beef white she then responded by saying they use bleach coloring on the beef which made me more appalled. The lady would not give a refund. By law there needs to be a certain percentage of meat in a advertised dish this failed short of this in my opinion. I have refrigerated the dish for trading standards to investigate the composition of the dish and environmental health. I came to the lady to save having to put a negative review up but she was not concerned at all Regarding your response your mother did say she used bleach coloring to make the beef white and now your using the fact that your mother's English is not good as an excuse to say she was confused yet her English was perfect on that night. I'm extremely concerned that you wash the beef for such a long time that it turns white my concern is that the beef is out of the refrigerator for such long times being washed that it would not be at the correct temperature under food regulations. To turn the beef white and under you're own admission washing it for long periods would mean a lot of time that the beef is under refrigerated

Absolutely disgusting, chicken balls didn't have any chicken in. Chips were stale and after all this when I finished eating it it all came back up. Won't be going there again.😷😷
