I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Me and my friend both ordered pepperoni parmos. (Only ordered because I’ve had them from here before, multiple times) and our order was accepted. We sat and waited and not one of us received a pepperoni parmo, we both received different orders - even though we ordered the same thing. The Attitude on the young girl was shocking. She had an answer for everything, but her answers had no meaning, she just kept repeating her self but didn’t make a single bit of sense. Terrible experience. Never again.

We haven't been here for a while so decided to visit with family. We ordered 3 roast dinners, one of which was supposed to be a large but was exactly the same as the other two. The waitress asked if we would like any sauces ect, I politely asked if we got veg with the roast, she very abruptly said yes it will be coming out shortly, we then waited around 10minutes for this to arrive. I've worked in hospitality for years and years and the veg should always be served first, then the dinners so everything is still hot. We were also quite disappointed with the amount of dust on all of the surfaces. The parking situation is also very unclear.

nice pub but a cash cow. my experience was marred by car parking charges after two hours. we had stoped to get a drink and food after walking rosebery topping. they have a £3.50 parking charge which is reimbursed if you spend a tenner in the pub...so no issue with that. however, we had to wait a long time for food. again no issue with that. however, overheard staff telling other customers that after the two hours you have to keep paying car parking charges. we spent 37 quid on a bit of food and they're expecting me to pay to park again. to much hassle and poorly thought out system, more designed to trap you then offer fair parking dor customer's verses non customer's. i will not go there again on the strength of this. pizza was a bit naff too. however, it was nice inside and food was ok and priced ok. drinks a bit pricey. one pint and one non-alcoholic bottle of beer costing over ten pounds. its a cash cow place. so if they're busy you will feel rushed to finish food and drink or will have to pay for the privilege to eat mediocre light bites. I'm sure the hotel part is lovely. nice area.

Rubbish food. Luke warm Sunday dinner. The supervisor admitted it was microwaved when I complained about the cold mash. They asked if I wanted it re-heating. No thanks! Fish and chiops had inedible fish. Never going back there again!

We visited the Kings Head for a meal as part of my partner's daughters birthday celebrations.Overall,we were disappointed,we did visit at a busy period and were told there would be a 45 minute wait for food. Our food actually didn't start to arrive until 2 hours later. One of our party discussed with a male member of the staff about the first 2 hours of free parking, our problem was we would of exceeded the 2 hours limit due to the delay in our food being served. We requested some parking dispensation, however,we were abruptly told it was our problem to sort out. When the meal arrived all starters were acceptable,3 of the main courses were okay. However, one of our party had the veggie option which was not edible and the Pie option was totally un appetizing. My partners daughter went to the bar and spoke with a manager and we did receive a sizeable refund for the meal costs. On the good side, the floor staff were really trying to do their best and one kind lady got our toddler some crayons and paper to play with. The toilets were very clean. The manager whom dealt with our refund, also listened to our complaints and offered the refund. In conclusion, it would seem the problem, with this pub is in the kitchen.

We've eaten at the Kings Head on many occasions over the years, the food was always OK but nothing special. The four of us went there this Saturday, it was very busy and we were warned in advance that it would be an hour before we got our lunch, OK we accepted that. I wanted a chicken parmo but that was no longer available so I went for the burger. One of our party wanted a vegetable curry and was later told that was no longer available so went for a cauliflower steak with satay sauce. After an hour of waiting patiently, our lunch arrived. The simple bacon, brie and cranberry toasty was burnt to a crisp and after pointing this out, the waiter said "so you'd like that replaced?" - how did they let that leave the kitchen? The so-called cauliflower steak was a few bits of boiled caulifour swimming in a soup of "satay sauce" bordering on the inedible, my burger with cold chips actually made me regret we hadn't gone the McDonalds, the "game stew" was tough and tasteless. This pub clearly plays on its location to Roseberry Topping and is dog friendly which is really nice but standards have dropped to the point where we definitely won't be going back.

Ordered 2 parmos and waited one hour 25 minutes to be served it. We had put 2 hours on the car parking so felt like we rushed eating when we eventually got the food. The food wasn’t great, very small portions, burnt chicken around the edges, not much sauce on the chicken, ‘thick cut’ chips were actually skin on fries which were greasy and hard, ‘dressed salad’ was a handful of dry leaves. It tasted ok ish but not worth £16.50 and such a small portion that we had to grab snacks on the way home. The service was terrible. Never told how long the wait would be when ordering and when we eventually got the food it was placed on the table with no apology for the long wait and we were never asked if everything was ok throughout eating the meal. The whole experience was disappointing and we will not be returning.

Came for a meal with the family, the chicken curry was not nice the sauce was thick and had a few pieces of chicken which looked brown. The sauce was very strong and also when served looked like been left for a while before served as had a dark skin on top the sauce. Suppose to come with a mint dip which was missing and asked for chips instead of rice. The chips are scabby scraps. Then when got home had a bad stomach and spent much of my evening on the toilet. The parmo was lovely but again the chips are scabby. The pizza was lovely and the deserts. We did get 2 kids ice creams free all of £2 each due to the curry being not good. Not much of a curry really a little bowl with few chips should really be served with naan and poppadoms for the £17 it cost. Don’t think I would return really let it down. Good job ordered desert as I was starving still and I don’t really eat a great deal.

Set in a quaint village this Inn seems to be on a roll. Each time I have been there, even at lunchtimes the place is busy and buzzing. Great service, fab food, (new head chef I hear), cosy atmosphere and a covered family friendly area outside. The accommodation (separate building) looks good. Don't forget to log your car registration at the bar to get free parking.

We stopped here for a couple of nights. The rooms are detached from the pub, which in practice should make it quieter, but unfortunately, the floorboards are incredibly squeaky, so if you're on the ground floor, you'll hear every movement above you. The heating is also hard to control, this led to our rooms being too hot overnight. This combined with the noise meant we got very little sleep. Shame as everything else was great, friendly staff, good food and selection of drinks and in a nice location. Just let down by the room.

Meet with friends - food awful. Small plate fish and chips anemic. Not crisp and fish like mush and served up-side down. Chips undercooked. Will not be revisiting - mentioned to staff and no acknowledgement of complaint. We love many Inncollection hotels - BS Helmsley for example is fantastic but won't be back here.

Unfortunately this was the worst experience and review I have given I had been recommending to visit I ordered 3 starters prawns which I will say were very nice fish cake average and chicken wings terrible more bone than meat. I was disappointed that after we I had finished finished eating and the establishment was only a quarter full the waiting staff female that had severed us walked past twice not takeout finished plates nor asking if our food was ok. I never leave a poor review but this experience has definitely given me a negative impression of The Kings Head.

Food is outstanding. The steak was perfectly cooked, best sauces I've ever tasted. Sure it's not cheap but then for this amount of flavour you wouldn't expect it to be. Could have eaten it twice and yes, I'd love a bigger portion but I just can't fault the flavour and how it was cooked. The staff were friendly and professional. The Kings head is situated in the shadow of Rosebery Topping so the scenery is just amazing. Go for a walk, then stop by the Kings Head for some spectacular grub. Breakfast is served from 07.00 every day of the week up until 11.00am. The full English is just the thing to refuel after an early morning hill side stroll. Highly recommend it.

Convenient stopover for Cleveland Way hikers. The pub is situated directly on the A173, with some rooms facing the busy noisy road. Paid £160 per night, for a mediocre stay. The food is acceptable, and the place caters well to walkers.

We love the area and this place is a fantastic location if you're into walking. We stayed one night and the room was satisfactory, full breakfast was really nice and you can help yourself to as much tea, coffee, toast as you want, staff also welcoming. Only issue we had was the price of everything. Just a tad too expensive for what you get, in the evening we both had mussels and although tasty were absolutely tiny, almost more like cockles. My wife had the partridge satay skewers starter which tasted more of chicken, not much different to the ones you buy in a supermarket. Hope things improve. Not sure I'll return apart from the odd pint until there's the odd change.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pub is lovely, well furnished, decorated and very clean. It’s on the expensive side £4.95 for a pint of Theakstons compared to £3.90 in my local. They definitely weren’t the best pints either (photo attached). Lunch portions were generous, however, the food was average at best. Perhaps caught them on a bad day. Cracking location after having a walk up Roseberry Top. Dog was very welcome which is always good.

I had a lunchtime meal with some relatives here. The pub has a cosy atmosphere and has plenty of room for guests. The food was tasty and the service was good. The King's Head is popular with walkers as it's situated near Roseberry Topping and you can join a footpath leading from the premises. It's a nice place and family-friendly.

I came years ago, and it was a nice place. Therefore, I suggested it when I had friends and family up after Christmas. We waited for one and a half hours for food to come out and was told of 'no wait'. We went up and asked 3x, and the food came out at different times and they even still managed to forget one of our orders. No apology was given, and portions were small. As this was between Christmas and New Year, I chose to believe that this may have been a one-off. It was not. We went back in today, and I asked specifically at the bar, "Is there a wait for food?" "No" (it was quieter than my last visit, so I was happy). I ordered the £17.50 Large Chicken parmo, with thick cut chips and salad, and a £16 Chicken Tandoori curry, rice, and Roti We waited 50 minutes (with a walk to the bar to ask where ours was, and to see tables who ordered after us get their food). When it arrived, there was no apology (again), and the parmo had frozen fries on the plate. It's cheaper and nicer getting it from a fast food takeaway. My curry was annoyingly nice. However, I wouldn't say 4 or 5 small bits of chicken in curry sauce is a "Main". It was very disappointing overall.

Hands down the best pub in Redcar. Was however disappointed at getting told they had turned the pizza oven off at 16:35 as we had come out specifically to have pizza in there. I feel that if you say you serve food until 5, you should take orders until 5.

Not very customer friendly and ordered 2 x latte with winter blend, but communication between till and coffee maker was 2 latte takeaway and my husband asked me if I had ordered winter blend and a whisper between till and maker so thought all was ok,but on tasting it was original blend(we have had winter blend on numerous occasions).
