I visited this restaurant once before and had an absolutely wonderful meal. I was looking forward to going again and arrived at 14:30 on a Monday afternoon in mid-June. They were closed despite it saying online (in at least two different places) that they’d be open until 16:00. Very disappointing.

Rude staff here. My elderly Mum and I popped in for coffee just before 3 last Friday afternoon. At no point did any of the three members of staff inform us the cafe would be closing less than half an hour later. Instead they happily brought menus to the table. Mum ordered a scone, complete with (unnecessary) condiments and a cappuccino and I ordered a cappuccino. Luckily we didn’t order a meal as we would have had to inhale it! As my Mum hadn’t finished her scone, I left her there while I nipped out to pick up my son from school. When I got back, she said the attitude from the female member of staff had not been too nice, the implication being she had overstayed her welcome. Well what do they expect when they serve customers food? They have to eat it! When I then mentioned to a male member of staff (owner maybe?)that the fact they were closing was not mentioned to us at any stage and especially at the point of ordering, he argued with me and was really very unpleasant. Then he closed the door on me. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired here. They are very happy to take your money but then rush you out the door. First and last visit here.

Excellent for breakfast, brunch or lunch!Consistently good wholesome home cooked food, great value, in a lovely cosy environment. The service is exceptional and at busy times they keep you updated on how your order is coming along. Have been here several times, with friends and family, and am never disappointed.

Must be the most expensive hot drinks in East Belfast. Can’t justify the price so won’t be back. Shame.

I ate here on Tue 20th Sept 22, and had a small fry. The meal was served promptly and with a nice cup of coffee. Standard of presentation was good and it was all served on quality IKEA crockery. Not just your ordinary white plates here!. Decor was nice with a Wood and Stone theme going on. Service was quick and efficient. Food tasted good and was of a good standard. Points to consider! When putting beans in a Microwave they can become (and were) boiling and would take the skin off your mouth. Secondly Mushrooms are a delicate vegetable, best not to power boil then in Oil when serving with food. Suggest using a little milk, water and butter.

Oh my word, what a find this was. Definitely by far the best Ulster fry in belfast by a country mile. My wife had the breakfast burrito which she commented on being very fresh, tasty & really filling, I had their “big fry” which was such a relief to find somewhere that can still cook a proper fry & make it to a very high standard. The decor Leads itself away from the hustle & bustle of the manic traffic & business of daily life, you will literally feel your body unwind, as your greeted by the friendliest staff that Northern Ireland used to be associated with many moons ago. We just arrived before before the rush around 12:30pm & you could literally see people relax away from the outside world, a very beautiful calming aura. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys a really peaceful place to eat, & the portions are very generous. Think I’ve found my new favourite brunch venue. Thankyou to the lovely staff who welcomed us & ensured are experience was one that would have us wanting & looking forward to return.

Ate here today for the first time and will certainly be back again! Food was fresh, delicious, well presented and a generous portion. Great menu for brunch/lunch. The guys working there were extremely welcoming and attentive. Its so lovely to go somewhere that actually ticks all the boxes, and even better its right on our doorstep! Beats any of those well known, overpriced coffee shops that you find on every high street/ shopping centre, hands down. Keep up the great work Toast!

As a local, it’s a sad fact that this was my first visit to this little café. We found seats outside on an Indian summer afternoon and ordered lunch from the extensive menu. Wow!! First class. I should have photographed the presentation of our small meal but I didn’t expect to be so impressed. Keelan was very helpful and could not have been more attentive. I won’t have to venture any further for coffee or lunch in future. Thank you folks.

I have been a couple of times because a friend lives nearby and does not like to travel too far. Sometimes she pays, sometimes I pay. I find sometimes they charge their own prices... I've been too embarrassed to ask about this. It's also expensive for a Cafe... £7.50 for Filled Baked Potato?? Also the chips are frozen so for the price of the meals I would expect them to be homemade. The staff are really nice but the food is too expensive for what it is and too many times our bill has been wrong. Or seemed wrong for what we got...

This cafe is small but the menu definitely is not, so much to choose from! The freshly squeezed orange juice is amazing & hard to come by in most places so I will definitely be back for that! Only downfall is because it's small and the kitchen is close to where you're sitting you do leave smelling like cooking but this is only a minor issue and it wouldn't stop me returning!

Really good, honest food without the wait. With a wide variety of dishes and the accommodating staff, there's something here for even the fussiest eater! It's small inside, with only a handful of tables but I think this adds to the cosy atmosphere, as does the music choice. There's plenty of parking outside, and even an outside sitting area. A hidden gem in Castlereagh!

This café is just perfect. Warm, cosy & comfortable with car parking at the door!. The menu is vast & varied, you will find something you want to eat here, guaranteed!. My favourite is the huge choice of all-day breakfasts (Ulster Fry, French Toast, Choose your own combination!!), food is always top quality, piping hot, cooked to perfection and very clean, not oily at all. Great Tray Bakes too!. The gentleman that serves is always very friendly and polite. The blonde woman who serves is always miserable. Nice touch that you get a bottle of water on the table, mints when you leave and a loyalty card!. If you haven't been, call in, you won't be disappointed. Excellent value for money.

Although it looks lovely on the outside and a little cosy on the inside, this is nothing compared with how good the food is.Wide variety on the menu from wraps, paninis, soups, sandwiches, potatoes and mains, with lots and lots of choices of fillings. Really good home cooked food.Personally I think the service is quite slow but the staff are all really nice, friendly and will do your meal just the way you want it.It is a great place to take your grandparents or elderly parents- you know the way sometimes if you have elderly folks, they don't like going somewhere knew? Taste is perfect- nothing fancy or over the top, and they most definitely respond well to older people.

Went for lunch with my wife and son. Staff were super attentive upon arrival and seated within minutes. Drinks ordered and order placed all within 5-10 minutes of being seated. The wife went for the special which was salted chili bites with skin on skinny fries and side salad, son had sausages and chips and I had bacon, brie and red onion marmalade panini with skinny fries coleslaw and side salad. Picture below. Overall total was around £30 which wasn't too bad for two big plates of lunch and coke zero and child's lunch. Highly would recommend The Secret Garden to anyone looking for a high quality meal in the Dundonald area.

Popped in to buy a take away scone When I opened it up the scone wasn’t much deeper than a pancake and felt and tasted very dry and stale I had chosen a fruit scone and all the fruit was distributed round edges leaving the middle completely fruit free. The edges were also overcooked The scone sadly was not enjoyable to eat. Not sure I’d be buying a scone from here again Bit disappointed Perhaps not a freshly baked scone?? Their tray-bakes on the other hand are usually exceptional
