Great food - particularly the breaded cheese and the mushrooms - and a superb wine recommendation all for a very reasonable price.

Eight of us ate here last night, and we absolutely loved it. The food was incredible (highly recommended the mussels) and fantastic value for money. There was also a good selection of dishes for the coeliac in our party. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Bournemouth!

Excellent place for a get together with family or friends. Been here many times and staff always pleasant, food and drink (especially the Sangria) good value. Highly recommend. Not a dressy-up place but welcoming and comfortable.

Family run , friendly, delicious fresh and lovely. Staff extremely welcoming upon arrival, fairly busy for a Tuesday night so would love to go back on a weekend day which was recommended by the staff. Highlights was the house white wine, massive glass for very cheap. The chorizo was flavourful and a big portion, all portions are big enough to share. Even the patatas bravas we couldn’t finish, very flavourful and yummy. Muscles were amazing, so much flavour and fresh bread to dip, a must have. Tiger prawns were fresh cooked perfectly and so much flavour it was crazy. Overall everything was delicious and it’s going out new go to spot. ❤️

What amazing tapas! Lovely spicy mushrooms, meatballs, and delicious stuffed olives steeped in plenty of garlic. It's such authentic food, really rich and flavoursome. The sangria is great also. The more elderly gentleman owner from Vigo has some fantastic stories and his son behind the bar is a very professional host. What an absolutely lovely and hearty family affair.

We were very disappointed with the food but the customer service was excellent But it didn’t feel like restaurant it was very empty on Friday restaurant. And it was cold my friend sat in her coat the whole time we were there. We would not recommend and we won’t be returning

My mum and I happened upon this little restaurant during a weekend trip to Bournemouth and both loved it! Lovely family run place, the staff were wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious. The food and drink was excellent value and we loved every dish we ordered.

Walked here from the lodge at Meryick Park for an evening meal. Authentic Tapas, and a great atmosphere as there was a birthday party going on. Good rose wine and great service, would recommend.

This is a restaurant and bar that all local places should have a place to pop into on the way home to meet friends and somewhere to bring family and friends for something to eat it has got its own individual style and you feel completely comfortable as soon as you walk through the door friendly staff and a nice buzz The food is good too give it a go you will not be disappointed And it’s not a chain

Went for a family meal with 2 kids on Saturday night. Food was excellent as was the service. Limited menu due to Covid, but look forward to going when full menu available.

We honestly popped in here because it was the only place with any free tables on Saturday night, and we had two hungry kids. I had no idea what to expect but the food was absolutely delicious. Staff were warm and polite and kept our kids smiling and we had a wonderful time.

We made a booking over a week before wanting to visit (have been before and it was amazing) but when we turned up the restaurant was in darkness and the doors were locked! No call to explain and not even a note in the door - really disappointing customer service. We went to the Moose kitchen next door - they get a 5 rating!

This is the best place for tapas in bournemouth, we first went there 26 years ago and have recently come back to bournemouth and the family still own it and the tapas is fantastic , Even in these. Strange times where their normal extensive menu is reduced , the food is top Spanish quality.Thank you to the staff . Friendly polite and so helpful.If you go out in bournemouth go here .

The restaurant seemed okay and I'd hope is probably better for dinner.I visited at lunch and was given a fairly small menu (maybe it is reduced for lunch?). Still, I was told that about a third of the menu they no longer had which reduced the offerings even further. As a pescetarian, I ended up eating basically just potatoes and mushrooms. It wasn't great either. I think this restaurant may have been good once but is just turning the wheel now. Maybe it just requires someone to wake up wake up one day with a bit of enthusiasm and review the menu/offerings.

This is an amzing restaurant the food is fantastic the atmosphere is great and this is a family run business where they take pride in what they do best I would highly recommend and would go back again.

Went here for lunch. And was greeted to a warm welcome explaining the reduced menu but there was still plenty of tapas to choose from, all the tapas we had was very nice and backed up with great service, would thoroughly recommend

Great atmosphere, very relaxed, traditional feel inside. I would agree with others in that it was expensive for what you got and not particularly flavoursome.

Visited this restaurant on a Friday night. We ordered sangria, which was very good. I recommend the tomato garlic bread and chorizo in cider, but all of the dishes were really tasty and well presented. I’ll be coming back for sure :)

There are numerous eateries in Bournemouth, plenty of Spanish, Portuguese, Thai, Chinese, Romanian, French, etc etc you can travel the globe dining a different meal each night. We were recommended Tapas Plus by the hotel and were pleased to be able to get a table for the whole evening ( a similar more famous Spanish eatery in Bournemouth told us we could only have their table for one hour !!!!!). The decor and feel is a mix between studenty and Spanish community centre, the latter because it's REAL GENUINE Spanish fayre- and that's because the owner is from North West Spain and as a family business( three sons work there) it is intimate and genuinely pleasant.

Tapas Plus is simply fabulous. Great food, great service, authentically Spanish. Casual, friendly and fun. Do not miss!

We spend a lot of time in Spain and struggle to find really authentic tapas made by Spanish people. Went for the first time this week and was very impressed. Very generous tapas and delicious. We will definitely be going back there!

El propietario fue muy acogedor y estuvo muy atento a nuestras necesidades con respecto a la comida, las bebidas y para una charla general sobre experiencias anteriores con la visita a España. La comida era encantadora y bien presentada, así como a un precio moderado. Definitivamente lo recomendaría!

Visitamos este restaurante el viernes por la noche y comenzamos con algunas maravillosas tapas de pescado y marisco y luego continuamos con una selección de tapas de carne y verduras. Todo regado con un par de botellas de vino rosado a un precio muy razonable.

Our visit was on a rainy Friday at 4pm, so the lack of atmosphere can probably be put down to that. Felt like we had stepped back into the 90s with the decor. Nothing cosy or warm about it and in fact I was cold. On the plus side we had an attentive waiter, who seemed genuinely friendly and was very generous with the wine, which was lovely and perhaps too drinkable! Sometimes a limited menu is great but this one felt a bit lacking. I love tapas and I do understand the concept of small sharing plates, this left me feeling unsatisfied. The bread, ham and chorizo felt decidedly average. The manchego not much better. I really did enjoy the fried cheese but that was pretty much it. I felt that it was rather expensive for the quality. Perhaps my expectations were too high, maybe I expected too much but I came away disappointed.

I have to confess that Tapas Plus was one of the first restaurants I regularly frequented when I first came here and it’s never failed to deliver. Family owned & run the food is both authentic and great value. It would take too long to list the menu - it’s all great - but my fav’s have always been chorizo a la cidre, pollo al aljillo, albondigas & frituro de queso. The house red is dangerously drinkable too....

Bueno lo visitamos con amigos. Fue más de 30 minutos en que nos ofrecieron bebidas y yo estaba seco. No había trago tan lejos en el día y estaba desesperado por llegar al restaurante para tomar una copa. El menú era limitado y estaba fechado para ver con precios escritos a mano. Teníamos varios platos de músculos, langostinos, albóndigas, queso, pollo, calamares, pulpos, etc. Todos probamos un poco de cada uno. Lo primero que debo informar es que cada tazón pequeño de tapas cuesta casi 6. Mucho cuando un plato tiene solo 5 rebanadas de jamón bien cortado o cuatro albóndigas pequeñas. Todos los platos tenían un sabor deslucido y realmente no valían la pena. Cada plato estaba grasiento. Los músculos eran pequeños y la salsa sin sabor y grasienta. Las gambas tienen un olor a pescado y el restaurante definitivamente no es ecológico, ya que estas gambas estaban cubiertas de huevos. Estas huevas de gambas deberían haber sido devueltas al mar. Se hizo para gambas viejas en su última etapa de la vida como hermafroditas. La comida me dejó a mi esposa y sentí que acabábamos de comer algo de grasa. Si lo haces en el extranjero y tienes tapas, la comida fresca de degustación es hermosa. Esto sin embargo no fue. Qué lástima.

Disappointing food, the staff were nice so was the wine, but the food wasn't anything special didn't even taste like Spanish tapas.

Stopped by here for lunch. The restaurant is very cute and has a nice conservatory type bit at the front. It doesn't have a large range but it has everything you'd expect from a tapas restaurant. All the food we ordered was very tasty. I would eat here again.

So close to the pier and attractions but just off the beaten track. Owner is awesome, food is awesome, wine amazing and recommend wine was not the expensive one!!

We went for dinner while we had 1 night and pleased we went. The menu is extensive and the waitress was well versed in all the dishes. The food came quickly and it was lovely. Only issue was we had to wait ages for the bill as they were more focused on getting ready to close up than serve us. Shame as it took the edge off a great meal. I’d still go again, just earlier next time!

We (4) dropped in here yesterday 28th, 1ltr Sangria (with an extra JD tipped in) 6 different selections from their menu and all for £39. Very nice! Definitely going back.

This is a fab little tapas restaurant which feels very Spanish from the moment you walk in. The food is really tasty and is traditionally Spanish as is the beer. It’s great to be able to order small plates of food and then order more if you wish. We’ll certainly be back as there is plenty on the menu that we would still like to try.

Visitamos este mediodía, muy amarga bienvenida como si poníamos la mujer. No hay cerveza de barril. . En limón. gin tonic. La comida estaba hecha y seca, ajo pollo había sido recalentados ya que era sólo desconchando, pan y alioli que estaba mezclado con mayonesa de ajo, alioli no dispone de español. . Fue horrible! . Nos dejaron y decidimos irnos. Fuimos al bar a pagar y la mujer puso la cuenta en frente de nosotros, no sonríen, no por favor o gracias. . Tomo pago y su cara nunca alterado. Nunca me he sentido tan incómodo o pasamos la comida horrible o servicio. Es una pena.

Restaurante espanol top top, lo recomiendo al 100%. Para entrantes pedimos unas tapas ( patatas bravas, mejillones a la gallega, pan con tomate) y una paella como plato principal, riquisimo. El camarero espanol muy simpatico. Restaurante a hacer otra vez.

Decidimos probar este sitio de tapas después de una visita a el triángulo. El nombre era engañoso, ya que hizo el sonido como una cadena y restaurante estuvimos encantados de descubrir que era un restaurante independiente de propiedad familiar y operado. El servicio nos pareció amable, rápido y eficiente, y la comida era deliciosa y el tamaño de la porción. Charlamos con uno de los hermanos que trabajaba al frente de la casa que era absolutamente encantador. Estamos muy ansiosos por poner próxima visita para probar la sangría.

We visited tonight for some tapas and were greeted warmly and seated.the resturant has a lovely welcoming Spanish feel Staff were friendly and attentive without being over bearing. All dishes arrived with free bread and were delicious. Great value. We will be back

No soy de comer en restaurantes españoles fuera del país, pero entramos en este local y la comida muy buena. Pedimos cuatro raciones para tres, pues tampoco teníamos mucha hambre, pero quedamos satisfechos y la calidad de los productos se veía buena, sobre todo las rabas y los chipirones. Además, el camarero fue muy simpático.

This was a golf group of eight blokes of indeterminate ages, not an easy customer group. For ease we chose a set menu. The service was quick and friendly (more on that later) and every component of the set meal was outstanding, we have all been to tapas restaurants before but this was truly brilliant. Wine (quite a lot) was good and good value. Very nice atmosphere. So brilliant. But a special mention of our waitress Martha (a member of the family who own this place) who put up with us with good cheer and a smile. This is not the top rated restaurant in Bournemouth, all I can say is that it should be.

Fuimos a comer en un día donde el día no sólo el clima era fabuloso, pero así era la comida y el servicio. Tuvimos una gran chorizo, albóndigas y sardinas magnífico. El vino rosado era delicioso y una buena elección con la comida que llegamos bastante rápido. Bueno y cortés servicio significa ¡volveremos!

On a day trip to Bournemouth, thought we’d try this place.

Went here for lunch yesterday and found it wasn’t at all accommodating for children. The food was average and the service was poor, it took 30 minutes to get our bill.

We loved this place last time we were in Bournemouth and we were looking forward to eating here again on our recent visit for the Marathon. It really does feel like a typical Spanish bar and the food and service are excellent. We arrived for a late lunch just as the owner was getting ready to close but he made us feel very welcomed and served up some lovely fresh tapas which we were able to enjoy in the October sunshine with a carafe of wine. Our only complaint was that they were not open on Sunday evening - otherwise we would have done lunch and dinner there. We shall definitely return. Cheap too!!

Great food, great Sangria, great service! Simple dishes cooked to a high standard, could not ask for anymore that that! Will definetly be back!

Me han dicho que visitar además de tapas por un número de personas, pero nunca he tenido la oportunidad. Visité recientemente con un grupo de amigos y no me decepcionó. El ambiente es lo que hace de este lugar porque realmente no me recuerdan el tiempo que pasé viviendo en España. La comida era buena y sabrosa, pero no volvería aquí si yo estaba buscando una comida elegante. La relación calidad-precio era excelente y el personal era extremadamente amable. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que esté buscando un lugar divertido y acogedor para cenar con un grupo más grande!

As the title suggests the food is excellent. Loved the chicken with garlic sauce. Went with the wife, great venue for couples, friends and family. Staff will go extra mile too.

My family and I have been using this restaurant across 3 separate premises for 25 years. We are always welcomed with open arms, love the food and use it for snacks and coffee when shopping as well as evening meals with friends and family. The food is authentic, (we have been holidaying is Spain for 40 yrs), delicious and the service is very personal. I moved to Australia 10 years ago and have missed my visits, but went straight back tonight with family for my birthday and we were not disappointed. The owner recognised us, greeted us warmly and the food was as good as ever. I can't recommend it highly enough. X

Me and my husband love this restaurant! The food is amazing, the seafood is clean and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. But a piece of advise for who wants to visit the restaurant is to check the lunch/dinner timetable because I went three time to the restaurant and unfortunately they weren't serving food, just the bar was open.

It's been a wonderful evening of phenomenal food, great service and hospitality, spent in a lovely, bustling and sociable environmentJean-Paul and Roberto were real gems, and made the visit really stand outFor two hungry adults sharing 5 dishes, and having 2 drinks each (2 soft; 2 half pints), the Bill limbo'ed in at just under £31, which to my mind is outstanding in itself!When we arrived, it was quiet, but soon got busy. There were a lot of Diners, and up to 12 people drinking at the Bar and playing FußballThe back story:I'm a fan of hunting out the Independents when I visit somewhere, and would've likely found this place of my own accord... but, coincidentally met the Chef (big up, Jean-Paul) who told me where he worked. And so the night unfolded (see the Review above this paragraph) - all from a random encounter between friendly strangers

I went to Tapas Plus for a Hen Do. The food and Sangria were delicious. There was a great selection of food on offer. The staff were extremely friendly and there was a great atmosphere. I will definitely be returning when I'm next in Bournemouth!

This is definitely the best Spanish cuisine restaurant I have found in Bournemouth so far, at a reasonable price. I've been here a number of times as a couple or with family for both lunch and dinner and I have always left happy. They also have some very good wines (house wines included) to offer - so do not fear drinking something resembling vinegar, it's all good.It can get busy, particularly on weekends. This obviously has an impact on the waiting times for service in a small establishment, but I have never been kept waiting for too long and the food has always been worth the wait. It's all relative - if you come at a quieter period then your food will be on your table at lightning speed! The chorizo in cider sauce is absolutely addictive, as are the mussels. Everything on the menu is fantastic in my opinion.

We dropped in here for a pre theatre dinner. Arriving a little early for the kitchen (it opens at 6) the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, arranging a table and letting us order early so we could make the theatre on time.The food was good, but it was the welcome and helpfulness we received that made the experience. We enjoy tapas in Spain so thought we'd give this place a try. The food was lovely and very authentic. We loved the choice & shared 5 dishes between the two of us, which was just right. Pimientos rellenos were lovely, pollo con alijo was spot on & chicken livers were cooked perfectly. Average £5 each all washed down with a lovely bottle of Rioja & a mahou. The Spanish staff were a delight. Many customers were also Spanish so the buzz made it feel like a corner of Spain. Will definitely return to see Jose & the team again.

My husband and I were visiting Bournemouth for one night and having read some great reviews about this restaurant we decided to have a meal there. We ordered 7 dishes and most of them were very disappointing. The patatas bravas was just fried potatoes with some burger sauce on top, the tiger prawns were small, the salad was very uninspiring, the battered squid was served with no sauce to dip them in, the cold plate of chorizo and ham was just bland and the whole meal just didn't taste very good. However, the worst moment was when my husband pulled a long black hair from a piece of chorizo he was eating. He called the waiter over who apologised and offered to replace the dish. We declined and the waiter tried to offer an explanation that the hair may have come from him when he was bringing the food to the table. When we asked for the bill another waiter who I assumed was the manager brought the bill to the table and told us that the cost of the chorizo dish had been taken off the bill. He didn't offer any apology and finding the hair had put us off eating the rest of the meal. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Went to tapas plus last night with friends. All of the dishes were fresh and tasty and delivered in goodvtime. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and felt authentic. The great thing about the place is the service, the waiter was attentive and fun without being intrusive. We will be back

Visited one lunch time with friends for a quick light lunch. We were quite early so the place was quiet, but soon got busy. We ordered just 7 items of tapas between four, but this was more than adequate. There is a reasonable variety on the menu and group menus for large parties. The food came quite quickly and was varied and flavoursome, the sardines particularly so. Coffee after the meal was good and strong.Staff behind the bar welcomed us with a cheery greeting as we came in and the waiter who served the food, drink etc. was very friendly and chatty.We particularly liked being able to sit in the front glassed area enjoying the winter sunshine and views of people passing by. This place is smaller than the competition just along the road, but I imagine for evening meals would have a good intimate bistro atmosphere.A good find and we will certainly visit again when in Bournemouth.

This family run restaurant is just the right place to take a break from shopping. Sit down, enjoy a few olives with a glass of wine, while mulling over the menu.We picked Sardines, baby squid in garlic tomato and cream sauce, Mushrooms with chilli tomato and coriander, Patatas bravas, chicken livers with pancetta and sesame seeds.There was no rush, the ambience was very pleasant, and no doubt we will be back soon. It was so relaxing that I agreed to a second round of shopping!!!!

Great service. Ordered a few times sampling about 8 dishes. Not rushed at all and a great dining experience. Stayed in Bournemouth for the night and decided to come here. Well worth it and hope to come back again.

Restaurant was lovely, food was absolutely amazing similar to what I've had in a tapas restaurant in Spain, and service was really good!

Had planned to go somewhere else and walked by this bar/restaurant3 Spanish speaking women outside made us think must be good.Atmosphere inside was what you hope for in most places. People genuinely enjoying themselves.Food was very good, portions as expected it's tapas after all, chicken in garlic was generous. Two of us ate 5 tapas, garlic bread, bread basket, desserts, carajillo, litre sangria for under £50.Clientele was literally all ages, twenty something, through to 60's. Good friendly attentive service.What is there to dislike.

Very good tapas and great value, atmosphere is just how we like it. Have visited a couple of times and never been disappointed
