Really nice food and great service

Really enjoyed it, great food, great company. Only negative was the pickle tray this was a let down. However certainly i would recommend.

This is a lovely place to eat. The owner and his staff are very nice, and the food is fantastic value.

The waiters were friendly and informative, the decor is a bit plain but you are there for the food.. the food is of a good quality with ample portions. It's very well presented.. we were pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices for good food.. we will definitely recommend this restaurant and will return..

Our first visit, with relatives who had been several times. Food was nothing special, the music was way too loud and remained loud despite asking for it to be turned down. Waitress couldn't pronounce Merlot properly.

A varied food offering in well decorated surroundings. Service was attentive, prices reasonable. A little confusing restaurant / hotel or hotel / restaurant? Nevertheless you should give the Tamarind a try - you won't regret it!

Friendly staff the chicken liver tikka wasn't what I was expecting but fairly tasty all the same. The lamb karahi was ok a liitle bland but better than most of the offerings to the South of the county. The menu is extensive so I would recommend this establishment as a good choice for a curry.

This must be the best hidden gem of an Indian restaurant here in Wakefield and the surrounding area. Second visit and it's querkiness is what makes she's this a great place to visit. Oh and the food is briiliant with a huge and very varied menu.

Great set of staff running this place, they really make it more personable. Food choice has the traditional Curry's you'd expect but there is a great choice of others options for when you feel a bit braver. Highly recommended.

First visit was excellent, food was amazing and staff very friendly. Second visit was a let down to be honest, food was awful, chicken in curry was awful and rice looked and tasted like it had been microwaved. Maybe it was different chef as first visit was a Monday and second Friday. My husband was shocked how I had said how lovely the food was and it was a massive let down as this was his first visit and probably the last.

Booked a table and had a really good meal. Starters were lovely and main course also really good. Restaurant was quiet but the food was great and the waiters were really attentive and nothing too much trouble. Complimentary coffee at the end was a lovely touch. Will definitely be trying again.

Fantastic food, I think that was the best peshwari naan bread I’ve ever tasted. We ordered 2 dishes which we shared, chicken tikka masala and lamb nihari and it was just perfect.

Had food from here at least 6 times now, a mixture of eating in and taking out. Had a few different dishes and all been amazing. Nice little bar to have a drink in before or after too. Highly recommended

Ordered a takeaway for the family this evening ( 5 of us ) when we picked it up they gave us their 20% Black Friday discount even though it’s Saturday 😃 & then carried it out to the car as well 👍 absolutely fantastic service all round & the food was delicious 😋 we all throughly enjoyed it & we will certainly be going to try their restaurant out sometime very soon as it looks very welcoming & cosy. Thanks a lot guys 😊

Went to tamarind restaurant on Saturday with Freinds and family. When we arrived we was welcomed by members of staff we felt the warmth of the welcome which we don't usually see. We were seated in one of the booth, as we entered the booth it felt like we were in paradise, the art Deco and the lovely ligts souronded made us feel so comfortable. When our starter's arrived it was to die for never had such delicious starter's in crofton. Oh my words what can I say the mains were out of this world so tasty and delicious just the right touch . The service was 5* also the waitress Beth was absolutely a star. We met the owner who's called miz he was so down to earth and very friendly , we definitely recommend this restaurant and will be going back every weekend. Keep it up tamarind your doing a absolute fabulous job.

I would say this is the best Indian restaurant in Yorkshire. I have travelled a lot from south of England to the Highlands and tried most of the Indian restaurants but this newly opened Tamarind Restaurant is the best Indian restaurant I have been to. Very highly recommended

Me and my friend had lamb tikka curry was £9.50 it was dry as a bone chewy pieces there was no sauce we had 2 drinks it came out on one plate not very big one person could eat it all we was expecting another one we are not used to Currys a little advice would have been good especially seeing as though it very dry the bill came to £35.70

probably the best Indian restaurant in Wakefield. exotic steaks, lobsters an d traditional authentic food. just amazing.

My husband enjoyed his starter and main course. I enjoyed my starter. We had to wait half an hour for our main course. I ordered Tandoori 1/2 Chicken (with salad and sauce) the Tandoori chicken was far too over cooked. Black all over! And was not 1/2 a chicken ( maybe it was but was so shrivelled it didn’t look like half a chicken) The salad and sauce did not come with the meal and I had to ask where it was. The waiter came with the rest of the meal and apologised saying that the kitchen weren’t copying well that evening! At the end of the meal we asked for the bill.When it did not arrive we went to the desk. Just as we were given the bill the phone rang and we had to wait until a takeaway order was taken. To be fair, when I complained to the manager? Owner ? He offered us a refund. I am not sure that I want to return to this restaurant.

Had a Take Away meal from Tamarind today whilst up here visiting friends and have to say it was AMAZING! We ended up here as lots of other takeaways in the area were closed. Turns out this was a lucky break for us!! Staff were very welcoming when ordering and advised us food would be 25-30 mins and would we like a drink at the bar while we waited. We had a drink and food was cooked and brought to us within the time advised. When we got food home we found that it was cooked perfectly! All the currys, rice and extras were amazing and tasted wonderful. We were all happy with our choices and also enjoyed tasting each others! There wasn't a bad choice among them! Can't wait for our next visit to Crofton as its definatly going to have to include another visit to Tamarind! Cheers Guys!!

Had a takeaway for 7 people and the food was superb and the staff were brilliant. Would definitely recommend and will be using again.

from the outside it looks as though it is closed but it is open 7 days a week, not sure of the exact times. once inside you are assured of a very warm welcome, the owners are of bangladesh origin, the food is of excellant quality and reasonably priced, draught lager is on sale but no draught beer, the overall experiance was we arrived as customers and left as friends. will definately be using again
