Overall excellent experience.... tasty food with good quality and great service... impressed for taking precautions with allergys safely ...Very good place for family and friends love to visit again 😊

Ordered a delivery arrived on time and hot, food was fresh and the taste was fantastic also too mention the friendly delivery driver 🙂

Terrible service from start to finish. Ordered my collection on the app and was told to pick it up at 16.55. Turned up at the correct time and was greeted and told the machine doesn't turn on until 5pm????? I was then told to come back in 25 mins. Returned to pick up my order which was waiting for me for god knows how long, got home the food was barely warm. So I warmed the food back up and them my partner found a long hair in her food. That's the last time I will order here again

The first time of having a bad experience. We had takeaway. The Shatkora which is usually my go to, had tandoori chicken rather than normal chicken breast and the texture was off, like it was sandwich meat, it was hard rather than chewy. I'm really hoping I don't end up ill from it! We weren't warned that there was anything that had to be substituted.

Had take away tonight just tikka wrap chips and tikka sauce... it was so tasty and even though service slow it was worth it

A highlight of winter and Cwmbran here. I have eaten curry up and down the country and was pleased with the quality of what was served out here. Fragrant with a lovely kick of heat but not over the top. I would say that the prices are not cheap comparatively with other restaurants in the area or similar restaurants anywhere in the UK. This is offset by the portion size being large. This means your wallet will take a beating but lunch the next day will be free... Kind of good in the end then 🤣 Whatever the occasion, I would recommend having a meal here if you like a good Curry.

Booked a table ,there was food all over the floor in front of our table there was no effort to pick it up they just moved the tables to where they should be has there was a big party of people ithat were there previously, there ,served us with sauces and popadoms ,waited over a hour for food so kept 2 popadoms for our main meal but because of the humidity in the room they went all limp ,starter was ok but the main meal was disgusting the lamb and chicken was overcooked so was very chewy, didn’t make a fuss has I’m not that sought of person but learnt a valuable costly lesson don’t eat there ever again .

I ordered a takeaway on Saturday via website at 7.00pm. At around 9.00pm we were still waiting even though the website stated it would take 45 mins. I phoned chasing and was told they were waiting for a delivery man. I explained that the web stated 45 mins but was told they couldn't change the time. If it had stated 2 hours perhaps we wouldnt have bothered or collected ourselves. We weren't even offered a discount or given a few free poppadoms. This is not very good customer service and really disappointing as the food is very good. This is the second time this has happened so beware if you want a takeaway on Saturday night order in morning or go somewhere else.

Food was suppose to be here 45mins after ordering, 1.5hr later it arrived Food very bland. A shame as we have been coming here for a couple years. We won’t be coming back unfortunately

Came here with a friend ,the service was fantastic,I recommend the butter chicken it was gorgeous,really liked the mushroom bhaji,great atmosphere,I would recommend booking up as it does get busy,the tables are nicely presented.

Food is very nice and the staff are attentive. I had the garlic rice and butter chicken. It was absolutely delicious. The design of the place is a little bland but the food more than makes up for that. :D

Excellent food and atmosphere. Just if you have allergies, be sure to triple check with staff even when food arrives. There was some confusion with dishes being confirmed as nut free and then coming out not nut free.

A whole chicken is not 4 legs. Keema nan 1 thin slice of meat and seemed uncooked. Just tried again after some time had a mouth full of abuse as my food turned up in a brown bag full of slop

Absolutely amazing food. The best curry I’ve had in a very long time. Presentation beautiful. All good fresh! Must try the naan bread!

Don't bother ordering a delivery from here. It never arrives! My wife and i were using 3 phones to try to find out where it is! She's just gone out in the car to actually visit Tamarind Cwmbran. If you can't offer the service then don't do it. Theres always KFC.

I order a lamp maddrass curry when it arrived its was chicken I ring in and was told that it not there fault and they can't do anything about it Next time order the right food what customer service will not be ordering for them again

First time ordering from here tonight was ok. good rice and chips but curry's wasnt as good as a curry as my usual place i have. lacking less in taste and flavour 100% staying with my normal curry house.

1st time here at the tamarind in cwmbran tonight,and what a great surprise it was.I would go to say it's by far the best I've ever had.. The service to start with was excellent,three of us dined and each had a starter. Poppadums & chutneys. Lamb chops with chefs own medium heat sauce absolutely scrumptious. Lamb tikka starter melt in mouth. Onion bajis really well cooked and lovely.each starter came with it's own 3 sauces.mild chili,tamarind,green yogurt & mint. Mains were chicken tikka biriyani with veg curry sauce, Chicken vindaloo,extra garlic & pilaf rice. Ghandee chicken & mincebeef in a medium sauce & pillau rice. 2 keema nans. All 3 mains were absolutely delicious & most certainly of a good good measure. ( hence a good size doggy bag upon leaving ) I will most definitely be recommending this restaurant to all of my family & friends. And we will be back.

Honestly we are very lucky to have such authentic foid in our midst. Great team. Conscientious and caring and just chatty enough. Well done to this restaurant.

So this was our second attempt at eating tonight after the veggie options at the other place were virtually non-existent. We were warmly welcomed by the team into the restaurant which has smart decor. Poppadoms and chutney tray ordered, nice but we could have done with a spicier sauce rather than the coconut spiced dry mix amongst the standard green yoghurt / sweet red / raw onion topping options. Starters were good (my daughter had the sea bass and my son had the chicken tikka) and well cooked with great flavours to them as well as three dips (sweet / yoghurt / tamarind). Mains were nice - we ordered two paneer dishes which were nice if very similar in taste and appearance. Tarka dhal was tasty with rice. The garlic naan was fine but the peshwari naan was really tasty, one of the best I've had. All in all a good meal, relaxed service, not rushed. It was very quiet but for a Sunday night that can be expected.

Great curry house, menu varied and reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and helpful. Also do take a way via the bar.

We just had the most wonderful meal delivered tonight from the Tamarind in Cwmbran... Fantastic service..... from ringing through the order, the delivery (which was exactly the time they told us it would be delivered ) The onion bhajis were fresh, light and tasty. We had Chicken Rogan Josh, and Chicken Pathia, both had tender chicken in them, and the spices were perfect ...Keema rice, keema naan, and the crispiest poppadoms. Our delivery lady was lovely, and the meal was piping hot ☺️ All enjoyed in the comfort of our home. Thank you chefs for our meal.. Outstanding 👌

Ordered food New Year’s Eve at 19:20, email confirmation to say it wouldn’t arrive till 21:30, tried ringing them to see if we could collect instead or cancel to order something sooner else where but they took their phone off the hook and avoiding people’s calls. Got through at 21:40 for them to say their printer didn’t work so they’ve not done our order. Appreciate its a busy evening for them, but it ruined our new years ringing for hours hungry!

Lovely meal. Always tasty and piping hot. Boxes supplied to take leftovers home so no waste.

Friendly staff when ordering and delivering, deliciously soft and hot food full of flavour and well worth the money. Always a go to when stuck for food on an evening after having had the grandkids for the day. 5 stars!

6 of us went for an evening meal and had different dishes, they were all delicious. Good value too. I had chicken madras, which was yummy and a friend chicken tikka on the sizzling platter, that was delicious

Arrived on a rainy Tuesday evening to be told they have a special offer of poppadoms, starter, main and side and an ice-cream or coffee for only £14.95 pp, what a bargain! If you think the portions were small think again! The food was quick, hot and fresh, the portions huge, so big we had to have a doggie bag. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough. What a lovely way to spend a rainy Tuesday evening, will definitely be back soon, very happy, thanks Tamarind!!!

Had an excellent time there with my mum and sister. Sayem, the guy who served us, deserves a special mention. He was cordial and did a great job of looking after us. Went above and beyond to deliver outstanding service. The food was delicious, and the portions were good too.

TERRIBLE MEAL! We have eaten food from tamarind since they opened. I can honestly say it was the worst meal we have had from them, I've had better supermarket meals. We will not be returning EVER!!!

Ridiculous delivery time got lied to twice Saying my food was out Was out with the delivery driver

The service was very slow and waited ages for our curry when it finally came we had to wait 20mins for our rice and our curry was cold when the rice finally arrived. The staff kept missing orders and getting it wrong ,the coke was flat so we had to buy cans instead which wasn't cold I definitely won't be returning terrible food and service. I wouldn't give it a five star I had no choice but to put a one star as it won't let me post.waste of money.

Where do i start. The Tarmarind Cwmbran. Went to this restaurant for a birthday meal and was expecting it to be great after hearing about this place. Mint sauce that doesnt taste of mint sauce. After telling the manager he said he would make a ‘pint of mint smoothie’ just for us. Safe to say the larger bowl of mint sauce tasted the same. Watered down and tasted of more vinegar than mint. Green sludge. Tikka masala was clumpy falling off the spoon and when mixed was thick like cement i could build a house with it. Also had no taste whatsoever. Garlic naan tasted the opposite of garlic naan. Couldnt lace The Mint Rooms or the Modern Baltis boots in Barry who make most of their food fresh there and then in plain view of the customer. Also they are charging more than a 2021 Indian food winner. Absolutely dissapointed. All the people posting 5 star reviews on about service are correct the service was great and the staff was very helpful but at the end of the day it is down to the food and with the food they clearly have never tasted a proper Indian to distinguish between whats rubbish and whats great tasting. Wont be back.

Food and service were great. Unfortunately there were two large groups dining in, so noise levels were elevated to say the least. There was also a smaller group of well inebriated men in and I lost count how many times I heard the F word! So all in all it didn't make for a pleasant dining experience ☹

First time visiting will definately go back. Staff very polite and friendly. Chicken tikka masala and keema rice omg AMAZING. Portion sizes are quite large but not unmanageable. Overall 10 stars x

Been waiting for 30 minutes for a collection and still waiting. Had food before and it’s okay but if can’t deliver on advertised times for a collection (not even a delivery) shouldn’t take the order.

Great venue, wonderful welcome with helpfulness attentive staff. Food excellent. Ideal location for a reunion which was enjoyed by all. Recommend!

Always, and I mean always, fantastic food here. Whether sitting in or taking away. Sitting in, the staff are extremely kind and courteous and ensure you have a pleasant experience. Had a meal here with my husband last night and we cannot praise the place or the staff highly enough. It is a step above restaurant and as soon as you walk in you are struck by the cool, contemporary decor. There is an interesting selection on the menu and as a vegetarian I was delighted by my choice. Portions are extremely generous and we felt afterwards that we could have eaten half and taken half home! We will definitely revisit!

Lovely food. Wonderfully friendly staff. Plenty of parking. My favourite Indian restaurant and takeaway in Cwmbran.
