Had the monster grill, it was great, but had a struggle to finish it. Watched football on the big telly. Good value for money

Had the "burger mixed grill" Was terrible!! Burger patty seemed like it had been lying around somewhere in the kitchen.Was hard and de-hydrated. Ordered a medium rare steak, came well done, and was tough and smothered in bbq sauce .Chicken wings were ok.Chips were good.Can of coke warm.Wont see me again.

Have been here a few times now food is hungry horse standard food low prices lots of deals for me it's the staff and location that makes it staff are always welcoming knowledgeable about menu offering alternatives and very friendly will be back again soon best to book on holidays etc as it's very busy

I was pleasantly surprised when we stopped off here for a bite to eat. Extensive menu with deals on daily. Food was wholly acceptable and better than most pub chains. The Sharing platters are great value. I'd have no qualms going back here.

Came here with the family for my mums birthday It was quite busy and I put the order into the app and then realised that the blue light card offer couldn’t be accessed on the app so went to order at the bar. As I’d put the order into the phone already I have the phone to the member of staff to take the details off it, a few things that you could make changes to on the app don’t get picked up during the process but it wasn’t too much hassle, I was also using my converted Tesco vouchers and this is where it all went a bit awry, I ended up losing a £20 voucher as they were all together and didn’t pay too much attention to the order I was getting them scanned and accidentally showed her a £20 voucher instead of a £2 voucher and it doesn’t give you change obviously ! Lesson learned The food was all really well cooked and no one had any issues, it can sometimes be a hit and a miss when it’s busy in here but overall we were all happy and stuffed and defo ready for bed after eating The steaks went down pretty well although mine was one of the orders that adaptations were lost in transit, I’m allergic to peppers and the steaks went down was served on the peppers and onions thankfully it was a cooked sauce they were in and I was able to ditch the peppers and onions onto my daughter

Food was ok. Portions weren’t great and nobody was at the bar at any point. Had to keep shouting through into the kitchen where the barmaid was constantly just talking to whoever was in the kitchen

I visited this pub/restaurant before and gave it 4 stars but having visited again I know that it was just my choice that was wrong, offers every day of the week keep the price down but the quality of the food and the quantity are not kept down. The food is more than enough, the flavour and serving was spot on and the price is great.

Staff are very polite and respectful food is of good quality and a good choice Staff always cater for your needs and interact with customers which I think is great

Nice pub grub and as it was a Saturday you get one of the specials for £10, food was freshly cooked and tasty and arrived fairly quickly, coffee was decent, place was clean and the views outside are amazing.

Visited on Saturday 11th January at lunchtime. First time here and I was impressed by the overall look. I thought the menu was pretty extensive and varied. We decided to have the 3 for £12.99(I think) so as there was 3 of us we chose 2 chicken strips and 1 wings, which were really lovely and substantial portions. We then had the mix it up with half a roast chicken, epic chicken new yorker and smothered steak sizzler, all of which were freshly cooked, tasted lovely, well presented and large portions. So after that you'd think we'd never manage dessert but after letting our meal settle we felt we had a bit of room so 2 had millionaire's cheesecake, which came with vanilla ice cream and I'm told it was delicious, I myself had a scoop of honeycomb ice cream which was also lovely. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and engaging, special mention out to the very nice and friendly lovely young lady who I believe to be the duty manager(sorry I never got her name). All in all a very enjoyable few hours spent in a very reasonably priced establishment .

Absolutely fantastic family oriented restaurant with a wide variety of world cuisines on offer. From lush haddock from the Mediterranean sea to exotic curries. Overall a great restaurant situated in a town that I am so blessed to call home.

Lovley friendly staff, very efficient good service & food quick and lovley will definitely visit again . Good variety on the menu .

Meet my friend for lunch here on a regular basis, can't fault the staff, they are attentive and very friendly, food lovely and always hot great place for lunch and lovely views of the river.

I’ve never been to a hungry horse pub before but like other chain pubs same kind of menu. Nice steak & ale pie but my wife said vegetarian lasagna was just ok. Friendly staff popular with families and I think it’ll be good place to sit outside on a nice day.

8 of us came on boxing day. Lovely chilled atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, nothings ever a bother for them in here, great selection of drinks and food, food was lovely no complaints whatsoever. We had a great day from young to old.

Yeah went here for a Sunday lunch and it was very bad i didn't eat any as I say it was inedible.

Cheap and cheerful. No steps so good for prams wheelchairs etc. Generous helpings. Friendly staff.

5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆ Lovely Place With Very Friendly Staff, made us feel very welcome especially LISA, who made sure to check in on us, and let us know dinner had arrived at our table while we had been to busy playing pool. We came here for a nice Lunch, We had the Crown of Burgers Special would highly recommend.

First time I've here and was very impressed. I had the Chicken Tika Masala and it was very tasty with lots of tender chicken and a lovely spicy sauce. My partner had the Macaroni & Cheese with side salad, this was also very good. Will definitely call again.

We had a lovely family lunch here today service was great despite being really busy , got to especially mention the sea bass was out of this world

I scored four as menu needs updated as not specific. When deals are on unless u order at till it's not supplied as standard . Always ask when ordering food was fab drinks staff can't fault place been few times . Have special offers days too worth looking into x would have been 5* only menu or notice should be at till when ordering x

Always lovely food, and great service. Elaine and (I can't remember the guys name, but he's been here a while and has recently had a baby!) are such delights. We are usually here once a week and they make us feel so at home

Great food and Fab service tonight at tail of the bank. We were met at the front door by Elaine who directed us to a booth. Elaine was super friendly and nothing was a hassle. During our visit Elaine made the time to check on our 4 year old. Lovely touch. There should be more Elaine’s in the world!!! Thank you.

Delicious roasted vegetable lasagne with garlic bread and a lovely baked trifle alaska. Service was excelent with very friendly staff always asking if everything was ok. A great view if you're sitting at the window looking out to the boats and the river. Plenty of tables outside and will be great in the good weather.

We went here after the disappointment of going to the Premier Inn on our first evening of our weeks holiday. We thought the choices and value was so much better. We went for the remaining six nights of our holiday. Big thanks to all the staff would highly recommend.

Visited saturday 14th for a catch up dinner with friends, have been previously a handful of times but the service this time was memorable and out of this world! 🤩 Ordered a chicken new yorker that tasted brilliantly, friends had some items that the staff, sophie and erin, recommended us from the menu on what they thought we would all enjoy, and they were 100% correct. Food was lovely, staff were even lovelier. I also enjoyed how the restaurant was quite busy but the waitresses aforementioned still took the time to talk to us, about our visit and also general sincere conversation about how our day had been, where we should go after! Will definitely be back again in future ❤️

Kara is hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by. From the moment I sat down, she made me feel welcome with her friendly smile and genuine warmth. Even on a busy night, she was attentive, quick to notice when I needed a refill, and made sure everyone at the bar was well taken care of. Her knowledge of the menu and efficient service really stood out. Kara handles every situation with professionalism and a positive attitude, making the whole experience so much better. If you’re visiting tail o bank, the food, atmosphere and service is just brilliant

Went in on Sunday evening for some roasts it was very busy the staff were rushed off their feet! But our server Erin was very attentive and made great conversation can't wait for another visit shortly.

Very nice pub with amazing sea views great outdoor space too for fine weather food was lovely very tasty and quick lisa the waitress was very kind and very funny nothing was too much trouble for her she is a great asset for this pub we shall be returning would love other people to try the food here it's probably the best in town

Absolutely would go back without a doubt. Really enjoyed the food. It was mobbed as the sun was out so the service was a little slow. We were there for 3 hours sitting outside and tables around us were still uncleared by the time we left, from when we arrived. However! 100% will be back. The menu has special offers on a Friday - Sunday which was an unexpected bonus.

Had a wonderful time here having dinner with my aunt, food was really good at a reasonable price, served by Lisa who's a wonderful friendly lady, she's a big asset to the place. Would go again any time 🙂

Came across this lovely family pub yesterday, was greeted at the door by Lisa who took me and my family to a perfect table with fabulous views, nothing was too much trouble for her she is such a breath of fresh air the food was served quickly and pipping hot 🔥 Lisa still popped back and forth in-between running around loved the day here thank you so very much definitely be returning 😁

Wonderful pub so friendly all staff were very attentive but Lisa stood out like a shinning star what an amazing person she is for your business nothing was too much, helped me through the menu the choices she told me to try were lovely so tasty and very very high standards i shall be telling my family and friends this is the place to be well done the tail of the bank xx

Went here for breakfast this morning with freinds ordered a bacon butty & a cup of tea bread was stale & blue mould never noticed until i was nearly finished my butty took it back to show staff behind the bar they asked if i wanted another one i said no thanks she then came over & left £3 on the table certainley wont be back here for breakfast !!!

Hi went here for breakfast with some freinds this morning & orderd a bacon buttie on white bread & a tea was nearly finished eating it when i noticed a big bit of blue mould took it up to the till to show to a member of staff she asked if i wanted another one ( no thanks) then she came over & left £3 on the table wont be going here again for breakfast i should have known the bread tasted stale

Been coming here for 7/8 weeks while working away. We came in Sunday evening to be told we can’t play pool because the Scotland game was on. We agreed. After spending several hundreds of pounds behind the bar. We have then asked for the England game to be played they took untill 16mins of play to finnaly put it on. Then we as refused to have the volume on because people will complain. I just find this very prejudice against international football the bar staff was very rude and so unprofessional…:

Not a great experience - food was only just edible, cheeseburger chilli dipper was uninspiring and almost tasteless. Will need to visit Greenock again but won't be eating or drinking here.

Very disappointing. It was our 15th wedding anniversary and our first choice to eat had let us down and searching for an alternative. We came here and were let down again. Chicken wings for starters, all ok, nothing special. 2 x rump steak for main course. Again, very average. Husband paid an extra £1 for extra chips and I still think I ended up with more than him. Peas were overcooked to oblivion, could have cracked windows with them. Coming up to 9pm we were thinking about dessert. At 4 mins past 9, husband went to order to be told the kitchen was closed, no more food. FOUR minutes past!! The place was practically empty, could they not have come to tell us at 10 mins to 9pm - just so we had half a chance, even out of sheer courtesy? For the sake of 4 mins I stormed out in disgust. Left a tarnish on our anniversary dinner to say the least. Wont be back to any other branch in this chain.

It was ok a massive menu reasonably priced and good for kids. Only 2 issues not many healthy options and lack of beer I would normally drink. But it was busy and good for families

Luv going there for a meal, food's luvly, staff friendly. But gets too loud about 7ish with quizzes and music. Nothing wrong with that,but we're too old now lol 😆 😂 🤣 doesn't stop us going back. I would recommend no problem 😊 we enjoy quite a few dishes that's why we keep going back.

Staff cheery and attentive..I had the curry and mate had chicken..both meals excellent and reasonable price..been in this pub a number of times over the years for meals in afternoon and always been very good 👍

One of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Very good value for money. Shame that the service is very poor. You have to help yourself with the cutlery, find yourself a table, order at the bar and pay in advance. Then see how the waitress is handling your glass with her fingers in it. I’ll be back tomorrow for more fish.

The staff were delightful, the food excellent and the service first rate. I was amazed at how keenly priced the items were. The children loved the grab machine that dispensed soft toys.

Visited tail of the bank this afternoon, hadn't intended to but popped in for some lunch in passing and so glad I did! Had a lovely afternoon and staff were very accommodating. Male manager called tam was always around for any queries and served by two girls on different instances, kaitlyn and a girl named Sophie, they where so lovely and chatted away. Made an unexpected visit so comfortable, will definately return!

Payed a visit to the Hungry Horse this afternoon for lunch. Food was excellent and the staff were also fantastic. We were served at the bar by Tam and our food was delivered by 2 girls called Sophie and Caitlan. All 3 staff members attentive. Will be back!

First time in Tail O’ The Bank (& Greenock!) and it was a great experience all round. Food was lovely, came out promptly, and the portion size was just right. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the manager Robert who, despite dashing around collecting glasses and serving people, still found time to make sure everything was ok with our visit. It was the first sunny day we’ve seen in a while so the place was busy which was nice to see, would definitely be back if I’m ever over that side of the country again!

Recently attended for a meal with family and had a great experience, felt well looked after from Rob such a nice person and really made an effort, food was great really quick service. Will be back again. Thanks Rob for being fab at what you do!

Visited the Tail O' The Bank at around 5pm on Sunday 30th of June. We had visited Greenock for the day and had been walking around town since around 9.30. Having worked up an appetite we ordered two roasts for £15, a Turkey roast and a Topside of Beef Roast. We also had a couple of pints each too, Tennents Lager and Dark Fruits cider. £4.40 for Tennents and £4.50 for the Dark Fruits. Both Roasts were excellent! And both were generous servings! Tasted great and couldn't be faulted in any way at all! The pints went down great too. We sat outside and ate, it wasn't overly warm and was comfortable. If you sit outside to eat just be wary of the gulls and don't leave your food or table unattended as I'm sure these opportunists would be off with whatever they can. The whole experience at Tail O' The Bank was excellent, staff were friendly and welcoming and I would highly recommend it to others.

I came in with my wife football was in so busier than usual, most tables were reserved so not a lot going until once staff member helped us. Ordered in app and received drinks and shortly after our starters(sharing platter) after starter we waiting around 20-30 mins for main meal which was steak pie and meat combo. Myself and my wife have been violently sick since will not be back.

Saw on other reviews that this was a dog friendly place to eat, so booked a table for us and our dog, they phoned us up to tell us that dogs are only allowed outside so we cancelled and went elsewhere.

Set in the harbour area of Greenock, I can't co.mentbon the food as I only had a pint of lager but there was plates on the table beside us that were empty so I'm guessing the food must be nice. It's easy to get to and plenty of parking. The staff are lovely and helpful if you need them.

Went for dinner the other night with friends and family for a 50th , it was really good and there was a great atmosphere in the place, Thomas L was fantastic and very helpful, would recommend.

i went in to watch the football with some friends i was in Scotland to visit,we had a really good evening and excellent service in particular by Lisa ? i think her name was, and will definatley visit again the next time im in Scotland many thanks a really friendly pub with great staff

I have to travel a lot for work so thought I would pop in here and it was lovely the atmosphere was nice and the server Lisa boni was incredible and kind and welcoming.

Great venue, great food and drinks at affordable prices. Lisa is a great asset to the team, she was very helpful and professional during our time here and went the extra mile to make sure we had everything that we needed.

Excellent restaurant and service... As a vegan there are limited places with options available and Tail O' Bank came as a surprise. I had their vegan fish and chips and they were amazing.. there ice creams are decent and after a shot of Jaeger bomb and full meal of fish and chips, the ice cream was a good conclusion to the meal... The views are good to and restaurant is enough space to move around. Attracts mainly families and a weekend lunch there is all u need to unwind... Overall great experience and a must visit..👍🏻😊😋

Service was good, friendly staff,clean and tidy tables, and a good selection of beers. If only the food had been edible!!! Dishes weren't to the standard that you get at H.H. Chicken strips,wings, and drumsticks were overcooked,and all hard and crunchy, sauce was cold, heated up but not much better,rice was soaked under the onions and peppers. Chips were the hottest thing on the plate. The last thing that might have been cooked
