WestEnd Greenock in Inverclyde

After never been to Greenock before we went searching for something to eat on a Sunday night expecting not to find much anywhere, well, god damn, the starters... Nachos that are cheap and could feed 4, the mains, I had the Philly Cheese Steak, jeeeeeez that was miles better than anything we can get on the east Yorkshire coast! Phenomenal! We can't thank the staff more as even the cocktails were perfect, cheapest meal on the honeymoon, and most definitely the best! 500 stars!!

Well wow doesn't cut it this restaurant is the hidden gem of greenock we came as part of our honeymoon, food was the best we have eaten the whole honeymoon, portions were huge and the staff were brilliant,very clean and very comfortable and to top it off the cocktails were amazing

We are just out from having a lovely meal for two here on a busy Saturday night. Service was fantastic and food was just enough!Shout out to the bar man who only works a Saturday for giving his detailed descriptions of the cocktails and recommending what works wellWe look forward to returning soon Thanks again

Today visited this restaurant by total chance for a quick lunch. We had a brilliant experience from start to finish. Friendly and professional waitress, amazing attention to detail and presentation and delicious food. Tacos and flat bread all delicious. We'll be back!

Real food served with style. Nachos were hand made and the choice of topping were an added bonus. Huge portion size. Philly cheesesteak was tasty but difficult to finish it all after the nachos. If you're making an afternoon of it try the cocktails!

My wife and I booked into The Westend Bar for a wee Birthday meal. When we arrived the staff where super friendly and helpful. Showed us to our seats and before we knew it our drinks order was taken and at our table.The drinks where delicious. My wife tried a few cocktails which the Bar is known for and she was so impressed she has insisted we get back she she can try the rest. I will not lie I was a little boring and just got a few old fashions. I wont lie I've had a few places claim to make the best OF but they never really lived up to it. The Westend didn't make this claim but they really should have! It was delicious and when we go back it will be the only drink Ill really order to treat myself.The food we had ordered arrived shortly after. Both my wife and I went for tacos. I had the sticky Chicken with sesame and my wife had the Pulled pork and bacon. We also had a side of onion rings and fries between us. The portions where perfect. They left just enough room for dessert and again, just like the drinks, it was all delicious. My wife and I are usually a little fussy but we ate very last bite. The food was amazing and portioned perfectly.For dessert my wife had the Caramac chees cake. Again it was flawless. I have the strawberry Sunday and again it was absolutely perfect.I know this has been a little long winded so to summarise it a little. The food is fantastic, The drinks are fantastic, The venue is fantastic and the staff are absolutely fantastic. My wife and I can recommend The Westend Bar enough.

Staff where great.I love “buffalo” chicken so I had the wings and the burger. I was not impressed with the buffalo flavouring though. The sauce was cold, tasteless and way to thick to be a buffalo sauce. That was my only downside though.My wife lived her chicken wings and her sticky chicken taco’s. And although I wouldn’t have the buffalo stuff again would defo be back as the food was really well cooked.So maybe just send the chef back to the drawing-board with the buffalo sauce.

Amazing wee place we drive passed far too many times without stopping. Hadn’t booked but we chanced our luck and got an early table. Even with a fully booked dinner schedule they were willing to serve us. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. I had the chicken wings off the pick n’ please and joe had the Philly cheesesteak with fries. Just because it was on offer the twirl cheesecake special was ordered to share .

Love this place, the staff are amazing. They work so hard and make you feel so welcome. The food is beautiful and my takeaway tonight was excellent. 😀

I love West, the food is amazing and the bar staff are great too. It has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and not too expensive either... if your into cocktails i would recommend the Expressio Martini:-)

Went here for a meal after changing hands from twist. I wasn’t impressed with the kitchen roll on the tables. It’s more of a family friendly place now. I wasn’t impressed with the food but the cocktails where amazing.

Visited this restaurant on a miserable Friday night staff were very nice as were the cocktails we had,we ordered 2 types of chicken wings a bit over cooked but ok then we had desperado burgers after a few mouthfuls there was a funny taste but we put that down to the chefs seasoning,was sooo wrong both of us were ill after a few hours,I dont know if it was the burgers and wouldn't like to think so but would never return or recommend this place.

Went with friends for xmas lunch no white wine for my friend she took red arrived 12.30 friend had soup bread was damp other friend had bruchetta too dry had to ask for dressing by 2.00pm still waiting on meal friend had to leave as she had patients waitress distressed crying and apologetic I got Mac n cheese, cold sent back came bk mush other friend got turkey dinner roasties n veg hard stuffing disgusting we were told we wouldn't b charged as one man down should have told us situation when we arrived would have been professional thing to do I put comment on local Facebook chef called me silly mare and continued to abuse and insult me had to block them totally unprofessional and vindictive.

Best food and cocktail menu in town had chilli nachos amazing presentation excellent staff go out there way to accommodate you we will definitely be back keep up the goid work

Went for a family meal and played Tekken 2 on the large screen. Food was amazing then we thought it was a good idea to try the mild spicy sauce that's next to the bar.Fxxk me sideways, I had the fire from hell in my mouth even the bar staff tryed it for the first time.Well karma is a funny when u watch the bar staff run for ice cubes.Thanks guys had a cracking meal and brilliant night.....

Brilliant food. And lots of it we had the chicken wings. Beef chilli and the chicken in toasted bread (can't remember the name) but it was amazing fantastic taste and the sizes of the portions was large well worth the money.Brilliant atmosphere and music unfortunately we were driving so we never had the cocktails maybe next time.This is a wee gem of a place.

We went here for a quick drink and were not disappointed with the tremendous cocktails we had . This led us to have a look at the menu and in turn decided to order food . The food was ok and some were really good , most notably the quessidiallas. It was small things like the seasoning of dishes that let the food down . The tomato sauce or Napoli with the bought in chilli poppers that let it down. Cocktails tremendous but food let down by lack of care about ingredients .

We have came in for an impromptu lunch and took advantage of the 3 starter for £12 option, it was a bit like tapas but with bigger portions, everything is homemade and absolutely delicious. Well done to the chef for packing a huge amount of flavour into the food. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I think we have found a new favourite place to eat.

So I have visited West 4 times now and I cannot see me returning. I have had 2 good experiences and 2 awful ones.The biggest issue is that there is no consistency with the food or service for that matter. The first time I visited and the food and service was great. I raved about the place to my husband, so we visited a few weeks later. I ordered the same thing and it was totally different. The chicken tenders were look warm at best, but we had waited so long we didn't want to send them back. The burger I got was not on a par with the one had I the first trip either.So fast forward a few months and the launch of a new menu. I met my friend there for lunch and we had a lovely time! The food was really good, the service was top notch, so why would I not recommend it for our next girls lunch.I arrived on a Sunday at 1pm, the girl behind the bar (blonde with glasses) looked at me then continued to speak to the customers opposite her. Finally she spoke to me and I asked for a table for 3. I went to a booth and waited 10 mins for my friends to arrive, at no time was I asked if I wanted a drink while I was waiting.We ordered our food, I ordered korean chicken and some tortilla chips with salsa. The chicken came out cold, because it was squashed in a tiny bowl with coleslaw at the bottom of it. I explained that when I had been before it was presented lovely on a nice plate, the waitress cut me off and said it was a new menu - it was the same menu as before. Anyway I got my chicken re done and still never got my tortillas and salsa.The main issues I see - customer service, write an order down if you want to remember what everyone has ordered and be consistent with how your food tastes and is presented.I certainly will not be back, which is a shame because there is real potential, but it is too much of a risk!

Got a takeaway. Food is extremely overrated. Portions small with mediocre taste and cold. We got a delivery and literally live around the corner so don’t know why it was so cold. Disappointing.

Food is lovely a small varied range on the menu - fajitas are recommended, and it is hot and freshly made, service is very good guys are very attentive without being intrusive. Good selection of drinks to choose from I would recommend that you give it a try. There are too many places closing down in this current climate keep our local businesses open by using them, no point complaining there is nowhere to go if you don't use these places they will dissappear

Lovely setting lovely atmosphere amazing food and some live music also. Really enjoyed our meal, prices where decent too. We will be back again

Visited this place last night with some friends and so glad we did. We hadn’t booked but managed to get a table , we were told straight away there was a delay with food servings due to a chef not coming in which was fine as we were in no rush. The menu is fab with lots of real American / Mexican style dishes , plus a very adventurous cocktail menu! One of our group ordered a bizarre cocktail that she hated but the wonderful staff realised she didn’t like it and exchanged it for something else - the staff were amazing , so helpful and friendly and our food was absolutely lovely. The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely and we will certainly return. Highly recommended

We popped in here as we had a last minute chance for a quick meal. Place used to be called Twist and was great before so thought give it another go . Well .. met at front door bar area which was quite loud and got a table easily. Place was nice decorated and then the service. It’s menu looked Mexican based. Young girl took order for drinks and food. I eventually had to go up to bar to ask where drinks were. Then eventually starters came I had chicken wings which were nice and spicy. My parter ordered nachos and got what looked like a pizza which turned out to be a deep fried wrap with some salsa and creme fresh and a few bits of tomato. Wish I’d taken a pic. During this we noted how poor the table service persons manner was,butting in during conversations and just poor manners in the way stuff was served. The mains ordered was prawn and crayfish tortillas and a buttermilk chicken burger, thankfully I ordered a side of chilli fries. As you can see I got two small wraps with prawns and crayfish with some salsa and onions which was completely tasteless. My partner got what can be described as a tiny bit of chicken encased in a concrete like batter substance which was inedible. We did say to the Waitress about it but she just said ahh ok. So all in all place let down buy the food and service

The menu on offer here offers something different to the usual burgers/pasta/fish dishes. Really enjoyed it and will be back again

I've been to west on many occasions now - and never been disappointed.

Cool and trendy Food great , plenty, tasty and warm Drinks plentiful and great choice of cocktails and beers Staff were spot on attentive but not overbearing We will be back

We ordered from West a takeaway meal. Menu looked good, we ordered onion rings, chicken burger, sweet potato fries and tacos. The onion rings had no taste to them and the batter was “wet”. The tacos were also bland and the pork was very dry. The the chicken burger was again “wet” and watery when bit into which was not nice, and the batter tasted and felt over cooked. All food was cold when it arrived, despite this, the fries and sweet potato fries were still quite good. For the quality and and actual flavour of the food it is not worth the price as it was £10 for a burger and £7.50 for tacos which my partner could not finish as was not good enough to eat.

Great lunch. The chicken waffle was excellent. Service faultless and happy. Can't rate this place highly enough.

I had garlic bread with cheese which the cover in chilli and peppers regardless of the instruction of please don't do this.

What a cool place to eat! Food was great, great selection of dishes and the service was friendly and great too! I loved the small touches like serving a glass bottle of cucumber infused water for the table ! Will definitely return !

Lively place, cocktails are lovely. One of the staff members was quite abrupt which put me off a bit but the rest were lovely. Will be back.

Tried West for the first time. Food menu looks good but my friend and I were just having cocktails. My friend had a strawberry daiquiri but I tried a Liberace which was one of the decadence cocktails which come with a small bottle of prosecco in them and it was delicious. A really quirky idea and I loved it. There are two more the Sir Elton John and the Kardashians and I plan on trying both of them too. Thanks to the staff who were really friendly and helpful.
