Tafarn Bach in Ceredigion

Lovely pub with extremely tentative and accommodating propietors. My dad has dementia and they couldn't have been more helpful and nicer to him. We were strangers here on our first visit but they treated us like their favourite customers. They treat all their customers like that. The food was amazing and generous! Can't fault this traditional Welsh pub. We would visit regularly if we were more local to the area. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

On holiday locally. Had three evening meals - 1 Saturday, Thursday and Friday. Home cooked food by landlady on these evenings. Well prepared - not mass microwave stuff Gave advance notice - lovely whole lobster. Steak home made pie to die for. Wholly recommend it. David and Joy [Nottingham]

Staying nearby and called in on our way home from a day out on our last day. What a mistake, wish we had done it sooner!! Warm welcome from all, also welcomed dogs with open arms. Food was fantastic, truly a little gem!!

Come down on holiday looking for somewhere to eat found this place we were made to feel very welcome hospitality was outstanding they went out of there way to serve us we would highly recommend a visit here we will definitely go again

Had a takeaway vegetable curry chips popadom and sauce takeaway Thursday.Again it was lovely worth the drive. We are loving the food can’t wait for you to reopen to come with family and friends

Booked for a meal with myself a fussy vegetarian and a meat eater . The landlady designed the menus around my awkwardness . A lovely bean soup . I asked for the sausage and mash veggie which was lovely . My partner enjoyed his pizza which he choice all the toppings for . Chunky homemade chips were a must even though not needed . Large choices of drinks and staff helpful and welcoming . Would highly recommend a visit . A great hidden gem will be returning soon .

Best fish and chips and had the take away vegetarian lasagne, fab and compliments to the chef , she is truly dedicated and very friendly and the staff. If you appreciate good food you must give this place a try. Wine is fab and be seeing you soon thankyou.😀😀😀👌👌👍

Found this great place on our travels, the friendly welcoming staff were a delight & have a highly knowledgeable insights of the local area. Off the beaten track (but not to far) 15 mins from Newquay... For value for money I highly recommend a visit! With live music most Friday’s, traditional pub meals & to top off a cafe serving breakfast till 2pm next door. Best value in the area! Bravo!

only moved to Wales a few months ago and we have been trying different eateries and this we must say does gorgeous breakfasts so will return for more for sure. Sarah & Tim set up the cafe and boy what a good decision that was. Great food, great value and lovely people. Don't expect to have swanky decor but what you have got is spotlessly clean, 5* hygiene certificate and really good quality produce. Worth a visit as this is one nicest breakfasts we have had :-)

Yet again we had a fab breakfast at this lovley country pub. Fab food great friendly service. Definitely a place to visit.

What a brilliant pub!We stumbled across Tafarn Bach after a very long drive over from Derbyshire. We were lost, the post code of the property we were staying at took us to the middle of nowhere.We asked for directions and were kindly directed to where we needed to be. We enquired if they were still serving food as it was past 8. Thankfully they were, so after checking in to our property, we returned. Brilliant beer and cider, lovely food and we can’t thank you enough for how lovely you were to our frustrated, highly energetic collies.

I visited on a Thursday evening as I was working in the area and staying in a B&B nearby. The landlords are very friendly and great hosts. The steak I had was cooked to perfection and I could easily have drank the night away there if I wasn’t driving and up for work the next day. If I’m ever back in the area I’ll definitely go back.

Finally got around to having brunch there, and glad I did. They are open till 2pm for breakfast / lunch and the food is great. Friday night it's a great venue for acoustic music and sing along, real party atmosphere. They serve food in the evening too. You will be made welcome!

We went Thursday evening for the steak night here - brilliant welcome . Friendly land lords , great sense of humour and very welcoming. We preordered meals and boy we were glad we did . The steak was amazing , home made chips , beautifully presented and very reasonable price . Highly recommend this place to eat . 10 out of 10 .

Having stumbled upon this pub it has become a regular trip for me. On Friday nights there is informal live music from talented locals having a nice sing a long session. It’s one of the few pubs in the area to serve Thatchers cider which is a welcome break from other pubs in the area only selling Strongbow. I was made very welcome by the staff and the locals. I true pub a hub for the local community. As for food. There is a great menu in the pub but they now have a little cafe running during the day that serves an absolute cracker of a breakfast. It’s also encouraging to see the 5* Food and Hygeine certificate on the door. An out of the way little gem of a pub and cafe

Waw - what can I say fathers day lunch here was amazing - turkey and beef carvery all freshly cooked and choice of homemade puddings - the caramel cheesecake was to die for . The Landlords Sara and Tim and the staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble - well worth a visit

Enjoyed a really great Sunday lunch today At Tafarn Bach, Pontsian, along with my wife Allie and two friends Jane and Paul. All freshly cooked (none of your frozen rubbish here) by Sara and Tim and served with a smile! Unfortunately the desserts were also to die for !!! So much for my diet !!!! If you're looking for good food at sensible prices I promise you, you will not find better...

The Tafarn Bach is a great, family and dog friendly pub. Tim & Sara always make us feel welcome and the real fire adds to the atmosphere. Our dog gets his own bowl of water and whilst the kids enjoy the selection of board games on offer and work their way through the handmade fudge, we are free to enjoy a relaxing pint and chat to the staff and locals. Thanks Tim & Sara!

Really enjoyed the Sunday lunch at Tafarn Bach, choice of meats, loads of lovely fresh vegetables, great cauliflower cheese & roasties & honey roasted parsnips. Chocolate roulade and peach cheesecake -wow! delicious! all desserts are handmade by Sara. I know where to come if I want a special pud made!! Great and friendly service from Tim and Sara too. Thank you.

Watched the rugby on Saturday and returned on Sunday for lunch. A jewel of a find staff and locals friendly and one gorgeous dog behind the bar.

We arrived Friday to the area, directed to this pub by the local shop. Very friendly people who run it. Quite a few characters in there to. Serve food- those didn't try any the locals recommended it. Keep up the good work.

After driving up during the day to check the opening times, very disappointed to find it closed. When I found it eventualy open, there was no beer. When there was beer there was no food! There is no point going there as it is hardly ever open and when you venture up to the door to find it closed, becareful as it is very dark and there are several obstacles placed to trip up the wayfarer. IN SHORT A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

Been here twice now for Sunday lunch since the new landlords took over. Food is lovely and kids under 5 (I think) eat for free. And very reasonably priced!

Tafarn Bach is our local pub ( 4 miles away !!), Sara and Tim and the staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome.

There were eight of us staying in camping pods in Wales for a week. Age range was from 3 - 72. After a couple of nights of cooking outside in the cold, wet Welsh weather we were quite desperate to have some hearty home cooked food.

A great find! Had Sunday lunch here with the family today and was very impressed. Lovely welcome, fitted us in even though was busy. Choice of two meats with all the trimmings. Homemade desserts were delicious. Will definitely be back.

Visited here on Sunday 23rd July and have to say had the most friendly owners and locals had a fab time and the food and deserts were gorgeous thankyou for making us so welcome would recommend to anyone if we are ever down in llandysul again will definatley be back even had a laugh trying to get Gary in the boot I tried to rate all service food and value top marks but the buttons won't work so 10/10 for all
