Waited half an hour for drinks in an empty cafe. After waiting 20 mins we mentioned we had a boat trip in 40 mins and would the pizza be ready we were told ‘you’ve got no chance’ by a young man. All the drinks and food were served all together after a 40 minute wait. The food was ok but I won’t be rushing back.

Went to sit in for some lunch. Food and drinks were tasty. The main issue was the service. There was only one employee taking orders, making drinks, and cooking, so everything was slow to come out. Not ideal with two toddlers. However there is baby changing facilities (including some nappies) in the toilets which is great to see in an independent business.

It’s a nice little cafe run by a friendly & helpful man who gets the orders out even though he was alone. The ciabatta’s were fine but the scones were supermarket bought & let them down, especially when they are served with Rhoddas cream, which deserves better.

The reviews for this cafe were exceptional so I thought I couldn’t go wrong with a lunch time panini. But for £4 each I feel ripped off. Had a tiny panini with a slither of filling, I couldn’t even taste the mustard in the beef and mustard panini. The staff were really friendly and the brownie was really good, but the sandwiches were just over priced. I have attached a picture. But it’s nothing like the pics of baguettes etc I have seen left on reviews.

Every time we walked past Bosun's Locker we talked about how nice the coffee smelled and when we popped in at the end of our holiday we were not disappointed. We are a family of four and they were happy to make adjustments to their food for our children (no avocado in one sandwich and just making up a plain cheese sandwich for our youngest). And the crab sandwiches we had were delicious. When I was talking to one of the owners he said they had only had the keys a week but nothing to suggest any teething or settling in problems. He said he used to work locally roasting coffee so I guess it was no surprise that the coffee was so good. We bought a bag to bring home and are still really enjoying it now. Not much left though!!! Up until now our 8 year old had the vanilla milkshake from the beach cafe at Hummanby Gap near Filey as the best ever. The one here was as good as that he says, a solid 12 out of 10, can't say fairer than that! The owner said that when restrictions have eased they will be selling sourdough pizzas so we hope we will be back one day for that.

Went there for a Sunday lunch end of July and the food wasn’t the greatest, the meat was thin and just folded in half like a slice of ham, very little portions for the price you pay, compare to other places in the village. Have been here for a coffee and cake also and that was lovely but as for Sunday lunch, an improvement can be made.

Fantastic Sunday lunch, Just like you would have at home. Thank you ladies. We ate roast beef, yorkshire pudding, swede, roast potatoes, gravy, creamed leeks. Yum! mouth watering as I write this. This place was lovely and did not seem very popular being up the hill away from the main attractions. However, was worth the visit. We would like to give it a decoration to make it more appealing from the street. With painted tables and table cloths perhaps. But the food was perfect.

We went for our annual visit and was disappointed to find that the restaurant had changed hands and wasn’t as good as previous years. Meat was tough and not as much of it. No where near as many vegetables as in recent years too. Wasn’t offered any puddings and didn’t see the lovely cakes and desserts as there used to be. Visited here today for a father’s day lunch after reading the excellent reviews. However, it seems the previous owners have moved on. Went in expecting to have a beautiful Sunday lunch, was unfortunately quite disappointed. Although the service was good and the ladies working there were very friendly the food was pretty tasteless, the beef didn’t appear to be cut from a joint but rather precut slices, the peas were hard and disgusting.

The staff were so welcoming, we had a sunday lunch which was a choice of 1, 2 or 3 meats, yorkshire puds, roast ptotatoes, parsnip, stuffing, gravy and loads of veg. Really tasty food served in a relaxed atmosphere. Pudding was something from their 'naughty list' or exensive homemade cakes to choose from. We were too full but elected to take a slection of cakes home to enjoy later. This was a gem of a place if you are looking for good honest home cooking without any pretence or pomposity. We think the owners are retiring at the end of the year- this will be a real blow to locals and visitors to the area, but from our one visit we wish them a very happy and well earned retirement.

We have holidayed in New Quay three times now. Every time we have visited Bosun's Locker. The owners are so friendly and accommodating. The food is very good, traditional and largely, if not all, homemade. On Sunday there was a choice of three meats or a combination of all three, with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, stuffing and awesome gravy. On top of this the vegetable accompaniments were carrots, peas, sprouts, runner beans, new potatoes, sweet red cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and broad beans! We have had Sunday dinner here once before, a couple of years ago but this was even better than I remembered.
