Taboo Bar & Bistro in Midlothian

Went for the buffet today tbh it was disgusting chicken was like jelly there was hardly any food not a great choice and it was only open 1 hour expected everything to be fresh think it was the left overs from the day before will not be back been feeling not well since I ate it

The place is amazing first time with my partner and daughter the server was amazing would definitely recommend this place too anyone great job will definitely be back

£9.99 eat as much as you can plenty choice will be back

A little sharp arrived as they were opening, served starters to our table, very nice. Then munched my way through the buffet. Back for puds. Barmaid in leather trousers was rather tasty too.

Very tasty and fresh food. Plenty to choose from. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend a visit.

Was in for a birthday meal with my niece and nephew after we had been kayaking locally Went in to taboo to see how it was getting on noo efter being on the canoo Lovely staff a that a gelled with like glue. But the food wiz hard to chew and the popadoms wer auld and no new. But Al be defo back when a get ma big doh off the brew Bipitoibpitiboo the noo Nah jokes a couldny eat it coz a was fried happy birthday Kieth Weeks

I ended up here by chance after my first plan for dinner fell through. And I'm thanking good for that! Best Indian I ever had! Fantastic service they couldn't do enough for us. They are dog friendly in the car area despite having carpet which is nice for the dogs, in this very wet night. I can highly recommend Taboo bar & bistro

I came here with a friend last night for the Indian buffet. Biggest waste of money. Upon arrival to the buffet, we grabbed a plate to see that near enough all the trays at the buffet were empty of just about finished. In the half an hour I spent there I saw no chef go and replenish the food. Also none of the food in the buffet was labelled to say what I was dishing on to my plate. Plate up and head back to my table (which was wobbling all over the place) to take a bite and discover the food was cold. There was a display full of desserts which looked the best of the lot, but turned out just to be stale slices of Costco cake. Wont be back.

Stumbled across this little gem and glad we decided to stop. Very reasonable priced and the food was excellent. One happy customer :)

Really Good food , pleasant people can't complain . Everyone enjoyed their time and more importantly the food .

The service was a little strange when we arrived we weren’t sure if the man was the maintenance guy, the bar man, the waiter or the owner but he appeared to be them all. He was really friendly once you got into conversation and the food was delicious.

Food was Delicious, we had the steak and ale pie, open steak sandwich and dirty fries with bacon and cheese. Would highly recommend, great service and friendly staff! Thanks Rab!

Food was gorgeous 😊 we had the fish and chips. Fish cooked to perfection. I'm not normally a chip person but these chips were great, twice fried I think. Crispy outside and fluffy inside. Home made tartare sauce and mushy peas with mint. Posh pub grub. Staff were friendly too.

Recently renovated, the pub is now named Taboo bar and Bistro. A few teething problems with Chefs however it is welcoming and friendly.

Good entertainment but no dark beer available on a Saturday night....really?
