MJ hosted a splendid lunch and the chef showed considerable.skill worthy of a Michelin star for his wild mushroom risotto.and pistachio creme brulee .The Gard Rhone varietal red wine was at the perfect temperature for a sunny day .Very stylish restaurant. You won't do better anywhere else in outer London .On this showing I would like to sample every dish on the menu .Highly recommended as the cookery is world class..

We had been perhaps six months ago and had a decent if slightly expensive bistro style meal but last night was very disappointing. The starters were fine, but the main courses were not. My wife had calves liver and when asked how she would like it done answered pink. It was brown, when the waitress asked how things were my wife pointed this out and the waitress returned from the kitchen to say the chef says it has taken on the colour of the sauce, what absolute nonsense. My mussels were unnecessarily covered in chopped raw garlic which made them really quite unpleasant, which I also pointed out. No concession on the bill, we paid a hundred pounds with service, two starters two mains and a bottle of house. Really not good enough I am afraid.

We were looking forward to our visit to a French restaurant but will not be returning. Overpriced and very poor customer service. The attitude of some staff members was brusque and anything but service with a smile. A starter of mussels came and while there were plenty, they were tiny and several shells were empty. You expect top quality mussels in a French restaurant. The goats cheese starter comprised of the thinnest 2 slices of goats cheese. I was shocked and not what I expected for £9. The worst aspect of the evening was a charge of £1.50 for a few slices of extra bread, which should have been served with the mussels and other starters. Overall, we found the whole experience to be disappointing and will not return to a restaurant that serves such mean portions by miserable staff. Our mains were OK but everything served was very thinly sliced, which does not equate to good value.

A lovely French restaurant, great food and great value. I took mum here for her birthday lunch. The food was delicious. Proper french food from a small but well constructed menu. It was unpretentious and very good. We had calves liver and duck for our mains. My only complaint was that I could have eaten twice as much of the lovely sauce. Followed by pistachio crème brulé and fig tart with pistachio ice cream. Plus soft drinks, service etc under £70. We will be back, I want a chance to try the starters and some of their other dishes.

Here I am again, please see my last review of June 2019 . Nothing has changed, still the best French cuisine in London. The service, presentation and food were outstanding Sorry I left it so long since my last visit.... can't wait until my next visit Cannesdid ..... surfingsyd

To find a restaurant which is not a pub chain, a KFC poor imitation or worse in North London is a rarity, but to find one that is as close to a proper French Bistro as is La Table du Marche, is a real delight. This small restaurant is a rose between thorns. The menu gets pretty close to traditional Bistro offerings. The service is a tad haphazard but both largely professional and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. One criticism is the few European wines and fewer French bottles. The food is well prepared and tastes of the Left Bank. Even on a busy Saturday night, the atmosphere was warm, friendly and comfortable. We will be back.

I was disappointed with the food and wine that a group of us had at dinner. The food was ok but not memorable. Several of us could name places that we'd been recently, that serve better tasting steak for nearly half the price. (e.g. Flat Iron) The wine was again ok but way over priced even for French wine. The managers attitude was strange as if their mind was on other things. This is the most generous assumption I can make for what was poor customer service. It is local to some of us so I do wish them luck.

Had a great meal here the best muscles outside of France. Huge portion. Had escargot also very good. Our companion’s meals were also very good. Fresh , good quality bread too. Friendly service and will certainly return.

Lovely friend’s birthday meal here last night. Great food but half way through our main courses we were told we have 15 minutes to clear out as the next party were waiting for their table booked for 8.30pm! Sudden end to an enjoyable evening! 😢 Xxx

A local French restaurant with real delicious cooking. A gastronomic pleasure. Simple menu with good balance of choices. Excellent and skilled service from people who have worked for the restaurant for a long time. This is a place to savour and support. I had the warm beetroot and blue goat cheese followed by sea bass fillets with dill Pernod sauce, each element perfectly cooked and flavoured, utterly delicious. I wish I’d had room for dessert! Lunchtime set menu for £22 is amazing value for such perfect cooking.

Good atmosphere. Delicious food reasonably priced. Service was friendly especially from the male servers. The young waitress however could have raised the odd smile and been a little more cheerful. This however did not spoil our evening and we will be returning.

Excellent food and service and first class wines. Our party had beef bourginon smoked haddock with poached egg and spinach steak with frites and sea bass and every dish was delicious Staff were very attentive despite the restaurant being very busy One of our favourite restaurants

Our daughter joined us at the last minute on a very crowded saturday night service but was warmly welcomed, with a table brought in from outside for her. Delicious snails, welfare friendly foi gras, and scallops followed by great vegetarian food and a delicious seabass.....we only had room to share a pud but the pistachio creme brulee was a triumph . Thankyou so much guys, we just wish we lived a bit closer!

Had another outstanding / top notch lunch. Traditional french food served with pride by delightful staff. Prix Fixe lunch £22 for 2 courses or £25 for three. Amazing value

Fantastic food and service - I cannot fault this place - it is without question one of the best restaurants in North London and an essential visit for anyone heading East Finchley way!
