Excellent coffee plus a sfogliatelle - Italian lobster tail custard filled pastry - which was absolutely perfect. All on. Special for four GBP.

An Italian deli with a dining area. Nice food (with many vegetarian options) and friendly service. Good value. Recommended.

We were in the area on Saturday evening and stopped by to sample a glass or two from their extensive range of wines. We were immediately struck by the relaxed atmosphere and warm welcome extended to us by the proprietors, who were extremely knowledgeable about all their wines. We opted for what turned out to be the most delicious bottle of Italian red, accompanied by a superb plate of charcuterie and cheeses. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

We have just moved to the area and had heard good things, all justified. Lovely home made pasta dishes mainly, delicious burrata ( with a nice smoked top). Extensive wine list and sweet service. Glad to have it nearby

Have just had a very wonderful meal at symposium. Started with some great italian meats and cheeses, then some delicious home made pasta, followed by one of the best tiramisu we have had! Thanks for a lovely night. We have been coming to Symposium regularly since we moved into the area a few years ago. The food and wine are always fantastic, the team super friendly and they always have great options to take away for antipasti at home. A really great local Italian.

A rare find in Roman Road Excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere and superb service. We had two starters and a two mains and they were delicious, beautifully served in generous portions and everything tasted really fresh and great quality. I will definitely come back

Just moved to the area and found this gem of a neighbourhood Italian restaurant. Calm and attentive service with staff happy to explain the menu and the provenance of the dishes. Food was well prepared. We had the pasta mains and the traditional deserts. The wine list looked extensive and well priced though we stuck to the house wines. This place deserves to be very busy.

I would highly recommend this place food was tasty and my partner was so impressed with his chicken said was best he’s tasted was all very nice and Anna the waitress was so lovely and friendly and the chef also he knows how to make you some good food if pass here worth going into you won’t be disappointed.

Symposium has become a staple of ours during lockdown-I'm only sad we didn't discover it before. We love trying out the different wines they have in stock-Really great selection, reasonably priced - and with someone kind and knowledgaeble on hand. We've also ordered their takeaway a few times and it never disappoints!

Best local Italian in East London. We always use the restaurant, but a lot people get their wine there or something from their small deli for takeaway. We have had multiple dinners there, all notable. Our last dinner had one starter (baby squid and sweet potato), two mains (porcini lasagne and gnocchetti pasta) and shared dessert (type of almond cake). From our other dinners the gelato was notably good.

Symposium has a very nice ambience inside. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Our host was warm and welcoming. The food was excellent and well presented, delicious. The desserts had the restaurants own interpretation and were delicious.

There were nine of us celebrating a family birthday. We were extremely impressed by the knowledgable and courteous input from the Patron, who created a three-course dinner selection, with red wine, for us. We had never before tasted nettle risotto (which was delicious), and the fresh pasta with truffle was also delightful.

A beautiful restaurant with amazing food and atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and made our experience the best it could be . The choice of delicious food were endless, and the desserts were lovely. I will definitely be coming back.

Another wonderful meal at this Italian deli and restaurant. A wonderful selection of starters ideal for sharing, the sea bream was beautiful and the venison, which was fresh to their seasonal menu that day, was delicious!

Been more than 10 times now and love it. Fantastic wine selection- over 50 bottles just from Italy- and excellent homemade pasta- especially the maltagliati with mushroom. Antipasti is always of the highest quality. You can also pick up cheese/salumi and wine to take away....

Whenever I want to have a really relaxing time with friends or family I sit outside symposium for a spritz and some excellent Italian food. With a small staff they are delivering some high quality service, we're lucky to have this treat in the neighborhood....

We live in the neighbourhood and we have been to Symposium numerous times for lunch and dinner. Quality of food, drinks and service have always been excellent, we would definitely recommend this place (especially their lasagna)!
