Swan in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

I went to the Swan on Sunday & we were so disappointed with our roast dinner. The good parts, not many, were the Yorkshire puddings & nut roast were tasty. But that was it, the parsnips were nuked, roast potatoes soggy & only 1 & a half on the plate. Carrots were rock hard & far too many. As for the ball of stuffing, snooker ball comes to mind. I'm sure if you were to throw it on the wall it would not even break. It was pretty much disgusting & disgraceful that they would serve such a terrible meal. Must have been a cleaner who cooked our meal not the chef!!!!

Was about to ordered our food, 4 mins to the closing hours of lunch. Was refused. A lady in front of us was ordering her food , we were behind her. So, we decided to leave the pub. No stars awarded for appalling business.

Attended a function here and it was great. Service very slow unfortunately.

We had sea bass which was delicious on crushed potatoes and seaweed, also delicious, however the generous helping of crayfish was extremely tough and rubbery !! Inedible and quite unpleasant. Cheesecake dessert had chocolate/toffee nibs, had icecream with it - this was extremely sweet, couldnt eat it all, need fruit or less sugar in the biscuit base. The swann Inn was very noisy, people talking loud, and louder to hear themselves. Service was quite slow, long waits, no food checks during our visit apart from when paying. £55.50 quite expensive for this experience. Sorry cannot recommend, nor do we wish to visit again.

We had two meals from kitchen and one from Sunday cavery..... the kitchen meals where fine the cavery probably the worst I've had cold dry meat and poor choice of vegetables i had meat first in an effort to eat it whist warm! Service good beer excellent Sunday cavery awful.

Stayed at a hotel down the road & was recommended the swan for dinner. It's one of the last old pubs with a bar & lounge with a propper retro feel. The sirloin was perfectly cooked by the landlord & only £21 with every accompaniment known to man. The staff were very attentive & the locals were great company. One of the best pubs I've frequented in a long time.

We popped down to the swan for the first time despite moving to the area a few years ago and it was great. Really friendly staff, a good choice of menu and delicious food. We will definitely be returning! I usually take a photo for my reviews but I ate it before I remembered 😅😂

What a great pub, dog 🐕 friendly, lovely staff, very helpful bringing my drink to my table as I was alone and with my dog, and the food was lovely, I had the sausage and mash 👍.

The small bar is basically a mens bar, not many women go in there. Good food better if you sit in the lounge area where more women go. Staff are usually ok and the landlords friendly chap. Great summer beer garden. Be careful on the nearby road.

Really nice pub, well priced, x2 mains+X2 small drinks and a starter for 39£ is very good! It's very clean and traditional, loads of parking front & back, the lady who seemed to be running the whole place was really kind and helpful! The food was quite lovely, all seemed home made, the duck spring rolls and the chicken burger with chips was awesome just the portion sizes were so huge, my burger was a whole chicken breast! It was so big I couldn't pick it up without it falling all over my plate! My partners Fajita wraps were full of soggy veg unfortunately so half of it was unfortunately inedible which was a real shame as it looked lovely! I think small portions would be much better, waste saving and be much more enjoyable, the food looked and tasted lovely but I just couldn't enjoy it as it was spilling all over the table, shame because it's a fantastic pub and we will come back again! 4.5 stars

Stopped here tonight for something to eat. Very disappointed. I ordered Cumberland Sausage mixed veg and Chips. Please see photos. What sort of Chef sends out a meal like this. A badly burned Cumberland Sausage sat on the mixed veg ? Almost raw broccoli in a dish full of very watery gravy covered in onions. With a cup full of Chips. The Cook has been watching too much MasterChef. It was £16 & Rubbish...

Lovely pub. Was there on a cold day so didn't get to enjoy their large outdoor space but could tell it's a great spot in the summer

The Swan is a wonderful pub / restaurant. We came here after visiting the Sandringham Estate and found the entire trip to be delightful. The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. We highly recommend stopping by if you visit King's Lynn.

Ordered 4 meals, Special burgers arrived burger an chips, salad, onion rings and halloumi were missing. Ceaser sales was soking wet and limp as if it had been made hours before and was inedible, I ordered a medium/rare steak which was medium though the rest of the plate was good.

Haven't eaten there yet but will definitely be going back.

Been over Christmas for meal with family. Serves a good point of bitter, but lager tastes liike vomit and food not much better. Standard of pub Seriously in decine. Not that cheap. Better going to one of the restaurants in town.

Friendly staff, dogs welcomed, good beer and great food in a lovely building with a huge beer garden. Went with the family and our dog tonight and had a really nice time, we will definitely be going back.

Lovely country pub which I first visited on 6th January when I arranged to meet up with the family following the sad passing of our brother and where my brother's Wake was held yesterday as this was his local pub where he often met up with friends. Very inviting cosy environment which I have no doubt my husband and I will return to when we are in Kings Lynn.

Unfortunately had to down grade. Previously was best pie ever. Last time it was totally different. I'm guessing the chef has left.

Booked for approx 20 people. 12pm. Arrived 11.40 was shut. It opened at 12 on the dot .seated in the conservatory part to accommodate the group, very pleasant out there. Food arrived very quickly! (Pre ordered) and was very good, I had salmon which was not dry or overcooked at all. In fact was perfect. All seemed to enjoy their food..pleasantly surprised, will definitely go again

We went on the off chance with friends having not been before. The menu looked basic but WOW. What a surprise. The food was delicious, well presented and plenty of it. Good value for money. We will go back if we're in the area.

Our first visit to the Swan, we had a curry which was lovely. Very good service in Nice surroundings. We can recommend giving it a try.

Never in my life have I had to justify why a Toasted Cheese sandwich was inedible due to the cheese being overwhelming, to the point where it was thicker by double to the bread..it was greasy, salty and honestly one of the worst things I’ve ever had put in front of me. To add insult to injury, it wasn’t removed from the bill and I was told it was because I ate more than half..! All this despite the fact that there was a mound piled high of cheese left on the plate.. unfortunately I wasn’t alone and I wasn’t paying for it, had I not been trying to be impolite, I would have sent it back and walked out..

Good service. It was Burger Night, good value, well cooked variations.

A nice night in the garden, away from the throng of what was a very busy bar. Had the Roast Pork main, which was cooked to perfection. Later we sat inside. Some great traditional British Ales were available, as well as a huge variety of gins. Would recommend that you make a reservation if you wish to sit inside.

Went for lunch today with my parents as visiting the area to do some Christmas shopping. We hadn't booked but there was a table free for us. We had Plaice goujons, fries and rocket off the light bites menu, we all enjoyed it and felt it was a good sized portion. Staff friendly. Will definitely visit again when in the area and would recommend without any hesitation.

Our first visit and I hope it won't be our last. We called in for lunch which was delicious with reasonably sized portions.

We stopped off here for a pint and quick bite to eat before travelling home after holiday. It was so much better than expected. The service was 100% and the food was even better! The pork belly specifically was gorgeous. If we're in the area again we'll definitely be going back!

Nicknamed the mucky duck, Lovely little local pub right across from the duck pond, busy on Fridays and weekends good sized conservatory and a nice sized beer garden, got a good range of drinks and the quality of the food is good

We went for the first time tonight .We left after 5 minutes..The menus were dirty , the table was dirty and the service was terrible. Very disappointing.

Nice pub with character and plenty of space inside and outside. Let down by only having two "real" ales on the bar, mediocre beers that are available in most pubs in the area. The food (and the service) on the other hand was first class, couldn't fault it.

Excellent pub with plenty of outdoor seating and a large garden. The staff were smartly dressed and very helpful. They used latex gloves when serving the food. There are at least twenty tables outside and it possible to order via their app. The toilets are clean. I would come again.

Great meal, good service and very reasonable. Open for a Tuesday lunch when many places were not.

Lovely setting and lovely food. Staff need a bit more training as being asked 3 times if we wanted to pay the bill and then having drinks cleared before we had finished made us uncomfortable.

My rating would be far higher and is souly limited due to the current pandemic and limitations that this venue is working under however this is a lovely family friendly venue that has some exceptionally kind and friendly staff, I would easily recommend this venue for anyone who is looking for a calm relaxed vibe with great food and drinks available.

Was very well thought out. Social distancing and drinks at tables.

Stopped here for lunch and was very pleased we did. Service was good and from the menu I ordered the Plaice goujons with rocket, lime mayo and fries. I ordered from the lite menu but meal was still a good size, goujons were excellent full of plaice and along with the lime mayo and rocket Great combo. My wife also ordered from the lite menu and had the the Chicken, Brie & Cranberry sandwich with steak chips which she very much enjoyed but could not finish as chips were some of the biggest I've seen 😁 Drinks were coffee and coke with jug of water and the bill was just over £20. Would recommend the Swan to anyone even in these difficult times social distancing all in place as well as sanitised stations we felt very safe 👍
