Sushi4u in St Albans

So our order got given to someone else (or stolen) and the restaurant refused to accept fault. Told us to contact JustEat and that it was their problem now. No offer to replace the food, resolve the issue or anything, just an "oh well, not my problem". Clearly a bunch of frauds preying on the drunk and desperate and with no knowledge of how to run a business or deal with the public with any respect. As such, I am in no mood to show these people any respect in return. They have ruined the evening of hospitality staff with a rare Saturday night off by totally f*cking up our night-in together, leaving us scraping the bottom of the barrel at 10pm to find something that isn't a dodgy kebab. We tried to ring them back 35 minutes before the listed closing time without response. This screams shady business with something to hide. So let's not let them hide. They're the worst of the worst, the most uncaring and unsympathetic wastes of time and energy in the city. I would love for nothing more than them to go out of business tomorrow. Food sounded nice though, but I guess we'll never know 1/5*

Sushi 4 u never disappoints, I’ve been here numerous amounts of times and I’ve even brought my friends and family here. Amazing hot foods and sushi and the staff very friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Would always get Chicken Katsu Curry from this place for delivery but on this occasion I was really disappointed.

I have tried on three separate occasions to order from here...and got nothing each time. Don’t order on line or try to call them it’s not worth the time or effort since nothing happens

The sushi here is not prepare fresh to order. We ordered through Uber eats accidentally at 20:19. I called restaurant at 20:20 to say I didn’t mean to place the order as I hadn’t finished adding to it yet. They said the food was already ready so they couldn’t cancel it. Clearly NOT FRESH food if it’s ready in under one minute. It’s clearly been prepared ages ago just ready to go. Very disappointed as the sushi is not fresh. Old and stale. Poor service. Don’t order from here if you want fresh sushi.

Ive been here several times. The sushi is always fresh and delicious. They can at times be slow to answer the phone and a little slow. The dumplings are nice but sometimes a bit greasy. The chicken Katsura curry is definitely worth a try. Good value.

Let down by lateness of delivery no apology and had too go and retrieve from driver as he refused too deliver to the door and no apology for being late 50 mins

Really bad delivery, late again

Food was ok, the hot stuff was at least hot but the delivery took forever..

If you have MiSO soup, ask them to be careful, what happened to my meal is that the soup spilled all over the meal and left no soup! that’s really bad and unorganised. food was late as well and ITS NOT HOT NOR WARM when it arrives

The delivery man keep shouting at me when I couldn't found the "taxi point". I am a new international student and I put my accommodation address. However, I don't know where to collect the food(taxi point), then the delivery man scolded me & my friend STUPID and said if we don't find him within 5 minutes then he will go away and I already paid for my food!

food was absolutely spot on, just a bit of a wait is all, but I am a distance away so not grumbling too much. will use again

Food was in a bad state, vegetables were foul, packaging on one of the orders were broken and leaked all over the floor upon opening. One had a larger portion serving while the other felt like something was missing? over all just a disappointing meal

every single time I order from sushi4u it always tastes amazing, love the tracker so I know when to open the front door, polite delivery driver, my favourite starter is chicken gyoza & will always get it. 10/10

my other half and I ordered together this time, chicken Katsu bento was not as expected. we thought the chicken would be in a sauce since it comes with rice? it was basically Kentucky fried chicken but really dry with a dipping sauce and some rice. the sushi in the box was not as expected but still nice. won’t choose again. the chicken gyoza never fails me, always yummy! and I stuck to my new fave of wok chicken soba new fave takeaway place

everything was delicious, loved the quantity of calamari, the batter it was in was sooo good but it wasn’t crispy enough and there were massive chunks of red chilli flakes in it which caught me off guard and I couldn’t chew. also the calamari was slightly over cooked and on the boarder to being rubbery. so maybe the batter was not crispy because of the steam. chicken gyoza is always amazing & if it does come slightly under warm it’s super easy to heat them up without affecting the taste. the wok chicken soba is my new fave!

just be careful to control temperatures of the food, the sushi shouldn’t be kept with the warm things. but yummy overall

the duck spring rolls has lovely flavour but very little duck inside. I was expected one big roll cut into 4 pieces and meaty but was disappointed. however the sweet and sour chicken was soooo good & even better reheated the next day. chicken gyoza is my fave! yum! friendly driver & love the tracker

Food arrived late. Driver did not have change to hand despite indicating that I was paying cash. Rice has dried out somewhat. Not a fan of polystyrene packaging. Food otherwise tasted good.

Great food, in fact amazing food for a takeaway! Slow delivery, added an extra 10 mins then I had to call up 15 mins later then they added another 20 mins so obviously forgot. Wasn’t offered any compensation (extra drink or something) and only had a note so had to tip the guy. disappointed as I love the food.

We ordered some sushi and duck spring rolls. The food was great, good quality. We would repeat for sure. The delivery was 15 minutes later but they sent us a message to notify it so not a big issue.

the fish was not fresh and it smelled weird. the tuna was brown!

The food was messy, the sauces where spilled all over the bag. It looked like the bag was shaken before delivery

food was over an hour late, and arrived soggy and cold. was not worth the wait, food was fine at best. staff were incredibly rude and would not compensate me for the ruined, late food. will never order from them again, suggest you go elsewhere with your money! utter waste of money and time.

Fantastic sushi, clearly freshly made with lovely fresh ingredients - chicken katsu sauce absolutely to die for, as were the California rolls. Would definitely order again!

The best I have eaten by far. My husband and I had the chicken and beef wok fried rice. Thoroughly enjoyed our hot and fresh meals. The beef was a little tough but otherwise very good flavour in the rice . Will order again for sure !!!

I called about my delivery twice and was told it had already left which was clearly untrue. i wouldn't have minded if they told me it was going to be late. The food was very good but I'm not sure I would order again due to unreliable delivery.

food is always good from here but delivery is always late. last time i ordered it was half an hour late and i could do nothing but wait as when i called, they informed me the driver is close to hatfield. would love to order a lot more often but 1h and 30 mins (potentially) wait is too long for me

I always order from this restaurant.freshly made and tasty,quick and courteous delivery.I do not see the point in ordering oriental food anywhere else in hertfordshire,especially if you appreciate a healthy takeaway as opposed to what we used to order before these guys came along.

There were a few bones in the salmon (it was a long sharp one) and mackerel sashimi. Delivery was delivered 45 mins later than the expected time they put out (almost 1.5 hrs after confirming delivery time). Restaurant asked us to wait for 10 mins after it was already 15 mins late and ended up being muh later than that. Would not recommend.

1st time ordered, piping hot, fresh, food very good. Would surely order again.

Great food, got the order correct and no messy delivery. was estimated for 9:05pm, but got it at 9:20pm but we did order a lot of sushi late on a saturday so I understand. wonderful take away otherwise :)

Always forget the drinks. They always say they will refund the money but never do.

Nice sushi overall, but delivered late and the calamari was cold by the time it got to the plate. Good quality ingredients apart from wasabi, very fresh salmon, and all freshly cooked.

Pre-ordered food and it was still almost half an hour late, provided only one soy sauce and one pair of chopsticks. Usually service is great just lacked today and I am very disappointed.

Waited over 2 hours for the food to arrive. When it did, driver left behind items and had to keep going back and forth. Called restaurant and they were not helpful! To top it off, chicken was found in a vegetarian meal. Very poor service. Disappointed with them.

The sushi didn’t taste fresh at all, I eat sushi daily but this was one of the poorest quality of sushi I have ate.

The food was around 30 mins late than the said time but I didn't mind too much. The chicken katsu curry was great! I do have three small comments though, the carrots were cut very large, I would have preferred it if they were cut smaller and left to stew in the curry so they were softer, the potatoes had a strange slight taste of cornstarch which was weird and the chicken was somewhat overcooked but nothing too bad overall I did love it though. The squid calamari was super, a bit spicier than expected but nothing I couldnt handle. The Prawn tempura roll was cut somewhat awkwardly but I liked it nevertheless, and the sweet and sour pork bento, the pork was sliiightly overcooked but it was amazing still. I do recommend this place.

Food ordered at 18:50 and didn’t arrive until 20:30. When we called they just said they was busy. very long wait but food was delicious

restaurant added 10 mins extra to delivery time, but it was 15 mins late, so 25 all together. everything was cold. Shame as love the quality of that place. phoned them, they apologised and promised a complimentary dish next time I order.

There was NO tomato and NO dressing on my Seaweed Tofu salad :(

Every delivery I’ve had has always been late.

Bits of our order were great - the spring rolls, gyoza and edamame were all large portions and delicious. The sushi too was very good as you would expect. However, my wife had the chicken udon and judged the chicken as inedible so had to pick it out. A shame really given everything else.

Got a text saying delivery would be late when it was already 20 minutes late. Delivery driver sat in the front of his car until I got to the taxi rank, then spent five minutes rummaging around in the back trying to find my order.

Food quality was pretty good. The "salad" had nice anount of fish which was great value and the gyoza came with salad to balance it out. Noodles were quite greasy but that's expected coming from a takeaway. The worst thing was the fact that it came 45 mins late without any warning.

Delivery is always late but today it crossed the limits because restaurant specified my address wrong to the driver. If the customer and driver were not patient and tolerating it would have ended up badly. At the end, my order was delayed for one hour and ruined my plans which I made based on the delivery time of my food that I specified when ordering.

Food is always fresh and good.Im usually very understanding with the delayings, but this time the driver mistaken my adress. No problem till then, until when he called he starting yelling for he was lost, at another adress. Arriving here, he didnt apologies, also yelling. Thank you, dear driver, for making thing better

I've requested for udon noodles 🍜 to be spicy with minimal oyster sauce for my preference; they have kindly followed and turned out to be the most delicious noodle dish I've had in years. Thanks sushi4u.

Awful service. Fish didn’t taste fresh. Order was over an hour late however on the app it said it had been delivered. Caller was busy when tried ringing multiple times, won’t be ordering from here again.
