The food itself was okay. The ramen wasn't salty and the sashimi was good without any smell. The interior looked more like a comprehensive Asian restaurant than a Japanese restaurant to an Asian. The panda logo itself reminded me of China, and the elephants everywhere reminded me of Thailand. Above all, after we finished eating and paying, we were greeted in Chinese by saying “Xie Xie,” but we are not Chinese. It's a Japanese restaurant, so I'd understand if you spoke in Japanese, but it doesn't feel right. Not all Asians are Chinese.

As a sushi lover, I have to say this was a great cuisine. You order on a tablet (super easy to use), can have lots of meal courses and the food is outstanding. The decorations, the lighting and the attention to detail is so cool. Also it’s at a set price, and you can eat loads. Children under a certain age get discounts. The only thing I would say is that the speed which they deliver could improve, but 4 stars, would recommend!

Some food we didn’t get even after enquiring about it numerous times not a good birthday dinner. Food was good though when it eventually came.

Hands down the best Japanese restaurant in Manchester. The All You Can Eat offer is amazing value when you consider all of the dishes available. Everything was fresh and flavourful, not a single bad dish in the bunch!

Food was mainly great but even better service! Russell definitely took care of us even recommended dishes for us to try! Couldn't ask for better server ! Few down sides are charged full price for a 10 yr old when menu says ages 5-10 are cheaper definitely a different price point meal when charged full price for a child. Few of the main dishes didn't have much flavour mainly the pork ramen was very bland extremely disappointed in it.

A Must-Visit Spot in Manchester! We had an incredible dining experience at Sushi Mami in Manchester! The menu offered an excellent variety of sushi, sashimi, and Japanese fusion dishes. Booked buy 1 take 1 offer from the buy 1 get 1 link in the website for a family of 4. Got told on the day as we sat on our table that I did not book for the promotion and the waiter was quite rude in his way of telling me. Checked my email confirmation and found out that there is a small print note to make a booking again if booking for the promotion. Very intentionally misleading I believe as I had initially already booked through the link titled buy 1 get 1. Paid £160 instead of £80. Food quality was average but orders in between took a very long time to come so me and my family did not enjoy the experience at all. Could have easily offered something as a gesture of goodwill rather than rudeness. We will never go back again as it is not worth it at all!

We were asked if we had been before and said we had not. The person who seated us explained that we could choose the buffet option or the a al carte option and would be back for our decision. They did not return. We both went to the toilet in the meantime. Both ladies and gents toilets were in a very sorry state. In the ladies one toilet seat was off its hinge, the bin for hand towels was overflowing, the soap dispenser was empty and the entire bathroom was in general in poor condition. I noticed hand sanitiser on the host desk upon our arrival so went to use that after returning from the bathroom and found a member of staff to let them know that both toilets were in need of attention - definitely soap - and that we would like to order. A lovely lady attended to us. We chose the buffet option and were swiftly brought a tablet to order our food from as well as wasabi and pickled sides. Our drinks came pretty much immediately though the food took forever. I understand in places like that it comes as it is prepared however there was an issue with staffing (we overheard a table beside us ask a server about the wait times an hour in to our visit and they were told there were just two people down in the kitchen). Our chicken dish and when the edamame eventually came they were lukewarm when they got to us. We chose not to tell anyone as chances were the next batches would be similar given the lack of staff and we were so hungry we just wolfed the chicken down. I suspect perhaps there was a shortage of servers also because I could see a hot plate from my seat and every few minutes it was full to the brim with dishes the chefs at the back of the restaurant had prepared on the grill. Those dishes remained on the grill for over 10 mins on one occasion. The restaurant itself was unkempt. The floor right beside and behind our table right at the grill had not been swept. There were receipts, used serviettes, food etc all over the floor. We were in the restaurant for about 1.5 hours and that mess was there the whole time. I was served frozen tiramisu. We visited the toilets again before we left and both had handsoap but the ladies was still in poor condition. The bin was overflowing and two of the stalls had no toilet paper. Again, this may have been due to lack of staff. The bill came swiftly however after asking for a card machine we were forgotton about Sony partner needed to go find somebody. Overall I would not recommend this place. For the price the food was mediocre and the atmosphere was dire. There are far better places to go. Sakura buffet, a short journey out in Cheetham Hill, for example, is wonderful.

We had the all you can eat buffet and the food was really good. Definitely a place to visit for anyone looking for good food at a reasonable price. The tuna mayo sushi and miso soup were my favourites. The atmosphere was good but the staff was the best part about it, the host was really friendly and helpful. And there was a specific waiter who went above and beyond with the food recommendations and delivered an absolutely outstanding service (such a shame I didn’t get their names). Definitely recommended 10/10

I was very poorly treated by Lucie as soon as I arrived at the restaurant. Her attitude was rude and unwelcoming — I honestly felt like leaving right away and never coming back. I went with a friend for a casual night out. I understand the place was busy, but telling us to “try booking online” felt disrespectful. While we struggled with the website, we heard another staff member taking a booking over the phone. So, if I call, I get a table, but if I show up, I don’t? After I complained, suddenly they found a table for us. Lucie didn’t explain anything about the menu even though it was our first time there. She was cold and dismissive. Our first dish took 40 minutes to arrive. Larissa was the only good part of the night. She was kind, helpful, checked on our table often, and even apologized for the delay. She explained the menu and the promos clearly — a total contrast to the cold reception we got at the door. The food was good, but I’m only thinking about coming back because of Larissa. If my experience had depended only on Lucie, I’d never return.

I went for lunch during a buy one get one free promotion. I saw the review had a score of 4.7, so the quality should be good. However, I was disappointed. It's better to go for the freshness. The sashimi was cut as thin as paper, and you can only order 10 items at a time. One piece of sushi counts as one item. The food was slow to be served, taking 15-20 minutes. On the last round, we waited for a full 40 minutes for 3 items to be served, and finally waited for more than 50 minutes and still nothing was served. I paid the bill and left. There won't be a next time.

Following the reviews I came here for the first time but it was disappointing. The all you can eat menu was very small, the sashimi so tiny in pcs, they only allow 5 dishes every 8 min, some dishes are just 1 pc. Quality of the food was okay, but whoever rates high probably never tried good quality sushi all you can eat. Staff was nice but overall not recommended. I usually go to the tsuki in Sheffield, have a look at the variety of their all you can menu, this is absolutely tiny with not much options.

Disappointing Experience – Don’t Trust the High Ratings I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt I had to this time so others don’t end up having their evening ruined like we did. We came expecting a decent meal, but it turned out to be a very poor experience. We started by ordering 10 different items at a time, yet kept receiving the same dishes repeatedly. It honestly felt like we’d walked into a comedy sketch—completely disorganised, and with no sign of any proper management. At one point, we stood around for ten minutes just trying to find someone who could let us pay. We then discovered they have a “spin the wheel” game, but you’re only allowed to participate if you leave a positive review. That explains the inflated ratings, but not the poor food or service. If you’re in the mood for surimi, canned tuna, and the saddest noodles I’ve ever eaten, then this might be the place for you. Otherwise, I’d recommend going elsewhere. We left disappointed, still hungry, and with the feeling we’d been misled. Good job Jonah

The best place for a drink in Withington. Lovely atmosphere, beautifully restored building and good selection of local beers and homemade pizza. The staff are really friendly and would be great for any group events or parties.
