Surfside Cafe in Conwy

Where do I start? I cannot recommend this place enough! Firstly what lovely lovely staff! We found out about this little gem on the second day of our holiday and headed down, we have been made to feel that welcome we have ‘popped in’ each day since! Honestly what lovely people not only Janet and Chris are but also all the people in there. Big shout out to Jan who made us all smile on the bingo too. The food!!! We highly recommend the tuna toastie it’s soooo tasty! And the value for money is definitely the best in the area! A massive thank you for making some super special memories for our big birthday bash this week what better way to spend it than playing prize bingo with new friends! All the customers in there took my hyper behaviour in their stride and both Janet and Chris embraced it! We cannot wait to come back over the next few months thank you again xx

Came to abergele for a day trip and came across this lovely place. Had an all day breakfast and a coffe. Very wholesome meal and tasty to boot. Full compliments to the chef. Staff very friendly.

Wow great food simple curry and chips so delicious followed by a Halloween ice cream tray with Kirk at grave stones with ores sprinkled Earth and green sherbet super tasty. All the staff dressed up and trick or tear bingo great atmosphere

We will never visit again. Very rude and not welcoming at all. It was not a place that we had visited before but did expect to at least stay for a drink. It's not for us.

This is an amazing hidden gem, tucked away off the main road, over the railway...there is this super duper amusing, bingo and food emporium. I called in for 10 minutes bingo, but ended up staying for food. All food cooked fresh and to order, so if you don’t fancy mushrooms on your cooked breakfast, just ask. The whipped ice cream trays wow they are huge and well worth the money...not really suitable for dieters, but a great treat. Bingo massive selection of prizes and all for 20p a go, not to mention the 2p falls so great for holiday makers on a budget. The staff can’t do enough for you, proper family run business, all helpful, all friendly and all welcoming...would recommend

Took the family to the surfside cafe for lunch yesterday 21st August, a gorgeous sunny day , we sat in the undercover pagoda ,our grandson loved runny about an playing in the stones , we had lovely food , my partner had a problem with a burger sauce which a lovely young lady with blonde hair and glasses soon rectified , nothing was too much trouble for this very worthwhile member of staff , she was lovely with our grandchildren too , she was running here there and everywhere, would recommend a visit,you won't be disappointed 😀

Went into the surf side cafe while on holiday this last two weeks in wales and meet the loveliest staff going especially Jeanette who greeted us warmly and my daughter seen this stitch teddy which she wanted to win and Jeanette was so lovely and kept it to one side so my daughter could gather enough wins and points to get the stitch teddy which is a highlight of our holiday as she’s made my daughters day

This little place is packed with it all, fun, character, nostalgia, excitement and a lot of good times! The staff are always very kind and the owners are very welcoming and make you feel like your visiting family. My kids love playing golf then the 2p machines and bingo but most of all they love getting the prizes! The food is some of the best I’ve had and all very reasonably priced and good portions. I definitely recommend this place as a all rounder for any family and a trip out!

We come here quite a bit over the season, and on our first trip of the summer holiday we had a great experience that I wanted to rave about! We always come as our whole family, two adults, two kids, and we play a combination of one adult and one child playing the bingo, one adult and one child playing the 2p machines. This time was no different. We had a great run on both, winning lots of tickets and games of bingo, and successfully won ourselves one of the top ticket prizes - a pair of drones, perfect for two children who equally won lots of the "wins" needed to get the prize. On top of that, the staff made us feel especially welcome - Jeanette let my son (who's bingo crazy) call one of the games (with supervision) and Georgia let my daughter take the prizes to the people who won their bingo games. Every time we come back, it's like coming to see family! We make sure it's the first and last thing we do when we come in to Towyn.

After almost 6 months of near total lockdown it's great to be able to visit Surfside once again, boy have we missed you all. Despite only having the takeaway open it's good to see people we regard as friends. Yesterday had my 1st breakfast cooked by Matty, who's standard of cooking is always outstanding. Lovely little cafe with amusements and crazy golf. We had literally THE biggest ice cream cone ever- will definitely be back

Having used this cafe before yesterday I was left very disappointed and concerned. No social distancing put in placeStaff not wearing any protection in a crowded kitchenStaff going on cigarette breaks in front of customers45 minute wait for 2 cups of tea, chips with curry’s sauce and chips with cheese which ended up beings fries not chipsNo apology for the delay and no reason why, no reason why fries were given and not chips

Great way to spend an hour or 2. We’ve eaten here a few times and always been nice. Always had the big breakfast and rarely been able to finish. Staff always friendly and plenty to do.

Yipee Surfside's open again after the Christmas break, it's good to see the guys again, this place keeps getting better really enjoyed my lunch today, good quality food cooked well. We always enjoy our time there & a couple of wins on the bingo rounded off the visit. Keep up the good work hope you have a great season xxx

I used to enjoy taking my children here after a stroll along the beach for a bite to eat and a play in the arcade, until my last visit....Sat down with my children for a light bite after our walk, and to my horror, an old couple on the next table started vaping! People think it’s safe but it’s not, only now people are starting to question it after 500 plus related lung and pneumonia cases have been linked to vaping also 7 people have died in the last few weeks because of vaping yet they are happy for these ignorant people to fill the air with toxic fumes that innocent children are playing/eating in! People who come to eat inside a cafe come to do so without eating in a cloud of smoke and fumes! A member of staff walked by and didn’t say anything, I got my stuff together as there was no way we were staying, I asked for the manager, only a duty manager was on (a kid) when I told him that it’s an absolute disgrace that they allow people to vape in a place where children eat and play, he said agreed he also thinks it’s wrong but his manager has said it’s ok so there’s nothing he can do! Whoever that manager is, you are a DISGRACE! Allowing that, especially when you have more seating outside than you do inside is ridiculous! We will NEVER be back!

I've eaten many times at Surfside Arcade & I've found the food cooked to a high standard & top quality ingredients & freshly cooked. There are some places in the area where the quality leaves a lot to be desired you definitely can't say this of Surfside. Guys don't let bad reviews get you down, keep up the good work looking forward to seeing you all soon. Kev & Anth, xxxx

We just live 10 minutes walk from surfside.We go there every weekend for coffee and lunch. During the cricket season we get a job lot of ice lollies to take over to the cricket team.Excellent service and great food.Nothing is to much trouble for the staff.Thanks Janette Mathew and Ryan and the girls xxx

Since finding this lovely place I am a regular I love it I take my dog for a lovely walk on the coastal path and regularly call in for a BLT or a delicious breakfast, they always have freshwater in the bowl for the dog and nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff, they make us all feel so welcome each and every time My daughter loves this lovely Arcade there is so much for everyone to do and so much fun

best bingo in wales, lovely food too, staff are really friendly and helpful, its that good my family and i travel over an hour each way just to visit this place . i have been going for 50 years and now i take my grandaughter, i must say its even better since jeanette took over

This seaside cafe and amusement arcade on the Promenade at Pensarn Abergele is an absolute gem. A great cafe, crazy golf and traditional counter style bingo. The staff and owners are fun and friendly so if it's a tradition seaside atmosphere and family fun your looking for pop along to Surfside, have a brew and a game of crazy golf or bingo and enjoy everything Surfside and Pensarn have to offer. Oh and there is plenty of free parking on our Promenade.

Visited for our tea and it was lovely as usual, the jacket potatoe with tuna and salad is by far my favourite! We live in Wrexham and visit at least twice a month it's well worth it.great staff who are friendly and look after their regulars.

Always a true warm genuine welcome, we both live locally and have enjoyed calling in for a simple coffee or occasional a light meal, and always enjoyed the atmosphere and family way about the place, we both most sincerely would recommend a visit

Living locally we often call in after walking our dog Merlyn, sometimes just a drink other times something to eat, whatever we have, it is always excellent. The staff are friendly and we know them all, and we often have abit of banter with Ryan, Mattie, Georgia, Mellisa and Charlotte. We were proud to support their recent Macmillan coffee morning, it is a charity that means alot to us. The only downside is that in November they close for the winter, where shall we go?

We have visited Surfside a number of times since buying our own static caravan. We've always found the staff there polite and attentive. The cafe prices are very reasonable and they operate an efficient queuing system when ordering food, even in the height of summer the wait is never too long. We recommend the doughnuts and ice cream, my little one loved it! we worked off the calories with a game of crazy golf. You can entertain yourselves with a game of bingo or a go on the slot machines with good prizes on offer. Surfside is in a lovely location in Pensarn with ample free parking and literally on the beach. All in all it's a lovely place to spend a couple of hours, it truly is a little gem!!

I called in there last Wednesday for a breakfast from then on things went downhill fast,I was told there was a wait because all food was cooked to order,I said no problem.after nearly 30 min my "beakfast"arrived ,the beans were a very dark colour the tomatoes had the taste that they'd been cooking for ages the hash browns were totally inedible,the bacon was not in rashers but in little bits that were really crisp and burnt,I was also charged 60p for a slice of toast it was made with the cheapest bread you can buy.I noticed when I was leaving a large catering pack of bacon defrosting in a bowl of water.that can't be right

Myself and my family have been visiting Surfside for over 30 years and we absolutely love it! The holiday wouldn’t be the same without visiting here every night. The new owners have done a fabulous job of sprucing up both the bingo and the cafe but it still has the same lovely feel especially the bingo. It brings back memories of saving up all the winnings on the bingo and spending them on fabulous prizes and now my children look forward to doing the same each year. The food is lovely and at a very reasonable price. ALL staff have been friendly and very hard working. I look forward to going back shortly :)

Good Arcade with amazing cafe! Large games of bingo circle the room for only 20p a game! Campsite tried to charge us £14 for a game :(! Came here instead and had a great time and spoke to the very friendly staff! They helped us play bingo and taught us how to do it. The whole place has a great energy to it and we are all very pleased that we went. We were there on a staycation but considering driving up for a day this Summer just to come back to this place! Food was very very good! We ordered cheesy chips and a burger and I was very amazed! Everyone PLEASE visit Surfside!

We’ve gone here for years as we have a caravan nearby. It’s like stepping back in time when you go in the arcade, it’s only small and has the flick over bingo boards around the perimeter. There’s also a cafe which does a nice selection of food and drinks. It’s a lovely place with a great atmosphere and a family feeling. My children, niece and nephew just love it here and insist we visit at least once a day when we’re there. The staff are lovely and friendly and you’re always made to feel welcome.

Fantastic day and evening for all the family, staff are amazing and very friendly. We have spent many times having a lovely meal, then to have games of bingo with plenty of enjoyment. We dropped on this little amusement arcade by accident last week, we were staying locally in towyn and came for a drive out. It’s a lovely little arcade with lots of fun machines and 2p machines too.

I first found the surfside cafe after id been overcharged for a sandwich at another local cafe nearby after travelling down from manchester.

Love coming to this arcade! Me and 7 grand children are always made to feel welcome! Love the 2p pushers with the kids whilst the older kids play the bingo with Georgia and Ryan giving them a hand. We then end our trip with a hotdog and ice creams! Chloe’s eyes are bigger than her belly!

I work in the area and use here most days, it is very friendly and clean, the staff are willing to help, food very good, fast service, good Vale for money.

Ignore the last review, we had a fantastic breakfast £10 for two enormous breakfasts and a decent cuppa in large mugs, dogs welcome outside too. Friendly staff, couldn’t ask for better

We always get a wonderful welcome from the very friendly staff whenever we go. Both adults and kids love it. Really tasty food at great prices. I must recommend the breakfast oh and the doughnuts.

I have visited here most weekends, and the food is cheap and outstanding, the burgers are to die for, not full of grease, but really tasty and also the breakfast is outstanding, everything is so fresh and tasty and you can only smell the goodness from the food and the cafe and staff are so welcoming, the cleanliness is outstanding, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone, thank you for outstanding service.

went for breakfast before going fishing me and my mate had two breakfast subs at £3.50 each very good value very filling made a good cup of tea to went back again after a good day with plenty of fish on the day had fish chips and peas £4.50 for two yes £4.50 for two mon-tues and wends what great value and big portions to will be going back there again when we are in the area hope you stay open all winter

We called here last week for breakfast & can I just say it was the best I've ever tasted new owners are absolutely fantastic, so welcoming cannot do enough for you. I will be going back next week when on holiday & I just can't wait. This place does the best milky coffee ever! And it caters for takeaway drinks where as the little Shacks by the beach only do coffee in a mug.

Visited with my 4 children and my husband I used to come to this arcade when I was a child and loved the atmosphere and now I'm bringing my children here the lady that now owns it is all about making memories for your family like she had when she was a child the staff are lovely and the food was beautiful very fresh and very tasty

The young lady who served us was very helpfull and polite, Altogether we had 2 burgers a breakfast which I must say is Exellent value and a children's meal and 4 drinks came to I think around £15..The arcade it's self was nice and clean.. Definitely recommend to all
