Sur Kitchen in Barnet

Still closed after 10 months.Sign says closed for renovation but no sign of life at all there.

We came for Sunday lunch and we enjoyed a delicious meal.

Petya and Hash could not have been more hospitable - felt 100% welcome as a guest at a friend’s birthday party. My #foodallergies were not an issue, even though it always adds pressure on the kitchen. Thank you so much. We will be back!

This restaurant is very underated. The food is excellent and great value for money. My husband and I just had the 2 course lunch for £9.95. Massive portions of fresh, well cooked food. So tasty.

My friend and I had such a lovely time here on a Friday night. Our cocktails were very nice as was the food. However the best bit was the service! The team were the perfect mix of relaxed and attentive which suited us perfectly as we took quite a while to order our food. We were given a seat by the window which was perfect as it was a warm night. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a chilled place to eat and catch up with friends. I wish more people knew about it as the restaurant wasn’t full and that would have helped with the atmosphere.

Excellent Turkish restaurant. Cold meze to start was super, lovely bread and 5 dips, plenty for 2 people, I imagine their 4 person platter (more of the same) would be even better value for money. Mains were a chicken casserole and lamb yogurtlu. Both delicious, especially the lamb, well presented and very fresh, even the salad was fresh and tasty (usually a side thought). Very nice staff Highly recommend

I ordered Calamari last night and believe me when I say it was amazing .It was cooked to perfection, I would recommend this dish to anyone, great service and a beautiful restaurant.

I've visited Sur kitchen a few times with my husband. Lovely food, beautiful atmosphere and everyone there is friendly and attentive. Petra is lovely.

Thought we would try again even though previous visits were disappointing, so was this one. Place always seems empty, 3 or 4 other tables had diners, 80% empty. The waiter/server was ok but he went out front a couple of times to smoke, we were half way down the restaurant and the cigarette smoke was wafting across us. I suppose luckily no outside diners that smoked were there that night but that alone means we probably won't go back. The food was ok, very salty meat and compared with similar restaurants more expensive and smaller portions.

Had the lunch menu ( 2 courses). Very reasonable price and good food.

This is a very bad Turkish restaurant. Do not believe many positive comments, because the food does not taste good at all. The service is OK, but we could not even finish our plates. We should have realized this when the place was completely empty during dinner times.

Food delicious, service appalling. 8 of us attended for dinner this evening. Some of us requested the bottomless Prosecco option which is clearly advertised on 2 posters at the front of the restaurant. The waiter who was working there Friday 19th May between 8-11pm with dark hair argued that this was not an option, we questioned why it was on the poster. He tried to swerve it and claimed the manager was ‘in court’ so could not ask him. He went outside 3 times to slowly read the poster and he then had no choice but to reluctantly agree to us having this option, he took 30mins to provide any drinks for the table and seemed furious with us throughout the evening. Unhelpful and sarcastic. The bill came detailing £280 of ‘misc items’, we questioned this and requested an itemised bill to which he laughed and said ‘what you want it listed one by one?’ We said yes, this is usually the case with a food bill. It then took him 20mins of faffing around with the computer for us then to assist him with what we had ordered for the final bill to come in at £30 cheaper. No apology just more sarcasm. The food is delicious but this man’s awful service has lost 8 customers from returning and resulted in 8 negative word of mouth feedback. Hope you’re pleased with yourself!

A place to go to escape from daily routine. All the staff and the owner will treat you like a family. Amazing thanks ... my boy ( 9 year old) will go there and behave like is at home . For me grilled seabass is like taking a D vitamin... we have made friends with another clients .... The restaurant has become our escape from home kitchen. Big Love from Zane and Leo

Came here with my husband for an early dinner on Easter Sunday and it was so delicious! I ordered a Mixed Shish and my husband ordered Yogurtlu Adana. Both were excellent and tasted so fresh. The measure of a great restaurant to me is how they cook chicken breast and this place didn’t disappoint! The Chicken Shish was so juicy and tasty. A few Turkish restaurants I have frequented in London have rather dry Chicken Shish but Sur Kitchen’s was top notch! 👌🏽 I highly recommend it and love supporting local businesses in the Barnet community. The husband and I will definitely be back for more dinners and takeaways!

Food is fantastic - I’ve driven past this restaurant a couple of times and glad I did. I was surprised how good the food was. I had the Yogurtlu Adana, (Adana kebab on bread and yogurt) and my wife had the mixed sis both were delicious and filling. Highly recommended.

All the reviews are not wrong! The best Turkish food I have eaten in a very long time! Other places over spice everything but not here it's a perfect mix of ingredients and let's you taste the meat and vegetables... I ate so much but did not feel the slightest bit of bloatedness that I normally have after a heavy meal.. and the lovely waitress was wonderful and so attentive.. excellent customer service by farctge best service on the whole of North London! The prices are really very affordable. Soon the breakfast service will begin.Absolutely we’ll come for breakfast as well.

Popped in for lunch never having been before. The food is excellent & the bread accompanying the meal was lovely & hot, plus really tasty. The value for money is excellent too, our meals came to less than £30. They don't include service charge, so was happy to leave a generous tip!

We love Sur, we often come for their lunch deal (smaller sizes of their a la carte menu). We've also been for dinner - their portions are generous and we were all happily stuffed. Overall great food and friendly service. It's a brilliant high street restaurant.

I booked the restaurant for Saturday lunch for my sons birthday. I've been wanting to go for a while now. We went for the lunch time specials which is usually hard to find on a weekend. The prices seemed very reasonable especially with prices going up everywhere. It was £8.95 for one course and £9.95 for 2 courses. The lunch time menu had a good selection and good vegetarian options. They informed us that the lunch time portions were slightly smaller then the standard menu. I ordered the babaganoush for starters and Anada kebab for mains. The starter was a good portion and they gave bread, taziki and chilli sauce with the starters. They kept topping up the bread too which was nice. The main course was tasty which came with rice and a salad. All my family were happy with their choice of starter and main course. All the food was made in house and fresh. My son really liked the calamari that we ordered. The restaurant were very accommodating for my sons birthday. We brought our own cake which they gave us plates and brought the cake out with a birthday song. The service was really good the waitress was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant looked lovely, it's right next to oak hill park so great to walk off the food after. There is a free car park just round the back of the restaurant. It a bit of a local gem and we will be back soon. They had another offer with 2 courses and unlimited proccecco for 2 hours which looked good too.

everything was amazing, the food was very tasty, the appetizers and salads came freshly. We enjoyed a great kebab. I would like to thank the whole team, and of course thanks to the big boss ☺️

5/5 ! Fabulous and a value menu too. Highly recommend. The décor is beautiful. The service was impeccable. We went for the 2 courses for £9.95. I had the Baba Ghanoush to start. It was lovely and super smoky. I then had falafel for main. I find it hard to find a goof falafel, however this place did it very well indeed!!!! Probably one of the best Falafels I've had in UK. My son had the lamb kebab which he really liked. Other people from our group had the moussaka and rated it highly. We ordered some extra plates of calamari too which again were very good. They also had an excellent wine selection too. .

Came for lunch but was disappointed that neither the chicken beyti or Adana was available as the chefs were still preparing it (we arrived at 1pm for lunch an hour after they supposedly opened for lunch) so we had to have the lamb and chicken kebab instead. It was nice but not what we came for or wanted. Falafel wasn’t firm either and was still mushy and they had only 1 waiter on who was run off his feet.

This afternoon ( Friday, 21st October 2.30pm) my husband and I went to the Sur Kitchen, Turkish Restaurant in East Barnet for the first time for some lunch. As soon as we entered, we were greeted as though the person knew us and made us feel like part of the family! I then found out that the person who greeted was actually Mr Abdullah, the proprietor! We were shown to our table, and then greeted with a lovely smile by Umeed, who took our drinks orders gave us two menus, a set lunch and a la carte! We chose the afternoon lunch set menu, I could not believe my eyes!!! Excellent value for money, without any compromise on the quality and quantity of the food served!. We had plenty of time to relax and have lunch, after a very productive hard working week. However we were given complimentary starters because the management though our order took longer then usual, but honestly we did not think so nor did we realise, the time, as the ambience was so relaxing and also the customers who were sitting next to us were chilled and we started talking and exchanged numbers!! A great place for networking as we managed to get two potential clients as we deal in finance, both clients were looking to remortgage their properties! I counted ten main course choices on the afternoon set lunch a mere £9.95 for TWO courses! I have promised myself that I have to make NINE more lunch visits so I can saviour the rest of the nine main course choices!!! I had babagounush as my starter, my husband chose halloumi, I had grilled sea bass fillet for my main course and my husband chose chicken shish. All the food we ate was fresh, superb quality and absolutely delicious!!! It was far too much as the portions were generous, we did not have room for deserts, which is a shame as they have lovely varieties! We finished with complimentary Turkish chai (tea) and we are definitely going back soon for lunch and also so for evening dinner as the choice of meals is just too many! This is a truly special restaurant and has greatly improved in decor since their recent renovations. The staff are beyond friendly (is it possible to have 6 stars?) and go above and beyond to make you have a fun evening. The food is wonderful, so don't restate to visit!

It was amazing night in a very posh decorated restaurant, value for money compared to other restaurant it’s cheap, the service is amazing with the lovely staff. I will highly recommend. (definitely value for money). I will also like to mention that the price that I said includes soft drink, starter main course and dessert.

The food was very delicious I loved it. The perfomance of the price is very reasanble I have also left couple of pictures of the menu where it is visable how the prices are cheap. I was also pleased and happy that there where no service charges. Highly recomended.

I went here the other day with my friend who was visiting and it was such a great experience. We went for the lunchtime deal & the quality of the food and service was top tier. Very friendly staff and good portions! They were also generous with the complimentary bread and dips & I look forward to coming back. I came with my friend as we saw the lunch deal. The interior is amazing and warm, I would definitely return for a special occasion. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and welcoming. We also received a complimentary tea and baklava, I will definitely be returning when I am in the city.

Expected good food but was very disappointing. Seemed like it had been reheated. We told the staff and were told all the food is freshly cooked… not this plate of food. Poor value compared with similar restaurants

We came up from Canvey to visit family and went in for dinner on Sunday night and we were not let down! The food was amazing and Semih was the perfect host. If I could give you more than 5 stars I would!

The West End has come to Barnet. Had a beautifully cooked three course meal with my family. The Head Chef Yusuf and Semih the Manager were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them. Will we be back? Of course and the sooner the better.

Went to Sur Kitchen last night with 12 friends and had the best time. Food was excellent, staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone and we will definitely be going back . It’s a 10/10 for me…

My girlfriend and I went for dinner in the place and the whole experience from start to finish was superb. It was a Tuesday night so the place wasn’t overly busy but it still had a good fun atmosphere. We ordered some cocktails and they was delicious, made properly and looked great. We had Cheese Garlic Mushrooms to start with a selection of bread and dips and what a treat it was. The mushroom sauce was absolutely amazing. The best I’ve ever had. The breads and dips was very fresh and tasty aswell. My main I picked Tiger Prawns and when it came up I had rice, salad and vegetables all on the plate. Everything was dressed perfectly and the rice was probably the best rice I’ve ever had. The prawns was massive (some places try to give you king prawns instead but these guys have you the real thing) it was a 10/10 dish in my opinion. My girlfriend had a vegetable stew and she loved it also. She’s the most fussy eater in the world so pleasing her is normally very hard but this place ticked all the right boxes. We finished with pina coladas, the staff was all very friendly from start to finish and very attentive. We will definitely be going back. It was a superb experience. Thanks to all the guys in the restaurant for making it such a fun and delicious night.

Unbelievably and ridiculously expensive for such a place, rude staff except that one waitress who was amazing, and then there was this man who asked our waitress to go away rudely, in a foreign language which my son did understand, that he was telling our waitress “to not to talk with us coz this would make us ask for freebies”. What a rude and ridiculous place, I hope that lovely waitress finds job elsewhere asap, not a good treatment of staff! Not going there ever again! And hope noone goes either, utterly expensive. Your money’s worth much more elsewhere trust me. If that lovely waitress sees this comment please try to find and reach out to me, I will recommend you wherever you find job!
