I need to come clean from the start, but I have never visited this restaurant and only learned about it last night. So what qualifies me to write a subjective review. My family are currently on holiday and the owner and his family (who we had literally just met) invited us to their villa at exceptionally short notice (2 hours!) for what we had assumed to be a quick meal. In no uncertain words, it was one of the most memorable Italian meals we have ever had. A chicken liver pate that the owners wife had recently prepared was scrumptious and the smoked salmon and shrimp penne, I swear, was on a different level to any pasta dish I have ever tasted at any 1, 2 or 3 Michelin star restaurants and we are lucky enough to have been to many of them in London. So, and in short, my apologies for not being able, (yet!), to review the restaurant itself which we will be visiting in a couple of weeks time, but if last nights meal was a taste of things to come then we are in for an unexpected treat.

This place is a hidden gem of London. The food is absolutely delicious with fresh Italian produce and an evolving menu, the atmosphere is brilliant and the co-owners are incredibly welcoming. Try the wild boar ravioli - it’s insane. Highly recommend.

Small cosy restaurant, good for business client lunches. Can be tricky on noise levels if there’s two of you and you get sat in the wrong place, as acoustics are not always too good.

This is one of London’s true hidden gems, tucked away in a gorgeous passageway a stones throw away from Liverpool Street station this location is everything! The interior is stylish, whilst maintaining a welcoming and most importantly comfortable dining experience. Having dined at the bar previously these seats are super cool as a more immersive experience. I can’t do the food justice with mere words because each dish hits every one of your senses! Your eyes are drawn to the vibrant colours of the fresh Italian tomatoes, contrasting the smells of the fresh basil and the textures of the freshest Burrata in town - it is a gastronomic experience start to finish. I’d like me Italian wines aren’t your speciality I highly recommend asking Simon for a recommendation - speaking of the hosts for your experience these guys live, breathe, sleep and eat this restaurant! They are the life blood that makes this place so special - and keep us coming back even now that we’ve moved to Australia! If you think you’ve had good food, think again until you’ve had the Enoteca Super Tuscan experience!!!

Average at best and very expensive. 5 pieces of tortellini was £25 and was honestly underwhelming. Dog friendly apparently, which to be honest having a stranger's dog sat next to you licking your hand while you're trying to eat an expensive meal is pretty unbearable.

This is an excellent place— very authentically Italian. I got the ragu and my wife had a spinach pasta; while I had the best ragu of my life, she did not take to her food. The manager / owner saw this and offered to make her a ragu plate for free. This was not only an extremely kind gesture, but it made the food and the experience all the better. Staff is attentive too. Please go and enjoy the food!

The second bite of the so called Fresh Tagliatelle of £25 WAS COLD (pic1). The entire plate comes with different heat of the pasta super weird. I never had such disappointing pasta being someone who tried countless great italian restaurants in London with an Italian bf. My first thought was IS THIS FROM THE FRIDGE & being heated up? They took it back and told me they have added different meat (pic 2) to calm me down. Btw this pasta was ready in less than 5 mins as I remembered I ordered around 8:05pm and still settling my bags down. It is not the place to go for authentic good Italian for the price. I left at 823pm. The ££ pound sign needs to be changed to £££ as it is not acceptable IF this is microwaved straight from the fridge & called it fresh Pasta.

Not authentic, starter good because no cooking involved! Pasta whilst homemade not good - of chewy consistency (I’ve had fresh pasta a million times maybe this was fresh but cooked badly..) Wild boar ragú didn’t taste of anything much likewise beef ragú bland. Do not waste your money here! Also service very unfriendly, real Italians welcome their guests, they take pride in the job, this place you hardly get a hello. Honestly don’t waste your money here…

I haven’t been here for a couple of years. I first came around 2017. Probably been 6/8 times. It has maintained what I think it aims to be - namely an authentic , genuine “local” , “ family” Tuscan restaurant. Not a West End Roman restaurant catering to different experience seekers after more formality. And that is how it should be judged by a different bench mark where it scores very very well. The food choice is a wide selection. It is good , tasty and promptly delivered with a casual ease which is actually very professional and not easy to do in a small space . That is also part of the charm, just seeing the staff and cooks just getting on with their job without any fuss. A very relaxed and inviting place to be. It is a big plus to the area by being different . James Richards

Overall a very expensive and underwhelming experience. The food just doesn’t feel great to the palate and portion size are inconsistent. The swordfish was unpleasant to eat (probably outdate) so it was returned. Small platters are not even enough for one person and charged at £15+ each. Porcini tagliatelle are charged at £40? Your although honest introduction about prices increasing can never justify this. The staff was polite although unfriendly. Would not recommend.

Loved everything about this wonderful restaurant nested in what seemed like 'Diagon Alley' near Liverpool Street Station. Food was lovely, light, and yet wholesome. They even had an earnest message at the top of their menu that spoke to the cost of living crisis and how they are still aiming to offer a fair price. We had a predominantly vegetarian spread which was wonderful and a treat in an Italian restaurant. Note: Their menus is refreshed regularly based on what is procurable from Italy and what is seasonal... so don't go by just what is available on Google.

Sehr gutes toskanisches Essen.

Our family has enjoyed multiple visits over the years to this terrific little city restaurant run by brothers Nick and Simon. However there was some gloom in the air as it is clear that the City continues to operate largely on a 3-day week with very little trade on Mondays and Fridays compared to the great pre-Covid days. Being in the City, there is no demand for weekends. Additionally, post Brexit and exacerbated by poor recent weather in the Mediterranean, product prices have rocketed. The boys were apologetic but had had to increase prices accordingly. Undaunted, my son and I tackled the menu with gusto after happily quaffing a decent bottle of prosecco (£35.00). The board of wonderful creamy burrata (£22.00) with juicy Sicilian blood red oranges (bang in season) and Datterini tomatoes was sensational. especially with fresh breads dipped in a spicy olive oil. The black Pizzetta della casa (£10.95) was covered in strips of porchetta and melted cheese, Excellent. However, we felt that the # two Scallops in shell (£15.90) were lost in a tsunami of bread crumbs. The pasta dishes of wild boar tortelloni (£21.95) and tagliatelle ragu (£24.95) were exceptional and were enhanced by the recommended bottle of Brunito 2020 (£35.95) which was superb value for money. We loved our return and had a marvellous dinner. Just hope that trade improves for these two empassioned Italian food lovers.

This used to be a hidden gem and one of my favourite restaurants in London. However, on two recent visits, the quality of the food has dropped notably, and the prices have increased significantly. Menu hasn't changed for ages and daily specials have disappeared. Yesterday, just a very simple, average tasting bowl of spaghetti and ragu, and a glass of the cheapest red wine available, cost over £40.

This has been a hidden gem for family suppers for several years with brothers, Nick and Simon, always providing a warm welcome and great food. However the on/off restrictions imposed by the CV-19 virus has clearly had an impact since March 2020 and being in the City, future trade prospects are hard to predict. As usual, we started with a fine bottle of Prosecco (£33.95) supported later by an Italian red Maremmante (£49.95). Starters of Buratta with Detterini tomatoes with a rich balsamic, fresh bread and dipping oil was sublime. The two small, black Pizzetta were also hot, crisp and delicious as was the aubergine stack, halibut and polpette but then either the food or our selctions went off track. Too much toasted bread, too many beans and too little meat characterised the next four dishes on to our table.. The overall bill for 4 with 15% gratuity was £281.21 - quite pricey for a Thursday night family supper but it would have been ok if the food was universally of a high standard. Let's hope their game improves for our next visit in early 2022

Can’t wait till this place reopens! Came in here the week before Christmas for a celebratory drink. No decent wines by the glass (check Vivino or Wine Searcher ratings beige you order anything). No matter, we’ll compromise on what three different friends want and get a bottle. Here, anything with a half decent rating starts at well north of £50, and quickly accelerates. Not such a prob, only upon opening the menu a small note flutters out: ‘We do not accept Amex for card payments of less than £150’. That seemed odd; I’ve never seen a business of any description set such a high threshold for the use of Amex. When the maitre’d came to take our order, I politely asked why this was. ‘They charge five times as much as the other card providers.’ I pointed out this wasn’t true: MasterCard and Visa have both upped their merchant fees in recent years to the point where they’re on a par with Amex. (Disclosure: I don’t work for Amex or care about them as a company - I use all three major card providers, but would rather, as a paying customer, choose which I get to pay with). ‘Well, it also takes more than a week for them to deposit the cash in our accounts after they’ve charged you.’ I pointed out this wasn’t true either (I do work in finance, and know a bit about the vagaries of the various payment networks). This very rapidly descended into the manager shouting: ‘LOOK, WE JUST DONT TAKE IT ALRIGHT, SO CHOOSE ANOTHER CARD TO PAY WITH’. Sod what the customer thinks then. Once again, the week before Christmas! Addendum: if you’re feeling fresh, you CAN pay for any bill amount with your Amex; if a merchant accepts the card, they can’t control the amount you pay with. So I suggest whipping out a different card, or readying ApplePay, and then paying for that £50 bottle with your BA Airmiles card.

We had had it recommended and we certainly weren't disappointed. We had the Antipasto di Formaggio for 2. Wonderful selection of 6 different tasty Italian cheeses, olives, salad leaves and small marinaded onions. It was a very generously loaded plate which we felt was good value at £12 each. Great Italian wine to accompany it. Despite turning up quite late in the evening they were very welcoming. The food being prepared in the kitchen smelt and looked great. We highly recommend a visit.

As a group of friends, we have been coming to this restaurant for a few years culminating in what turned out to be an annual tradition of having a Christmas celebration here! It’s pretty expensive place but the food is good and we like the fact that it empties out in the afternoon. However, sometimes there’s an interaction with the staff that suddenly changes your perception of the restaurant! Today, we spent the best part of the afternoon enjoying each others company having spent quite a lot on the meal. Upon asking for the bill a friend stated , in a light hearted fashion, that it would be great if we could have a complimentary limoncello.Unfortunately the manager felt the need to lecture us on the fact that he doesn’t get free drinks from his supplier and so we shouldn’t either. Funnily enough, we have never experienced such a long winded refusal from our local high street Italian where this is provided without even a prompt!A simple “I’m sorry ” would have done to avoid embarrassing my friend. One assumes they don’t tip their suppliers, yet we do!To this end, we decided to subtract 2.5% off the tip and will take our traditions elsewhere! In summary- good food, bit expensive but should take more time not to embarrass their customers in a public forum!

We introduced our neighbours to this little gem in the City on a Tuesday evening. They were encouraged by the warmth of the welcome from brothers Nick and Simon but astounded by the sheer quality of the food. This restaurant is not cheap if you succumb to the recommendations for both food and wine but you will be assured of a fantastic evening as we were. Their burrata is consistently the best in London - the soft shell cheese wrapped around a creamy centre, served with the intensely flavoured Datterini tomatoes from Sicily and drizzled with a thick, unctuous balsamic is a gourmets heaven on a plate. Follow with their crisp, black pizza overlaid with vegetables, roast cheese wrapped in prosciutto and you are on your way to a truly memorable meal. However, this time we opted for the 1.3gms bone-in-rib (£105) to share with added rosemary sautéed potatoes and lightly braised cavolo nero and it was magnificent - rare, flavourful and such a treat. This remains my favourite Italian in London. Well done boys !!

We recently visited here for lunch. It is quite small but luckily we had a booth. The staff were friendly and the food was nice.

Probably the best local Tuscan restaurant in London. Truly Italian. It was like being in a local restaurant in Chianti or Siena. Everything about it was authentic. My mate and I found earlier this week when we met and we walked in and forced them to give us a table without a reservation. The cheek! Very small so you must reserve but the smaller, the better. Considering it’s a super small and cosy restaurant, we settled to eat at the bar, watching the Italian chefs cook and banter. Super cool! Highly recommended. The ragu and wild boar though... Loved the wine selections as well. Staff were polite, helpful, friendly and the owners made us feel very welcome Exquisite service. Loved it and certainly going back with my Italian friends.

Good but pricey for the size and quality. 18 for an ok pasta that didn't really fill me in is in my opinion too much

I visited this place with my boss for an early dinner on a Thursday night, and it was really crowded! However, the service was good and my request for a nut free vegetarian meal was well catered to. I had the truffle pasta which was nice and fresh. Overall, we had a nice time here.

A little Italian gem near Spitalfields. Great little place with freshly prepared seasonal food. A good menu plus specials board. Friendly & attentive service. I had the courgette flower with cream cheese, deep fried, to start followed by the wild boar tortellini. Both were excellent & full of flavour. Washed down with a couple of Moretti’s. An excellent lunch & will definitely come back soon.

Just enjoyed an excellent meal in this super cosy restaurant. Very friendly service. Menu supplemented by specials which are enthusiastically described by staff. We shared delicious figs stuffed with cheese and roasted peppers to start. I had the superb fish ragu and my husband had the meat ragu. Good wine. Not cheap but for London, excellent value.

This is a rather small facility, but big on taste and service! You must get reservations as this is a well known local Italian delight. The menu changes frequently and they have a large wine list. The action in cooking takes place in front of you by a young upbeat Italian staff. I had the rabbit special which was delightful. If you can find it, you will be in for a great treat!

Our family are now regulars at this small but delightful Italian restaurant run in "hands on" style by Simon and his brother. It is a treat just to hear Simon explaining the specials of the day as he knows the provenance of every item. The wonderfully creamy burrata with Sicilian dattorini baby tomatoes and intense balsamic oil dressing is almost a signature dish and just has to be ordered. Try the deep fried courgette flower stuffed with mozzarella cheese - deeply satisfying as was the small black pastry pizza with vegetable topping but also leave room at the starter stage for the spicy sausage fritter with superb parmesan sauce.

Lovely wine & place. However £20 for a meats and cheese platter you’d expect it to come with bread - having to pay an extra £3 for bread isn’t cool guys, not cool.

Emilia’s Crafted Pasta near the Tower of London is fantastic! The fresh, handmade pasta is packed with authentic Italian flavors. I had the ravioli, and it was cooked to perfection—rich, flavorful, and satisfying. The service was warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious meal!

The most authentic Italian pizza I have tasted for a very long time…served with love and pride by a dedicated team. With this recipe you can’t go wrong. Meat feast and garlic bread with cheese exceptional and delizioso.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast - I think my avocado salmon omelet was very yummy and the fresh pita was amazing; my husband thought the dirty bacon waffle was delicious and filling, but either too much syrup or the syrup was super sweet. And it was fun listening the all the Italian since I haven't been to Italy in years.
