Sunshine Chinese Take Away in Gwynedd

We opted for a take away from here, a Birthday celebration. Opting for the set meal for three- This comes with appetisers, three fried rice and a choice of three main dishes. Crispy beef, chicken curry and special chowmein. As there was 4 of us we added chicken balls in batter and some salt and pepper chips- This was more than enough. All dishes piping hot and full of flavour!! Would highly recommend!!!

I ordered my takeout this evening and my order was give to someone else!! This person took my order home, they said they would make me a fresh one but as my order was returned 15min later I was witness to the worst acting Iv seen. My order was taken to the back room and within 30seconds was brought back out. When I got home the food was cold and went straight to the bin!!! WASTE OF £13 will not be returning.

Sunshine has the best food so many fresh veggies and tasty sauces I always go to sunshine if I’m getting a Chinese by far the best and the staff are lovely

Excellent service here, but the food was absolutely garbage. I feel awful writing this as they are so lovely in there. The prawns were cut in half, salty and the rest of the food was bland with too much salt. Swing and a miss. Its more of a chippy than a Chinese. I would go back to try the chippy bit.

Lovely food, brilliant customer service we order from here a lot and drive out of our way to have food from here. We highly recommend it.

The food was terrible, the worst I ever had. Straight to the bin. I would prefer to eat nothing in a week.

lack of customer service, food was sadly low quality as I asked for extra curry sauce and the rice was bone dry and the chips tasted raw.shame

We called here giving the place another chance following our last disappointing takeaway. This place says it opens at 5pm on a Saturday and yet we sat outside to see a car pull up with a chef at 5. 10 pm we were just about to go elsewhere then the lights were turned on. We entered to order our meals to see the friers being switched on. If they open at 5pm would it not be best for them to get there at say 4.45 to warm the place up. What was more alarming was that we noticed cold cooked chips in the tray and then warming them up to serve to us also cooked fish from presumably the afternoon or night before being put back in the fridge for later consumption. It’s awful and we waited 30 minutes to get served being the first customer of the day. Best advice to this owner get there earlier and switch on the friers and stop warming up stale food for others to consume. Definitely never again

Twice in the last week I have tried to order food at this establishment, to be thoroughly disappointed that they were closed, despite the opening times saying they were open until 10.30. Unreliable to say the least

My favourite take away , cheap quick and tasty. Their chicken satay is just awesome as is their special fried rice. Spare rins also recommended.

I was passing and thought I’d give it a go As I usually go to the Elegant Chinese in Menia Bridge which is excellent by the way.This place needs to put some seasoning in there curry it’s like as if it’s watered down . Called for a beef curry never again it’s tasteless .why can’t they get it right . Awful never again

We called into this Chinese Take Away towards the end of the week ( w/e 01 July 2017 ). and ordered 2 x fish and chips and a carton of curry to take away.. There was a wait due to the fish and the chips being cooked from fresh. When we asked if the fish was cod, haddock, hake or whatever, the Chinese lady behind the counter told us it wasv neither, but simply said it was a fish regularly eaten by the Chinese people, describing it as white and boneless flesh done in batter. No name of species was given to the fish. Nevertheless we ordered it and took it to our parked car outside the shop to eat. The fish had a thick crispy batter coating. The fish was as described to us as white and boneless. However, it was totally tasteless - nothing fishy tasting about it. The large portions of chips were adequate, but the quality of potato was poor in our opinion and lacked that appealing golden brown finish. The curry sauce was bland as if it were simply coloured flour and water mixed, minus curry powder All in all a very poor take away meal. Price for the two meals £12.80. I would not recommend this 'take away' for fish and chips, or a carton of so called curry sauce.

I came here a few months back one Monday evening and had fish and chips, I feel as though the fish was frozen with batter on and thrown straight in the fryer. The fish didn't taste all that nice and I felt slightly off later. This is disappointing since when I used this place frequently 15 years and a bit less back, it was absolutely delicious and had fresh fish with the batter put on it in shop (you could see them do it)

The "Chips" are absolutely dreadful, fried toenails, been like that for years, sadly still the same, the "fish" sad looking wrinkled "sausages" and anything else the savvy punters have not bought, dry up in the display hotplate, waiting for the next unsuspecting sad sap to purchase them, it really should not be like this. Avoid.

Being a local I visited here as my usual place was closed and thought I would give it a go. On the telephone, the lady was very helpful as I had no menu to order from. On arriving there was a parking space outside which is sometimes very busy as there is a neighbouring pub in the same street. The Sunshine is very clean in the reception area this I noticed straight away. It has a chippy fryer at the front and I presume the kitchen for cooking in the back. I waited around 5 minutes for my order while customers were arriving. The food was appetising and I will return if not for a chinese I will for a chippy tea.

We are lucky in Bangor that there are many good chippies. This must rank as one of the best. Pleasant service. But the gravy is unbeatable. Try it!

A very nice Chinese/Chip shop, that offers great value for money. The lunch and dinner time deals are really good.

Staff are always lovely.. The food is always lovely too and its not expensive. One of the best takeaways we have!
