Sun Yee in Rotherham

Tbh we are out of area but thought we’d give it a try, salt & pepper shredded chicken was good as were the S&P Chips, S&S chicken balls were large chunks of chicken breast all though batter was a little thick but crispy, chow mein was good and tasty as was the Egg Fried Rice, price great as back home in Newark we pay £9 a dish and it’s no better in fact not as tasty.

Ordered from here last night and I can honestly say that it's the worst Chinese meal I've ever encountered! The fried rice and chow mein both had a sickly taste. The sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style was on a whole new level of inedible, literally some battered chicken and raw vegetables floating in a watery pale pink liquid which had a weird sherbet taste to it, not dissimilar to the taste of a cheap energy drink! The entire meal went straight into the bin. Only given one star as it wouldn't let me leave a zero rating!

I attended today to review your food. The rice was tasteless and and moist and was definately lacking flavour. Likewise when I tatsed the black bean there was hardly any black bean init and it was more like a bbq flavored watery gravy and the ribs were average. They do cash only but I managed to pay via the website as collection. Overall the food was terrible and i expeceted way better for a tradition chinese takeaway. This is the second bad chinese I have had in the Rotherham area. If anyone knows of any decent local chinese to try pls drop me a mesage.

Once I'd dug the hair out of my 'Thai' shredded beef I could sit down and eat it. I've been to Thailand and this didn't resemble any Thai meal I had over there (bag of premade shredded beef with a dollop of sweet and sour sauce on it). Ribs had very little meat on them. I had a takeaway from here about 9 months ago and it was terrible, nothing has changed, it's still terrible. I won't be bothering again.

Absolutely the worst food and customer service!!! Fried rice was burnt and black, chicken chow mein looked like it’s not even been cooked!! Chips cold and tasteless Didn’t receive my full order when asked for a full refund they refused! Would not recommend at all!!!!

Fried Chicken Cantonese Style... Absolutely out of this world. Crispy fresh vegetables and pineapple, tender chicken and a perfect sauce, not too sweet or salty. Perfectly cooked rice. Absolutely stunning. Arrived within 20 minutes of ordering piping hot

Ive just moved to this area and decided to try sun yee with my daughters,omg this Chinese is up there. The takeaway dishes are massive and full of delicious food, if your hungry and want nice Chinese grub, order 😋

Terrible, rice was brown, calamari was so dry I couldn't even bite a piece off. Beef was ok. Worst Chinese I've had for a while. What happened years ago this was my favourite.

Had a meal delivered today but I will not order again from sun yee . My order was £30 the chicken fried rice smelt burnt and was full of burnt pieces of rice,we were not able to eat it.

Had a chicken chow mein and chicken balls and chips chlw mien was nothing but grease made me ill for 3 day's

Been having food from here for about 4 years. Only had one negative experience, and that was just before the lockdown when I got a piece of uncooked beef in my meal....... Luckily, it was the last bit so I was suitably stuffed anyway.

Ordered from here before, food was ok. Ordered again from here last night and spent today off work and throwing up, my guess is the chicken wasn't cooked correctly as I'm not one for falling sick easily! Delivery was around 45 minutes which is generally expected anyway!

Best food in Swallownest/Aston....tried most n these are just the best...try their Singapore Chow Mein. ...

The food is always well cooked and delicious. Tried many different dishes from the menu and never dissapointed. One of my favourite takeaways.

New owners have taken over and the food does not taste as good as it used to.

I would have given them 0 star but havnt got the option portion size are very poor containers only half full which would feed my granddaughter at 5 not same since been taken over

Great service best Chinese food I have had in a long time

Called earlier this evening for chicken curry with fried rice, just got back from pub to enjoy it to watch the footall on TV , opened it up ready for the microwave long black hair luckily on the top of the curry still put me off, won't go there again.

Proper old school Chinese take away.

Always a quick delivery service from Sun Yee. My only criticism is that they always overcook the Sweet and Sour Battered Chicken Balls. 2 years after i posted this review they still always do it, so I've dropped another star for that!
