Very disappointing food, contacted the owner who admitted that the reason the meat was tough was that chef did not have time to marinate the meat ! I eventually had a full refund but obviously spoilt my night as it was un edible. Will not be using the business again….

I do not like children taking my order over the phone. It was very difficult and I had to repeat myself several times which became annoying and I do not like having to repeat my card details 2 or 3 times either. I appreciate she was trying to help her family’s buisness but it was very frustrating and not professional

The online ordering process and delivery was perfect, even got a phone call to confirm the order was on it's way and it was exactly on time. The food was amazing, all of the dishes tasted great, we particularly like the crispy chilly beef! Will definitely be ordering again.

By far the best local take away we’ve tried! We don’t usually get deliveries because we live in an awkward-to-reach place, but the driver found us super fast and food was very hot and obviously fresh. Textures were excellent, flavour was divine, order was totally accurate and on top of that, the owners are really lovely people and customer service was excellent. 100% recommend!

Shared a chicken chow mein with my sister on 15/12/2023 and a week later I’m still suffering from a bad belly and unable to work. Avoid this place

Food poisoning. Whole family had same meal & all throwing up & "beyond" within 3 hours. Normally the go to but reconsidering food safety after getting a simple meal wrong

Gross. Tried this place 3 years ago when first moved to the area. most of the food we threw away. Tried it again last weekend in the hope improvements have been made, sadly not. The food was nasty and the so called satay sauce was just bizarre. Moreover placed the order online to be ready for 7:30pm, got out food at 8:05pm. Will never being giving them our money again.

Tasty food, generous portions. Delivery is great, always arrives on time and piping hot. Can order online, which is so handy. Also had little corner shop next door!

super like spare ribs here, as a Chinese, I am a little picky, but the barbecued spare ribs taste so delicious!!!

We have takeaways from Sun Hall quite often and they are consistently very tasty and definitely for me the best in the area. We live on the edge of the delivery range and they're usually very prompt with the timings despite that.

Unfortunately we’ve had a bad experience with Sun Hall. Our regular Chinese was shut so we took a chance on this one (after hearing positive things). The food was over an hour late (they said the driver got lost on the drop off before ours). The complimentary prawn crackers also came with some complimentary human hair, this instantly put us off. The mains were underwhelming, prawn toast soggy and food was generally bland. Not the quality you’d expect for the price. Sorry Sun Hall, we won’t be coming back :(

Really poor experience this evening. Placed an online order at 18:00 for delivery to Langford, with the delivery costing just under £5. Waited until 19:20 and phoned for an update. I was told they are busy but the driver had just left. Waited until 20:00 and phoned again for an update. I was told the driver was close, but I challenged this, as it shouldn't take 40 mins to drive to Langford. I was told, as they are busy, delivery can take up to 3 hours. 3 hours! I asked for a refund and got passed to the 'boss' by the unapologetic call handler. It sounded like there was a brief conversation during this call handover where the boss admitted to the call handler that they had messed up the order, but this was difficult to hear so I cannot be sure. When the boss came on the phone she at least apologised but insisted the driver was close. I did not pursue a refund any further as I prefer not to do this, especially during current cost of living etc. The driver eventually turned up a couple of minutes later, announcing "Sun Hall" and handed me the food. No apology. No extras as way of apology. No waiver of the delivery fee. Just said have a nice evening and walked off, like all had gone well. The food was generally nice. However, there was actually an unknown meat in the king prawn chow mein, which isn't great.. photo attached. Sun Hall, you simply cannot treat customers like this. Trying to palm off delivery times as anything up to 3 hours being acceptable is not okay. The communication was poor and there was no effort made to compensate for our bad experience. What would it cost to throw in some prawn crackers when delivery is slow to show you care? Despite the food being generally good, we have no intention of using you again.

Due to Storm Eunice power cuts we couldn't cook for a day, so I decided to get a Chinese Takeaway for me and my elderly mother. I have serious food allergies (epipen etc), and my mother has an old person's delicate stomach... Sun Hall were excellent, they checked the ingredients of lots of dishes, and cooked our food specially to order eg no peppers or chillis for me, and a very mild chicken curry (without the mushrooms!) for my mother. I'm used to London takeaways - you certainly get larger portions in Somerset and lots of meat and fresh tasting vegetables too. I had enough in my order (chicken & cashew nuts, vegetable noodles) for two meals and I'm a big chap with a large appetite. Can't recommend enough - I will be bringing my elderly mother an extra mild chicken curry (without mushrooms) and boiled rice from Sun Hall on a monthly basis from now on. Thanks!

Excellent food, probably best chinese out of 25 I have tried in UK, excellent customer service ordering by phone, also fast delivery! They know what they doing. We'll definitely order again and recommend!

When we moved out of central Bristol to a more rural location, I assumed one of the biggest changes would be the loss of access to excellent cooked food. In terms of Chinese food, I could not have been more wrong. I spent 20 years living in various parts of Bristol and nowhere came close to the quality of Sun Hall. It’s perhaps a little more expensive, but the quality is excellent, so it represents great value as far as I’m concerned. Always hot, meat is tender, veggies juicy, fried stuff is crispy and the sauces full of flavour. And they clearly keep their salt/msg use in check as you don’t wake up with an excessively dry mouth the next day! Recommended.

Wouldn’t normally review a takeaway but this was particularly good for a Chinese. Ordered ribs, special chow mein, crispy shredded beef and aromatic duck. All dishes were cooked well and were not greasy at all. Friendly service, good value and ready to collect on time. Will visit again when next in the area.

Lived in the area several years ago, and it was my chinese takeaway of choice. Have a great selection of chinese and thai dishes and the quality is very good. My wife is a coeliac (cannot eat gluten) and the staff at sun hall are extremely accommodating and very knowledgeable about what she can eat. Give it a try!
