Popped in for a pit stop, great beer and bar staff

An interesting pub with a highly unusual and long term modern sculpture around the back . In the style of Tracy Emins unmade bed it’s a stylised number call “workman at lunch” depicting some construction accoutrements such as plastic road work stuff. It’s been there a number of months and although it’s not readily visible from the main road it’s full glory can be enjoyed around the back. Be careful of the very narrower road and lack of anyone ever doing anything with it Update; this is now up for sale and I’m taking bids , if a banana duct taped to a piece of cardboard can sell for 6.9 million ( I’m not shitting) then I’m certain I could muster a good 50k . Amazing food, lovely staff. The owner even went to the shop to get me some stuffing for my sandwich. The food was delicious! Lovely views too.

Staying locally and called in with my wife for Sunday roast. Excellent and plenty of it too. Highly recommended.

Yorkshire ales and some proper food. Cottage pie was fantastic. Service friendly and welcoming.

Good atmosphere with friendly folk both sides of the bar... Decent beer at a sensible price... Will call again and recommend. 👍

Absolutely fantastic pub! Spent a great afternoon here. Decor is nice airy and modern, landlady is pleasant and very accomodating. Parking is limited as most of the carpark is used as an outdoor area now but can usually park on the road outside.

Went there with my Daughter, nice drink. X

Excellent friendly pub landlord friendly bar manager and manageress extremely helpful whilst visiting they will be serving food in January onwards 2020 they also have a dartboard no age restrictions for long and supervised by an adult and pool table to keep adults and children entertained locals extremely friendly smoking area of a lebl outside with ashtrays on walls very clean and fairly priced very nice local pub highly recommend a visit
