A really nice place, with fantastic food, a wonderful atmosphere and super cute and cosy rooms. It's an absolutely wonderful place to go for drinks, a meal, a short stay or even all three

A beautiful area, good rooms and great breakfast We didn't eat in restaurant, but it smelt good and was always busy. Walking distantance to 2 other old fashioned beer pubs that were wonderful.

Stayed here over night for a wedding and couldn't have asked for more at the price. Room was comfy and had everything you need with a delicious breakfast in the morning

Great place to meet friends, great entertainment and food. Staff really friendly although bar service can be a little slow. New installation of TV for sports is a great addition. What is really good is they think about customers, do some great offers and put effort into specials days and events. Really look after the locals as well as occasional visitors

Stayed there - room was lovely, great size, well maintained and lovely amenities. Breakfast was gorgeous and their restaurant food (we treated ourselves to dinner there!) was lush and very reasonably priced. Would stay again

We had a lovely stay, great food, and apart from extreme heat, slept well. The heat was not the fault of the hotel, but the temperature outside in a mini heatwave. Having not visited the peak district before it was a great base to explore from. Hope to return again to see more. Only slight negative for our stay was difficulty parking in the only disabled bay, other drivers would park not in a bay but as near to the entrance as possible, this made getting into the bay difficult, and just as hard to get out of it too. Again not the fault of the hotel, more the ignorant drivers who do not consider other drivers. Loads of historical information available all round the area, and online maps are also available to show you where to see notice boards which show pictures, and tell the story of the buildings around you. Fascinating history regarding the mills, and mines, and of times gone by. We loved the countryside, green rolling hills, with trees, and lovely old stone buildings. Thanks to the staff at strutt arms hotel, elephant and peacock, sensible prices, and great food.

Best Sunday carvery in the area. I go every week I can go. My missis is a bit new age and lost the art of cooking along the way so it's my stable meal of the week. Amazing! Oh yes as rarity they do lamb too on the meat carving station!

Really good breakfast, welcome and service was excellent, food very tasty and good quality and value. We'll go back, definitely. Only two minor niggles, one, I wish they started serving breakfast at 9 or 9 30 rather than 10. Two, the sausages tasted a bit weird. Other than that, a perfect score.
