Service is terrible . Ordered online and was given a 45minute time. Got to the shop and had to wait a further 35 minutes. Waste of time ordering on line they don’t start the order till you get there .

Just had Cod & Chips and got to say it’s the best Cod I have ever had. Flaky Fresh & delicious. The chips were done to perfection. Spot on. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

People came after me and was served before me and also there customer service was bad and also they made an effort to talk to other customers I'm new to the area and I'm a food critic so impression was not that great!!!

Im leaving this review on behalf of myself and all of my neighbours. For the Kings Coronation we held a street party. We pre ordered 40+ meals all to be delivered all in one go. The team at Streetly Village Fish Bar delivered our huge order on time, Perfectly cooked and the Quality of the food was excellent, every person eat exactly what they ordered. Big thanks to Bal, Kelly and Her team.

I drive 9 miles for these guys food. Fantastic taste 👌 Good price 👍 Friendly staff All the food you can taste is fresh and hasn't been sitting long like other shops. Always hott too. Fantastic chippy. And if there's a queue they will ask if u want to sit in your car and they will bring it out to you !!!!

The food is excellent with a wide range of items available including burgers and chicken. The chips are a little but on the greasy side but overall its a good solid chippy.

Bought steak and kidney pie and chips £6-10 ,2 minutes to put on table to find pie like warm ,chips slightly warmer so threw in bin ,will definitely not return ( even if one off). Ended up having a bacon sandwich which was hot 🔥. You expect better in this area ,obviously not 👇

1st time I've ordered from here went directly into the shop, ordered kebab meat & chips and when I got home it was a kebab in pitta & no chips & it cost me £6 & it was tiny. Wasn't happy as I travelled a distance to get there. I advise if you order food check your order before you leave the shop!

Not very impressed. Staff are miserable and unorganised. My Cod and Chips were cooked fresh. Not very nice, the fish was soggy and so were my chips. I was recommended this shop. I usually use Bakers Lane Fish Bar, this is brilliant.

They fry everything in the same fryer, so fish and their meats which is very unhygienic. Staff not very friendly. Was charged for food that I didn’t even take due to cross contamination. Would not visit here again

While in the area popped by to grab some food. Limited veggie options. Were actually out of mushrooms. And there's no place to wait inside. Price was a little steep for the food. Food was ok. There's parking right outside. Interesting old phone box over the road for a book exchange!

every time we have been here it takes extremely long for your order to be done no other chip shop takes this long not only that they ask you to wait in your car and completely forget you

The chips brown and tasted like they had been heated up. Served in a box seemed grubby. Not much change out of £20 for two cod and chips. Won’t be returning

Went there thos evening gorl with glasses and long blonde hair served me. She didnt have her hair tied up it was hanging round her shoulders, no hat or hair net not good when serving and prepping food. She also left the shop to turn off her car alarm and messed with money but came straight back into serving food without washing or gelling her hands. She served me a chicken tikka kebab from a tin of meat rather than off the grill cooking, it was hard and dry, meat was old and been kept warm in metal container. Would not go back again.

Streetly Village Fish has dramatically improved the quality of food and service.

Parked my car outside it, the smell of freshly cooked fish and chips absolutley mouth watering.

There was a 20 min wait I got 2 fishes ( mostly batter) Full of oil which was again not fresh Chips were re fried Not going here again for definitely

This has become our local chip shop now and usually we are not disappointed. However we have just once on our last visit, were left disappointed. The chips were black and greasy. We've never had any problems before and hope this is a one off. Usually the food is amazing and as I say this has become our only chip shop we use so fingers crossed for our next visit.

Great local chippy, normally a donner & a chicken kebab, fish bites, a fish cake and a portion of chips for Friday tea, never been disappointed. Keep up the good work guys!

Great food, Covid safe service.

I didn't go there but was opposite at the newly renovated and repurposed red telephone box now The Exchange stocking the shelves made by my husband with books, dvds and seeds for Streetly Community to enjoy.

Never a bad meal and great that it is open Sundays!

Phoned in order, collected our fresh meal soon after. Very friendly staff and yummy fish n chips. Sorry it's taken us so long to find you.

Always had good food in the past so tried to order on-line delivery. Went through all the ordering procedure only to have order rejected on the basis of don’t do deliveries anymore. Please update your web site.

Good is good but the over 30mins wait is too much

Very disappointed. First time here.... almost one hour wait, poor portions, battered roe was soggy, the order wasn't as requested and just generally a let down. Won't be using this place again....... Aldridge town center chippy is much better

Didn’t have time to cook for our family who were visiting so we opted for fish and chips...the food was cooked to perfection!! Fish just melted in your mouth and the chips were so yummy. Great quality food, great service!! We ordered in advance and collected and this worked so well....highly recommend Streetly Village Fish Bar - Thanks guys!!!

Got to say I tried here on a recommendation but the cone of chips seems quite small.

Great that you can order on line. You can pay on-line by card under £5 but not at the shop, despite the card merchant charging a percentage with no minimum fee 🤷🏽

Always come to this chippy, love the food here. Right opposite the co op to get the wine for the food too.

my family and I regularly eat at this chip shop. We mainly get the fish and chips, it is always delicious and the chips certainly stand out. The tikka kebab and fried halloumi ( veg option) are also delicious

We tried ordering online as asked by the notice in the window but unfortunately this did not work after two attempts so we had to give up and go elsewhere.

Wonderful place, friendly staff. Easy parking. Prefer this to other fish bars in the area.

Perhaps depends on the day, but not as good as it used to be for a chippy at the upper end of the passing trade market, Venue clean and tidy enough, fish was watery and chips not at all crisp.

Great place . We work within the classic car trade , and regularly collect and deliver cars all over the uk , on Friday we dropped into streetly and spotted the chip shop . It was clean , friendly and well priced , I had cod roe and my bro had fish and chips, it was all lovely and we would return another time.

Lovely fish and chips from here. The lunchtime staff are very friendly. I think he is the owner. All fish cooked fresh too.

Used this chippy many many times for myself and family, food is always fresh and hot, staff are lovely, when we have a big order we phone ahead or order with their own app. Fish is fresh and to order, pies are always hot, chips are always fresh, we have never had a complaint would 100% recommend

First time I've tried this takeaway and because of the prime location, I was expecting good food. Sadly, my expectations were met with disappointment. I ordered a regular portion of chips, mini fish and a small bottle of cola for £6.50. The portions were generous, however, more importantly, the quality of the food wasn't good enough. Friendly staff, though.

After my nice review back in April it’s only fair I review my recent visit. Firstly, the pretty girl taking the order couldn’t look more miserable. We all hate work sometimes, we hate some of our customers too at our work but we still smile at them and pretend to be happy. That’s why they keep coming back. I ordered a fairly large order which included 2 large peas. Then came the 18 minute wait (yes I timed it cause I had nothing else to do other than look at my phone)During the wait other people were being served who only wanted chips (the wait was for the fish) and, because I was bored, I was watching them being served peas. So it gets to my order and she says (in the most miserable manner) we haven’t got any peas. I actually thought she was going to say sorry about the wait but, no, it was just the no lead phrase. I said why?, she said because it’s all gone. I said why didn’t you put my peas to one side? She said I don’t know. So Because I didn’t want to wait any more and endure the faff of organising the refund, I told her she could keep the money for the peas as a tip (to see if in anyway I could convert the ends of her mouth that were being pulled downwards by gravitational force into a smile but I failed)To top it all off when I got home she forgot to put the chips in the bag. Now you see why this review was a one star.

The last order of fish and chips was so disappointing even I couldn't eat it! I'm only leaving a bad review because it's quite insulting that they knowingly was quite happy to serve me old, luke warm chips, even older dry fish and cold curry sauce. I'm really not that fussy but I honestly can't remember ordering worse food.

Second time I've visited here for fish and chips. First ordered 2 cods with chips, today 2 haddock with chips. I'm told the fish is always fresh, they don't use frozen - I think they mean they defrost the deliveries of fish from frozen and then store it in the fridge, like supermarket fishmongers (forgive my naivety if this is obvious to you). The texture of the fish is good and retains a lot of taste. The batter is freshly done, and you can choose for a 'light batter' which I find perfectly crispy. The service is quick, efficient and friendly. It's certainly worth the 10 minute drive to pick it up. Unfortunately, your 1 star out of 5 Food Hygiene rating is worrying and needs improvement, as that's very important to most people. Thank you! EDIT (04/19): This fish bar has now undergone a huge refurbishment inside to both the visible kitchen area and waiting space. I have not visited since but will do so when I feel like a Fish and Chips again.

A busy Saturday evening and these people had sufficient stock and sufficient staff in this small newly decorated fish and chip shop. I can think of another fish and chip shop just a mile and a half away who should take a leaf out of this places book. Thanks for some great food.

What a great find. The best quality F&C; ever and they even have an electric door. I've been there twice already and will go back for more next time I am there.

Appreciate things are cooked to order but not taking orders until the ones in front have been served means nothing is being prepared.......when the queue is out of the shop.

Best chips in Sutton Coldfield worth the wait

This was my first visit here, the staff were lovely and so polite. I had the halloumi and chips wich was freshly battered and made to order, it was reasonably priced and the portions were nice and large. Overall I had a great experience, will be going back!

Mother in law has just moved into the area so we thought we'd try the chippy, good selection of specials on the board, and the normal goodies, the service was quite good and no complaints about the portion sizes or prices, but they could do with changing the wrapping paper, everything, especially the fish sticks to it, really frustrating when unwrapping .

Nice fish and chip shop, reasonably priced

Service is poor, too slow, they frustrate the customers, staff do not respect food when packaging (fish was broken in 2, pie not hot, kebab was hanging out of the pitta). Placed a large order as had family over and they got it very wrong. On one occasion, I saw a staff member putting my order together and I could see that she missed out a fish (it was just a mistake - so not intentional), but I said "you have missed 1 fish" staff member said its in there - then I had to unravel the packaging to prove that it was not there, should not have had to do this. Saw a staff member have a cigarette outside then return to the shop and I did not see that this particular staff member wash their hands before getting back to work! We have given these guys 3 - 4 chances to redeem themselves, but no joy! So we will not be returning! Post refurb - this place has gone downhill, has the management changed?

Best Chip Shop I’ve been to in a while .

Ordered fish and chips. Paid for fish and chips. Got home and no fish. The woman actually confirmed the order too. Most expensive bag of chips I’ve ever had.

Good food and excellent service

Although this place is small it has a big heart and good sized portions toboot. The quee is regularly round the shop and in some cases it's out of the door but they never hang about and you're sure to be served in record quick time.

Your only request is no onions, and it was written on the wrapping, how many onions would you expects? If your answer is lots - winner!

Came to grab food for the family as Crown Takeaway down the road had ran out of food. Price was about standard for any Fish & Chip shop in Sutton Coldfield but more expensive than average. Was made to wait 15 minutes for the food which is absolutely fine since it means it's cooked fresh.

We had chips and a lovely kebab, you may have to wait a little as it's cooked to order which is how it should be. Now the good reviews are filtering through you should put the correct name back on ha ha

Been here a few times, staff are helpful and food is always spot on! Great prices, and foos is always fresh too, they always offer an alternative if they dont have a certain thing in definately recommend

I have been a few times, I have put up with the 15 min wait for cooking which they only do so they don't have any left over fish,put up with being called love, put up with non smiling chef who forgets he is cooking for the people the other side of the counter,put up with being in a queue of 7 that fills the place and drafty if you are by the door,last night they were the only shop not to clear the snow,the floor inside was soaked with a yellow sign up to cover them for insurance purposes,they have no understanding of customers experience ,take order,someone else asks have you ordered ,first one asks do you want salt and vin when you told them no s and v,the second one asks if you want salt and v,its just a cash cow for someone,its not a proper chippie

Came here Friday 1st December for fish and chips which were super. The fish and chips were both fresh and tasty. This place is getting better now. The only thing is when this place was having a poor run on TripAdvisor, the owners changed the name from "Streetly Village Fish Bar" to just "Streetly" which I think is a bit of a poor tactic. Don't try and hide your poor reviews. This establishment is improving. Change your name back so people can find you and come here.

After a few years decided to try again. Sadly like last time I had stomach pain all night. A quick check on their Lichfield District Council food hygiene rating from December 2016 gives them a 1 out of 5 rating - "Major Improvement Necessary" - shocking given the exclusive location of the shop on the border with Little Aston, and this is not the first time this shop was given 1 out of 5.

Great chips, couldn't fault it, by far the best in the area, would highly recommend, had chicken and chips with gravy, lush!!

Called in on way home from work a number of times (you know the feeling!!) - great portions and the chip-shop curry sauce is quite fab! Can get very, very busy, especially around 5:30pm to 7pm............. but worth the wait.

Couldn't fault the chip on this visit and very friendly staff. I phoned my order thorough en route so didn't have to wait.

Visited on a Sunday evening. Six people including myself in the shop. The older woman who was serving managed to mix everyones orders up.I waited 30 mins for four meals. Not acceptable. Must stress that the food was excellent.My advice to management is to review the way you serve the customers. Writing things down etc.Also the older lady was incapleble and blamed the younger girl. Everyone in the shop knew it was older member of staff who messed up.She must go!!!

Ordered scampi and chips for lunch today. Not quite enough scampi for 2 portions so very helpful staff suggested other options. Had small fish together with scampi. Lovely! Cooked to order, fresh with crispy batter. Chips nice and golden. Overall a very nice takeaway lunch with friendly service from the staff. Will definitely be visiting here again!

Worst chippy ever. Ended up with food poisoning missed a charity fundraiser due to this. 3 days off work. Bad service asked for mini fish woman made a big show of saying that they are making fresh for me. Waited for 20 mins absolute rubbish. Should have walked out when on a Friday night it should be buzzing like good chippy's usually are....

Having waited for ages it was not worth the bother. Surely it is simple to cook fish and chips and serve them but the staff made an art of making the process as long and as frustrating as they could. They took your order wrote it down, took your money and then served you 10 minutes later - why?

Pop in here about once a month and the chips are cooked in a lighter oil which actually makes the chips taste better than other chippies. The fish is always light and the variety of meat based offerings is what you'd expect in other chippies, but taste like actual meat.
