Great place for a beer and catch up....been a few times and never disappoints

Absolutely fantastic pub! The Strawberry Duck has a brilliant atmosphere, friendly staff, and a great selection of drinks at reasonable prices. The decor is charming, with a mix of classic pub coziness and a welcoming modern touch. Wish there was a few more strawberries knocking about though. Plenty of ducks.

Attended a Christmas party here , first time ever for me . I will definitely go back. I was made to feel so welcome and my little son was totally spoilt at the party . We are very grateful. Thank you ! Never had food but will do next time

The landlord and Landlady are lovely people. Van has the most bubbly and happy personality. They have created the most welcoming and lively environment. A place to visit.

Excellent community pub with Good drinks, Sport Karaoke and live Music.

It's a back street boozer in a less than salubrious area, that said it has more going for it than a lot of other pubs. Its a larger place than most sat by the waterside canal, it's a lively, fun and well run place. The couple who run it are great, selling a good selection of beers at decent prices and it also has a brilliant function room.

I haven't had food so I can't comment. Friendly people.

The most friendliest pub around for miles..canal scenery watching the barges float by..loads of different activities..wouldn't drink anywhere else.. Vanessa and Andy are excellent hosts who always mingle x

Fantastic local pub with the best staff and landlord and landlady 😊 Put on a fantastic spread if requested when booking a party. They throw parties for for the kids throughout the year that includes good food and great entertainment. Perfect place for a cold pint on a sunny day with their canalside outdoor garden. Always got something going on whether it be karaoke night, quiz night or an entertainer. Relaxed during the daytime, unless its their monthly recycled teenagers party, which is aimed at people over 50 I believe and looks so much fun! They are the best pub around here in my opinion x

Lively afternoon with a good selection of beers

Lovely beer garden in an area with not a lot of natural beauty. This tranquil spot by the canal provides a welcome relief to the grey surroundings on a sunny afternoon.

Popped in for the first time, I was greeted by a lovely barmaid, who was very welcoming, and had a chat with a few locals, all very nice.

1st time in the Strawberry Duck tonight, what can I say but what a lovely welcome, this is a very friendly pub which is popular with the regulars, it has been knocked about a bit but it does retain a bit of its old character, there is a good range of beers, football on TV and a Dartboard in the corner, Cracking entertainment on a Saturday night. Definitely worth a visit. Cheryl & the other bar staff are lovely/funny and it's been a joy to meet them.

Superb , food was 👌, staff were 👌. Room was very clean and comfy . Would highly recommend 👍👍👍👍👍

ROBEY settling into his second home

Called in after remembering about it from a walk down the canal some years previously. Not disappointed. Lots of improvements have been made since I last visited. Lovely canalside garden, and enclosed partly covered garden added. Difficult to miss if you don't know the area. Reasonable selection of beer. Others in our group have said they will definitely visit on a nice day to sit canalside.

Really friendly, traditional pub. Just popped in whilst cycling. Bar staff were very helpful and respectful (there was a funeral function on), helping us secure our bikes. People in the pub were also very friendly. Nice outside space and good beer at a good price. Will definitely be returning!

Nice pint of pre-trophy lift Holts followed by a few San Miguels in the sunshine. Liked the cheesy 80s background music on my arrival. Nice canalside spot, with a suntrap of a garden (on the day I went).

Friendly and cosy pub. Location is a bit out the way, but nice setting by the canal (which would be nice to sit out during the day).

I would like to say a massive thank you to the guy in Asda Eastlands today, I was buying goods for the work demo I had done and my card wouldn’t work, this man who I suspect could be the landlord of the strawberry duck in Clayton offered to pay for my shopping what a lovely gesture it shows there are still genuine kind people out there. I sorted it and didn’t need his kind offer.Thank you so much x

Great friendly warm and cosy pub. Entertainment fantastic and friendly bar staff. Drinks are priced well and I felt very comfortable. Tge people i spok to and danced with were all so friendly abd just generally sound people. Id love to go back again. Toilets were very clean and has a great covered outdoor area for smokers. I had some buffet food, which was plentiful, hot and delicious 😋. I want to go back again soon.

Just moved to the area and thought I'd try out my new local pub last night. Wow, what a great night we had! The staff were super friendly and quick to serve so no waiting around. The DJ came on at 8pm playing great tunes. We couldn't stop dancing! Can't wait to come back again 🍻🦆

Families regular venue for post funeral get together. Foods decent, atmosphere is pretty relaxed. Typical friendly Manchester pub. Only 4 stars tho cos I can't really say I enjoy wakes. Still love my hometown tho.

Visited the Duck whilst my local pub was being renovated. Was looked after really well and the staff were very friendly. Will be using the more often in the future.

Always have a great time in here. Nice and quiet during the day, gets very busy in the evening. Nice biggish beer garden, huge room but with smaller rooms as well for pool etc.

There is a woman who works behind the bar very rude and I understand There is a rule of smart and casual but the way she approached it was rude and disrespectful this was our local but will not be going in again after the way we was treated by this bar lady the level of customer service this woman gives is awful the bar staff are brilliant but she is not 😢 don't drink the beer out the pumps makes you really ill

ive never even been there, but I met the landlady and her husband in town and they are the kind of people that make manchester the great city that it is and i will be visiting this place at the very next opportunity. all i have to say is to the people of Clayton, be ready to meet lee from Wythenshawe. if you dont go you never know, you know?.

Andy and Vanessa go above and beyond to welcome all there customers, so if you want to have a fun night out with plenty going on during the week.with darts quizzes line dancing. Also kareoke and live music on at the weekends fantastic atmosphere with fantastic people. Get yourselves in there with fantastic and friendly staff. By far the best pub around in my mind.

My sister and I discovered The Strawberry Duck through a friend Gail Spellman. You are the best pub we could ever imagine, Vanessa and Andy are brilliant, they organise lots of functions, do lots for charity. We love it ,although we live the other side of Manchester, in Northenden we make the journey once a week to do line dancing. We come on the last Thursday of the month to the Recycled Teenagers where we get a meal , karaoke, sing songs all for £3.00. Fabulous. I wish we had something closer to home like it but we don’t, but it doesn’t matter because we would still enjoy ourselves at the Strawberry Duck in Clayton. Well done Vanessa and Andy xxxx

This place is by far one of the best pubs in Manchester, brilliant staff, brilliant entertainment, brilliant atmosphere and all spearheaded by a fantastic landlord and landlady. If you're ever in the area, pop in for a drink or two, you'll receive a friendly welcome from all the great locals.

5 Star Landlord and Landlady who are surrounded by 5 Star Staff. Nothings too much trouble for them. I may be a little biased about the Duck but I've never been anywhere else that has so many outstanding talented Kareoke singers. (All regulars) Andy John's one-man shows are legendary. And the silky voiced Chris Heywood our Master of Ceremonies at the Monthly Recycled Teenagers Luncheon must be mentioned..he seems to remember everyone by name and their favourite songs. Last but not least the patrons. A great friendly crowd.. Always a welcome at the Duck.

The duck has been my "home" for over a decade now. Mainly on a Saturday night. The one thing I'll say is that no 2 nights are ever the same, however - equally as entertaining! Vanessa & Andy have worked tirelessly to look after their customers, particularly the older clientele and they are loved for it! (Rightly so) I challenge anyone to find a better pub in Manchester! (Sure there may be the odd better night somewhere else.. but for consistency, the duck is a winner!!)

The Strawberry Duck is a fantastic friendly pub with the best landlords, staff, customers and entertainment. I can honestly say I have never had a bad night in The Duck and always leave the place happy and safe thanks to the staff ensuring everybody gets into a taxi safely. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone aged 25-105!
