Great bar with a really cool vibe. Interesting selection of ales on tap and super cool tunes on the playlist all play into the chilled, relaxing vibe. Well thought out smoking area outside makes great use of the space and encourages chatting with others. Loved it 😍

This is the best bar in chorlton! The uk and possibly the world. Danny the manager once saved my Nan from a burning building, and Reagan saved my son by throwing himself in front of a car. A bar with the personal touch

Love it here, absolutely beautiful little boozer. Not only do they have the finest selection of beer from both the British Ans Irish isles but their continental lager selection is sublime. Great music with DJ and warm hospitable staff, what else do you need?

This place just gets better. Great new manager and a lovely team of attentive and friendly staff who really engage with the customers. The beers are really well selected and well looked after (the new pumps and lines have really moved it up a notch). The music is always spot on and the vinyl nights are great. NGL, the Beerhouse is a hard act to follow for beer purists, but this, for me, a very hard to please customer when it comes to great beer, is the only place in Chorlton that gives it a run for its money.

Nice hip little bar in Chorlton . Worth popping into . Seats available out side at the front and new management has opened it up a bit inside to moving some of the cubicles but have left a couple of cubicles if you want privacy. Don’t do food but you can get pizzas from next door and take them In with you. Great little bring your own vinyl night on Thursdays run by Mike Williams. Recommended .

Loved this bar. Martin Meerkat brought me here for my first ever visit. ( On a dark Autumn evening.) Surprisingly large interior that stretches on to the rear. Good selection of real ales. Started with a pint of Vocation brewery Heart & Soul. A session IPA. Followed by a Red Willow brewery Headless. The rest of the group were on bottles of wine. The covered, open seating area to front providing the smokers a refuge. Think I'll be back.

Went to Chorlton for a break with family following surgery. Seriously wished that we had checked out alternatives to this place before committing to a seat. We were expecting a real ale bar or micro pub looking at the exterior and various advertising outside but once inside, it was clear that the place had no identity, selling most of the common pump ales that you see in Weatherspoons with very few options for the craft beer fraternity. The sound system was clearly too big for the venue and perhaps more suited to a large club or small arena. You only begin to realise this when you’ve heard your third Lizzo song at 10000 decibels. Also, the music appeared to be a self indulgent, personal playlist as there was little variety, just the same chavvy 208bpm tunes with different lyrics. No opportunity to talk or converse or for that matter, even think!!! Went to the Chorlton tap afterwards…. Now there’s a pub that gets it right. Great beers and ciders, good atmosphere, nice background music and a nice ambiance My advice to Strange Brew is, get down to Cash Converters and trade in that PA for a smaller one, get some decent and varied compilation CDs and find some decent local breweries to supply your drinks. Better still, kick out the music altogether, clear the entrance of drunken, foul mouthed harpies and chavs or hire door staff to keep orde, then get CAMRA to inspect, promote and endorse you Your trying to be something you’re not and it’s not working. There’s so much scope and potential here but all you are is an overpriced Weatherspoons for people who’ve been kicked out of Weatherspoons or who are waiting for a table at one of the crowded restaurants over the road, which is how we found ourselves being in here. Don’t usually do reviews but felt I had to on this occasion as the place is that bad.

Went in for the first time at the weekend and won't be going back. Nice bar but the blonde haired lady was very unhelpful and abrupt. Had 1 drink and left

Love it in this quirky little place. The booths are great , even with loud music you can have a conversation. Real asset to the Chorlton vibe. The beer is so well kept .

Lovely staff, well priced drink and good vibes

Great bar with a laid-back, local vibe. Staff made us instantly feel welcome and had a great chat with them. Also they pour a great Guinness (see the photograph). Managed to chat to the landlord for a short time too and it's clear he cares about the vibe and the bar! Music is also great!

Strange Brew is fab for a cheeky G&T or a beer. They do a beer flight if you can't decide what to drink. Also on offer is a cheese board which will go perfect with a bottle of wine. Great mix of music too.

One of my favourite boozers in Chorlton, great selection of beer, let bring pizza from Double Zero and it's great on a night out when they have DJ's on a Saturday, if only it can stay open later!

Visited last week, done a reslly good job of making the dividers into cool booths. Table service worked well, attentive staff and happy to have a tab running vs multiple transactions

Reasonable selections of beers on tap, not very large and was very busy so was difficult to find a space. A place to go for the atmosphere and a drink, they fo not serve food.

Pretty irritated. Wandered in at 2pm on a Sunday. Didn't know they opened at 2pm. Blonde girl opened the door and immediately made us feel like an inconvenience. No conversation, no please or thank you. Won't be returning which is a shame.

Pick the right night and it's fab. Barstaff are great, friendly and helpful. Have some good beer too. Some not so good but you can avoid those by eating bloody lovely black pudding crisps ◉‿◉

Thus is a fantastic pub, friendly staff and the perfect atmosphere to relax with friends or colleagues. A great set of drink options and you can buy some snacks if you want to. I've been a few times and want to go much more. Also they allow dogs which is great.

Nice hipster pub with a chilled vibe. The covered seating area out the front is great for people watching and is on a lively street with plenty of nice restaurants. They do a large selection of gins and craft beers. No cocktails, however!

This was a good place to go for a pint with friendly staff, but the staff are not friendly anymore plus Guinness and other drinks have gone over priced. There is cheaper and better places to drink in the area

Strange Brew is a little gem of a bar in the heart of Chorlton! The atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The selection of beer on offer may not be the largest in Manchester, but it is refined and there are some fantastic beers on offer, especially if you are a fan of craft ale like myself. Well worth a visit!
