Stomping Grounds Cafe Burgess in Southwark

Not what you would call a cafe, general snake and pizza. Could of done so much more being next to a kids park

Called in just now with our 2 little ones and it was a really lovely place. Great vibe, friendly folks and good value on some delicious cakes and hot drinks.

Really tasty coffee!! Definitely some of the best in the area, and they've made the shop a really nice atmosphere. There's a lot of handmade little decorations, natural dog treats and gift-y stuff too. I didn't have the food, but seems like the kind of place that'll make a good sandwich.

Matcha latte was not very nice. Very little matcha. For £4.90 was disappointing.

Lovely coffee shop - lovely staff, comfortable space, gorgeous dogs, dog-friendly, vegan-friendly, great outdoor and indoor space, food and drinks are delicious.

Really like what they have done with this place. Feels relaxed and cosy and love the range of gifts, addition of alcohol etc. Only quibble I have is the 'no prams or buggies' sign you are greeted with on entering - a little explanation would help is it because of lack of space etc? Otherwise it can make people with buggies feel a bit unwelcome even when grabbing a takeaway. Given a nursery is just across the street it's not great vibes for potential customers who already might be feeling a bit lonely/vulnerable in early parenthood.

Cute shop but kind of really blasé service each time we pass by. What’s even more insulting is that we contribute with our coffee ground waste to the coffee grounds available for the community to take for use in their gardens. And the beer can prices are actually out of this world.

Very lovely atmosphere a great place to get out from all the noise and distractions inside your house and very tasty food. Also you get to see friendly birds and a beautiful garden around the back. Also nearly forgot, they sell nice items.

This place has changed so much over the last year. The staff working there is lovely and the place is soooooo nice and cosy

Laptop stolen by another customer. Charlotte who saw him on cctv theifing the laptop said he would never do this although seeing this.. V disappointing staff covering for a theif. Laptop was been seen in bag before leaving cafe, suddenly disappeared with no one but this customer behind. The fact that I asked when the manager would be in and was told by Charlotte, they do not know when the manager comes in, and this customer is a regular and would not do this, but expressions of shock on her face when watching the replay says it all. Loyalty to creating trustworthy atmosphere is key in business for all customer. A regular going straight in the toilet with his ruck sack knowing he has stolen a laptop out of another customer bag.. Just return it.. The police will locate it.. Covering for someone stealing other people property, just the same as him stealing. I am sure you would not appreciate anyone stealing from your cafe, regular or not

An absolute gem to have in the park, it's so nice being able to sit inside the cafe with your pup if the weather is not in your favour that day. Staff are always lovely and helpful and I love that there are an amazing selection of not just food and drinks but of goods as well.

The kind of place where time flies. We felt more comfortable than in our own garden There’s plenty of space for the kids to play with a massive playground next to it. Staff are very friendly.

Good local coffee, tosties and bagels

Love this cafe in Burgess park! Ridwan & Luke are such lovely guys. They make my visits there really enjoyable. They are fun and friendly and make the best coffees. I would prefer more vegan options with the food though…

People who came after me were served before me. I had to remind them, and they did apologise. But it was frustrating because it was not fast anyway, let alone having to stand there seeing everyone else being served. It happened to another gentleman before me, so this happening in a quick succession shows they have a problem.

So today I visited this cafe with my mum and the lady who was working ( white lady with light brown hair ) decided to purposely over charge us , I was charge £4.40 for a Carmel iced latte, a normal Carmel latte is £3.20 , then my mum went back in to grab a pastry ( I told her prior to her going in that I Belice I was over charged so she made sure to take a look at the pastry price before ordering ) the label I believe said something like £2.80 , when she ordered the pastry the lady took it upon herself to try discreetly turn the price around and proceeded to charge my mum £3.80, my mum obviously told her she saw the price prior and the lady then proceeded to charge her the original price. Honestly really disappointing

was convinced that there are no cafes in the burgess park area yet stumbled upon this one on a walk, unfortunately found it only during takeaway hours but got a a matcha and it was tasty. the interior was adorable so will definitely come back to sit in the cozy couches

Disappointing lattes. We had a standard latte and oat milk decaf latte. The cups were so small but coffee shot size still the same which meant the coffee tasted much stronger, and makes it taste less like a nice milky latte. Both the standard and oat decaf lattes did not taste nice. One could say the coffee was just too strong as there is not enough room for the milk, which is true, however there is a way to make this work with a smaller cup, but the espresso shot needs to be more balanced, which requires more skill and attention, as there is less milk to smooth out any imperfections. Sadly, we could have just gone on a bad day, but the coffee tasted really bitter and was just not enjoyable and we had already left before we noticed. Also the price charged was already at the top end for most lattes elsewhere, but much smaller. Could have been a bad day, as generally reviews seem good, but I did see a few other "bad day" reviews so maybe they are just not that consistent. Next time we might try Clubhouse Cafe on the other side of the park and see how that is. On a plus note, the cupcakes and muffins were very nice.

This place is incredible. It's like an oasis of peace that's a pleasant retreat from the absolute chaos of south London. Beautifully and lovingly decorated and run by friendly staff. Amazing.

Fin août je suis allée à plusieurs reprises, dans ce café donnant sur un parc, qui a ouvert en juin 2023. Le cadre est très sympa, le café est spacieux et le staff très agréable. En tant que Française, la qualité de la nourriture est importante pour moi (je suis exigeante) et là je n'ai pas été déçue ! J'ai testé le bagel saumon fumé et le roulé à la (vraie) saucisse en plus des brioches chocolat, des glaces et du carrot cake et les produits servis sont vraiment qualitatifs. Sans parler du café qui est très bon! Je vous conseille de découvrir ce lieu tout mignon et agréable !!!

Soo glad that they finally open their own cafe, after many years as a customer at southbank market it’s a please to be able to get their coffe 7days a week on the daily commute. Macchiato is second to none.

Best coffee ever! This is a must visit when in London. After tasting coffee from stomping grounds no other coffee can compare. I even get coffee beans from them. I love the coffee shop itself. It is cosy and has plants and it is dog friendly! Love it!

By FAR our favourite coffee place in London. The coffee is second to none, the staff are living icons of modern day folklore, and the cafe is growing organically as the earth beneath our feet. If you want mundane, stick to Starbucks. But if you really want to experience the Star ⭐ Bucks 💵, make sure you save this gem on your map 🗺️.

Lovely friendly staff that care about service, however I have put 1 star for atmosphere as I just want to enjoy a peaceful break time and not have to listen to the staff loudly discuss the details of the Christian cults they belong too.. You never know who your customers are and I was brought up in one of the Christian cults and had PTSD after I broke free.. It was awful listening to that paffle when I just wanted a relaxing break time...

Must gone on a bad day Competely flat latte served in a tea cup totally unsuitable to hold …Sandwiches all pre-made and seemingly impossible to take an ingredient out hard to move about with a wheelchair due to layout . Sausage roll cold and can’t heat up…. No wonder it was quiet on the day we attended

Great coffee and toastie. However you definitely need more than one person running the place.

Beautiful friendly staff and cafe, with children’s facilities just next door. Water fountains for the younger children to play just outside. Plenty room and tables outside. Chilled, welcoming vibe, cappuccino was creamy and smooth not bitter at all. They also have a loyalty card free 10th coffee. We pleasantly enjoyed our time here. Would recommend and return.

Very happy there’s new management at this cafe! The owners and their dogs were very friendly and they served me an amazing oat cappuccino! Very well priced! Highly recommend stopping here on your stroll through Burgess Park!!
