Best pub in Ipswich...with great music

Attended on a Saturday night to hear some live blues music in the pub garden, various places to sit amongst the flowers and plants. Very lovely place and very high standard modern toilets. Great variety of cold drinks.

Very relaxed and friendly place. Enjoyed sitting outside by the river.

Great venue for punk gigs, really welcoming and lovely staff

1st time visiting Ipswich to see a friend who recommended having a quick drink. Bar staff was welcoming, prices were decent and our beers/Guinness went down a treat. Will visit again next time I'm down.

Great live music, great ambience

A bit disappointing if I'm honest, beer wasn't good and the pub was freezing cold, it wasn't worth the walk from the town centre.

Went there yesterday to watch the Tyler Kemp Music band - very enjoyable afternoon and great fun - nice family friendly pub that welcomes dogs - staff very friendly and food yummy- hasnt got a car park so onstreet parking so if close enough best to walk or catch a bus - it's one of only a few 'real' pubs left now 😀

It really is a good place to go. The entertainment is great, everyone is so friendly, I like it here a lot. Staff are very welcoming and let me use the phone when I got lost with the dog. Thank you again xx

I drive for 3 hours to get here every Ipswich TFC home game. After that drive you need good beer, nice pub food and friendly staff. Steamboat Tavern has all of that on offer and is highly recommended.

Very fun staff, nice ambience. Chips are amazing. Buy 9 pints get 1 free on a stamp collecting card. Good music. Lovely outside the back specially when the sun is shining. Many happy days spent here

Very friendly pub with great pies. Good music too.

Went to a private party, so was in an area that only had a few regulars wander through to outside area but pleasant enough, friendly staff, good range of drinks available and some that were new to me. Food done by tavern for the party was really nice and good quality food. Parking in area not easy but not far from main town area, close to waterfront and on bus route. Possibly, good place to visit in summer for a welcome drink and rest.

The Staff are always friendly and lovely. There homemade soups are absolutely delicious. Also dog friendly, so a great place to pop into halfway through a dog walk! Xxx

Came for quiz night, first time at pub! Owners were friendly and welcoming. Really clean tidy pub. Hanging baskets out side lovely touch. Garden is worth a visit now weather better can't wait to pop back .

Popped in there for Sunday lunch with some of my family, who eat there every Sunday. Unfortunately they do not do a Sunday roast, but I had the chilli con carne which was very nice. Just the right amount of heat and portion size. The staff were very friendly and a jazz group turned up after we had eaten, so we stopped a while longer and enjoyed the music. It is an "old fashioned" pub with atmosphere and unspoilt by modern updates. It could have done with a little bit of tlc in places though. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit there.

Proper pub and fantastic atmosphere. Great selection of drinks and very well priced. Fantastic outdoor area and a fully entertaining and enjoyable night had by all listening to the superb live music by Albion Mills.

Nice pub, clean toilets and friendly staff but very unhappy with very regularly drink price increases...seems to be monthly! Now a bit too pricy, will visit much less..if at all. How can a basic pale ale be £4.75 and be told we have to charge more because 'we now have to use more water to properly wash glasses because of Covid'....NOT ON!

Lovely little pub on stoke quay with great atmosphere and friendly staff. I dare say they serve the best chips in town :)

I've always liked the Steamboat. A 'proper' old fashioned (in the best sense of the word) spit and sawdust pub which gets all the basics spot on. The beer is outstandingly good. The best pint I've had for over a year. I can't comment on the food but it looked good. The main thing for me was the brilliant service. The staff genuinely seem like a happy bunch who have a passion for what they do. Very friendly, helpful and efficient. What more do you need? Skip the large conglomerate owned Weverspoon type places and support a proper local.

Lovely place, staff are a delight and make you feel welcome. They have 2 covered areas outside and heaters. The outside seating area is spacious and very clean, They are also happy to have dogs in the pub and the staff were brilliant with the dog. Will definitely be going back
