The best fish and chips for miles!

Great food, service and excellent value for money.

Portions are smaller and in smaller boxes however prices are still high. Didn't mind paying more before but now portions are half the size I will try find somewhere else. Shame as I've used this for years.

New to the area so have tried this chippy twice now First time I waited so long to be served it was ridiculous My order was missed Very apologetic so I gave them another chance Today I went in for curry and chips wait was long again Chips tasted nice but I was lucky if I got a tablespoon of curry sauce Very overpriced £4.20 for a small portion Not sure if I’ll chance it again Disappointed

Remove the £5 minimum card spend, backwards thinking in the digital world.

I never realised there were so many millionaires in dudley, you need to be to eat from here. Without doubt the most expensive chip shop I've ever experienced for mediocre food. £4 for a pie is absolutely disgusting.

The good is really nice. Order directly from them instead of just eat as it is a good £3 cheaper

Ordered large fish and chips with mushy peas and scampi and chips cost £21.80 in total , fish was terrible really dry and no taste was suppose to be cod but was rubbish sure it had been sitting under the lamps for hours , the scampi was fine but the chips were vile tasted of stale cardboard ! Mushy peas were like water ! Used to rate this chippy but not anymore gone down hill fast

Absolutely gorgeous we travel a few miles to get them and we'll worth it. Fish is massive and so many chips

Staff are nice enough and friendly, and the premises clean... Shame that's where the good experience ends.... I just paid £8.20 after asking for a mini fish& chip special with mushy peas.. According to the price board a normal fish and chips is £7.50 ......Either that or what I got was regular fish and chip... Just very small portion that passes as a mini. Hahaha. I only go here when absolutely desperate as it doesn't represent good value for money, and each time I end up resenting how much I paid for basic quick takeaway food. Current prices .. Cone of chips - £2.00 Single scallop - £1.00 Small fish and chips with mushy pea. - £8.20 If you can travel a short distance there's better chippy s elsewhere... (Try netherton) The food may not leave a bad taste in the mouth... But the price will.

This "was" my favourite chippy, But, last night 14/4/23 Large Cod £7.60 awful, Fish dry, Batter Soggy in middle. Time to give up too expensive to throw away.

Weird writing this as 4 years ago I had the exact same meal if you look and gave it 4 stars saying how tasty the cod was, come now and it was dry and way over cooked not only that for the price it’s tiny! Like one thin strip Prices have risen and I know it’s hard times for us all but for just under £8.00 for large fish and the size of seemed very expensive but to have really dry over cooked fish on top of that Is not worth it, won’t be ordering here again shame as really liked the place but something has changed in those years not the place I remember! Cod chips and curry sauce just over £11.50 waste of money. Not sure on anything else this time. Maybe try the kebab but I will never eat this pricy fish again

Ordered 2 meduim fish large chips and 1 large sausage. They delivered it sausage missing I rang wasnt helpful at all wouldn't give us the sausage it was my daughters tea.Daylight robbers cost me 25 pounds. I shall never order from you again.

The chips here are the best I have had in a long time. They are a bit expensive but the quality and portions are worth it. They come in a box and they fill the box up.

Food is on point n the staff are really friendly and polite

The food is normally excellent. However, today, the service was not good!! If you are lucky to get served by one of the nicer and helpful girls then thats great. BUT if you get one of the miserable girls then your dinner is sure to be spoiled. No salt and vinegar offered or a bag given to keep your food hot as well as a nasty attitude to top it all. Too bad! THE ABOVE WAS WRITTEN 3 MONTHS AGO. Since my horrible experience with one member of Staff, I have now received an apology from the manager. Thank you for rectifying the situation.

I have been for a few years now but will not be going any further when I payed with my card and they over charged me for my fish chips and roe chips by by 3 pounds 40 I noticed it my on line banking were it said 13. 70 so went back to shop and showed them and the owner did not won't to know. I will not be going there again. So check what they charge you.. Unhappy customer..

Must be new owners 🙄 OMG worst chips ever un-cooked dry no taste that bad even the dog choked on 1. Battered sausage...well if that's what you call batter ...chewy rubber...and the roe well no words could describe that ...utterly disgusting food not even fit for sale....

Avoid avoid avoid Absolutely appalled with the price £7 for a supposedly large cod all batter hardly any fish in it then was charged £2.80 for chips to go with it 🤬 £2,80 for 1 tinned roe which looked like I had been cut with a cheese wire absolute daylight robbery rude ignorant staff will never use again !!!!!!

Overall a good chippy, it does get busy on friday and saturday evenings (what chippy doesn’t?)

Called at starfish chippy tonight for 2 wraps and chicken burger, ordered food and stood to one side as you do, then they proceeded to serve about 8 deliveroo etc...finally had enough of waiting and told them that I was still waiting for my order which they then did, got it home and it was barely warm.each time I've been there lately they're more interested in serving online orders than the customer's in shop, as I left the que was out the door, Mr p's for me in future...

When you pay extra for a chicken breast portion and get home and open up to find a chicken thigh 😲 You got back the following week for your weekend treat, tell staff politely about their mistake and they totally ignore your complaint..no apology no acknowledgement 😔 Not the first time... Overpriced and disappointing... I use them as they are on my doorstep.. won't be going back.. customer service lacking... Robotic staff with no personality.. just saying

I can say that this chip shop for me is the best chip shop in the westmidlands and I have been to many food not greasey taste good in shop very clean staff always friendly it's really is worth the extra money I have told many of my family and friends

Used to be lovely food from here but recently it's terrible. The lamb kebab is extremely salty compared to other places, to the point that you can't even taste the lamb.The chips have been hard and dry too, me and the family ended up leaving most of our food.Also when you have food delivered from here there's no tamper proof seal...

Great chippy, the fish was fantastic and good size too, small chips is huge and their curry sauce and mushy peas were lovely.

Placed an order for delivery due to not being able to collect as i have two toddlers at home with no car. Delivery arrived with my toddlers food missing, i got told by the staff that we would need to speak to Deliveroo even though its the stores error and not Deliveroo. Ive been a regular customer for the passed 7 years and now I will be using another chip shop with better customer service.I expected Starfish to take ownership of the problem rather than directing me elsewhere. I'm now having to reorder so my kids probably won't eat for another hour & my food from starfish is now cold. Great customer service thank you starfish.

Saturday night just thought I try this place out. Food is fresh and decent. Portions are ok but could be better. Staff...ok well it’s probably the masks which don’t help when ordering. Quality fish and chips that tasted and looked cooked in clean oil. Yes I would recommend, this is my new local from now on.

Don't know what has happened, but the quality of food has gone right down. The mix meat and chips ordered was terrible chicken meat was sloppy and cold donner was ok but could only really eat the chips. Won't be coming here again.

First time we have tried this dish shop. And it will be the last.had fish and chips. The chips were soggy and the fish was so dry and the batter was so hard it would have broke your teeth. Well you live and learn

Nice food however lately, the portion sizes are getting smaller and the cost is rising. I don't use starfish anymore as I don't find it cost effective.

I would not eat from here, i had food from herw chips were nasty some the potatoe was hard i also had salad and it was all soggy also scolops were rock hard and vile kids meals were nasty none of us have eat the food its all gone in the bin and the prices are a joke for thr price you expect nice food waste of my money not happy i am going to complain and ask for my money back

My local chip shop, you can not go wrong with this chippy! Nothing wrong with portion sizes at all, I have used here since it opened and always been more than pleased.

Just popped in to get a quick special of roe and chips, but tonight was the last time I will get food from there the chips where raw had to search through food to get the best ones sadly there was only about 6 chips to eat, roe was ok but the quality of the food as gone down hill for some time now not like the great food you had when it was first opened as it changed owners if so that explains it, I see now why my family don't go the anymore so from now on its portway chippy for me...😡

I always use this chippy and never go wrong. Fresh food, busy shop, nice kebabs and kebab portions is huge worth every penny.

Very clean place and friendly approach. Examining the price board it is more expensive than your average fish and chip shop but the fish was really fresh and still crispy once I drove about ten minutes home... back to the price..... the portions are huge which explains it. I could of easily shared the chips with my son from his meal and the mixed kebab burger comes with 2 different types of chicken and lamb dinner that actually tastes of lamb giving it the quality. But no way can you pick it up in one. I had to take half off and still couldnt eat it all.

Love this chippy! the food is amazing you get big portions too so you get plenty for what you pay! It’s spotless it’s the cleanest chip shop I’ve ever seen! the staff are really friendly too. 👍🏼

Travelled here specially to get some nice fish as I'd heard good reports. It's a shame I won't ever taste it after tonight as they closed before there advertised time. So that's another Customer theyll never get back. 0 stars are not an option, begrudgingly have to leave 1

Foods good seems a little expensive . And the service last week was shocking a young Asian lady served me and was very rude and got the order wrong the other staff all seem fine

While expensive the food is good and the large portions are a good size though I do feel that the specials are a little small also the lack of a delivery service really does hinder.

Lovley food but a bit pricey for a chippy i think . Can get the same standard of food around this area for a lot less . Paying for the novelty box i think ,just put it paper and cut the price !

This has got to be the cleanest chippy in the area.. Very professionally laid out and the staff are smartly dressed and organised. I had sausage and chips with my kids and they loved them..... With this comment I may get free chips lol🍟

I had it once and really enjoyed it , I came again about 9.20 and they didn’t have any battered fish all the fryers where turned of and I’m really sure they close at 10pm they wasn’t very nice , they just wanted to go home so I had to go Dudley port chip shop wasn’t really happy with the service.

Hands down one of the best chip shops around. Very clean, friendly staff and top notch food. Only problem is sometimes the queue is out of the door. Either way highly recommend.

Visited this fish shop with my niece ellie who has autism she wanted chicken kebab but I'd ordered meat kebab and ellie being ellie threw a tantrum but the very kind assistance put some chicken kebab in and gave her the meal free of charge . Thank you so much you dont know what it meant to me , i was looking after ellie because her mother has cancer and ellie had played me up all morning so many thanks xx

First time here tonight as our usual chippy has gone down hill . We all had food from the specials menu. Food was great , served in a box and excellent value for money. Our new chip shop if choice..

When it opened it was really nice and I was a regular customer. A while ago everything changed and the food now gets served in a card box. It just doesn't trust nice anymore
