Star Penkridge in South Staffordshire

Best pub in penkridge by far for the atmosphere and great staff. Our regular after work and weekend choice. Plenty of choice, cobs, sausage rolls and Scotch eggs to die for. Had our Christmas doo here and all staff had a great time, the music was great and not too loud for my aging ears 😂.

What a little gem! Only lived down the road for 20 years !!,passed it enough times this time we popped in !,nice staff friendly place we will be back ( didn't have any food)

Cheese sandwiches are huge, all the cask beer is kept incredibly well. Shaun Harrington played and was amazing. Best pub in penkridge, probably Staffordshire!

Tuesday evening 7pm pubs full, lads are playing domino's, we've gad a bottle of processo sausage roll & scotch eggs .... bostin!!

Not just a garden centre! The food is freshly made and delicious. We had quiche and salad. Huge portions of homemade deliciousness. Excellent and well priced. Would return just for the food.

No dogs, no food other than scotch eggs. All the kids running around were more annoying than any dogs. Won't be returning

Not surprising they bagged Pub of the Year, best pub I've known. Attentive, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Great live music and yummy snacks. Ally goes above and beyond to take care of her punters. It was the best place for a big birthday bash. Love it.

This is a great pub. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere and a great outside space. The landlady is constantly looking for ways to keep her customers happy. Live music, the best scotch eggs and sausage rolls ever, fish and chip friday's are just a few of the great things you'll find here.

Ally and team always please with guest artists hog roasts pizza nights and a regular free cheese board .home made scotch eggs crusty cobs and a friendly welcome from all the staff. They go beyond . Great service and atmoshere .

I always enjoy a drink in the star. Only down side cam be its become a victim of its own success at times and is completely packed. But I don't hold that against them 😀

Ally provided the buffet for our sons18th birthday party. It was amazing and everyone enjoyed it! Definitely recommend!

First time today the landlady was getting the fire going very pleasant to chat to beer was very good and a good choice of real ales not tried the food but will return to do so very pleasant experience.

We come here regularly and love it. Ally and the team are fab! We love the Sunday live music under the gazebo, the kids ways love this. We didn't manage much over Christmas but did come christmas eve and enjoy the best bar snacks! Scotcheggs and sausage rolls 🤍 Here's to 2024!

Best pub in Penkridge (by far!). Awesome home made bar snacks. The Scotch Eggs are to die for! Friendly staff and atmosphere. Great covered outdoor area (with heaters). Daisy the dog loves it.

Having lived in Penkridge for 30 years of my life I have seen the Star and the village change over that time. I can say that currently the Star seems to me to be warm, vibrant and welcoming, the music on a Sunday is great and let’s hope the cheese cobs stay forever, well fresh ones obviously 😂

It doesn't matter what time of day you visit The Star. You are always made very welcome. Excellent service from all staff, the special events and entertainment nights are just the best. Highly Recommend a visit.

What a lovely welcoming pub. Such a friendly place. Staff are so polite and very pleasant and very knowledgable about their ales 🍺 We were made to feel like a local by staff and locals. We will visit again whe we are next in the area. Luved it. ❤️

Bar lady is rude and stuck up makes you feel not welcome there but will happily entertain men drinking at the bar shouldn’t be working in a pub if that’s your attitude..

Great pub, very friendly and a really good selection of beers. Excellent bar snacks especially the scotch eggs which are a must try. whether its sitting next to the roaring fire with a pint in the winter or sitting outside listening to one of their many live music acts in the summer. Well worth a visit!!

What an amazing establishment!! Extremely well ran, with friendly and attentive staff..... The beers are very well kept and the home produced scotch eggs and sausage rolls, and cobs etc are superb!! I highly recommend this pub for its quality and great atmosphere throughout.

A wonderful village pub, friendly, comfortable and situated in the middle of the village, there was a free cheese board and some free snacks to accompany your drinks…. Well worth a visit

A great stop on our first Penkridge pub crawl! Nice outdoor area to the side and front, with music playing. Bar area was spacious and staff member was nice and friendly. Can recommend highly!

Only had coffee but very nice. Will have a meal next time.

Seems like a locals pub and although we aren't locals it was very welcoming and had a lovely ambience to it. The bar man was very friendly and chatty. They even brought out sausage rolls and pork pies for everyone to help themselves.. (I'm a veggie so not good for me but a nice touch). Will definitely return.

Popped in the star 11th November evening around 6.30 after standing at the bar for ages a guy pushed through dropped his money on the bar said to the barmade with blonde hair what beer he wanted he went toilet while she poured his pint before even asking me .so sorry are party walked out . Looks a nice pub but service is terrible.I popped down road to the black country ales pub that was just as busy and served straight away and we all just had a delicious cob

When you arrive you'll always be greeted by a warm friendly atmosphere, excellent staff and great entertainment on Sunday afternoons. The Star is located right in the heart of Penkridge and they have the best crusty cobs, scotch eggs and pork pies around.

Ally and the team at the Star are brilliant. The events they put on are top tier, the scotch eggs (especially the chilli) are world class - I buy them In bulk each Christmas! It’s a friendly, homely, lovely pub with such a great atmosphere. Looking forward to the colder months so I can sit by the log fire! Plus the way they transformed the outside with the stretch tent was genius.
