Asked for kebab might aswell just gave me a pan off fat and for the chips we asked for well done got a Sogy pile off mess we use this chippy regularly but honestly after tonight never again..

Terrible food, all of it. Pizza, chicken, burger and fries. All terrible. Never been great but used to be ok so instead of improving, it’s deteriorated even further.

Best kebabs for miles n miles. We drive past at least 5 kebab/fish n chip/pizza places to get our kebab takeaways from here. Massive portions so be warned, really tasty, good value and a clean environment. Staff are polite and asked our Preferences with salad n sauces. Give them a go, you will not be disappointed and I’m sure will return for years.

Star Kebab Holmewood make amazing pizza! You can order on their website or by phone and they offer collection or delivery. Kebabs from here are also really good and their Value Box with fried chicken, kebab meat, salad and chips or fries is really good value. Thanks guys!

Found multiple black hairs in my food. Service was awful, taking over an hour to arrive. Furthermore I am very unimpressed with this and I will never be ordering again.

Terrible attitude, hygiene and food. The chips were soggy, the chicken was still clucking and the one of the boxes had multiple black hair in when we all have ginger/ blonde hair. We had to call up once to ask when they food was on the way since it took an hour and 20 minutes and then had to call up again to complain about the hair in our food. They had a terrible attitude with us sarcastically calling us darling, saying no one had black hair and to come down and check for ourselves.

I've ordered from the star now for 3 months or so,Their always pleasant and helpful on the phone when I order.Best tasting food in this area ,big portions for price and food is always hot when it arrives.

Used to love ordering from the star having it every weekend orderd tonight chicken was dry had some other night what was so nice so orderd again tonight tasted like it had been left there all day orderd a large gravy got curry instead garlic bread and cheese was very tough like they left it in to long

Order in shop, via telephone or online. *UPDATE SEPTEMER 6 2018* My order had onions despite selecting NO onions, the drink was missing. The fries were so hard!! Not fresh and possibly refried at least 3 times.... Very disappointed... Prices going up, standards going down... They now charge for delivery, service charge and a card fee (though this was always charged for, the 1st 2 are new additional charges) This might be my last time ordering... It's not the first time this has happened either. But when you wait 1hr +, then have to call and wait another hour for a replacement, complaining becomes pointless!!! *

Ordered kebab share box. Had a few bites before going for a piece of garlic bread. 2 bites in had to spit it out. Way too much garlic used on it. Made me sick it was that strong. Garlic bread with cheese for kids had clove left in the base.

Very disappointed Garlic bread was stale Pizza was cold .& stale .

Ordered Doner here today. It was delicious and proper amount. Got salad with it which was fresh made of various kinds of vegetables. Where I live they should be ashamed comparing to what can I get Star Kebab. Well done boys 👏

Waiting 25 minutes for fish n chips and it was undercooked. I think the guy forgot to put my fish in when i ordered it. Absolutely disgusting food and service. Will never use them again as theres another kebab house, a chinese and an indian within a 2 minute walk of this once decent chippy/kebab house. Didnt bother complaining directly to them cause going by what other customers say, it doesnt get you anywhere.

Food wasn’t great at all, first they got the order wrong and when we rang up to say we spoke to a young woman who questioned my partner and made out like he was lying! The owner (I presume) then rang us back and said he looked at the ‘camera’ and seen 2 bags go out, which was one with 2 drinks and another with the wrong food! Then to make it worse the donner meat was burnt and old, and the battered sausage was over cooked and must’ve been old as it look like it been cooked too many times over!!! £18 wasted!!!

Absolutely disgusted in the customer service. To start with when ordering we kept being put on hold, waited over an hour for food even though we live round the corner. When we received our food half was missing including the kids pizza and was cold of what we did get. Rang up to tell them our food was missed told us it would be 20 mins max, 1 hour and 18 mins later we received the rest of our food which yet again made shocking and cold. We’ve never once had a good meal or experience with this place but kept putting it down to being a bad/busy night but after the 3rd time it’s disappointing. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. Never once had an apology or offered a refund or a freebie clearly do not care for the costumer service.

I used to love this place,but now my mind has changed.Food was cold, not only cold but the lettuce was moldy. do not come here unless u want to be bent over a toilet for the rest of your life!!!🤢🤢🤢☹️

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE spent alot of money,the kebab was white after I asked for it to be brown the fish stunk rotten aswell as the fish cake, when I rang to complain he said I was wrong and the food was cooked and was very rude towards me on the phone, also said you can have £10 refund instead of the full amount how disgusting WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!

Having used this kebab house before saying it was great, tonight was garbage, delivered donar kebab no pitta bread no sauce cold basically avoid this place if you want delivery, my mrs asked for the vegetarian option, very poor quality, will never use again, came from a good source, but rubbish! Don't bother! 😠

Lovely polite and helpful staff. After a short wait, my food was ready. It was still piping hot when I arrived home. Really large portions of chips and a kebab with salad. It was very tasty. I enjoyed my meal very much. I would recommend this place to anyone and will certainly patronise this place again.

Usually very good and nice food but tonight it's been 2 hours since delivery was ordered spoke after an hour told me 20 minutes!!!

Used star many times over the last 15 years, last few times gone so downhill but keep hopeing will return to good, but no. Ordered take away, due for delivery 8.30, by 9.45 ringing and ringing, no answer, by 9.15 resorted to eggs on toadt, then phone call 9.30, an hour late, to say driver outside, but gate locked, no it wasn't but sliding a bolt to complicated!!! Surprised when told to take food away as your late. Previous take away was cold in delivery, this was last chance, looking at other reviews how are they still in businesz, such as shame, fortunatelt, this time, not paid by card so no money lost

Shocking food pre ordered for us to go back the girl did the order knowing there was no mushy peas left sat waiting nearly half hour for peas what was missing from the fish meal got home food was cold chip's was hard peas also cold to say they supposed to have cooked them had complaint about the fish it's was awful cold nothing seemed fresh think this chip shop needs a good inspection you pay alot of money for food for it just to be cold and horrible.

Absolute rubbish.Them peas made me sit on the bog for weeks on end. Despite this staff were lovely as one of them had a nice accent however I wouldn’t recommend as the peas we’re rancid

Waste of time ordering from these don't listen to you at all you order something you want to be told there will be some in 20 minutes to going back for your order to be told we haven't done your order because there's none why waste people time traveling it's like talking to a chocolate fireguard especially speaking to him that alway's seems to run to counter when you walk in he's the ones that never seems to listen to your order an answer phone when doing a order no wonder orders are cold an like the other one that knew our order was ready but put it on top of chicken warmer till the lass came out for her to give it us to get home it's cold and missed things a couple of times aswell they don't check people orders at all Bring all old staff back like (addi) ect only decent one in there is the lass that alway's smile's

Ordered 2 mega burgers (£5 each) when received burgers are dripping with grease, literally not 1 piece of salad just 3 greasy burgers with 2 slices of Premier store cheese! The grass outside would be more appealing! #BARF #DONTRECOMMEND Regret driving past mcdonald's now 😭

The food is absolutely disgusting how health and safety, food and hygiene haven't been involved I'll never know. The food is either to hard burnt or not cooked and staff are Ill mannered and rude if a complaint is made. I think they should send immigration there to for illegal workers. We want what we pay for and that's edible food.

It's sad on how bad this place as gone down hill recently , over 1 and half hours for delivery and cold when arrived last week , so decided to go to shop this time ordered at 8.03pm still sat waiting in shop at 8.55pm only ordered a value box and mixed kebab no 1 else In either 😡 .

Ordered a valve box £5.20 !a small chicken kebab £5.20 and a small kebab meat on its own apparently £5.20 for that as well, very poor customer service as dis not agree that a small kebab meat on its own Is the same as the price of a value box which inluces kebab meat chips and salad

Great place loads of chips, good quality not bad on price, not had the chicken 🐔 but the Dona kebab 🥙 are really good. All in all not a place to drive by.

Decided to give this place a try and it was the worst takeaway Iv ever eaten, well didn’t eat it was thrown away. Cold bitty doner meat dripping with fat. Old dry cold chips! It was totally disgusting. They clearly take no pride in what they do. Don’t waste your money !

Ordered a mixed chicken kebab what arrived i have no idea what meat it was i can only say it was cross between slimy chicken / turkey carcass devoid of any taste hard to tell what it was .only place it was fit for was the bin the chips arrived overcooked and cold ,avoid disappointment and by elsewhere.

Was 5 star, but quality differed the last couple of times.

Orded food this evening and it was like slop. all cold chips must have been cooked this morning. Kebabs were thrown together. Fish and chips all stuck together. Not what we pay good money for.

My partner has heart disease and stood out side in the snow waiting on our order which we ordered over an hour ago and they have phoned up saying they are lost twice it's stupid it's so cold out there and now food so cold not happy avoid avoid and phoning them they dont help you at all go to pizza rella it's better everything avoid

I wouldn’t even give 1 star!! When the food eventually turned up it was freezing cold so we sent it back and they wouldn’t redo the order! This was after ordering it 2 hours previous. Said it would be 1 hour then was told 3 times when we rang up that it was on the way.

Ordered a Pizza last week for delivery at 6pm. It was delivered at 4.45 by a guy who, when i told him it was not wanted until 6pm and to take it back, he claimed not to understand any English. I tried phoning the shop (14 times) to complain but no reply at all. Was redelivered at 6..totally inedible. So chewy and crust was rock hard. Obviously had been reheated in microwave! Today I ordered Mini Fish Special with peas and curry sauce and a Garlic Bread. For delivery at 6pm...the same guy delivered again at 4.50!!! I again told him it was not needed until 6pm and yet again he pretended not to understand! I rang the shop, told the young lady what had happened. Told her i did not want it reheated. 6pm redelivered.. By a young guy who understood everything i said. Opened the food... Yuk! Batter was burnt and the fishcake was black. Chips were chewy. All had been reheated... Again. Phoned the shop again. Young lady put the 'boss' on... He was rude, talking over me. Giving me all excuses.. Yelling at me that it hadn't been reheated.. YES IT HAD!!!!!! The Food was disgusting and inedible!!!!!

Worst takeaway ive ever used, I ordered a large donner in nann I got a tray full of tasteless meat covered in sauce to give taste and a pitta bread uncut. When i phoned to complain the member of staff asked me to hold on and went on to insult me to his colleagues, when he had finished he came back and gave me a load of rubbish excuses, i thanked him and put the phone down.

They used to be the best pizza place in Chesterfield, but the last 3 / 4 weeks the pizza’s have been under cooked & soggy. When you mention it or complain all you get is “oops sorry” not really good enough Star !!! As we only ever call on a Sunday, and they don’t even deliver to our area, have to go out and fetch it,we’ll be giving them a miss for a few weeks. Didn’t call last week & won’t be calling this week, or next. Will be giving them a break for at least 3 months and trying somewhere else, then maybe try them again, & see if they’ve improved any. If not, we won’t be going back.

Ordered Doner kebab ...consisted of bits of chopped (pre-chewed) chicken no kebab meat ,two floppy slices of tomato and two miserable bits of cucumber. Also chicken burger not bad,chips and cheese and portion of chips. Everything cold had to reheat,ordered everything on app took hour and ten mins to arrive. To say I'm disgusted is an understatement. Will NOT be eating from there again.

Food finally arrived 2 hours after ordering (told within the hour) on a Monday warm if not cold... rang multiple times for eta on time of delivery told 10 mins each time. Yet again ordered online and made comments to preference to meals and they didn't follow it and the food arrived cold and lamb meat was still pink which is not to everyone's preference think we will be using somewhere else in the future over £15 wasted had toast instead
