Stage door steakhouse in Wandsworth

Disappointed, we use to go to the stage door 20 plus years ago when the elderly couple owner the restaurant and it was beautiful, we have very good memories of the service snd food. Last night the food was disappointing, the sauté potato’s were greasy and my husband T- bone streak that he requested medium well was very rare. The service was slow.

We found this lovely (understated) restaurant. I think last year when we came to Wimbledon, we walked straight past it but I’m glad that this year we went in. Fantastic service, really good, fresh, tasty Greek food and all at a reasonable price.

Was looking for a place to eat before going out found this little gem 👌🏼 The waiter who was seating and serving was very friendly and welcoming , Food arrived hot and tasty, definitely worth a visit if you are in Wimbledon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had beautiful food, hot, flavoursome, excellent portion size, great service, value for money. The staff were friendly and very helpful and I felt safe to eat here with a serious food allergy. We had Calamari, Chicken, Salmon, Tiramisu and Lemon cheesecake. We would come again if in the area and definitely recommend.

We stumbled on the restaurant while spending Valentines Day in Wimbledon. The place had a real friendly buzz to it. Would defo return. The people on the next table were going to the theatre and recommended the tiramisu (with 2 spoons as so big ) but after our share starter of garlic prawns followed by kleftico for my partner and moussaka for me - we had no room. Attention to detail was great as I asked for no cucumber in the salad and so many places don’t follow this request. The restaurant is family run and great. We will be back. 👍

Have just had a meal here and we were sadly so disappointed. Service was very slow and we felt forgotten about. Starters came and then they offered us lovely olive bread with butter with sarsons vinegar(!) and olive oil and then literally served our mains! Main course both Greek specialities, Kleftico and Souvlaki- not at all authentic! Kleftico looked like a frozen lamb shank with. a watery stock like oxo cube - not rich lamb falling off the bone after slow cooking- as it should be. Didn’t bother with desert as so uninspiring. We will not be hurrying back. The house red was ok. A few tweaks and some proper authentic , properly cooked Greek food would make this lovely. Considering this restaurant markets itself as a Greek restaurant- it is basic not rustic and don’t bother! Very disappointed! Also waited 15 minutes for our bill and not once did they check to see if we were enjoying our meal.

Fabulous service and food and very reasonable. The staff were lovely and very welcoming even though we hadn't booked a table (we will definitely book in advance next time). The post and pre theatre crowd were all buzzing and the restaurant heightened that aura of specialness. Hot, authentic Greek food - could almost feel the breeze from the Aegean!

Would highly recommend this friendly family run restaurant. We ate whitebait, lovely olive bread balsamic vinegar and olive oil then Souvlaki of pork and Chicken with beautiful Greek salad rice and sauté potatoes. All delicious, will not pass by if I’m Wimbledon again.

This is a little gem of a place. It should be much more popular than it seems to be - possibly as it’s 100 yards away from the centre. The owner is polite friendly efficient and obliging, he also seems proud of what they do and what they deliver. We had a selection of dips and pita to start all great but the taramasalata in particular was brilliant. Two main courses of fillet steak and one salmon - both steaks one rare one medium rare cooked perfectly and as good a steak as I’ve had . The wife enjoyed her salmon too - the sautéed potatoes were lovely- we finished with a large shared baclava which again was great. We were visiting for the tennis from Liverpool - cost wise it was really good , I don’t think it would have cost much less back “up-north”. Oh the house red was decent too.

My wife and I decided to try ‘ Stage Door ‘prior to going to the theatre, this was so convenient as the theatre was just across the road. We had booked a early table as to relax and enjoy our time before the show started. We were greeted by a friendly face and had a choice of tables to sit at ( as we were the first customers through the door ). We were given the menus to choose our food and were not rushed into ordering and having some polite conversation with our host. We both decided to try the Greek dishes that were on offer, my wife opting for the pork souvlaki and myself the lamb kelftiko both dishes were of excellent standard. We followed this with both having the Tiramisu which was to die for. Finished with coffee and a excellent meal to remember. Will certainly return the next time we are attending the theatre

I called the night before and was lucky enough to get the last table as my self and three friends were going to the theatre opposite to see blood brothers. We arrived at restaurant so friendly and welcoming our waitress was lovely really helpful and chatty. We ordered starters main wine and liquor coffees I can honestly say that the food was excellent and service 1st class a clearly very well run restaurant and kirchen even though it was busy everything came out on time hot and great tasting and presentation fab Cannot recommend. We enjoyed a family meal after the theatre in Wimbledon. I was impressed by the friendly welcoming service and the atmosphere was happy. We were warm and comfortable. I liked the Mediterranean flavours in the food, service and decor - a good contract to dreary London Winter. My dinner was tasty and fresh, home-made touches from a cook who was bothered to make a pleasing dish. We were served quickly and food came out in good time but we were not rushed through. There were plenty other people but it was not too noisy. Good value and I liked the table wine too. Plenty of choice for everyone on the menu. Thank you to the staff who were attentively looking after us.

Reservamos aquí hace un mes, para un domingo antes de visitar el Teatro para Panto ( Su frente al Wimbledon Theatre) tras una recomendación de amigos. El propietario nos explicó que no abre los domingos pero nos preguntó cómo muchos para y abrieron especialmente para nuestra mesa de 12.

Fuimos para una ponerse al día con un amigo y me quedé impresionado por la calidad de la carne y la verdadera hospitalidad de la familia. Si estás en la zona de Wimbledon olvídate de los innumerables restaurantes de cadena, vienen aquí, coge una botella del vino un precio muy razonable, sentarse y disfrutar de una tarde relajada con algo de comida encantadora. Los anfitriones se pop y hora estás bien, y saben lo que están haciendo, han estado corriendo el lugar desde 1959. Es una joya, disfrutar.

Llevamos a nuestra suegra. aquí como un regalo porque ella estaba de visita en Londres por primera vez. Después de mucha deliberación entre otros lugares nos instalamos en el escenario. Mi novio y yo visitamos este restaurante ahora y otra vez, y nos encanta! Mi novio siempre pedidos bistec, parece que es delicioso y gustos. y me dan un plato tradicional griega, increíble. Me encanta la comida, muy sabroso. tendemos a visitar en ocasiones especiales, que siempre ha sido agradable y seguiré volviendo. El personal de este restaurante familiar están siempre atentos y muy amables.

Hemos visitado la Stage Door en muchas ocasiones y la comida y el servicio siempre bueno. todo el personal es muy atento sin ser en su hombro tan pronto como se han puesto su tenedor. La única vez que necesitas reservar (así que hemos encontrado) es si el teatro está corriendo, entonces se llena, de lo contrario no hemos tenido que luchar por una mesa. Los filetes son buenas pero bastante caro, la comida griega excelente. volveremos muy pronto!

Un lugar acogedor dirigido por una familia con un menú equilibrado de carnes o muy bien hecho comida griega. nos hemos estado varias veces a lo largo de los años y siempre hemos sido impresionado y satisfecho. Naturalmente, es también muy conveniente para el New Wimbledon Theatre. Es sin duda mucho más de la experiencia de ir a una cadena cercana lugar como Pizza Express o hamburguesa gourmet cocina. Espero que una excusa para volver!

I no longer live in Wimbledon and this place is the thing I miss the most! The staff are fantastic and the food is amazing. Would highly recommend the mousakka and greek salad, they also do extremely good steak.
