St Anne's fish and chip restaurant in East Lindsey

I was very surprised to see gluten free battered sausage and fish on the menu. And gluten free chips! It’s rare I get to eat at a chip shop and this was a great find on my holiday here. The staff were extremely kind and you can tell the place is well run.

Firstly the online ordering is really confusing. I clicked on small haddock and chips but then had to tick cod or haddock, chips, and a second box for cod or haddock. I wasn't sure what i may end up with so I cancelled and opted for the separate small haddock twice and a large portion of chips. I could add salt and vinegar to the fish, but i could only choose either salt or vinegar for the chips. I chose vinegar, but there was neither salt or vinegar on anything when it came. I was told 45 minutes for delivery. It was half an hour late and barely lukewarm. The driver had been given too many deliveries together and we were last. As well as being cold, the batter was thick, chewy and very greasy. Very disappointing. We won't be ordering from here again. We only ordered because our usual chippy doesn't deliver and I had been too unwell to leave the house for a collection. I'll open a tin of soup next time. Definitely not worth the money, and barely edible.

Cold soggy southern fried potatoes disgusting. Overcooked dry chicken. Won't use them again

Food was cooked fresh upon ordering and was really tasty. Decent portions and reasonably priced - we paid £55 to feed our family of 5 including drinks. Seating available indoors and outdoors - outdoor tables could've done with a wipe down as they were covered in salt but great other than that and we'd definitely return.

On Friday food was nice hot and fresh Tonight's kebab said no onion had onion not fresh chips and burnt chicken all delivered cold would have been 5 stars if it had been the same as I got on Friday as we're regular customers. Chips undercooked . Staff was nice

Potatoes were half rotten and chips had been kept warm. Floor and counter were filthy. Owners kids riding scooters in the street and then through the find prep area. This used to be a good chippy but is now a health hazard. Avoid like the plague. There are plenty of others to choose from.

Early bird so quiet when we arrived. GF fish kept separate; no milk in batter (dairy free). Kids tv was on to keep them amused. All food freshly cooked.

Had a delivery driver was lovely and food was delicious 100% calling back soon

Service was a bit slow, but they had just opened. Server put the signs out but didn't wash his hands afterwards.

Beautiful gluten free fish and chips. Best I have had! Only thing that lets it down when eating in is the boozy pub next door and don’t have high chairs for little ones. Food more than made up for these little points

Website said it was open from 12 to 9 got there at 2:00 and told they weren't open till 4:00 what are wasted trip

Beyond grim and the hygiene of the bloke serving was unreal he wiped his nose then picked up food disgusting.

Very friendly great chips & mushy peas, But the fish 🐟 is not the best maybe frozen fish a bit of water and not must flavour.

Fantastic chippy, and loved the old school banter between staff and regulars.

In the area again soon and will 100% be visiting this establishment. Can’t fault the fish and chips and serving gluten free is a big plus if you are Coeliac

The chips were nice and hot but for large chips you don’t get enough. Fish chips and peas is £12.00 probably about 10% dearer than other chip shops in the area. There was nothing wrong with the food just not enough chips and the fish wasn’t very large for a large portion. Also had to buy a tub of ketchup for a quid as no sachets. We spent nearly £40 but was still hungry.

Lovely gf chips my son hasn't had any for ages so hard to find a chippy that caters for gf. Great price would recommend 👌

Just ordered kebab meat and chips and small fish to be delivered to entrance of golden sands holiday camp. Delivered in 20 mins . Food was spot on can't fault it, Would recommend if your on camp site or just passing shop on Victoria rd Mablethorpe, P.s price and portions are very good Mick n Deb .....

Parking bit tricky and only few spaces on the designated area so need to park a bit further

Usually have a delivery to our caravan but decided to have them at the fish and chip today as we were in Mablethorpe and was not disappointed the food was lovely as always great fish and chips hubby had chips and cheese even the dogs dined out with a free sausage each plus some of my fish great place lovely owners we will be back

Visited Saturday 29th June 2024, we spent £32 on pizzas and bought a portion of fish and chips, awful chips, pizza overcooked, fish was like rubber, and the female staff member behind the counter was so rude when I asked for salt and vinegar, worst service in mablethorpe, will stick with ocean and saltys in future.it was around 5pm and the lady with the short hair behind the counter.

My chips were very good freshly cooked,hence a small worthwhile wait,pie and mushy peas were very good.i will return.

Went to St Anne's today and they do a fantastic gluten free cod and chips, it was a lovely crispy batter and was delicious. The lady said they also do GF battered sausage as well, I would definitely recommend.

Amazing place. We have 2 kids with intolerance. They have a separate fryer they use. They can cook for people who are dairy free and gluten free.amazing lady behind the counter. Great with the kids.

Frustrated - please update your opening times as we checked yesterday afternoon and thought we were ok to get there at 7pm and it was closed even though it states you close at 8pm.

Went for gluten free fish and chips they were lovely and the staff were very nice too would highly recommend.The fish and the batter were absolutely amazing well done and thankyou would highly recommend.

What a plaice! Food was brilliant even though we went in with 4 of us ordering for out own family's at once with roughly 15 meals they still got it all out and hot at the same time.

Clean shop, tables to sit and eat. Food good, reasonable price. Gluten free options available, rare thing in a chip shop.

The food was awful won't be going bk

Had triple beef burger and wife had double chicken burger, bread cobs were cold as though they had just come out of a fridge, beef burgers were not hot, and chicken burgers were soggy and inedible, don't look at the pictures on the menu because they don't look owt like them, never again. To the owners reply, if you check your CCTV you will see we left most of the burgers but ate the fries and definitely did not thank you for your lovely food 🥵

Went here today fish and chips for the family When we got it home the batter on the fish was rock hard and hardly any chips was alot for the money...and it may be because there was hardly any staff 1 serving 1 cooking... won't be returning

Came in last week, Waited 20 mins inside for our order. Simple large chips, curry and sausages. I saw the sausages were ready in the front, and they were serving other people chips in front of us but we were waiting 20 mins for no reason? They had already wrapped our curry so that was cold when we got home. Sausages too salty. Couldn’t see any feasible reason we were left sat there. Edit in response from owner: Your statement is incorrect as we were sat waiting by the till and watched people come in and order AFTER us and still be served first.. so the first come first served you just said contradicts our experience. I wouldn’t complain about people before us getting their food.

Never have posted a review I have never felt so belittled in my life There are many fish and chips shops in the area, please don’t waste your time here. Racist, made us feel like we were in the wrong place, gave us leftovers mouldy chips Have never felt so embarrassed just to order some food on holiday, Didn’t even offer to put vinegar on our food which is the main part Didn’t even give any plastic cutlery Did they expect us to eat with our hands Didn’t give any sauce, when asked they both looked at eachother and nodded saying they had no sauce (clearly lying). Beautiful fish and chips cooked to order. On our next visit to mablethorpe we will be coming back to St Anne's.

Nice sausage chips and curry sauce

My husband went to pick up our family some fish and chips yesterday from here. The service was outstanding! Very reasonably priced in my opinion. The fish was perfectly cooked, beautiful crispy batter. The chips were the best I've had in years!! The potato was soft inside, some crispy, some soft and all delicious. We also ordered large sausages that were lovely and fresh. We had chicken nuggets and chips for the little one.... The portion size was much bigger than expected and the Nuggets went down a treat! They looked great quality and again, very fresh and perfectly cooked. I can't fault a single thing!! If you are on holiday (or a local).... This is the place to go!! Thank you to the lady that helped out my husband and son yesterday, you're a legend!

My lad has coeliac and has no symptoms, so i have to be ultra careful and am v weary with any food not cooked by me, however chatting to the staff here they v clearly are coeliac aware and i trust them The food is excellent quality prices v competitive Highly recommended ,we always use when on holiday

Went here today after doing a Google search for gluten free fish and chips in Mablethorpe. The reviews all raved about this place and we weren't disappointed. I ordered gluten free fish and chips. The lady who served us was very well informed on sides that I could have and also explained that all the vinegar was gluten free, which was an added bonus. I was served up a huge freshly cooked piece of fish. The batter was crispy and the fish inside was fresh and tasty, as were the chips. My husband's donor meat and chips was also a huge portion and he said it was great. The place was spotlessly clean, the service was amazing and so was the food. Highly recommended this place

Very nice place. Plenty full spaces to sit out under shelter, nice location and close to the seafront.

Horrible. Cod was so off and ammonia tasting I couldn't eat it. And haven't been able to face any cod since. I asked em if it was something they'd found washed up on the beach.

Excellent fish and chips and great customer service. Food was ready a few minutes after placing our order despite it being quite busy and staff were very friendly. We chose to sit in the outdoor seating area which was clean and pleasant. Fish tasted fresh, batter was nice and crispy and portion sizes are good for the money. Highly recommended!

So we revisited for the first time and must say was a completely different experience, it was beautiful, fish crispy and flakey , chips fresh and nice , kebab meat was beautiful too xx would highly recommend

Finally! When they say they cater for gluten-free, they actually mean it!! Everything was cooked separately, which is sooo rare. As someone who suffers from coeliac d, this was such an incredible find. I haven't had battered sausage, chips and mushy peas from a chip shop in years. The batter was so light yet really crunchy, the sausage was delicious and the chips were absolutely incredible. I wish I lived closer so I could visit weekly.

This place was a life saver, was walking down the high street in the afternoon looking for something to eat, most of the restaurants were closed are booked, and we fancied Pizza, we found St. Anne's and the food was fast the Pizza was nice and the kids were happy. The staff were caring and polite. Sorry I didn't take pictures I was to busy enjoying the food.. I was starving!!!

Best fish and chip shop ever yum yum

Good quality, freshly made haddock has been served today. I would recommend this place to everyone. Staff is nice and place is clean with plenty sitting inside and outside. There is a toilet available along with disabled toilet, baby change facility and high chair for your baby to sit and eat. You have your dinner or lunch sorted when you visit this place.

Fantastic tasting haddock and chips with good juicy succulent battered sausages and piquant curry sauce! Popped in tonight for 2 haddock and chips with mushy peas curry sauce and 3 large battered sausages. Could hardly believe the whole lot cost just twenty pounds and was thrilled with the quick professional service by the lovely young lady behind the till. The young man doing the cooking was also friendly amd i loved their uniforms and the bright sparkling clean interior. Top fish and chips. Delicious. Inexpensive. Ten outof ten for st. Annes chippy.

Good food but service is shocking! We were served by a slightly ugly lookalike of Tom Hardy, who adorned a wet towel around his neck. I wasn't sure if this was to keep him cool or hide the zip of his 'human skin-suit'. Honestly, he was strange....even alien like! We asked for our meals - fish and chips with complimentary cups of tea and bread and butter, but the guy just stared at us...like really stared...for an uneasy 10 seconds or so. We weren't sure if it was because of our face masks (which weren't being worn by any staff), or if he was having a absent seizure. We finally ordered our meals and paid the full £35. After 10 minutes, we were called back in to collect our food and sat down on the benches outside. After 5 minutes, we realised that we hadn't been given our bread and butter which was advertised on the menu board. I went back inside, and went to the counter to be greeted by another of the same species, albeit a shorter, older version. I stated kindly that we were missing our bread and butter, and the guy, who looked like Boss Nass from Star Wars, just grunted and said "we've run out". I said "oh, but it shows it on the menu", and the guy replied with "Well, we haven't charged you to sit outside have we?!". I had a little look around at the signs, and couldn't see anywhere a charge for eating outside on the benches. Not bad fish and chips. Slightly overpriced but you can't put a price on good service. Needless to say, I won't be returning!

Nice chippy with indoor and outdoor seating , service is good staff nice enough , food is good and reasonably priced , also has a toilet inside, doesn’t get 5 stars as there was lots of litter around the outdoor seating which was a bit scruffy but would go back

Been coming to this fish n chip shop for around 55 years. We visited on Saturday and once again the fish, chips and peas were excellent. The peas especially delight as they are the traditional mushy peas and not the rubbish you get at some places nowadays. I would highly recommend this chippy. We took a 124 mile round trip to visit, they're that good. 5 stars
