Kitchen closed due to staff issues. Not a normal problem here .

Went with my dog midweek at dinner time the gluten free burger was the best I have ever tasted. The lady chef and bar staff could not have been better they were very polite and made sure I had a great time. Certainly will be going again 👍👍👍

It's many many years since my last visit, and i find it a nice modern pub.

The food is fantastic and a very reasonable price for the size of the servings- very impressive

10 of us been for lunch today and it was brilliant. The food and the service was perfect and we'll all spread the word. We had a 30% voucher to use which made the meals such good value. The meat pie 3 of us had was exceptional and the steaks ordered were cooked to perfection. A great lunch had by all and all the staff especially the landlady so friendly and obliging. Thankyou Sportsman for a lovely Mothers day.

Quick efficient service and lovely food. I recommend the salt and chilli chicken kebab.

Food was good and very reasonable for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful. Decor is rather dated, chairs were uncomfortable and these factors detracted from our enjoyment of the visit.

This was a very good experience, we went at 1pm sun it was fairly quiet but service was excellent my son wanted to play pool before dinner, staff really good service, we ordered starters which we ate in pool room, very nice !! We then went to dining area, everything was clean and menu laid out clearly, i ordered and a few alterations were accepted chips/mash etc. The Food arrived soon enough and all three of us cleared our plates i can definitely recommend the mixed grill. All in all very good food, good service

Visited yesterday because it really is a dog friendly pub. It happened to be the first day of their new menu so we were lucky enough to get a ,30% discount off our food All good is cooked fresh so it's hot and well presented Dogs are really spoiled

Fabulous visit to celebrate my birthday today. I enjoyed the curry which was tasty and delicious. As it was my birthday I was treated to a free ice cream sundae. I would highly recommend to everyone and we have already booked to come again.

Been out for a lunch and a few drinks perfect.Could take our dog food good service lovely could chat and enjoy our Sunday afternoon.

We visited the Sportsman with our family for a rare get together over the festive period! Candice and the team made us feel very welcome and the food was great! We will 100% be returning!!

Sincs new landlady took over the pub is definatly becoming popular, Good food, friendly staff and atmosphere, dj nights, kareoke, live acts. Pool table ,darts. And all the food prepared by the chef's from the various menu's. Good choice of gluten free food as well .also kids menu . The kitchen is cooking Monday through to Sundays. Friendly staff warm welcome ,dogs are also welcome when on lead.

Charlie couldn’t be more helpful! He even brought the dogs a water bowl ☺️ the food was yummy, great classic pub food. We were made to feel really welcome, lovely atmosphere and all 4 of us really really enjoyed the food. A little gem!

Great friendly pub and they allow dogs in which is great and you can tell they actually love dogs! They always make a fuss of my dog when I walk in! Food is lovely too at a reasonable price and a lovely down to earth atmosphere!

Came out for my dad’s birthday, 4 generations. Saturday afternoon for lunch, bit to busy but this meant that food was served quickly and was a great place to catch up. Friendly, helpful staff. Great service. Thanks

Came to sportsman with family n friends to celebrate my 60th birthday the food was amazing had breaded mushrooms starter , mixed grill main absolutely fantastic. On top of that the service was brilliant thank you so much to the lovley landlady who came over to talk to us all an made us feel so welcome. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel welcome xx

Good service and reasonable price

Always a nice evening, good pub food at very reasonable price. Cosy kind of setting. Tvs to keep kids entertained while we enjoyed a bottle of nice wine. Staff are lovely, friendly and chatty. We'll worth a visit.

First time visit. It won’t be the last. We were a family group of 7. There was plenty of choice on the menu to suit all of our tastes and they also catered for my son’s food allergies. The member of staff was lovely and the food was delicious.

Called In the other day just for a drink looked at the menu and decided to come back for food ...came back today and it didn't disappoint really nice food at a great price 👌
