Authentic Thai food, pictured are Chicken Pad Thai £11, and Chicken satay x4 skewers £6.50; as on November 2024. Highly recommended, there is good seating available, and sometimes they open the downstairs too. Reasonable prices and fresh tasty food, this place is always busy - highly recommend.

Told cash only when collecting my order. Advised to leave if no cash as they wouldn’t accept transfer. Prices have increased significantly. Not worth the hassle.

Great Atmosphere and amazing food. Small and cosy restaurant, can get quite busy. I would recommend the Chicken chilli garlic basil noodles, with less chillies because it can be very spicy! Customer service was very good, food was ready within 5-10 minutes. Highly recommend this place, I would go again.

Excellent service, quick to serve a table. Upon taking our food order, quick service of food, food tasted delicious. Travel over an hour for the food. Never disappointed. Only nag is the price has gone up since last visit. For price increase expect the portion to be a little bigger.

One of those places, great tasting food (although quality is not always as stellar as it used to be), but a bit dodgy! They only take cash and they are not very clean at all. Tables dirty and no foods covered in the kitchen, everything just looked a bit run down.

Do not fall for spicy basic budget food insta stories. The food is subpar. Not worth the money, prawns are very bad quality easy to tell they were frozen for weeks. Seating not that great. When I 1st ate here 11 yrs ago, I was paying £5.50 for the meal I enjoy having, now that same meal is £11. Meals keep going to up, it's ridiculous. Typical Asian restaurant not excepting card, cash only. Avoiding the tax man. Probably using the unopened spicy basil in cricklewood as a money laundry shop. Well the food was good. Suppose that's good enough to eat there.

I've had a few recommendations for this place. Omg did it not disappoint. Its the tastiest thai food I've eaten. People kept coming in and out on a Tuesday night, so you know its good. I had the chicken satay, the peanut sauce with it was sooo good. The Beef pad thai was really good as was the Spicy Basil Chicken Stir Fry, super tasty with a kick to it. Look forward to coming again. Food is halal Mosque a short walk away Its a busy area, so parking might be tricky to find.

It is a shame they dont take cards for payment. They are loosing 10000£. They do have machine but rhey dont want to use it so they dont pay taxes.

The best Thai food in london. Everything is authentic about this place. The dishes are extremely tasty. The staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is buzzing. The portions are big and despite a small price rise, it's still great value for money. The Chicken Satay and Pad Thai are my favourite dishes.

This is not a big place, but was a wonderful experience and the food is made fresh to the order so always at its best. If you have prawn crackers, best to get the spicy ones.

I was a loyal customer for years and it had always been the best-value restaurant on the high street (though service of some was an issue). However, the price tag has been raised for too much with the name of inflation. (For example £12 for something charged £6 before) It's a shame we lost a good choice in Kilburn.

Spicy Basil, Authentic Thai Food and somewhat of an authentic Thai atmosphere too. Situated on the main road of Kilburn, this absolute sunshine of a restaurant is a lovely place to sit down for a meal, whether it being a meal in-between shopping, work, day out or whatever the occasion, words can't describe the abundance of joy one would feel after eating at this location. The interior of this place will have one teleported from modern day London to what one that hasn't been to Thailand would presume to be a modern day Thai restaurant in Thailand. The service, the look of the menu, the way the tables and chairs are assorted really adds to that touch of Thai authenticity, the art of the theme in this location really works well with what the restaurant represents. From the moment one walks in, the waft of the food being cooked is like a hot summer's zephyr after being through a harsh winter solstice, the aroma of the food, the hustle and bustle of the chefs in the kitchen really adds to that busy city Thai life, the only other ingredient missing from that would be the blaring horns off of vehicles stuck in traffic. I had ordered the beef with garlic chilli and basil with fried rice and for the price the size of the portion is exceptional; to the point where one would be contemplating their next visit. The ingredients used were fresh, the dish hot as well as the service of the food quite quick. From the first spoonful I was lost in the temptation of scoffing my meal down quickly, though it was hard to resist doing so I'm glad I did, the burst of flavour, the abundance of texture, from the crunch of the vegetables, to the soft fried rice packed with flavour straight to the well cooked beef; every spoonful had me lost in temptation that was vibrating in the air of me quickly scoffing my meal down. Once I had paid for my meal I really wanted to give the chefs my compliments as well as a chefs kiss however it had seemed like they were busy and so had asked the front of house to do so on my behalf... All in all an absolutely gorgeous place (if you understand the art gone into this restaurant) with a more gorgeous amount/dishes of food being pushed out, fantastic.

Brilliant hidden gem. Located in Kilburn on the busy high street is this discreet little local authentic restaurant serving fresh hot Thai cuisine. Tantalising food to fit all palates, just ask for more or less spice and they are happy to accommodate. Service is friendly and fast, price is great and food is delicious. The whole menu is also halal. Great restaurant and would highly recommend. 5 stars!

A gem of a place. Food arrives really quickly and is piping hot. 6 minutes from order to delivery. The food quality is great too and reasonably priced. Only complaint would be the chicken satays were a bit thin.

The food is full of flavour king prawn pad Thai is one my favourite dish. The chicken Green Thai curry is also very nice with egg fried rice. The sitting in the restaurant is not very comforting the tables are all very close together and makes you feel very claustrophobic.

Food here is just too nice and so authentic, fresh and presented nicely. My favourite Thai spot hands down and the staff are always lovely to me whenever I visit. Would be great if the restaurant was a little bigger as getting a table can be tricky but for the food, the wait is worth it.

If you want the cheapest and fastest Thai food in London (and your not fussed with spicy..) THIS IS THE PLACE. We come to did place for nearly 10 years.. in Kilburn and we never got disappointed. To be totally honest this last time was a little too spicy even for me. But with an average of 11 pounds x dish (and with a LOT of food in your plate for your dosh!!) Can't moan too much. If you like Thai, spicy and your near Kilburn.. its a NO brainer!!

Absolute nonsense food white rice with soya sauce and noodle with some kind of sweet chilli even i could make this kind of food not restaurant standard and rude staff i donnt know how this place is so busy cleary people nowadays dont have taste buds

Do not recommend this place!! I’ve been a loyal customer for years as I used to enjoy the food but they’ve increased the prices so much and the customer service is awful. The quality of the food has gone worse and the prices increased and I’m tired of continuously being disrespected by the Pakistani/ Indian man who works there who has always been so rude, unpleasant and aggressive and has literally told me and my family to ‘get out’ when he makes multiple mistakes which other workers have to sort out and apologise for. I used to like this place a lot but I will never go back there again. They’ve lost a very loyal customer.

This place has been my go to thai place good price and good food, however, one of the kind members of staff made us aware that the vegetarian menu is not fully vegetarian going on to inform us that the currys contain preprepared sauces contains fish oil. When asked on previous occasions they had said clearly that it wouldn't be a problem to make it completely veg not contains any fish or oyster sauce ( non veg items) only for us to be told on this last occasion thst it does and that they don't really pay any attention to cross contamination. Personally I would recommend this place for non veg people unfortunately not for anyone else any more.

Red curry was extremely oily, I’m so disappointed to have spent £11 on this dish. If I wanted oil I would’ve got it from the supermarket. To make things worse they charge extortionate amount.

I’ve been eating here for over 17 years and my in-laws for as long as they’ve been open! Even though we live nowhere near now, still pop in or takeaway once a quarter. It’s consistently good food, nothing fancy, just really flavoursome and generous portions. Any beef or chicken dish, set to your favourite flavour - you’ll thoroughly enjoy.

I was a customer for 6-7 years.Unfortunately within a year they increase the price many times. 1.Expensive!!! Not the same quality of food but charged like restaurants price! 2.Food not the same like before! Maybe chef changed or ingredients changed.Food was mixed cold and warm! maybe they precooked? 3.Bad smell from the food,probably old oil or they reusing the same oil! 4.Spring roll was rubbish! Inside don’t know what is that but wasn’t possible to eat ,so I haven’t eat,only 1 bite but still paid! 5.Very dirty tea pot! 6.Will I come back?Well all who I know like 12 people used to come here but they told me not to go there anymore because it’s not the same food anymore!

Food was so so delicious and the service was incredibly fast and efficient! Definitely highly recommend to anyone looking for a decent meal for reasonable pricing. Will 100% eat there again, also the tables come with servings of chilli flake oil, green pepper oil and soy sauce so you can add spice for your personal palate, which I adore 🌶

Keeps upping the prices and unfortunately, getting quite expensive there now. Tbh food was great for the price it was when it was cheaper as it was reasonably decent food and quick although sometimes the chicken is a bit ropey there. Basically it's good but not a £11 pound a dish good. At that price I would rather eat elsewhere. To the owner I would say, don't get to greedy sir. Can't lie won't be going there for a while.

Hygiene concern. Insect found in rice in Thai greens curry meal, sewage smell lower ground. Would not recommend.

I've been coming to this place for years. Used to be really good food and good value for money but now they're just taking the mickey. I appreciate cost of living but to almost double your price and give smaller portions you have lost all integrity and my business. Remember when times where hard and you were profiteering from it. You only accept cash which I can't believe has been running for this long so clearly you're not even paying the correct tax and probably pay your staff below minimum wage cash. Its hurts me to say this but this place has become and absolute con.

The food from this establishment always second to none. Fresh and Delicious. The service was very good. My order was taken over the phone and waiting time for delivery was quick, maybe about half an hour.

Food is very good especially their stir fry dishes, always so much “wok hay”. Prices gone up, uses a large plate to make their portions bigger, also basil fried rice over salted and too much Msg.

First time at Spicy Basil and definitely not the last! The food is generous and well priced with a lot of variety. The only downside is that they don’t take card payments so I had to find a cash point. Other than that I recommend for a quick, tasty and filling lunch or dinner

Lovely food as always, good service, price has gone up a bit but the portions are good and I just love the food since 2009 and I'm very happy they are still going strong although I think they should open a branch in South London 😀

The first time I ate here a year ago the food was okay. The last 3 times my partner and I gave it the benefit of the doubt but it was horrible. The was chicken was boiled it was like eating bouncy chicken it made me feel sick. The beef was rock hard and extremely fatty. The customer service is not good. I won’t be returning again. The prices on their online website are not reflective of what the actual price is. I told them about it and they said they didn’t care, not their problem.

One of the worst services I’ve ever experienced at any dining establishment. Spent near a £100 and instead of owning up to their mistake, tried to blame me for fabricating a missing order for dumplings on my wife’s birthday. (Spend a £100 to make a fuss over £6 dumplings loool wow) I wasn’t even that upset I just wanted acknowledgement, instead was accused by this pony tailed angry faced lady. Really, genuinely upset with this service and I hope you don’t go there to experience it. I was in shock more than anything. Really made me sick to have my integrity questioned in a such a manner.
