Nice service, but most of the food was bland and under=seasoned.

Food tasted alright.. week and a half later my stomache still aint right. Wouldnt eat here ever again even if it was the last place on earth with food

Rogan Josh and chicken tikka masala were absolutely disgusting. Watery and the vegetables were like mush. Very disappointing.

Tuvimos una comida para llevar de aquí esta noche y honestamente puedo decir que fue uno de los mejores que he tenido, definitivamente orden de nuevo, altamente recomendable!

Great little sit down restaurant. The staff are amazing, so friendly. The place was a little busy so we thought the food was going to take awhile but it came out fast and fresh. Will definitely be coming back for onion bajjis alone.

What a banging curry. Always wanted to have a curry in Birmingham and this definitely didn't disappoint. Chicken Tikka madras, spot on spice wise for me. 5 star

Honestly this has to be the worst Indian meal I have ever had. If I was the chef or the owner I would be embarrassed to let the food leave the kitchen. I had the special curry (lamb, chicken and prawn). The sauce was like a tasteless gravy and the amount of meat in it could be counted on one hand. There was literally no taste or no spice at all. I don’t usually write reviews for a bad meal, I just choose not to eat there again but for this place I made an exception. Unfortunately I couldn’t leave ‘no stars’ so they can have 1 star for the poppadoms. Never again.

Ordered take away via their website. Delivered 40 mins late but perhaps excusable on a Saturday evening. However food (other than the rice and popadoms) of an abysmally poor standard. Watery and tasteless. So called lamb appeared to be discarded mutton but could have been anything. King prawn biryani had a few pieces of incinerated torn prawn in rice with no sauce. One of the starters was missing. I paid £47 for this rubbish. Buyers beware. AVOID!

Recently moved to the area so thought we would try out the local takeaway. It’s safe to say we will not be returning. Service was lovely - very pleasant. Just a shame about the food. I’ve never know anywhere to use plastics burger cheese slices for a keema cheese naan, was not impressed. The tikka lamb pathia was bland and watery and the spice menu mix for 2 was ok ish. I still can’t believe they put burger cheese slices in the naan. Would not recommend at all. It’s a shame as we would have been regular returning customers if the food was nice - will try the local competition!

Had a takeaway from there on Monday awful wrong rice delivered nan bread was heavy and doughy and the chicken was hard gone downhill worst takeaway in a long time

How have people given 2 plus stars the foods horrible. Balti abd Madras turned up like watery soup just meat which I spat out. Smallest size rice never again should be ashamed of yourself!

Overnight visit to the area and we chose this restaurant pretty much at random. We had the Spicemenu special starter which really was superb, the sea bass being perfectly cooked with a quite delicious mix of spices infused. We were impressed by how hot (in temperature) both the food and the plateware was on arrival at our table. The service incidentally was relaxed, but attentive. We both chose different mains, one from the spice menu specials and one from the traditional menu. Our dishes were presented once again on hot plates, with the food nice and hot. The flavours were superb, at opposite ends of the scale, a butter chicken and a Lamb Madras, mushroom rice, Bombay aloo and a honey doused naan. The restaurant doesn’t serve alcoholic drinks, but are happy to supply glasses if you wish to take your own. I’d go out of my way to visit again. Well done Spicemenu!

We visited the area for the weekend to see the Christmas markets and were going to eat at our accommodation site but they don't serve food on a Saturday night but recommended Spice Menu. Thank God they don't serve food on a Saturday night or we would have missed out on probably the best Indian meal we have had. Everything was spot on. The food delicious and hot and friendly service. If you want alcohol, bring your own but glasses ate happily provided for you. Well done Spice Menu!

Visited with family and all I can say never again. Start to finish was there 3 hours the wait for food was horrendous and it wasn't busy for that to be the reason. When mains were finally bought out the food was all over the place . Family were served rice chips etc then sat waiting for curries even cutlery. It took that.long some family members just wanted to take it home. To top it off the food was awful. As we left another family asked for the manager as they'd been waiting nearly two hours. Unless you have a whole evening to waste avoid this place

We attended as group of 13 after a karate competition we were held up later than expected at the competition and they were kind enough to hold our table for us. We enjoyed a lovely meal thanks to the great service of the team. Would highly recommended this lovely restaurant.

I want to give a 10 star to Spice menu. I went to the restaurant 🍴 with my family members and I have ordered Tandoori Mixed Grill with Garlic Nan Bread and my family ordered a Sylheti Bahar Tandoori Chicken I really had my meal and it was really amazing and the food was so delicious 😋 and the staff was very generous and nice people and kind and it is value for money the restaurant is really nice and clean. Keep it up your good work all the best. We will see you again soon. Thank you for your time and the pleasure and a hospitality.

In my opinion Spicemenu is the most underappriciated curry house in Birmingham. I’ve been there a lot and each time I’ve gone, I’ve always really had a good night and the food is divine. All in all Spicemenu never disappoints. The staff are amazing and the atmosphere is so calm and relaxed. I find when it’s someone’s Birthday, because the place is small, it’s like you can’t help but sing Happy Birthday too even you don’t know the person. Anyway just try the Spicemenu, you won’t regret it.

Delivery was pre booked on line for delivery at a certain time, it came slightly early no problem and was delicious. Will certainly be ordering from them again, definitely value for money.

We had been regular customers for take-aways.But a few weeks ago we were very disappointed.We were sent a starter size of one of the main courses ordered.I immediately rang to complain and was told "not to worry we will send a replacement"?We waited for an hour which spoilt our meal.I rang again and was told there had been a mistake but not to worry "we will see you right the next time you come in"??????Terrible service and customer relations.Won't be going back as we have discovered the Copper Fox in Quinton Lane.The food is far better quality there.If you want to eat in though make sure to book as it is usually very busy.

I have ordered from spicemenu loads of times and always enjoyed it. Tonight's was awful!! Naan under cooked. Egg fried rice was burned to the point of it being black!!!

The food isn’t bad, but it’s certainly not good... I think bland is the word I’m looking for. If you like tasteless soup like stew then this is for you. If you want authentic curry flavours go elsewhere....

First time ordering, never again, food was terrible, 1 pot of mint sauce for an order that had tikka starter and mix grill which was awful.

Paneer Jalfrezi was terrible. Like a tin of tomatoes with peppers and onions. Lamb tikka starter was nice.

just moved back to live in birmingham.you were reccomended to me by my sister who used to come in to you in groups of staff from shenley court school..she lives in bournville in mulberry road .she has takeaways sometimes but prefers to come in.

They forgot my Pepsi witch cost me £2 and I couldn't get though to the restaurant by phone I don't think the contact number is working. So only option I had was to refund the money back to my account. Much would of rather it go back to my card account. Was really annoying as this was my first time ordering at this place and didn't get my drink with my food.

I’m never disappointed with Spicemenu. It seems to get better everytime I order! I’m so lucky it’s only 5 minutes from where I live. Friendly staff and delicious food.

Food was cold rhe chips were dark brown like the oil hasn't been changed for a while. Couldnt eat our food due to it being cold. Used this restaurant for years and the last few times we have ordered the food hasn't been that great. Will not be ordering again.

Chicken tika main was perfect, not had it as good as this for years, was nice and red and clay oven cooked, you can tell if its not. Rice was nice too, only thing that I can grumble about is the cheese naan, although still nice, was it had that cheap square burger cheese in it and not real cheese, please can you use real cheese next time, overall will order again

The sauces on both meals were total stodge and chapattis were paper thin. Chips were over cooked and considering the amount we paid for the meal, not even a couple of free poppadoms. The food was over priced and not great but did arrive earlier than expected.
