We did not have much time to eat before our trip to the Apollo Theatre, the lady on the door was lovely we explained that we did not have much time however this was no issue, she found us a table even though the place was heaving, the staff were very helpful. The setting was beautiful with plenty to look at. Menues presented & what a fantastic selection! We had various dishes brought out quickly, myself & my daughter had kung po & it was absolutely delicious, one of the best I've had. We were treated exceptionally, the food was delicious, nothing was too much trouble, highly recommend will definitely return when I'm back in London. Thank you 🙏

The portion is considered large in Chinatown. Two large lobsters at 65 is a very reasonable price. The ginger and scallion noodles are delicious. The chicken feet are great! The siu mai should be made by themselves, delicious! The service of the sisters is also very good! I will come again.

I really liked it. The staff was friendly and attentive at all times, and the restaurant's location is excellent, right at the entrance to China Town. The food was all delicious, with a lot of variety. We ended up ordering a set menu, which turned out to be too much food, but they gave us the leftovers to take away. Everything on the menu was very good, and it's true that it was a bit pricey. The set menu was €65 per person, but the truth is, we could have ordered less food and the price would have been very good.

Everything I ate here was delicious. However, I don't know if the dim sum is particularly special compared to other places. It's just average dim sum. I'm not a person who writes reviews often, but I'm writing this because the service was the worst. I was still eating my dim sum, so I dipped my dim sum in soy sauce and took a bite. Then the waiter almost snatched the rest of the empty bowl, including the soy sauce bowl, away. I had to eat the rest of the dim sum without soy sauce, dumbfounded. Aside from this moment, their service was rude from start to finish. I know because I worked as a waiter myself. Emotional labor can be hard. But this place was beyond emotionless and expressionless. I don't even expect the service to improve because of this review. Anyway, no matter what kind of service they provide, they will receive a generous tip (I paid because of the mandatory tipping culture, but I really didn't want to give it. I live in Europe, so I'm used to tipping. I always give at least 10 percent.) Since they mainly serve tourists rather than regulars, they may not care about improving their service because they have so many new customers. Even if they don't have repeat customers, their business will be good. I hope my review will be helpful to other customers!

Stopped here with my daughter and we had a delightful meal. Each plate we ordered was delicious. We ordered from both regular menu and the dim sum menu. All good was cooked fresh and hot. The only complaint we had was lack of service. Since we sat against the wall, the servers ma only stayed down the middle area and attending to those guests the most. No assigned server per table which made it harder for them to know who had been seen by someone else or not. It didn’t ruin our meal, but made for a longer visit than necessary just waiting around. We will go back for the food though.

Called in to the Orient London for an unplanned spot of lunch and this proved to be a really good experience. The Orient is just a short stroll away from Shaftesbury Avenue and nestled within the heart of Londons Chinatown. As you would expect, Chinatown has so many dining options and it really is very hard to decide where to go however, after strolling around and checking the other places out we opted to call into the Orient London. It was around 11.50am on a Saturday morning and it was already busy…. We saw this as a good sign. Inside is a pleasant interior with ample tables. The bar, kitchen and toilets are located to the rear. The Orient has plenty of staff to hand so service was very efficient. The menus offered plenty of choice and typical Chinese fare. Our food was served in good time despite how busy and popular this place is and the quality and quantity was very good. In addition, given the central London location, the prices were also very reasonable and comparable to other equally rated Chinese restaurants accross the UK. All in all our experience of the Orient London was very good and should you find yourself in Chinatown and struggling to decide which restaurant to choose then I am confident to recommend this place.

A disappointing meal from start to finish. The Shanghai dumplings were thick and doughy, completely lacking the delicate texture they should have had. The filling was bland and uninspiring, with no depth of flavour. The spring rolls weren’t any better—greasy, limp, and barely warm by the time they arrived. For a restaurant in such a prime location, I expected much better quality.

Rude woman at cashier asked me to leave after I barely finished the food, with my drink鴛鴦(coffee mixed with tea in milk) still halfly full. The reason she presented to me is customers waiting outside for my table, which is ridiculously absurd as there are still some empty tables, The request she made to me to be fair sounded polite but putting the bill on my table without my asking for it and the frequency she urged me to go betrayed her good will. I spent only around half an hour there while eaters next table who were eating the moment I settled at mine were still there. Not the same treatment. It was clear they/4 people spent much more than me. But hospitality should apply equally to every patron, no matter how different they contribute to the restaurant’s revenue. They could let me know that they don’t welcome poor and lone spenders and I would simply patronize other food house as there are so many options around the area. The gentleman who led me to the table said sorry and tried to pacify my indignation when I complained. He bore no fault and I have to thank him for his kindness. The food cost me around £23. Not little. You want to earn more, but you have to be decent and reasonable.. It is tragic money can bury a person’s basic integrity, esp in this highly materialised world.

Food wasn’t too bad but had a nasty surprise that the staff use the same toilets. So when you witness a cook using the urinal and then not washing their hands and a waiter who decides he’ll spend a few minutes bring up snot by the sink and the using the one nostril trick that footballers use to fire it out into the sink. Decided I’ll avoid Chinese for a while.

The last two times I have visited, I have noticed the dim sum quality has really gone downhill. I can tell that the prawn dumplings + pork and prawn dumplings have been either frozen or been sat out for a very long time. This causes the dim sum to lose its springiness and texture, so it does not pass the quality test for the price you pay. The steamed rice rolls needs more practice from the chef, also lacking in texture. As for the crispy noodles, I suggest changing the noodle type and adding more depth to the taste of the sauce, it was very bland. Service was superb.

Located at the entrance of china town, close by Leicester Square, this restaurant is placed just before you cross under the opposing china town arch entrance. Staff are welcoming and placed us at a table overlooking the front of the premises. Tables were well dressed and a full explanation of each menu available was given. Staff are extremely inventive and quick to replace dirty plates or empty dishes. Food is served in good time and hot. Portion sizes are large, and although the set menu dishes may seem pricey on the outset, portion size and quality soon tell you what you’re paying for. There are plenty of options available and a range of set menu offers given a broad choices of menu dishes. This has been my favourite address for dim sum in Chinatown for some time. My test dishes for dim sum are har gao and beef hor fun. The har gao and prawn cheung fun contain large chunks of whole shrimp and no bamboo filler, unlike some places that use a fine mince made from scraps. Their hor fun has plenty of wok hei, or smokey flavour from the noodles catching on flames that is only possible when wokked at a very high temperature. This effect is impossible to achieve at home on a domestic burner. They don't take reservations at weekends during daytime, so if you want to avoid the queues go for dim sum right at 12:00 or after 15:30. Last order from the daytime dim sum menu is around 16:45. Normally I would categorize the service as typical of Chinatown: namely, surly but efficient. However, today we arrived at 16:00 when the restaurant was near empty and service was actually helpful and attentive as well as being efficient. They brought chilli sauce, chilli oil, soy and vinegar which you normally have to ask for at peak times. And our teapot was continually refilled without having to ask, which would have unheard of at peak times. They are modestly priced. Most of the steamed dim sum is £5.80 for three pieces--even the scallop dumplings. I would recommend ordering the har gao (prawn crystal dumplings), shiao long bao (Shanghai pork soup dumplings), prawn cheung fun, and lor bak gao (Cantonesen turnip cake). The less common dishes that I like are the taro croquettes, the fried bean curd skin coated prawn rolls, and mushroom dumplings. If you're very hungry the beef hor fun is more substantial, as is #420 from the regular menu, which is minced prawn stuffed aubergine, green peppers and tofu. This is a large portion of what is often considered a dim sum dish. When deciding how much to order, count either as 3 plates of dim sum. Our waitress suggested ordering 4 dim dishes per person. The last photo shows the order form for daytime dim sum including current prices and our order of 12 dishes for three hungry people. You can cross reference numbers from the dim sum menu if you don't read Chinese.

The price-quality ratio was way off. We started with deep-fried veggies, which were okay. For the main course, we had chicken hotpot with rice and shrimp with veggies and rice. The hotpot wasn’t hot, the chicken was tough, and the flavor was way too sweet. The other dish was completely bland—we had to ask for chili sauce just to get some taste. On top of that, the waiter brought us the bill out of nowhere after just an hour, even though we had booked the table for a longer time and the place wasn’t even busy. When in Europe, you have to lower your expectations for Asian food, or be prepared to spend a lot of money. For London, this was a perfectly acceptable dim sum experience, especially in Soho. The majority of Chinatown caters to tourists and white people, and this isn't a lot different. However, when we visited, everyone inside was Asian, which is a good sign. Even single people having a quick lunch. I'd been dying for dim sum for months since it is unavilable where I currently live. We have tried many of the restaurants in Chintatown and none have been particularly good. So, this was just a spontaneous choice as it didn't seem very full of people and the menu was what we were hoping for. Service was good; very friendly. Food came quickly and without any issues. All the food was mostly good. The fried rice was flavourful, the beef cheung fun were large and filled the exact amount I like, and the char siu so were excellent. The scallop dumplings were pretty bland unfortunately, and the har gow was mediocre according to my wife. I wanted to have the wu gok (it is my favourite) but for some reason here they put shrimp in it, and I really hate prawns. Prices are on the higher end, which was somewhat expected. It was acceptable dim sum for London. I would probably return if I am in Soho and craving some.

My favourite chinese restaurant in London - previously called “jade garden”. Dim sum menu is extensive. Only 8 (fried/steam) dishes are vegan - so it can feel rather tedious. But there are plenty of other plant based dishes if you like spicy food or want to order something with rice or noodles. The service is super fast- the servers are helpful. The bathroom is very narrow and busy to get to and from. It is children friendly. Quietest time without queue is 12-12.40pm and after 3.30pm-5pm for dim sum menu. Menus are displayed in both chinese and English I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food is authentic and well cooked. The best dim sum location in China town. Not wheelchair friendly (definitely not - bathroom wise)

Orient London is a true culinary gem in the heart of the capital, offering a dining experience that fuses the best of Chinese cuisine with a contemporary twist. From the moment you walk in, the warm and elegant atmosphere envelops you, setting you up for a memorable evening. The menu is a masterpiece that stands out for its authenticity and variety. Each dish is carefully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Dim sum is a must: delicate, perfectly cooked and impeccably presented. Among the main dishes, the crispy Peking-style duck is simply exquisite, with crispy golden skin and juicy meat that melts in your mouth. Service is another of the Orient London's strong points. The staff is friendly, attentive and always willing to offer recommendations based on the diner's preferences. Plus, their knowledge of the dishes is impressive, which adds a personalized touch to the experience. The restaurant's decoration combines traditional with modern, creating a sophisticated but cozy atmosphere, ideal for both an intimate dinner and a special group occasion. The location is excellent, making it a perfect destination for both locals and visitors looking for an authentic Chinese experience in London. I had the pleasure of dining at Orient London in Piccadilly, and the experience was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warmth and friendliness, making us feel instantly welcome. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate any request with a smile left a lasting impression. As for the food, there are simply not enough words to describe the culinary excellence they offer. Every dish we tried was perfectly prepared, featuring fresh ingredients of the highest quality. The flavors were well-balanced, authentic, and utterly delicious. The menu boasts a wide variety of dishes that showcase the best of traditional Chinese cuisine, with a modern twist that makes it even more appealing. It’s clear that Orient London is not just about offering delicious food, but about providing a complete dining experience, with a cozy atmosphere and impeccable service. It’s a place I will undoubtedly return to, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a first-class dining experience in the heart of London.

I heard that it's delicious at every restaurant, so I ordered the noodles thinking it would be delicious, but the Chinese vermicelli didn't have any seasoning, so I gave it a 3/5. The dim sum is so ridiculously delicious and this much for this price? Are you giving me this? Enough to do it. It's a shame that you can only order dim sum until 4:45, but next time I go for lunch, I'm going to just eat dim sum. Cheongfun is really crazy. I don’t know anything else, but this is the best!

This place is a scam. Went with my colleagues and just noticed that on the bill they charged gratuity TWICE! A total of £95 of SERVICE CHARGE on a £450 bill. They managed to do this by charging once on the actual bill and then again on the card bill where the gratuity was applied ON TOP of the total that already had a £44.90 gratuity included! Watch out for this scam, or better yet, choose another place! Robbery in broad daylight.

One of my go to place for dim sum in Chinatown. Usually service is pretty good but we sat upstairs, which we have trouble getting service. They are not cheap but dim sum is delicious. They can get busy on weekend lunch. Nearest Tube Station - Leicester Square + Piccadilly Circus. Street Parking can be tricky.

Fresh, delicious food and wide range of dishes available. Particularly enjoyed the roast duck, house special fried rice and charcoal lava bun (sweet). Some dim sum casings felt slightly thicker than to my liking but still good. Service was overall efficient but at times slow. Second visit same month, I recommend the house special fried rice and mapo tofu 😍

Came here the first time with my friend and we just had some home style food. I quite like the lamb with tofu stick and would recommend it. Service and dinning experience was nice. Overall a pleasant experience.

One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in London and I’ve tried quite a few. If you want to have something exquisite, try the Fried prawns with fruity sauce from the a la cart menu and the King prawn or beef cheung fun from the dim sum menu as starters. Won’t disappoint.

The signature rice rolls have better barbecued pork flavor, the carrot cakes are generous but taste ordinary, and the steamed pork ribs with black bean sauce are very fresh. The food is generally good, the service is pretty good for London, the location is convenient, and the environment is clean and tidy.

I ordered a set menu for 2 people and it was really bad... Almost everything left... The price is expensive, the taste is not good, and the quantity is very small... I thought it was really a waste of money to go on a trip.

Terrible place to go! They gave us the small table for 3 people and didn’t let us change to 4 ppl size table. And the food was awful and service was too bad. They didn’t ask for any drinks even though we had sat for over 10 min

Dim sum had very little filling and the casing was too thick. The fried rice was very bland. Some of the dim sum was cold. When we asked to remove the discretionary service from the bill, we were told this was not allowed. We were disappointed.

Absolutely terrible service! The staff was rude, our food was burned and they were saying when it wasn’t when I tasted the burnt. Our treatment could have possible been linked to racism . But wouldn’t go back. Definitely don’t recommend

As it says in the title, this is the place to bear when it comes to authentic and deliciously made bubble tea. The service is always fast and I don’t think I can emphasise just how wonderful the drinks are. You get a lot of drink for what you buy plus there is just something special about the presentation of the drink and the way it is made that stays in your mind long after you finish the bubble tea. I particularly recommend the fruit teas, with some drinks it comes with fresh fruit in the drink that you can eat after! Always refreshing and sweet

Had a very nice lunch here in a group of 4. We were on a fixed price special deal. Great food, service etc. Only note to myself make sure to check the wine list prices before ordering extra glasses.
