Very disappointed The only good thing was the serving staff The food was moderate and no better than a chain the portions were small as dish's to share It needs to decide if it's a restaurant or a night club we had to move tables so we could see and hear ourselves talk We saw one guy using a torch to read his menu

We went out for my best friend’s dinner. The chef’s table service was expert and the food was excellent. However, the bar staff and front of house staff were abhorrent and refused to serve us a drink after dinner. Totally ruined my friend’s birthday. Complete lack of tact or understanding. Snobbery to its worst extreme. An embarrassing degree of censorship. Could not recommend this restaurant less if you want a truly special occasion. It bears the Gordon Ramsey name but his spirit is lacking.

Visited Lucky Cat for drinks at the bar only on a Saturday night in April 2024. As with much of Mayfair and the wider west end, it felt quieter than usual - likely due to ongoing train strikes that weekend. That said, it allowed us more time chatting with the (excellent) barmen whilst ordering cocktails. The venue is dark, sultry and with some more life, could be sexy too. Looks great, nice fit out. Cocktails are around £20 each plus service - you’re in Mayfair, so don’t criticise the price- if you want cheap go elsewhere! The quality of ingredients and the effort that goes into them is worth it. Great glassware, ice and unusual spirits you don’t get everywhere, with a Japanese / far east edge. Delicious. Visited after experiencing Lucky Cat Manchester a few weeks back and have to say Manchester was better :-) More vibe, the service was slicker in Manchester and the music was on point. Visited there on a weeknight so no DJ - Mayfair has a DJ on Friday / Saturday night but this Saturday the music was lacklustre and poorly mixed. At 20:30-21:00 you want more energy, polish and vibe. The DJ needed to do better frankly (Sat 6th April). If you’re in the North, get to Lucky Cat Manchester - sublime space, service, food and drinks (and music!!)

A fail. The first thing we heard from a waiter (before a hello) was "You only have 90 minutes, then you have to clear your table". Hello. So we ordered quickly. The food then arrived with an immense delay, exactly 15 minutes (!) before the deadline. And was slammed onto the table by the waiters in such a way that my father's shirt was just able to see a bit of his pasta. The food was ok (not great, but definitely ok). The noise in the restaurant was very loud (well, since we only had 15 minutes to eat anyway, it was probably a good thing that we couldn't have a conversation) and the tables were frighteningly close together. We were able to visit many wonderful restaurants during our trip to London - but this was a complete failure. And the fact that this belongs to the chef who enjoys criticizing others is the final touch of irony in this story.

Embarking on a culinary journey at Mayfair Bar & Grill was an absolute delight! The atmosphere is inviting, with a touch of sophistication that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu offers a tantalizing selection of dishes, each bursting with flavor. The staff is welcoming and attentive, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant. Whether you’re craving a hearty steak or something more adventurous, Mayfair Bar & Grill delivers on all fronts. It’s a gem worth visiting again and again.

Have wanted to go here for a couple of years. Was in London on business so the girlfriend took me out! We eat at some lovely restaurants so was expecting great things from the foul-mouthed chef :-) We booked only four days before for 7:30pm on a Saturday and was surprised to get a table. The atmosphere is dimly lit, which I like. There's a DJ playing house and lounge, which was not too loud and added to the ambience. The tables were a bit too wide, I felt too far away from my partner to have a nice intimate meal. The food was totally average and WAY overpriced, even for London. The Korean Cod sounded appealing, £46 per portion, I was expecting something amazing! It was a small piece of regular cod with some average flavouring. I've had better cod from a Simply Cook or Gousto! Couldn't believe what a let down it was. The broccoli was smoked but had some awful sauce like a Marie Rose sauce usually on prawns. Why? Just why?? The nigiri sushi was average, at £32 for 6 pieces, this was a rip-off like the cod. The chicken was pretty amazing, succulent, tasty, just sublime, probably the only thing that tasted well cooked. The desserts were average too. Really fancied the Lucky Cat Gateaux, but at £40 I didn't want to take the risk after the £46 cod was such a disappointment. The service was good. We spent £249 on a meal, and have never felt more unsatisfied with the overall experience. Will never go there again. If you've got money to waste then go for it. We've eaten at Michelin restaurants and Lucky Cat food is really nowhere near that standard. Gordon getting rich with very average dishes.

Long-ish read, but comprehensive. Booking stated, "Happy birthday **. Husband had a tough time recently, want to make bday extra special" Upon entering, the person on the door was very friendly and welcoming. When we entered, the two women on front desk were rude and unwelcoming. They ignored us standing beside them and I had to say "excuse me" twice for them to acknowledge us. Our table was not ready, so they asked us to sit in the lounge area whilst it was being prepared. My husband raised the issue with me that the front of house staff being rude and said he felt like we were inconveniencing them and that we were not welcome. I also felt this way, but didn't want to point it out to him. Awful way to start the evening. We were seated at our table 15 mins after our reservation time. The table we were seated at was very wobbly, after pointing it out to the staff, it took 3 staff to attempt to balance the table by putting something under it. Food and drink: Cocktails: Tommy's margarita (upon request) £19, tasty, just not enough of it. Polynesian punch £23, tasted like a double shot of malibu with filled to the brim with crushed ice in an opaque drinks holder. No flavours of the juice whatsoever and very little of the liquid to actually drink. Starters: GFC-barely edible. Baby squid- ok. Nigiri selection- ok. California roll- ok. Mains: Black cod £46- bland, very bland. Moist and succulent, but bland. Scallops- £29.50 for 2 scallops cut in half. They were delicious, but you'd expect there to be at least 3. Egg fried rice £20- mixed in front of you, interesting presentation... tasty enough. Tenderstem broccoli- truly dreadful. Immediate taste of burnt. Actually tasted like cigarette. Had to send it back. The waitress advised it was the way it was cooked over the fire, but no thanks. Left a very nasty after-taste in the mouth. Dessert: Apple treacle cake- was expecting a light and fluffy cake, this was very dense and sickly. Dessert wine: Took a sip and pushed it to the side. This tasted like whiskey flavoured wine. I hate whiskey. Was expecting something sweet and grapey, not oaky like whiskey. There was no effort for the special occasion, not even a candle on the dessert (another table had this, so they do offer it here). This was the icing on the cake of a rubbish experience. Total bill £285 inc service charge (broccoli was deducted from bill). 15% service charge to be insulted at the door and served inedible dishes was an extra slap in the face. I paid the bill in full, but took this as a lesson learnt. This restaurant did not near meet the expectations of a Michelin star restaurant. I would not recommend it at all. All things above considered, I rate this restaurant 4/10.

The service was catastrophic not to say we got the worst service ever. We where dinning with 3 children , when we arrived our waiter start offering us wines and things to drink, we explained that we just came back from Tiffany’s high Tea and where not that hungry. We told him we didn’t want wine, and then we asked him what can he recommend for 3 children . The recommendation was beef from 400 pounds a plate , and everything that was the most expensive things on the menu for 3 kids ages 11,12,13. Then I explain I don’t eat for allergy reasons any seafood or fish. We order and the food was really good I have to be fair! The eggplant was fantastic, the baby chicken was delicious the kfc was really good and the dumplings as well. Then we order several times a jasmine tea that he never brought, I was doing like jumping jacks for our waiter to pay any attention at all, then we asked water also never came to our table, then we asked a fork and napkins also never came until we ask it to who I think was a manager because how he was dressed and he brought it. Then we saw Gordon Ramsey. On our way out we where passing through the other restaurant and one of their managers a really nice man from Italy , asked us how was your experience at the Lucky cat we told him the story and it was really nice , professional, gentle , he offered our kids free dessert and apologised many times that was really nice and professional! We will not go back to the lucky cat it looks to me that if you don’t spend more than us 240 pounds was our bill nooo one really cares.

Where to start, beautiful settings lovely welcome from the host coats taken and shown to a lovely table. Menu is small and that’s fine but the menu has no details on it at all there is a fried chicken dish that just says GFK and this arrived it wasn’t even warmed through it’s also covered in a hot spicy sauce again not mentioned this is super spicy so we couldn’t eat it. Server does the whole bottle water trick as soon as you are sat this gives them an extra £7 per bottle and they constantly top it up bringing more bottles so you will be caught out buying multiple bottles. Drinks took ages to order we had to ask to order, cocktails are in a tiny glass 3-4 sips it’s gone really small for the price. Beef rib was fatty and chewy and the salmon tasted like it had sugar in it and this was inedible. I get it’s Mayfair so that’s fine you expect to pay but for the really slow service you receive and not great food I think it needs another relaunch. No one replies to the reviews on here and they definitely read them, my advice get a decent general manager that actually walks round touches tables and checks what’s going on. Main courses over a hour to arrive at a table, the men walk round in suits but are totally clueless send a secret critic in Gordon and see for yourself!

Over rated we’ve been to a few of Gordon’s restaurants and I don’t think he would be happy at the food at lucky cat….. although some of the food we ordered was nice the 2 skinny lamb chops for £24 was a ridiculous price I was going to send the dish back but the poor girl was embarrassed even to put the plate down & when I said is that what you get for £24 1 of them was pretty much just bone and I couldn’t help but laugh! I do hope someone does some quality control here soon, it was busy and the drinks were delicious but £260 for lunch & we left still hungry isn’t really good enough! Also just to mention the fried rice we ordered came out right at the end of the meal nearly 30 minutes later it would of been much better to have it with everything else really I think they must of forgot we didn’t end up even eating it

We got the vibe that the staff was doing us a favor by allowing us to spend our money in their restaurant. We had an 8:00 reservation and showed up at 7:45. The table was not ready and we were seated at a table at the bar to wait. We watched 6 to 8 parties who came in after us get seated between 7:45 and 8:30. At this point the bar was nearly empty and there was at least one table for two unoccupied in the restaurant. My wife checked with the hostess who said she would have to check with her manager to see when a table would be ready. It wasn't sorry for making you wait, it was more like we will let you know when we will allow you to sit. We chose to leave and find a better spot for dinner. Don't waste your time and money here and spare yourself the attitude.

Brilliantly located with cool and calm interior design, very friendly and professional staff and support food - a truly winning combination. An admirably short menu (have some confidence please other restaurants…..) with crowd pleasers and standout dishes like the sirloin made for an amazing lunch. One slight niggle (still 5 stars and we will be back) is that they forget two extra dishes we ordered which ended up taking 20 minutes when they weren’t busy - not what you expect at this price level / quality point. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed. So to say this is a Michelin star restaurant the service is shocking. We have been before and the service was bad then too so don’t think we will return which is a shame as the food is great when it actually comes out. This visit was for a birthday the table was ready and setting is lovely. We ordered food but half of the dishes failed to come out, we had to ask and the finally brought some of it out but in the end it was so long after all the rest of food had come out we just asked for the bill. When the bill came they had charged us for the fishes we hadn’t had so I had to ask for them to be removed and complained about the service . They did take them off and a round of drinks but to say this is meant to be the best of best both my visit have been let down by the service. It’s a shame as the food is great

After reading the mixed reviews I was a little apprehensive about dining there but we had an amazing experience. From the moment we entered and our coats were taken to the moment we left the service was exceptional. We were greeted with a warm and friendly smile and shown to our table. Our waitress was a delight she asked if we had eaten there before and when we said this was our first time she took time to explain the dishes and gave recommendations. We ordered cocktails which were delicious. We then ordered the spicy tuna rolls, GFC (this was simply divine and my favourite of all the dishes we had), the Nigiri selection and the duck boa buns. Each dish was fully of flavour. The waiting staff checked on us through our meal and kept us topped up with drinks, they were attentive but not intrusive. They even wrote Happy birthday on a plate with a couple of chocolates at the end of our meal. I really hope to go back sometime soon. Thank you to the staff for making my daughters day special.

Gordon Ramsey sells his soul to feed the super rich 🤔 What a strange experience; dark, loud, borderline seedy and staff obsequious to the young wealthy jet set. Chefs table was laughable with its layout and all rather pretentious with no substance to justify the expense of it all. However, enjoyed the food and experience but it does make you uncomfortable that there is a class in this country where being seen and spending obscene amounts of money on drink and food is the norm. My friend booked a table for us with a mixed group of friends of mine, as she used to work there, plus my mom’s friend recommended the restaurant too to eat at anyway. The area was separated from the other tables, it was nice to have our own little area, not disturbing the others. We were served by Khalid, he knows my friend, he was a great server! Lovely, friendly and charming. All the starters served (5-7 variety of starters, doubled, therefore 10-14 starters because there was meant to be 10 of us, ending up being 7) and the drinks were great, all my friends had burger as a main, one of them was gluten free, it was sort of a meh for her, I had the lobster roll, I loved everything about it other than the sauce, I wish the sauce was the same as one of the starters, which I unfortunately cannot remember. This dinner happened on 9th December 2023. It’s late review, sorry 😭. But anyways, my friends surprised me with a super late/super early bday celebration, I loved the chocolate cake, I’m glad it wasn’t too sweet, because I don’t like if any dessert is very sweet. But this one was perfect for me. Each person expense was no more than 40, however I paid 208 with a family friend 30% discount, which was meant to be 257, reminder as well that total of 7 people including me. I hope to try the beef wellington one day, I was also recommended by my friend and my mom’s friend. Thank you for your service Khalid!

We were disappointed by the experience we had at Lucky Cat. We booked weeks in advance for a table for 7 people, and when we turned up to the empty restaurant, they showed us to a table set for 5 people (5 sets of cutlery and 5 chairs). We had to tell them it wasn’t big enough obviously and wait for them to get another table for us. The service throughout was poor, and not what you would expect at a Michelin star restaurant with the prices you are paying. Due to no waiters coming over to our table regularly, we had to keep calling staff over to the table to ask for allergy information on certain dishes and to ask for more drinks. This was for my partners birthday, which we had detailed when booking the restaurant. At the end of the meal, the waitress said “is it someone’s birthday?” in a monotone voice and then slid a plate that said happy birthday over to her… and then walked away. The whole experience was poor. The only saving Grace (and why I am rating this 2 stars) is because the food was absolutely amazing. But unfortunately, service really does make or break your experience.

I assume the beef wellington is one of the signature dish of this restaurant. As can be seen in the picture, the outside pastry of the beef is burnt and before we cut it the wellington beef was already fallen apart. Moreover, one thing that makes this experience even worse is the service. I am not asking for top notch service but at least don’t make the customer feel uncomfortable and feel like the waiter is rushing to do something else as well as not wanting to serve us. I think that isn’t too much to ask especially when I paid 15% for the “service fee”.

To honor my wife's birthday, we sailed from Miami to South Hampton to have dinner at Gordon Ramsay's Bar and Grill. Expecting an excellent evening, the decor and greetings were as expected. We decided to order the Beef Wellington for 2, an entrée cooked to order, which required 45 minutes to an hour. We started with drinks and Cod Bite appetizers. Both were very nice. Unfortunately when the Beef Wellington arrived it was black. The beef should be medium rare, it was medium. The picture looks much better than it was in real life. The pictures show the burnt pastry that was chipped off in our attempt to have a meal. If we had had time I would have asked for a replacement, unfortunately, we didn't have the time. Upon telling our waiter that the Wellington was over cooked, his response was that he didn't care for it either, he prefers his steaks grilled. A little more explanation and examples of the burnt pastry and he offer a desert on the house. I told him we were extremely disappointed, especially due to the fact it was her birthday. He returned with a Sticky Toffee and a small brownie with a candle. That was a nice gesture. Overall I am disappointed with the Bar & Grill.

The absolute worst experience from The moment we arrived, waited for 45 mins with a booking our table then took 15 mins to prepare before we could sit down and there were more then enough staff on. Ordered corn ribs and Mac and cheese first as we weee starving. The macaroni was mushy and over cooked whilst corn had no flavour ! (According to our waiter that’s how it is - bland) after I complained about it. Beef Wellington was the reason we came here so of course we ordered it and waited another 50-60 mins for that to come out (even tho it says 45mins) and the restaurant was quite empty at this stage. The mushroom duxelle was so bland it tasted like over cooked slosh and the beef still had silver skin on it. All of this coming from someone who makes other chefs cry and belittles them … Gordon we expected much more from you (or your restaurants) Not to mention this 3 dishes plus 2 alcoholic drinks cost us $450 AUD.

Me and my partner went to this restaurant to try out the beef wellington as it’s Gordon’s signature dish. However, it’s extremely disappointing - the beef itself is completely tasteless, plus overcooked so it chews bad as well. The mushroom layer is too thick and the grass taste is too strong, finally the crust isn’t firmly attached to the thing. This place is just severely overrated and I can do better myself with some Costco steaks. I must say this is one of the worst steakhouse I have ever been to in my life. Our bill was £150, so £75 per person. I would rather pay £75 to avoid this meal after all.

We went here on a Wednesday night and made a reservation on open table. Place was easy to find and in a quiet location a couple streets over from Oxford Street. The service and waitstaff were outstanding!! Abdul was the bartender on duty and made us a custom martini that honestly should be on the main menu and when paired with the sticky toffee pudding it was delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good meal in London.

I had very high expectations for this restaurant. Unfortunately, my expectations were too high. I ordered the aged ribeye, I was offered a sauce for it, but I refused since I wanted to taste the steak. Once I tasted the steak I understood why the sauce was suggested. I have had plenty of ribeye, aged or not, and this was not any better than what I can buy at the grocery store where I live in Texas. For $100 for steak, mashed potatoes and water I was not impressed, and would not recommend it.

Loved it. I had the lamb shank with mash with the cheese cake dessert. Both were banging. Probably the best shank I've had for a long time. Cheese cake with scrumptious too. So, all in all, spot on food and service. 👍🏻

Booked Christmas Dinner here. Turkey dinner looked nothing like the promotional pictures. Vegetables were all brown. One medium very well done roast potato on the plate which was hard as nails. The dish was swimming in sweet gravy. I like to pour on my own gravy!! Christmas crackers were very cheap. Three of us at £165 per head. Expected so much better! Plus added 15% service charge. I have eaten at Petrus and am extremely surprised Gordon allows this restaurant to get away with this! Never again.

We were excited to eat at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant but the experience was poor. Unacceptable amount of items out of stock: - Beef Wellington out of stock - Sweetcorn Ribs out of stock - Lobster out of stock The food we were able to order was decent but not excellent. Filet was just okay. Took 1 hour between our main course complete and dessert to arrive. While dining I just couldn’t help to feel even Gordon Ramsay himself would say the experience was unacceptable. Pass on this mismanaged mess and just eat at his real michelin star flagship restaurant.

Really enjoyable environment. Congrats Mr Ramsay. Often there is a lot of hype and marketing around successful chefs but the food at the steak house was very good quality. The kitchen is open to view and the service was excellent. In this case an Italian waiter that took really good care of us and we were not necessarily dressed for going out. Just like tourists having a stroll so no judgement which is just how all good places should be.

Such a joke for the quite expensive Christmas dinner. 30 minutes before our drinks even arrived at the table and food was painfully slow to come out with about 30 minutes between courses. The food was mediocre at best with dessert being the highlight. Service was mediocre as well with barely a check in during our 2 hours there. This was a reservation based meal and they knew exactly how many guests to expect so not sure why the service was so slow.

Starting with the conclusion, it was an unpleasant experience. There was a festival set menu advertised at the restaurant entrance, but upon seating, I discovered they didn't offer it. Even at the bar, there was no server to assist with ordering, and despite signaling to one of the staff members, none came to help. In the end, it was the bartender who had to call someone over for service.

TOURISTS BEWARE!!! Me and my girlfriend visited here yesterday and were greated by a very unhappy looking hostess and a very quiet restaurant who showed us to our table, the atmosphere was relaxed and the decor was nice but they had a huge flat screen tv playing the football which kind of ruined the atmosphere and ambience completely. We ordered the cheese burgers and chips with a side of mac and cheese and the waiter put a bottle of water on our table without asking so we assumed it was complimentary and we were getting good service. The burger was lovely and chips were okay but not seasoned at all but were crisp, the mac and cheese was awful though, the cheese sauce was a sloppy garlic water and you couldn't taste any cheese whatsoever and also was unseasoned. After our meal we did feel full which was nice but then the worse bit the bill, we expected to be paying around £54 but when we checked it was £71! We asked to see why and the bottle of water we were given was £7! And the rest was a £1 donation and a 15% service charge also which is unbelievable, when i asked why we were paying so much they said they charge the 15% so they know people can afford the food which is completely unreasonable and basically theft. I usually tip up to the nearest 10 when i eat out but was stunned to find out it was mandatory and i didn't like no one told us about the water. Overall don't visit unless you like getting ripped off and having a huge blinding flatscreen in your face while you try and eat.

We have recently had a group dinner at the restaurant and the food was very disappointing. We were asked to select our menu in advance and the restaurant initially insisted that we all choose the same items from the festive set menu, which to me defeats the purpose of having a set menu in the first place. When we pushed back, the restaurant agreed to let us select our choices (1 out of 3 options for appetizer, main and dessert). We opted for the most expensive menu but the food didn’t live up to the expectations. The pasta was overcooked and under-seasoned, the beef Wellington was disappointing too. I had had it a few times before and the one served as part of the festive menu was subpar to say the least. We thought that having dinner at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant would be a safe choice but we were disappointed. The service was good and so was the atmosphere (we had a private room).

Avoid the Beef Wellington!!! We booked this restaurant for a treat, and we wanted to experience what a 'Gordon Ramsay' Beef Wellington was like. Admittedly, we went in with high expectations, but we were bitterly disappointed with the Wellington. The fillet was bland and chewy. The pastry was overcooked, and the mushroom filling was tasteless. I don't usually complain at restaurants, but I mentioned it to the waitress who cleared the table, and she got the manager. The manager apologised to us and went to speak to the head chef. His reply was fillet is bland meat, not the reply that I would expect from a head chef, especially at what is supposed to be a fine-dining restaurant. My strong advice is to save your money and disappointment by not going to this restaurant.
