I’ve mainly been ordering a number of different starters from here on a Friday night. I have to say they have all tasted awesome. 10-15 minutes collection time by phone. The girl on the desk is very nice. Always busy, a good sign.

Very tasty Indian. Got extra onion bahji's that we didn't order too so that was a nice treat! Highly recommended! Thank you

Great menu choice and will alter the food to suit your spice levels, also get the option to have the food cooked with or without ghee. The naan bread is awesome

For treat night we had preordered for our first try of the Spice Junction Express. The reason of preordering was our son works night shift in a care home so fancied a hot meal instead of taking a sandwich or microwave ready meal. The takeaway arrived only 10 minutes late and the driver was pleasant. The food was hot. The tikka chicken starter (starter free over a spend of £16) was served with salad and was very tasty. The chips and keema rice were plentiful and tasty. Unfortunately my son thought the tikka chicken wrap, large but bland. My garlic chicken tikka was pleasant, but seemed to be lacking something to give it a bit of a taste boost whilst my partner was surprised how hot his chilli beef dish was, he was expecting about Madras or just above heat, but his solar panel (bald patch on his head) was sweating buckets. Our opinions only. Plenty of other choices and would consider trying again some day.

Amazing deals on all week and the best curry ever. We don't even go out for curry anymore as we get the best curries at home from here. Staff are so friendly and food is gorgeous... wouldn't get a takeaway from anywhere else in the area.

Thought we'll try this place after trying most of the curry outlets in South Tyneside and confidently was this is a rare gem. The food was fresh and delicious, we all throughly enjoyed it and will definitely go back. Recommending the chefs speciality dishes and the special fried rice.

First went to this place in 2011, by chance, on the way home. The food was fantastic, good portions and well priced. Staff are friendly and remember your name. Good meal deals on offer as well. Therr must be six or seven takeaways closer to me than Spice Junction but it's worth the drive.

I't so common to see takeaway food which just isn't restaurant quality, but this was different. Prompt delivery, and everything neatly packed and labelled. If you like your curries phal hot, then you could do much worse than order from here. Excellent chefs. Another plus: the salad. I'm a bit of a salad dodger, but I must confess it was fresh, crispy and plentiful.

A lovely, warm, local pub that is very reasonably priced. We will visit again! I had previously had a bad experience but decided to give it another try with some friends over the festive period. I am so pleased I did. We arrived to a warm, friendly welcome, the drinks were very reasonably priced and we were made to feel at home throughout. The Manager/Owner (Glen) even took the time to discuss and apologise for the previous issues experienced. You would never get that from a larger organisation! Thank you to the whole team. We will definitely visit again.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE!? I'd like to start by saying this place used to be a 5 star establishment. It used to be spacious upstairs and the decor was lovely and the service was great. Since the move downstairs it's just not the same. Decor is cramped and uninspired. But the service tonight was awful. No guidance to the young staff on service. Who by the way were all very polite and well spoken when they did come to us, so this isn't a rant at them personally they just seem a bit inexperienced and in need of managing. From arrival it took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive (2 small bottles and 2 empty glasses), they actually came after our shared starter. Then another 30 minutes for the mains. They've also stopped doing the complimentary prawn crackers and dip. The room was slightly cold too. Not great. Also nobody checked on us during meal or asked if we needed more drinks. (We did). I'm gutted to write this as the manager is lovely and the staff seem friendly but we won't come back which is a shame cos old orangegrass was fantastic. I wouldn't say avoid as the food is still lovely and tasty when it eventually arrives but don't hold your breath for service. Maybe it will be better for others next time. But the cramped downstairs and lack of atmosphere too is enough for me to write this review.
