Best curry ever everytime I go anywhere else on holiday or weekend away always compare and it’s impossible Spice House is the best !

One of the better takeaways in Cleator Moor, serving authentic Indian takeaways. The food is always tasty and filling, with good portions and plenty of choice. Some of the Chef's recommendations are excellent, and they'll happily tailer to your palate if you like something a little spicier. Not sure about deliveries as haven't ordered by phone, but in person, the service is good and the wait is limited. Very happy overall. Spice House is our go-to in the local area for decent currys.

Had a takeaway curry from here while holidaying nearby and it was lovely. So nice in fact we had another one during our stay. Good tasty food, very tender meat and all well cooked. Recommended.

Didn't manage to even have an order delivered after specifically calling in advance to check whether or not they could deliver. Called them on the phone when they opened at 4.30 pm having tried to call in person earlier in the day to collect a menu (but it wasn't open yet). Advised them that I was staying locally on a caravan site and asked if they would be able to deliver. Was told that they had delivered to our caravan site before so it would be fine. My wife called them 2 hours later and explained where we were and placed her order then was abruptly told that they couldn't deliver. I called back to ask why this was the case and was told that 'maybe if the order was £50 or more we would consider it'. What a load of rubbish - I gave him a piece of my mind as I think that it is very poor form to be given incorrect information like this. If he had any common sense at all he could have offered to deliver with a surcharge which I would have gladly paid as we were looking forward to eating Indian food on a short family break nearby. Can't comment on the food as we did not get any but judging by the way they operate it was most likely a blessing in the end!

Myself and partner are currently holidaying locally, and some other holidaymakers recommended this place as said they had a lovely meal. I phoned my order through and was told it would be ready for collection in 40 mins, but it actually took just over an hour. We had chicken jalfrezi and prawn biryani with a few side orders. The food was okay - but generally was lacking in a bit of spice and flavour (I know tastes differ, but we prefer Indian food which is aromatic and flavoursome). The sag paneer was the most disappointing thing as it was not made with paneer cheese, it was more like melted mozzarella in spinach - not good. Naan breads were good! We wouldn't visit this take away again, but as I mentioned above, the other holidaymakers we spoke to enjoyed their meal, so maybe it's a matter of taste.
